Chapter 6: More Treasures Of History

So a little more history backgrounds, some 80s references, just random piece of fluff really. Hope it fluffed up your fluffy day
With the Dazzlings no longer in fear of being in public eye and no longer worried of their past, all three of them decided to make some changes. Now that they were more trusting of their friends, they decided to bring in some of their old storage chests out and show them a bit of some of their past history.
Everyone was gathered at the Dazzlings penthouse, and Adagio was fiddling with the lock on one of the trunks.
"Give me a moment, these locks are old you know..." Adagio grunted.
One more click, and the lock came undone. Opening it up, she kicked it open with her heel, finally getting the top off. But upon kicking it, the top of the store case snapped off, hitting the floor. In silence of the broken bin, Adagio chuckled slightly, rubbing the back of her head.
"We needed a new storage bin anyway."
"Maybe the next case you open, don't use your heel?" Aria scowled.
Adagio rolled her eyes, and urged everyone to gather close. Everyone's eyes looked deep into the box, ogling at the items inside. Deep within, there were some old gladiator weapons, armor, and helmets. There were even some shoes and small pieces of clothing as well.
"Oooh, nice battle armor." Trixie said, looking at the helmets.
"Ancient Rome is where these are from." Adagio spoke. "We wore these to protect ourselves during many a fight in their games."
"We actually fought together in the Colosseum."
"Really?"
Aria nodded.
"No way."
"Tell that to this bad boy here," Aria smirked, pulling out a piece of armor that had been pierced through. There were a few gaping holes, but there was also some slash marks that looked to resemble a picture of a skull. "All the warriors called me, Arius."
"Nice." Amethyst grinned.
Sonata dug her hand in the box and she pulled out a chain and two maces.
"Uh, Sonata, please be careful..." Aria winced, slowly stepping away.
"I'm going to be careful, I promise!" Sonata retorted. "Do you really think I'm going to do something dumb?"
"Yes."
Sonata huffed. "Well. No need to be blunt."
Aria just stayed as far as she could, and she pushed some of her friends back as well.
"Aria, what are you doing?"
"Trust me, you don't want to be in the same room with Sonata and a mace!" Aria panicked.
Adagio nodded. "She's not wrong. But there's no one attacking her, so I think we'll be fine."
"And if someone does?"
"We duck and cover, nothing new." Adagio nonchalantly said.
"Um, may I just ask, why are we all freaking out right now?" Lyra asked.
Adagio groaned and looked up at Lyra. "Back in Ancient Rome, Sonata was known far and wide as Sonata The Barbarian. No man ever tried to stand up to her, cause with that mace, she practically took down everyone that came near and tried to fight her."
Amethyst raised on finger. "If I may... I'd like to see that sometime."
"Yeah me too! I wanna see Sonata kick some butt!" Lyra cheered.
Sonata giggled. "Maybe another time."
She set the mace back down, and this time, she opened up a bin. A single strip of tape was streaked on the front, labeled '40s Treasures'. Opening it up, everyone gathered to look at some of the 1940s items within.
"The 1940s weren't the best of times for us," Sonata said, "But we did make some fond memories back then."
Everyone's eyes were now locked onto the storage bin that Sonata opened up.
"Wow..." Lyra gasped.
"What the 40s like for you girls?"
"Honestly... not great." Sonata replied, shaking her head. "Pretty loud."
"But we did get some good things out of the time." Adagio replied.
Her hands dug into the box and she pulled out a big film camera. Way bigger than the ones they have these days. And there were some additional pieces and parts to it.
"An authentic 40s film camera? This is incredible!" Lyra gasped, examining it.
"We did keep a lot of treasures from several different time frames." Adagio said.
Aria opened up another bin, this one with a labeled 1950 Treasures.
"Oh I did like some of this stuff," Aria chuckled. Reaching at the bottom, she pulled out a small black jacket that had been shredded up. "Always loved wearing this."
"Didn't you say you always wanted to stand out from the crowd?" Sonata asked.
"It was 1955, Sonata. Yes, I wanted to stand out from everyone else. I never did like those girls with those frilly dresses, and ugh, they were such wimps." Aria huffed.
"I'm pretty sure you're just stereotyping," Adagio said, pulling some more stuff out.
"Oooh! Adagio, what's this one?" Trixie asked.
Adagio gazed to the trunk Trixie was looking at, and smirked.
"Oh, I'm glad I pulled this one out..."
She flipped the top up, revealing the treasures inside. And everyone's eyes zipped in a micro-second over to that specific trunk. The trunk was practically overfilling with gold, jewels, pearls, bullion, silver, bronze, pretty much anything that a pirate would love to claim over the high seas!
"Back in the 1700s, my sisters and I used to be pirates. Oh we loved to parade around the high seas, winning victories over the pirates, luring the sailors, claiming the loot and booty..."
Amethyst opened up her mouth until Adagio's head jolted at her with a snarl.
"Say one word and I will slap you."
Amethyst closed her mouth, a small snicker escaping her lips.
"Anyways, we did rule the seas once. And the sense of adventure to hunt for treasure, oh, it felt ravishing..." Adagio sighed.
"Yeah..." Sonata and Aria said in unison.
The three sisters were sitting in silence for a moment or two. Thankfully the silence was broken.
"We have to go on a treasure hunt sometime again. You know, relive those glory days?" Aria asked.
"But where would we even go?" Adagio asked.
"I think I may have an idea." Trixie asked.
Adagio turned her gaze back to her partner. "And what may that be my little performer?"
Trixie giggled as she flipped on her phone.
"I know somewhere just off the coast there's a small town that has a rich history of being home to pirates. Rumor has it that pirates buried their treasure there, but no one has been able to find it." Trixie flipped her phone to Adagio, allowing her to hold it.
"Smuggler's Cove, huh?" Adagio smirked. "Trixie, I think you're onto something."
"You sure?"
"Absolutely. My sisters and I never went near that town. What with the drunken lunatics, the wanted pirates, the outlaws, it was an unsafe haven. But since its no longer that time frame... I think we just may have to visit the town again."
"Alright if we could come along?" Lyra asked.
"The more the merrier!" Adagio smiled. "It'd be nice to have a crew by our side."
Adagio winked at the girls behind them, making them giggle. But as they did, Adagio dug her hand back into the box of treasures, pulling some gold out.
"You know... since no one's going to know where this came from. I think we should share some of these. Perhaps you could hand some of these to Bon Bon, Vinyl, and Octavia?" Adagio asked.
"Of course!"
"Gladly."
Adagio plucked out a few items from the box, passing them along to the two girls. And as Adagio looked again, she plucked out a small golden ring.
"And Trixie?" Adagio asked.
Trixie turned her gaze at her girlfriend.
"I'd like you to have this one. Wear it on your hand, to remind yourself that I will always be by your side." Adagio smiled, holding the ring.
"Aww, Adagio... you shouldn't..."
"Please, I insist. We have plenty of gold."
Trixie's hand opened up and Adagio graced her palm. Carefully, she slid the gold jewel down on her ring finger, making the perfect match. Trixie moved her hand back, looking at it on her hand. She couldn't help but smile. Not because she was wearing ancient gold treasure, but because of who had given it to her.
She looked back into Adagio's sweet and loving eyes, and she planted a kiss on her lips. Adagio couldn't help herself and she embraced her some more, enjoying every second with her new girlfriend. It was like pure heaven, and she didn't want to miss a second of it.
As the new couple shared their kiss, Amethyst opened up another box, releasing its contents.
"Oooh!" Amethyst ogled the bottom of it. Her hands grasped a small colorful box of what contained six little toy vehicles. Each one of them inside were white and blue construction type of vehicles, and there were pictures of robots next to each one of them. And a red logo of what appeared to be a triangular shaped face was slapped near the top of the box.
"You girls collected Transformers?" Amethyst asked.
The Dazzlings walked over, looking into the box she gazed into.
"Oh, yes. Yes we did." Adagio nodded.
"Back in the 80s, we were looking for stuff to do, and Sonata found a cartoon on one of our local stations, and well, all three of us got hooked."
"We watched a lot of cartoons back in the 80s. G.I.JOE, Jem and the Holograms, and even Transformers." Sonata nodded.
"Didn't know you girls were into those shows," Amethyst said, setting the box next to her.
"Well, we are."
"You girls ever see the original Transformers movie?"
Their faces all drooped, and a few nervous chuckles escaped their lips.
"Yeah, we did. It was uh... well... it was something." Adagio said, rubbing the back of her head.
"Pretty gruesome to be honest." Aria said, looking disturbed. "But I think it hit Sonata the hardest."
Sonata slowly nodded, with a sad look.
"Let me guess. Slaughtering of favorite characters?" Lyra asked. "Yeah, we've seen that. Nothing new."
"Yeah, but it really hit Sonata hard. She couldn't look at Transformers for several weeks after that. And I don't think it helped that there were a lot of children crying in the theaters," Adagio rubbed her head, "Bet a lot of parents weren't too happy..."
"Well, it happened. But at least you girls got to go see it when it aired. I wish I could have seen it when it premiered," Amethyst said, pulling more junk from the trunk out.
"Hey, what's this?" Trixie pulled out a VHS tape from the bottom. "Adagio's Workout Session?"
Adagio's face slunk. "Oh, uh, its nothing, you can just put it back, um--"
Aria and Sonata's faces crept with mischievous grins. They knew what that tape held. And they knew Adagio wasn't innocent in this.
"Want to see it Trixie?"
"Uh, no, no she doesn't!" Adagio said, standing in front of her.
"Why you trying to deny your new girlfriend the pleasure of seeing an old memory?" Aria smirked.
"Because I'm trying to push that particular memory away!"
"I got the tape!" Sonata grinned, holding it high above the air.
Adagio tried to reach for it, but Aria managed to hold her back to keep her from seeing it.
"Aria!"
"C-Come on, put it in!"
Quickly, Sonata changed the settings on the TV. She put the tape into the VCR, and then switched to the station where it would read what was on the tape. Once it started to process through, the screen flickered on.
On screen, poppy 80s synthesizers kicked up for the opening theme and eventually the screen changed. In front of the screen, Adagio Dazzle was the first person to be seen. She was seen with a gray shirt that had the straps hanging on the sides of her shoulders, revealing two straps on her shoulders, part of the black unitard she had on. Her legs wore pink leg warmers, and she had her hands on her hips.
"Good morning ladies. Now if you're like me, you probably want to stay in perfect shape to keep that sexy body ever so alluring...", Adagio on the TV giggled, "But some of you out there may also just want to stay in good shape. And its no problem. So everyone, get up on your feet. Come on, get up, get up. Got to get those muscles moving."
All of the sisters friends eyes were glued to the TV screen. Adagio, in a skin-tight unitard, was in an exercise video.
"Alright so this is going to be very simple. We're going to be working on a few hip exercises to really help get the muscles downstairs moving. Everything above should be fine, but what about the legs? Well, that's why I'm here. So, let us begin!"
As a series of beats began to play, Adagio started to sway her hips side to side, keeping her hands on her hips. An alluring grin kept consistent as she instructed the audience in front of her.
Everyone who was still watching was looking in shock. But Adagio could clearly hear some snickering coming from Lyra and Amethyst.
"Don't you even dare."
"No, no!" Lyra snickered. "I'm not laughing, I was just thinking of a funny joke someone told me today!"
"Y-Yeah, same... same here!" Amethyst snorted.
Their faces were turning red at this point, and Adagio had nothing but a scowl. But at this point it was no use. They were going to laugh either way.
"Go ahead."
Amethyst and Lyra were the first to crack, their bodies slamming on the hardwood floor. Their hands held onto their sides as they just laughed like hyenas, howling over the imagery that they had just seen.
"This is great!" Lyra laughed.
Adagio's cheeks went red as she looked back at Trixie.
"I uh... I was looking for a job and I was offered to do exercise video instructing. Plus, uh... exercise videos were popular back in those days so... I thought maybe, I'd make one."
Trixie nervously chuckled, "Right, right... say uh... Adagio? Mind if maybe sometime I could uh..."
Trixie's face was turning just as red as Adagio's right now.
"Alright if I could borrow that tape?"
