In the year 2016, humanity and Equestria made contact. Initially, things were amicable, with the ponies granting humanity a wonderous gift - a potion that cured all ills and granted those on the verge of death a second chance, at the cost of their physical forms. But when it became clear that the Equestrians' true goal was to convert the whole human race into ponies, regardless of whether they wanted it or not, humanity declared war.

Yon-Soo Park was a beloved pop idol, actor, and model in his home of South Korea. But when the war was declared, he now has to take the call to arms. Despite being way in over his head, he is determined to help in the battle for survival, and maybe become something even greater than he imagined.

Porter Stanley has been stationed in South Korea, served in the wars in the Middle East, and has been looking forward to returning home. But he has to put those plans on hold with the new war, especially when one of its first victims was someone close to him.

Hyong-Jin Kang was born in North Korea, drafted into the army to protect the Great Leader in response to the Solar Empire's first major assault on humanity. But when things go south, he has to team up with people that would normally be his greatest enemies. As he fights against a greater enemy dedicated to the extermination of his species, he learns more about the outside world and of the new friends he makes.

Firebrand is a disgraced Royal Guard who has come to greatly appreciate and love humanity's cultures. With the war, he's forsaken his original home and dedicated himself to fighting for humanity's survival, despite knowing the distrust some have for him. But his past won't leave him alone so easily.

Aquamarine Glimmer and Comet Tail are a mother-daughter pair forced to leave behind their once comfortable lives when Equestria abandons its own principles. Wanting their old lives and family back, they decide to help in the fight, even though it may mean losing themselves.

With the help of soldiers and civilians, human and pony (and more) alike, this group of unlikely misfits will become one of the greatest symbols of the resistance against the Solar Empire's xenocidal crusade.
