A rip in space has opened, and now a black shadow stalks Equestria's skies. With the city of Canterlot on lockdown, the surrounding lands under a state of emergency, and the cold faces of ashen statues building in number by the day, hysteria and panic grips the entire populace.

Faced with an entity like nothing they've ever encountered, Princess Twilight and her friends join forces with Equestria's very first champions. Together, they must find a way to counter the darkness draining their land of life, before all of Equestria perishes.
