Author's Notes:

This Chapter has been rewritten by Nightmare_Moon_

The first ten Chapters are not as well written as the later ones, but they are being updated to match the quality of my current writing. Please have patience as this story will only get better the deeper you read into them. The 'Mathael's interdimensional trolling spree' Chapters are best for readers who aren't sure yet if they want to read yet as they contain almost no story important events and are fan favorites.

The first few Chapters will be similar to those in Don't Get Cocky and so will be the characters when they appear, but the later Events of this story will have many original Chapters.

I do not own Mlp, nor the other fictional content. The videos, pictures, and songs that are going to be shown are also not my property. Please keep these things in mind while you are reading this Story.

Initially, I had a fairly regular, boring, uneventful life. Wake up in the morning, make breakfast, go to work, return home spending what little time I had available to play video games, watch TV or read fanfics before retiring for the night.

That is the routine for almost all humans in an ordinary world. Well, I for one have had enough of this cruel, unchanging, colorless world. I have decided to leave it all behind one day. My name is Matthew Roberts, and this is my story.

Why did I decide to do this? Leave humanity behind? Well, I was born like every other normal kid and had loving parents and a brilliant older brother.

My mother had blue eyes, was a bit short and had blond hair. She was always there when I needed her, and she was a brilliant woman. She knew all kinds of stuff about the world, and so much more. She was always there when I needed help and always knew how to cheer me up.

My father was a large man with short black hair. He was a CEO for some company; I never bothered asking. Besides his career, he was also a heavy smoker and pretty much emotionless, but he was always there when I needed him... in his ways.

My brother was a bit short for his age, but he was a nice guy. He would often spend time with me and talked a bit about electronics or computer programs. He was always talented and very sporty, had a lot of friends, and was even on his way to becoming a Computer/Game programmer.

I, on the other hand, was big for my age and a bit chubby. I was smart, polite and a bit shy. I was always the standard A+ pupil and the teachers favorite. But I was bullied most of my youth.

I ignored them pretty well; even my teachers said I had an excellent temper. Unless you mess with my friends. You do that, then the shy nerd will become very loud and very dangerous. The last one who messed with my friends ran screaming out of the room.

Otherwise, my youth was pretty calm. That is...until I became eight. One day when I came home from school, I saw my 27-year-old brother had a seizure with his body twitched furiously. When the paramedics saved him, they said that he was on death’s doorstep, he barely survived and was never really the same afterward. He was basically brain dead and a bit mad. But I didn’t let it get to me, so I continued my life and was now helping my big brother.

But life only got crueler from there. When I became 16, my mother had a car accident. She got heavily wounded and had to be in the hospital bed at all times. Oh, how many hours have I waited beside my dying mother. I can clearly remember the last few minutes which I spend with her before she... was gone.

She said something I have never forgotten and probably will always remember. "Matthew, I know my time is running short, but I don’t want you to ever give up, never forget who you truly are." My mother said with a small smile. "If you love me or anyone who is gone, you let them go, but you will never forget who they were and always remember what made them special to you."

I cried at my dead mother’s side for hours which felt like days, but at the funeral, I didn’t shed a tear. I just stood there with next to no emotions, watching as my mother’s coffin got buried. The only thought going through my head was I wished I was laying in that hole instead of her.

At this point, my life became pretty much emotionless and dull. I got a job at my father’s Company while studying at the same time. I started being less social with friends until I forgot I had any and my connections with my brother and father began to die.

In the next few years I graduated and got a promotion from my father to a Manager of an Office, but even with that promotion I merely continued my colorless life. Now you might be wondering what I did in my free time, well I lived in the house where we all lived back then. But since my mother was dead and my father was almost never at home, my brother got moved to an asylum, and I visited him once a week. Life was pretty much dull, I never much cared for parties, and I also hated spending too much money, so I just collected it, just in case something happened. Once in a while, I bought a video game or watched a movie.

After two years of doing my job and wasting my time and also a few months after my 18 birthday which my father forgot; like he did last six years. He sends me a voicemail in which he told me that my brother died of an overdose last month. He also said that he was too busy to come to the funeral. Emotionless old man.

So many people came to my brothers funeral, even some of his old High School friends were there while I just stood there, letting everything happen. I said a few words about my brother like that I miss him and what a good Brother he was... I miss him.

In the next few years, nothing happened, just little old me having his world and everything important to him crumble away. It's sad but true. You only know how much you had when you don't have it anymore even if everything that held you together was little from the beginning.

But then came the moment I never expected to happen, I got a call, and no my dear readers that was not something that I believed would never happen, but who called me was the critical thing. It was my old man wanting to talk to me at the Hospital?

I know I could have cared less, but I haven’t seen my father in ages, and my fears got the best out of me. I just ran out of the office with no interest about my life to the hospital and no I didn’t have a car if any of you were wondering, and I was too greedy to use a taxi.

When I got to the hospital, I was breathing heavily and had a completely red face. Hey, I am not lazy or poor at running, but I want to see you running 25 minutes up a hill and then not look like a Tomato that is close to exploding. Well, anyways, the secretary instantly told me to go to room 12, On the 7th Floor and of course with my luck today the elevator had a defect.

After many stairs and many more curses, I got to my father’s room. He told me to come closer, and so I did and what he said I would never forget because before me laid not my emotionless old man but a husk that looked like he was almost 70 and even looked...sad? He said "Kid I am so sorry that I was never there for you after your mother’s death. I was an emotionless and stubborn workaholic, but I want you to listen and listen well".

So many questions raced through my head. Is this real? What will he say to me? What will I do on this day? These few moments of thinking of possibilities felt like hours and yet were just mere seconds.

My father continued "I have Cancer. I never told anyone, I’ve always thought that a man has to be strong, to be emotionless, but now look at me. I’m nothing but a man that wasted his life on work and didn’t even spend his last years with his family; I don’t want you to repeat my mistakes. Find someone you love, make friends, make a family and spent your time with them and be sure to protect them with everything you have."

I merely nodded. This was just too much to process. I was not used to something like this. My life was just dull, sad and grey, but now I am being told to change it. All of it.

He continued to talk but was now looking straight into my eyes and possibly even my soul. "I have sold my Company and all my belongings, the money will be in your bank account soon. Make the best of it". He said with his voice getting quiet.

I just stood there while I thought about the two paths that now opened for me. Either I now break down the walls that I hid behind for so long or deny the last wish of a dying man. The answer was simple. I smiled for the first time in years and said."Alright, dad, I’ll do that."

He said with a smile and a single tear that rolled down his cheek. "Thank you for fulfilling an old man's last wish. I may have never told you this, but I was always so proud of you and I... Love... You..." I was alone, but I had a goal. Something to fight for and I would be damned if I didn’t use that chance.

After that day. I sold everything I didn't need and moved to a city called Irvine to work for a big company. This company was (dramatic pause) Blizzard Entertainment. Now you might be wondering 'how did someone like me get a job there.' Leisurely, I wasn't a game maker I just made sure everything worked without a problem. And my first working day was visiting BlizzCon, Not really. I had to do a lot of planning and had to walk around everywhere to make sure that all went without any trouble and I thought that would be the case, or so I thought.

Blizzcon Day

Everything went normal after all that paperwork…..I still have nightmares about being squashed by giant amounts of bills and documents. Now after that was over, I just had to look around the entire Blizzcon at 3 pm and be done, but soon I heard something that caught my attention and filled me with... hatred.

A young and female voice said with a sad and cracking sound."Please, I don't have anything, just let me go."

A deep voice said in a mocking tone."Ohh but I see something very nice around your neck. Such a beautiful necklace must be costly. NOW GIVE IT TO ME!"

As I came around the corner, I saw what was happening it disgusted me NO! It made my blood boil, that piece of trash was trying to steal from that woman and even threaten her. She had blue eyes, and brown hair, she was also slim and half a head smaller than me. So, I called in the security while I kept slowly and soundless advancing behind him to give him what he deserved.

She said with a determined tone"M-My Necklace No you don't understand my mother gave it to me before she passed away. You can't have".

He gave a cruel smile as he was about to hurt her saying "Big words for a small girl, but hey it's your choice so how about you share the same FATE AS HER !" he said but when he was about to grab the woman something happened. Something that he didn't expect. ME.

I now stood behind IT. This piece of scum with a very very grim face and expose veins on the forehead. I channeled all the anger that I had and went through many painful ideas I had in mind and knew what I had to do. I used the most painful and destructive attack and landed a critical hit you can use on a male enemy. Now you might be wondering what I am talking about, but the answer is actually quite simple. I used the Atomic Nutcracker. My foot hit so hard I honestly think I heard something pop.

*Bash *

*Pop*

"ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH"

*Thud*

That was his last words before he fell unconscious due to immense pain and before the security brought that worm away. Now that that was dealt with I turned my attention to the woman that I just saved.

I asked in a curious yet caring tone."Miss, are you alright?" before I could say anything more she jumped at me and while also hugging and crying on my chest.

She said while burying her face in my chest while crying her eyes out. "Thank you *sob* thank you so much *sob* I don't know what he would have done if you didn't come here *sob*."

I didn't know what to do at that moment. I was just stunned by what just now happened. It was like my body just went on autopilot as my brain did.
I said in and fatherly and calm voice."Hey, stop crying it's over, smile and don't bother with the what If questions." I then returned the hug, but still I couldn't believe it, a woman was crying at my chest, and I was comforting her, ME.

I continued in a friendly tone."So, how about I show you what else there is I'm sure that there is still a lot worth seeing " she just smiled a bit and nodded.

We spent the rest of the day together at Blizzcon while getting to know a bit about each other. Her name was Elizabeth Gold heart, and I really liked her being near her, or maybe I just liked her.

When the sun was already setting, and the fun ended, I said goodbye with a warm smile on my face, but what came afterward just blew me away.
With a gentle smile on her face, she said. "Thanks for the day, Matthew. It was a very nice evening even with that incident. Ohh and before I forget to take this". She handed me a piece of paper when she finished her sentence.

"What is this?" I asked and yes I know I was a blockhead back then so to answer your thought yes she did give me, the blockhead, her phone number

"it's my phone number; I hope we can meet again in the future under better conditions *honk* oh, that my ride, by Matthew".That's what she said, and everything happened while I just stood there while trying to progress what just happened. When I came back to my senses, I remembered a song.

After that day my life changed a lot over the next six years my boss heard what happened and gave me a salary increase SWEET and I began to enjoy life more instead of just wasting it with sadness.

Elisabeth and I got to know each other after that day, and she was everything I ever could have ever dreamed off. A smart, funny and kind woman, and yes she was also beautiful, but I don't care for beauty to much.

Elisabeth grew up in a wealthy family, but her parents got killed in an alley at midnight after a visit at the theater, and she didn't have any sibling, so she lost everything that genuinely meant something to her. Her family.
Back to happier topics, we have spent many weekends together and even went on a few dates but we were both too shy for anything more but we lived happily, and that was all that counted. We spent so many hours together playing any game that we got in our hands, watched movies, watched and read anything My Little Pony related. It was perfect

But Life just had to be a big and bloody JERK!!!

She got sick, very sick. It affected her health a lot, and she spent many hours at the doctors. You don't know how much despair I felt watching as someone important to me NO!... Someone I loved was dying, and the only thing you can do is watch I couldn't just let her die, there were still so many things we could have done, places to see and so much more.

I visited her every day for countless hours because I just couldn't live without her anymore. One day I went to a store and bought something extraordinary. I went to the hospital and put all my courage together to make her happy one more time. When I got to her bed, I kneeled down and proposed marriage. Yes, I know that this insane but I didn't care. She said many times 'Yes!' while crying a bit, I put her the ring on and we kissed it was an unforgettable moment... She died short after the kiss.
Her funeral was. Nice. Many people came, and I said a few beautiful things... You know the drill!

My life then went back gray again no happiness, no color just pathetic me at the deepest, darkest point in my life. After a week I got a package containing a document from Elizabeth saying that she left me her fortune after everything got sold, but money didn't make me any happier at all. But what made me happy and sad was a goodbye letter.

Dear Matthew when you read this I am most likely already on the other side, And I want to thank you for making my last few years the best years of my life,
I enjoyed every second with you; you brightened up my day,
Thank you so much for always staying by my side no matter what happened. I have sold everything that I owned so you can maybe make another girl happy. I don't want you to be sad so please don't give up just because I am no longer there, please do it for me.
Thank you, Matthew, my love

Yours Sincerely

Elisabeth Goldheath

I read the letter so many times and cried for so many hours. It was just too much. After that day I couldn't take it anymore, it was too much for me, I was tired; so sick and tired of everything. During my “I want to die” phase rumors came around of people disappearing I knew that very well I read many displacer fanfics, and I knew what I had to do now I sold everything besides what I needed for the trip.

I searched on many conventions with no luck. But then Blizzcon came around the corner, and I used all my unused holiday days for that specific day and a ticket, and I got both in the end.

I went to Blizzcon in my business suit with a suitcase. The suitcase was full. And do you all remember when I said I was proficient at collecting money? Well, I managed to collect up to roughly 4.3 MILLION DOLLARS. I also had to use several checks because such a huge amount of cash doesn’t fit into a suitcase.

Finally, after 4 hours of searching, I found him, the man of the day, the one and only, THE MERCHANT.

There he was a man in complete black clothing, my one-way ticket away. So many thoughts raced through my head what will I say, what will he say, what-. "make a photo it holds longer or just say something if you found something that interests you" he said.

I thought with high hopes.'Now or never'.

I said in a pleasant tone "Greetings mister Merchant I have come to buy a 'few' of your items."

He asked in a curious tone, "Please no mister stuff that is my boss and normally people don't search for me. So what does a businessman want from me?"

I said while pointing at the suitcase."Well, you see I heard about items you possess and what things you can do so I thought we could make a deal, money is no issue,"

He said in an interested tone "Oh really? Well let's see what we can do" Ha got him; he is interested.

I told him in the salesman's voice "I want to purchase three things. The first is an alicorn horn, the second is a pair of alicorn wings. As for the third, we will discuss that when I see the first two."

He said in a thoughtful voice. "Hmmm... That is a rather interesting purchase wait one moment please" he requested, and pulled those two items from…...somewhere and put them on the table."Here you are."
With a raised eyebrow I asked, "Any specific reason why they are both black?"

In a joking tone, he said."I also got them in pink if you don't want them" my face paled a bit . "hahaha the look on your face now what is the last item you want ?"

"Everything," I said. Looking somewhat shocked he asked."Everything as in everything in my shop?"

I said a Pinkie Pie like voice "No dummy. I want the power to do anything such as items, powers, knowledge, etc. Without drawbacks of course,"

He answered "I am afraid I can't do that-" I cut him off. I opened the suitcase and said with a wide grin "4.3 million dollars for you if you fulfill my request."

I could see his jaw hitting the ground his eyes bulged so hard I could see it even though he wore a mask. It was so hard not to laugh at that.

After the Merchant calmed himself. "Ah *cough* well I have to discuss that with my boss, please wait here." I nodded and waited for him to return while trying to not scream like a fangirl.

2 HOURS LATER...

After 2 hours he came back with an Orb that glowed in many different colors. It was almost like he held a celestial object of pure light.

"My boss is okay with that under one small condition." He told me. I nodded, willing to agree to near anything because I was so CLOSE to my goal."You will get a ton of abilities, memories and pure multi-usable magic power but for you to get the rest you have to do some tasks, alright?"

I said with a smile on my face."We got a deal, partner " I pushed the suitcase to him. When the Merchant opened it, his smile fell when he realized that he had to count 4.3 million dollars in cash and checks.
After 25 minutes of counting, he said."Good, that should be sufficient."
Curious I asked."Ok, and what happens now?"

The Merchant explained."Oh right. Since you have bought so many things, simple displacement won't work as it does for one item Displacer. You need to be unconscious for this." I nodded with a determined look "Good, have fun on the other side."

He closed the suitcase and lifted it in the air before slammed it on my head...Ohh... So that’s how it feels to be beaten unconscious with 4.3 million dollars and hello darkness…..
