Chapter 9: Through Evil Eyes

Through Evil Eyes

The Queen's eyes opened as she released her focus on Discord's mind. "Amusing." she said.

She was taller than most ponies. She had white eyes, not lit with much magic, but just enough to hide her pupils.  Her coat was pitch black, if you didn't look close enough, she would appear to just be a flying pair of eyes. She wore a black cloak and hood at all times, covering her wings and horn. She had been lying down while listening to Discord's conversation, despite being hundreds of miles away.

Aquarius laughed. "It's funny how they actually think they can do something."

Aquarius was now even older looking than he used to be. Wrinkles covered his face, and his coat was now much darker then the light gray which he wore thirty years ago. His armor was black, with a purple mohawk and tail. All of the other guards had the same uniform, however, red mohawks and tails.

"Celestia could be troublesome, actually."  she contradicted.

Aquarius narrowed his eyes. "What? That old hag? I bet she couldn't lift a rock!"

The Queen sighed. "Are you really that stupid?"

"What?" asked Aquarius.

"Alicorns are immortal and do not age past the height of their health. It would be suicide to assume Celestia is any less, if not more powerful then she was thirty years ago." she argued.

"Hmph. You worked so hard to take the throne from her, yet you still respect her?" asked a puzzled Aquarius.

She sighed once again. "Celestia taught me everything I know."

"Not everything." challenged Aquarius.

----------

Spike's eyes widened. "Did... You ever actually... With Twilight..."

Discord turned away and stared off into the open. "Yes."

Spike's jaw fell. He shook his head trying to deny it, but the mental image of it happening wouldn't go away. Twilight... And Discord... TWILIGHT... And DISCORD...

"You must be joking?" he finally said.

"No." answered Discord.

Celestia grit her teeth and twitched. "Wasn't she... Just a bit... Young... For you..."

"She was a fully grown adult, Tia." defended Discord. "It was her who asked me. Anyways, you are four thousand and are in love with a thirty seven year old dragon."

Celestia cringed. "If you made her happy... I don't have many arguments. I've lived long enough to know what is important..."

Spike was confused as Discord walked over to the crying Celestia to comfort her. "She was so young..." cried the alicorn.

Discord suddenly understood her distress. "You never told her, did you?"

Celestia shook her head. "I was always waiting for the right time. She admired me so much... Something in the back of her mind must of known. Every time she was around me, it burned. It was torture. I failed her..."

"You did the right thing, Tia. It was wrong for Twilight to grow up in those conditions. You would have always been busy with something. She would of asked where Luna was. A child needed more attention then that, and for someone who is immortal like Twilight, waiting for a few decades to tell her was never a mistake." said Discord, failing to comfort the inconsolable alicorn.

"Twilight? Immortal? How?" asked Spike, walking closer to the two.

"Spike..." began Discord.

Celestia interrupted him. "No. We better get going. This is a story for another time. Sweet apple acres is only about three hours away from here."

Discord sighed and gave a concerned look at the white mare, but decided not to speak. He was usually the one to make a joke or lighten up the mood, but this was serious. He went and collected his belongings. Spike turned and looked at Celestia. "Is there something I need to know?"

"Yes, but not now. Let's find Applejack first." she said.

"Fair enough." agreed Spike, who had nothing to carry with him.

Discord and Celestia eventually gathered their things and took flight, followed by the super-massive purple dragon.

----------

Dash yawned and stretched her arms as she walked down the stairs into the kitchen, only to smell the familiar aroma of apple pie. "Mornin' AJ."

"Heya Rainbow!" the orange mare responded.

Dash walked up to Applejack and kissed her on the cheek. She walked over to the window to see the blooming apple trees. "Going to be a great season." she said. Even now that Equestria was in Luna's hooves, she never really bothered anyone except by sacrificing a few criminals and raising taxes. Nights were also longer, 16 hour nights and 8 hour days. It was enough, though.

"Sure is. Did I tell you Big Macintosh might be comin' to visit later this week?" announced Applejack.

Dash smiled. "Sounds great! I haven't seen Mac in awhile, how is his farm going?"

"Good as usual. The price of corn has risen lately, he's been rakin' in the dough. Not to mention all the money they get from Fluttershy's milk and eggs. Them critters of hers finally decided to turn a profit." answered Applejack.

"Fluttershy and Mac have always been so happy together." said Dash.

Applejack smiled. "Yeah they have. It'll be good to see them again, maybe you and Fluttershy can practice them flier tricks eh?"

Dash laughed a bit. She hadn't flown to perform stunts at all since Luna disbanded the Wonderbolts. That dream had long passed since she and Applejack got together. She didn't need such silly things such as the Wonderbolts anymore, she was happy.

As they were eating their pies, they heard a knock on the door. "Ah'll get it." volunteered Applejack. She walked up to the farm house door, and opened it. She stared up in awe, and backed away a few steps. "R-Rainbow..."

Dash rushed into the main room in an attempt to defend her mate, only to see someone she thought she would never see again. Her jaw dropped at the sight of it.

Celestia smiled. "Hello girls. May we come in?"

"Of course P-Princess..." said Dash.

Celestia entered the house and looked around at the various pictures and pieces of furniture. "Please, call me Celestia. I'm no longer the princess." She smiled at them. "This is a very nice place you have here."

"Thank you, uhm, Celestia." said Applejack.

"Look out behind you!" shouted Dash, as she flew and tackled the draconequus which was entering the building.

"Could someone please get it off me." said Discord, growing increasingly annoyed.

"Don't worry, Discord here isn't making trouble anymore." said Celestia. She smiled at Dash.

Applejack bit Dash by the tail and pulled her off the angry draconequus. She gave him a crooked smile. "Sorry 'bout her, Mr Discord."

Discord chuckled to himself and got up. "It's quite alright. I understand it must have been odd seeing me."

They shared a laugh as Discord and Celestia explained why they were here.

"So you want us to come along with you?" asked Dash.

"Yes. Precisely. Will you both come outside with me, for a moment?" asked Celestia.

The four exited the house to be greeted by the massive purple dragon. "Is... Is that you, Spike?" asked Applejack. Her and Dash's mouth were agape.

"Sure is." he answered.

"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" said Dash as she flew up to hug the dragon's neck.

"Hello to you too, little one." joked Spike.

Applejack was concerned however. She turned and looked up to Celestia. "Thirty years ago, before Twilight died in the fight versus Luna... She told me she needed tah do it alone. Why do ya need us now? Did she need us before?"

Celestia looked around at everyone, who now had their eyes on her. She turned to Discord, he nodded his head. Celestia looked back at Applejack. "I believe there is something all of you need to know about Twilight, before we depart..."

----------

The dark alicorn released herself from Celestia's mind after reading into what she was about to say. She backed up and fell to her hooves, and began breathing heavily. She shook her head in denial, but could not turn away the thoughts of what she had just seen. She thought about it once more until making a final jurisdiction.

Impossible.
