Ever since Goten came, Gohan has probably got a little too protective.

Not in the: 'You shouldn't talk to my brother.' Way but the staying up almost all night every night watching over him way.

Mainly because...

The creature.

'Is it beyond my power? Is it ever coming to Equestria?' Gohan thought.

He always thought that until he fell asleep on the floor and woke up very early.

He couldn't afford an upgrade to the house yet, but he was close.

It was time for the Grand Galloping Gala.

'His first, huh.' Gohan thought.

So, Goten needed new clothes and some kind of formal wear.

Once Goten woke up, Gohan made him a nice rice and vegetable breakfast and then took him to Rarity's boutique.

"Oh, your first Grand Galloping Gala!" Rarity exclaimed. "The excitement, the anticipation! I wouldn't miss this for all the jewels in Equestria!" She said, putting a bow on Sweetie Belle's dress.

She had just spent her time making dresses for the Crusaders.

All that was left was her friends, including Goten.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack were playing Harmony.

"We're going to the Gala~! We're going to the Gala~!" Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle exclaimed while hopping.

Gohan and Goten just opened the doors!

Gohan was carrying his own formal wear. He planned to wear it on top of his gi again.

"Oh! Gohan and Goten! Come in!" Rarity said.

"Goten?" Scootaloo asked.

"Hey everyone." Gohan said.

The two fillies looked at Goten.

"Uh... Did one of Gohan's relatives visit?" Sweetie Belle asked.

"You could say that, darling." Rarity said.

"He's my brother!" Gohan said. "Why don't you talk to the other kids?" He asked.

Goten was a little scared to but walked over to the dressed fillies anyway.

"Um... Hi." Goten said.

"Hello." Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle said.

"I'm Goten..." Goten said awkwardly.

"I'm Scootaloo." Scootaloo said.

"I'm Sweetie Belle." Sweetie Belle said.

"Um... How are you today?" Goten asked.

"Good, good. We're going to the Gala!" Scootaloo said.

"I heard it was a party for very important people." Goten said.

"And you are correct, Goten! Now, would you like a tuxedo or something similar to Gohan's formal wear?" Rarity asked.

"OOH! I know! Can I draw it?" Goten asked.

"Well, sure, darling!" Rarity said, using her magic to grab a pencil and paper. She also grabbed crayons because why not?

She laid it down on the table.

Gohan looked and smiled. 'I guess being a big brother does have it's moments.' He thought.

"We're going to the Gala~! We're going to the Gala~!" Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo began singing again.

"Alright y'all. Keep it down. It ain't like it's a life changing experience or nothi...." Applejack said, watching Applebloom emerge from the changing booth.

Then she had some change in her talk.

"My little sister's all grown up!" Applejack said with tears. She blew her nose into Rainbow Dash's tail, hilariously.

"Hey!" Rainbow Dash yelled, pulling her tail away.

"Uh... Did one of Gohan's relatives come by?" Applebloom asked the Crusaders.

"That's Gohan's brother." Scootaloo said.

"Him? A brother? Now that is interesting." Applebloom said.

Goten finished drawing his photo. He handed it to Rarity.

"My assumption was correct! Being an artist runs in the family!" Rarity said, marveling at Goten's superb work.

"Thank you." Goten said.

"I shall fashion this immediately!" Rarity said, taking all kinds of measurements for Goten.

"W-What's happening?" Goten asked.

"She's taking some more measurements so she can make you some clothes." Gohan said.

"Okay." Goten said.

Rarity finished and began grabbing all sorts of fabric and threads and needles.

"I'm going in the changing booth." Gohan said, doing just that.

The Crusaders went to Goten.

"Has Gohan taught you how to fly?" Scootaloo asked.

Goten shook his head. "He will, though." He said.

"How strong are you against Gohan?" Applebloom asked.

"I don't know..." Goten said.

"Are they just trying to make small talk to him? Or..." Applejack whispered to Rainbow Dash.

"Beats me. I'm still surprised Gohan's brother of all ponies came." Rainbow Dash whispered.

Gohan stepped out of the booth.

"Same look as always, huh Gohan?" Applejack asked.

"Yep!" Gohan said, sporting his Super Saiyan look with his formal wear.

"Wow! Gohan, you look just like you in that photo of you and dad eating pasta!" Goten said.

"Is he joking?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Nope!" Gohan said.

"I am finished!" Rarity said.

"Wow. That was quick." Rainbow Dash said.

Rarity put Goten's formal wear in his arms.

"Now go into that booth and change into these!" Rarity said a little too excitedly.

Goten went into the booth.

"I wonder what he drew." Gohan said.

"You'll see." Rarity said.

"Maybe you'll have the same reaction as Applejack over here. And I'm not letting you use my tail!" Rainbow Dash said.

Gohan chuckled.

The Crusaders awaited Goten's new attire.

Goten emerged from the booth with his gi neatly folded in his hands.

Gohan was very happy. "You look amazing!" He said.

"Golly! He looks good!" Applebloom said.

"Yeah, it looks historical and stuff." Scootaloo said.

"Yeah, he's cool." Rainbow Dash said.

Goten walked over to the Crusaders and climbed on top of the rising floor where they were.

The trio began to sing "We're going to the Gala~!" Again.

Goten kind of joined in with a small volume.

Discord was creeping around.

He turned his eye into a mirror.

"This is gonna be the best night ever!" The trio yelled.

The four were creeped out and screamed. They also ran towards their sisters/brother/sisterly pony.

Discord shortened his eye to normal size again.

"Discord!" Gohan yelled.

Goten was clinging on to Gohan.

"I don't suppose these adorable little- Huh?" Discord asked, looking at Gohan and Goten.

"Did one of your relatives visit, Gohan?" Discord asked.

"My brother is here, yes. And you scared him!" Gohan said.

"My apologies. I don't suppose these little adorable cutie pies have their own tickets to the Gross Gruesome Gala, do they?" Discord asked, patting Applebloom's head.

Applebloom smacked his hand away and stuck her tongue at him.

"Ahem. To answer your rather rude question, they're going as our dates! Our plus ones!" Rarity said, wrapping a hoof around Sweetie Belle.

"We're plus ones~! We're plus ones~!" The trio began to sing yet again.

Discord stuck his antler and horn into his ears. "Yes, yes, yes! I believe I got that!" He said, teleporting away in jealousy.

"Gohan? Who was that?" Goten asked.

"Discord, god of chaos, now reformed." Gohan said.

"He scares me." Goten said, clinging onto Gohan tighter.

"Don't worry, he's actually nice." Gohan said.

It was the Grand Galloping Gal!

And it was boring as ever, Jesus.

So I'm going to entertain you with a story a priest told me.

And Jesus said: "You fool!" And he fired the Kamehameha, and destroyed Lucifer!

Okay back to the story.

So the Gala was filled with sophisticated ponies.

Twilight and Celestia were atop a staircase chatting away.

"I must say, it's been very nice having you take over some of the planning responsibilities for this year's Gala." Celestia said.

"Anything I can do to make things easier on you." Twilight said.

"Thank you, Twilight. I am quite looking forward to just enjoying the Gala for once." Celestia said.

Gohan and Goten approached the two.

"Princess Celestia!" Gohan exclaimed.

"Gohan! Who is this?" Celestia asked, bowing her head so that her head was on the same level as Goten.

"This is my brother Goten!" Gohan said.

"H-Hello ma'am." Goten said, cowering again.

"Don't be afraid, little one. I am absolutely honored that you are here tonight." Celestia said.

"Thank you." Goten said.

"How old are you?" Celestia asked.

"I'm six." Goten said.

"Great! I hope you enjoy the rest of the Grand Galloping Gala." Celestia said.

"Thank you, princess." Goten said.

Then a horn was played.

"Announcing the spirit of chaos: Discord! And his guest, uh..." The stallion yelled.

Discord whispered something into his ear.

"The Smooze!" He yelled.

The Smooze was this weird slime creature that smiled. It had a red bow tie and a blue top hat.

Ponies and people were absolutely repulsed by it.

Discord sported an orange tux with a red bow tie and an orange hat.

"Good evening, everypony! What a glorious affair!" Discord exclaimed.

The Smooze ate a trumpet.

"He does like shiny things, the little rascal." Discord said.

"Gohan, I'm scared." Goten said, clinging on to Gohan.

"To be fair, this is equally as scary for me as it is for you, Goten." Gohan said.

"Uh... I will handle this." Twilight said, flying to Discord.

She also dragged him to a secluded location.

"What are you doing here with- That!?" Twilight whispered.

"Now, now, now. The Smooze may be it, but it's it with a heart of, well, blob." Discord said.

The Smooze slowly moved across the floor, grossing out everyone with not only it's presence but it's residue.

"This night is extremely important to me Discord!" Twilight said, referring to Celestia. "Especially Gohan! His brother is here! So keep it under control." She added.

"Yes, yes, yes, of course. Tell me, have you seen Fluttershy anywhere?" Discord asked, walking away.

"Gohan." Celestia said.

"Yes, princess?" Gohan asked.

"How did Goten get here?" Celestia whispered.

"The same way I did, with a magical wish granting dragon." Gohan whispered.

Celestia nodded. "Is your current abode large enough to sustain you two?" She asked.

"Not really, but we managed to make it work out." Gohan said.

"I will provide a larger property for you." Celestia said.

"Really?" Gohan asked.

"It's one of the least things I can do to repay you." Celestia said.

"Wow... Thank you, princess." Gohan said.

Celestia nodded.

"We're at the Gala~!" The Crusaders sang and they entered with Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity.

Discord fed the Smooze with a diamond, making it a little bigger.

He saw Fluttershy talking to Treehugger at a table.

So he barged in on their conversation.

He tried 'accidentally' bumping into Fluttershy.

"Oh Fluttershy! I didn't see you there." Discord said.

Fluttershy was still talking to Treehugger.

"How did you even know to look for an ore on a waterfall?" Fluttershy asked.

"Ahem." Discord said.

He said it louder.

Then he said it so fucking dramatically that it finally got the damn attention of Fluttershy who gets scared by a damn leaf touching her back but wasn't scared by Discord 'bumping' into her.

Sorry.

"Discord! I thought you weren't coming!" Fluttershy said.

"No. I actually never said that." Discord said.

And then Discord, Fluttershy and Treehugger decided to have a nice conversation.

"But funny how you remembered it that way- Anyway, good to see you, Tree... Friend, is it? Your name is slipping my mind right now, how strange." Discord said.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Treehugger." Treehugger said, lifting one hoof up.

"You have MET me before, actually!" Discord said, snorting.

"Cool! Like, in another life, maybe?" Treehugger asked.

You can definitely tell she's on weed.

"You've got to be kidding! You don't remember ME?" Discord asked, then taking his hat off to show his antler and horn.

Treehugger chuckled slightly. "I meet a lot of different creatures... I'm very interested... In those two over there... Never seen that before..." She said, slowly pointing a hoof at Gohan and Goten.

"Oh, that's Gohan and his little brother Goten. They're very nice." Fluttershy said.

"Yes, yes, yes, anyway, as I was saying, it's just great" Discord said, wrapping an arm around Fluttershy. "to be with my OLDEST, BESTEST friend." He said.

"Am I really your oldest, bestest friend?" Fluttershy asked, gleeful.

"You?" Discord asked before laughing. "Of course not! You think I don't have other friends? I'm centuries old! I was talking about the Smooze!" He said, showing Fluttershy to the blob.

"Smoozeface, the Smoozinator! Well, I mean, that's what we called him back in college." Discord said.

He made the Smooze appear on top of the table. "Smooze! This is Fluttershy and... Hm... What was it, Tree... Embrace?" Discord asked, trying to aggravate Treehugger.

It failed.

"Oh, I like that! It's so in rhythm with my life force... Maybe I'll change it!" Treehugger said.

Fluttershy giggled. "I can't believe I've never heard of you talk about the Smooze before!" She said, poking it as it slid off the table. "It sounds like you two are so close!" She said.

"Well, I'm glad you got that." Discord said, crossing his arms. "Because that's what is true! We are!" He said, teleporting to the Smooze and hugging it. "Very close." He said.

"That's wonderful! The four of us should go out to dinner sometime!" Fluttershy said.

Discord accidentally hugged it so hard that it got squeezed in half.

It quickly formed together again.

"We should all go to dinner sometime!? Have you no heart!?" Discord asked.

Then a scream could be heard.

The Smooze was inching closer to two elderly ponies.

"Oh! Well it looks like some ponies want to mingle, we'll be back!" Discord said, floating away.

"Oh, okay! Treesie and I would like to talk to you more later!" Fluttershy said.

Then Discord returned. "Treesie? Really? Sort of a juvenile name, don't you think?" He asked.

Then glass shattered and a scream was heard again.

"Smoozie! Wait up!" Discord said, being the hypocrite he is.

Gohan and Goten were staying with Celestia until Goten decided that he wanted to go somewhere.

"This isn't very fun." Goten said.

"I know, the last time I was here I just flew around the entire time." Gohan said.

"Can we do that?" Goten whined.

"Sure. Why not?" Gohan asked.

The two started to walk toward the entrance, where Goten jumped on top of Gohan's back.

Gohan was giving him a piggyback ride.

Now they flew around Canterlot, giving Goten a sense of adventure.

"Whee!" Goten yelled, laughing as well.

Gohan still couldn't help but feel bad and scared about the monster who destroyed all of Earth's fighters.

He couldn't sense anything unusually large.

During that, Discord stuck the Smooze outside the Gala where Rarity was.

She screamed because the blob took her gems from her dress and she was covered in sticky residue.

She burst through the doors.

"That creature took my jewels!" Rarity yelled.

The Smooze was also doing that to another pony.

"Discord! I thought I told you to keep your friend under control!" Twilight said. "Do you want me to get Gohan!?" She asked.

"Oh please, I have better things to do than to watch that thing all night." Discord said.

He noticed Fluttershy and Treehugger were RIGHT next to him.

"What I mean to say is, I'll make sure none of his residue gets on anypony..." Discord said, grabbing a vacuum cleaner and sucking up Rarity's dress.

Rarity trotted away in embarrassment.

"Thank you! It's alright, everypony! Let's get back to enjoying this magical evening!" Twilight exclaimed.

And Gohan was still flying.

"Faster! Faster!" Goten yelled.

Gohan did just that.

"Fastest!" Goten yelled.

"Are you sure about that?" Gohan asked.

"Yep!" Goten said.

Then the two flew around Canterlot over fifteen times in like, 3 seconds.

"Too fast! Too fast!" Goten yelled.

Gohan slowed down.

"You're really fast! I bet nobody can beat you!" Goten said.

"Well, I don't know about that." Gohan said.

During that, Discord stuck the Smooze in a closet full of gold and diamonds.

He even did a stand up comedy show which everyone loved!

Just kidding. He was embarrassed.

And the Smooze BURST out of the closet, INCREDIBLY enlarged!

It also stuck everyone to the ground.

Even Rainbow Dash couldn't get out.

Twilight's magic did nothing, too.

Celestia's horn was rendered useless.

Rarity was scared about her shoes being ruined.

Pinkie Pie was using her sister Maud Pie as a boat.

Fluttershy and Treehugger were stuck to the wall.

Gohan sensed a disturbance. "We're going back." He said.

"Okay." Goten said.

Gohan flew towards the party and-

"What happened!?" Gohan asked.

"It's icky!" Goten yelled.

"Gohan! Blast it!" Twilight yelled.

Gohan fired a blast at it.

Barely did anything.

"I mean do the Kamehameha!" Twilight said.

"I'll destroy Canterlot if I did that at the ground!" Gohan said.

Nobody knew how to fix it.

Then Goten had a great idea. "Gohan, I know how we can get it in one place!" He said.

"Really? How?" Gohan asked.

Goten leaped off of Gohan and turned Super Saiyan.

He ran around the Smooze at breakneck speeds.

The Smooze was being piled together, as were the ponies.

"Gohan! Get the ponies out!" Goten said.

Gohan did just that.

The teamwork was superb.

Gohan managed to get all of the ponies out of it's icky grasp while Goten pushed it all into one blob.

"Good job, you two!" Twilight said.

"But what will we do about this ick!?" Rarity asked.

"Oh yes. We're still stuck to the wall..." Fluttershy said.

"I know... Like, the Smooze has a harshed flow... Like, his senses are agitated..." Treehugger said.

Goten and Gohan were both trapping the Smooze with their aura.

Discord appeared in front of Treehugger. "You don't know anything about rare creatures! I've known Smoozeface for ages, he's not agitated! He's partying down!" He said, dancing.

"All he needs is like, some auditory therapy." Treehugger said. "Hey, banana hair creatures. Like, stop running around it. I, will calm it." She added.

"You sure!?" Gohan asked.

"I know. He'll calm down with some sonic bless." Treehugger said.

"Do you even know what you just said!?" Discord asked.

Gohan and Goten stopped circling the Smooze, and it seemed like it was ready to go around again.

Then Treehugger started singing some weird thing.

All of the Smooze's residue and ick started to go in one place.

Fluttershy and Treehugger were off the walls.

"Let go, Smooze. Bliss out." Treehugger said before singing again.

Now every single bit of the Smooze was in one place.

"Wow! That was cool!" Goten said, powering down.

"It worked!" Twilight said.

Everyone cheered for Treehugger.

"That was the most magical thing I've ever seen done with animals!" Fluttershy said.

Discord was jealous as hell.

"Well, thanks, everypony, it makes perfect sense that your magic doesn't work on him, he only responds to vibrations that peace out his energy fields..." Treehugger said.

"THAT'S IT! I've had enough of you, Treehugger!" Discord yelled, appearing in front of Treehugger.

"Oh man... You're really bumming me out. Can you, like, lower your voice a skosh?" Treehugger asked.

"A skosh!? A SKOSH!?" Discord asked, ripping a hole in the plane of existence to another.

He made Treehugger float to the hole.

"Discord! Let her down before I- I mean, we turn you to stone!" Gohan yelled.

Treehugger was scared. "Whoa! What is that!?" She asked, pointing at the weird cloth snake with googly eyes.

"Relax! I'm not going to hurt you! I'm just going to send you to another dimension! I can't have you interfering with my relationship with Fluttershy anymore!" Discord said.

"Let her down, you big meanie!" Goten yelled.

"Meanie!?" Discord asked.

"Stop it, Discord!" Fluttershy yelled, flying up to Discord.

"I will! Just as soon as she's gone. Then we'll have a good laugh," Discord said, making a table, chairs and tea appear. "about this whole affair with our regular Tuesday Teas!" He said.

Fluttershy was clearly not happy.

"Don't worry, Fluttershy! We'll stop him!" Twilight said, standing with the rest of the Mane 6.

Discord threw at shiny disco ball at them, making the Smooze envelop them all.

"Discord! I swear!" Gohan yelled, beginning to charge up his Kamehameha.

"I'm doing her a favor, Fluttershy! It's a lovely dimension!" Discord said, then making a slideshow appear.

"Sand beaches, the attentive wait staff, I mean, okay! The humidity isn't great, but isn't that the case these days?" Discord asked.

Gohan had his Kamehameha at full charge.

"Gohan, hold your fire! Discord, I don't understand why you're doing this! We were all getting along so well!" Fluttershy shouted.

"As well as we COULD! Considering you've already stomped all over our friendship by inviting HER to the biggest night of the year! It's as if I DIDN'T MATTER at all!" Discord shouted.

"Did you REALLY think I'd abandon you just because I had a new FRIEND!?" Fluttershy shouted.

"YES! Because that's what you did!" Discord retorted.

"No! Discord! I invited a friend to a party! I didn't abandon you! What if you had a friend that you could discuss chaos based magic with? Would that mean we weren't friends anymore!?" Fluttershy shouted.

"A- Well, no, I suppose not." Discord stammered. "It would just mean I have different friends for different things- Oh. Oh dear... I appears I overreacted just a skosh." Discord said.

"More like a LOT of skoshes! Treehugger, could you give us a minute?" Fluttershy asked.

Treehugger smiled and nodded.

Gohan stopped his Kamehameha.

"Why'd you stop?" Goten asked.

"You'll see." Gohan said.

"I'm just so new to this friendship thing... It's so much more complicated that it looks." Discord said.

"Do you think you MAYBE owe somepony an apology?" Fluttershy asked.

Discord made a flower appear for Fluttershy, but she whacked it away.

"Not me!" Fluttershy said.

"Oh! Oh, yes, right." Discord said, closing the portal and letting Treehugger land on a soft pillow.

He then pulled all of the gold and gems the Smooze happened to eat and returned it.

He apologized to Treehugger, and as expected, he was forgiven.

The party was going on as usual again, and Discord even apologized to the Smooze for using him.

Then the Smooze kissed him on the cheek.

Now everyone was dancing on the dance floor.

Except Gohan, he just did not want to dance.

Goten was doing goofy dances with the Crusaders and Pinkie Pie.

'This has to be just the best Gala ever!' Gohan thought.

Mission complete: Make Goten's first Gala amazing.

Now, Gohan's going to the Friendship Games!
