Chapter 7: Interlude: Summertime in The City!
Previous Chapter Next ChapterAuthor's Note : This chapter is an interlude that shows what other characters in the EQG world are up to during the story, it bounces around a little to before and ahead of the last chapter at times, some characters will tie into things later, some won't, sounds silly I know, but gotta keep you guys on your toes! ;P
Sunset & SciTwi
Sunset looked at Twilight with a rather disgruntled face "Really, you get me all riled-up and you change your mind at the last minute!?" Sunset angrily huffed as she looked at the purple skinned beauty who was putting her glasses back on.
"I-i'm sorry Sunset, I-it's just" Twilight mumbled uncertain of how to answer as she pulled the sheets up trying to hid her naked body.
"You're still hung up about Timber Spruce, aren't you?" Sunset asked already knowing the answer.
Twilight just looked at Sunset and sighed "Yes, I mean, I know it's silly i've been dating both of you for months, its just...." Twilight paused
"The more you think about how he doesn't know about us makes you feel like you're cheating on him, and that you feel like you need to tell him even though you're afraid it would ruin what you have with him either because he would feel like you have been lying to him or he might be some jerk who ends up hating you when he finds out you're bisexual?" Sunset finished rather non-chelauntly.
"ahh....yea, more or less" Twilight nervously chuckled. "sorry"
Sunset just looked at Twilight and sighed. She cared for Twilight deeply, truly she did, but sometimes the girl could be a bit of a handful. Like her Equestrian counterpart she seemed to worry about every little thing at times, and she seemed to be even more OCD and insecure then Princess Twilight had ever been. Not that Sunset minded that, it's part of what made her little SciTwi so adorable. At the same time though Sunset had to admit this whole thing with Timber Spruce was starting to get on her nerves. She had been fine with Twilight going out on dates with the young man as Timber actually did seem to be a decent guy and she knew that aside from a couple of awkward hugs and a quick peck on the cheek Timber had never gotten anywhere near as far with Twilight as she had. Still part of Sunset admitted she wouldn't mind having Twilight all to herself, she was after all quite beautiful, even if she was too humble to ever admit it. when freed from her stereotypical "nerdy" clothing Twilight's skin glistened in the moonlight the deep purple rather mesmerizing, her lavender eyes were like deep pools that paradoxically echoed both the wisdom of a soul wise beyond its years and the uncertainty of a child looking for reassurance in another. Her dark hair much longer in length when not done up made her look as regal as her Equestrian counterpart and her cheeks were ever cute and pinchable.
"Uhh...Sunset, earth to Sunset!" Twilight said snapping her fingers at Ms. Shimmer's face.
"Oh, ahh, sorry Twi, I just got..ahh, lost in thought." Sunset chuckled
"Yea right, you were just ogling me you pervert!" Twilight mockingly scolded as she wrapped both her hands and her blanket around her bussom.
"Was not!" Sunset protested. "Though you can't blame me you are adorable!" She chuckled "and thanks for acting so insecure because I almost forgot to take a peak at your little friends" Sunset teased looking down at Twilight's breasts, the purple girl just blushing. While not quite as big as Fluttershy's *but then again who's were* Twilight was fairly well endowed, definitely well endowed larger then Sunset's by a good couple of cup sizes. "how come Sonata's the only person to go through the portal to come out the other side stacked" Sunset internally pouted looking down at her average sized breasts before turning her attention back to Twilight.
"LIsten Twilight if this is bothering you that bad why don't I just drive you down to Camp Everfree tomorrow and you can talk things out with Timber, if he really care about you he won't do anything to hurt you, that much I can assure you" Sunset smiled as she rubbed the back of her hand against Twilight's cheek.
Twilight didn't say anything for a good long while as she thought Sunset's proposition over. "OK" she eventually replied. "But how will we get there?"
"Well your big brother did leave his car here incase we needed to use it" Sunset reminded her.
"But that's only for emergencies!" Twilight nervously shrieked "I mean I know he and Cadence said we could use it while they were at that book retreat with my mom and dad, but.....what if, what if you wrecked it!?" Twilight panicked.
"Ugg, Ms. Sparkle, why i'm offended!" Sunset teased looking at Twilight with a pout.
"Sunset it took you three times to pass Mr. Cranky Doodle's driving test!" Twilight stated.
"Yea, well, can you blame me, it's not my fault that Fluttershy and Rarity gave me bad advice those first two times!" Sunset pouted once more. "Though in hindsight it makes sense that Applejack would be the best driver I guess" Sunset chuckled remembering it had been the cowgirl's advice that had finally helped her pass.
"Anyway I promise i'll be careful, it's not like the highway out to the camp is ever that busy anyway, it'll be fine, I promise!" Sunset reassured her love as she put her arm on Twilight's shoulder and smiled softly
"OK, I guess-if you don't mind" Twilight nervously replied.
"Not at all, now c'mon sweetie, let's get some rest" Sunset yawned as she laid down next to Twilight and closed her eyes, the still unsure purple maiden eventually deciding to do her best to try to relax and do the same.
"I take it back, I don't want to go to the camp!" Twilight whined as she hyperventilated into a paper bag she had handy in the passenger seat. Sunset just staring at her and rolling her eyes. "Sorry Twi, but this is for your own good and you know it" Sunset sternly replied much to the adorkable girl's dismay. "Besides we're almost there, see!" Sunset stated as she pointed ahead and the two could see the Camp Everfree Flag over the horizon. "Oh Great, me and my big ideas!" Twilight whined again. Sunset just smiling doing her best not to laugh as they pulled up to the edge of the property and looked for a place to park.
Getting out of the car Sunset could tell how nervous Twilight was, the poor girl's legs were buckled down and shaking. Sunset merely smiled at Twilight as she walked-up to her. "Listen, it'll be fine, I promise, no matter what happens i'll be here for you" Sunset reassured the nervous nerdette. Twilight just gulped and nodded in reply. "OK then, let's go say hi" Sunset teased as she headed towards the campsite, Twilight nervously following behind.
"OK kids, that's enough for today, good work, now go get some lunch in the mess hall, Gloriosa made you all some great PB&J sandwiches!" Timber exclaimed with a smile as he watched his obviously already exhausted campers slowly trudge to the mess hall.
"Well seems things are a lot less exciting here then they were last summer" He heard a voice tease from behind, looking back seeing Sunset and Twilight approaching.
"Oh, hey girls!? What's up!?" Timber asked as he turned around looking at Sunset who was in her usual confident pose, with Twilight obviously much more nervous was partially hidden behind Sunset just blushing and waving.
"Well I wish I could tell you we were just in the neighborhood and decided to stop by, but the truth is Twilight here has something important she wants to tell you" Sunset replied as she stepped aside leaving Twilight in full view of Timber nervous and blushing.
"Something important eh?" Timber teased "Well if my friend and my girlfriend came all the way out to Camp Everfree to tell me I guess it must be" He chuckled giving Twilight a sly smile, he knew Twilight was nervous but there was something about the girl he couldn't help but tease her, she was just so cute when she was nervous.
"Um..yes-well" Twilight stuttered, pausing briefly to look over at Sunset who just gave her a thumbs-up and a wink.
"Y-you see Timber, T-the thing is" Twilight attempted to continue still nervously stuttering.
"C'mon Twi, I don't have all day" Timber laughed trying to get Twilight to spit it out.
"I'M BISEXUAL!!!" Twilight yelled before covering her mouth realizing how loud she had said it looking around grateful to find that the campers were all inside the mess hall by now.
Timber just stared at Twilight for a minute and started laughing.
"W-what's so funny!" Twilight screeched her face still bright red from embarrassment.
"I don't think i've ever heard you be that loud before" Timber replied looking at the now shaking girl. "Listen Twy, i'm glad you finally had the courage to tell me this, but it's really not a big deal, in fact i'm kind of glad" Timber replied.
"Glad?" Twilight asked rather confused
"Yeah" Timber laughed "Now when we go out on dates we can both tell embarrassing stories about the girls we had crushes on in the past!" Timber replied with a smile. Twilight just softly blushing again.
"Um-well...that-that's the other thing I wanted to talk to you about" Twilight responded with a gulp, noticing this time Timber's expression did change to one more serious and confused.
"Y-you see Timber-y-you aren't the only person i'm dating right now" Twilight nervously confessed.
Timber Spruce just looked down at the girl dumbfounded. "Oh, is that so" he said in his more serious camp councilor voice. "So, who is she?" He asked doing the best to keep the obvious pain in his voice to a minimum.
Twilight still shaking nervously pointed over to Sunset, Timber just looking over at the girl trying the best to repress the anger in his expression. Sunset just smiling nervously and waving.
"OK, yeah, that's cool, whatever, you two have fun" Timber quickly replied as he began to walk off.
"TIMBER WAIT!" Twilight yelled again. The boy momentarily pausing before turning around. "Listen Twilight, just, calm down OK, listen-I-I'm not mad, I mean, I am kind of mad but...ugg" Timber huffed "Listen like I said I don't care if you're bisexual or straight or gay or whatever, but Twilight, you- you were dating another person behind my back, and you didn't even think about telling me before now!" Timber exclaimed doing his best to hold back the tears. "How long has this been going on anyway!?" He angrily asked. "Well, since...about the same time I started dating you" Twilight nervously replied. And that was it, that was the last straw for Timber Spruce as he could feel the sense of betrayal rip his heart in two "So it was OK for her to know about us but you didn't want me to know about her, was I just an after thought to you, just some toy to play with on the side when she was too busy!" Timber shouted the tears now rolling down his eyes.
"No-No it's not like that, I just-I....Ohh!" Twilight began to sob.
Timber just let out a deep sigh and did his best to put himself together "Listen Twilight, the time I had with you was great, but this, I-I can't do this. I hope Sunset makes you happy, because I think you and me are done, maybe we can still be friends once summer is over, but right now...right now I think it's best if you leave" Timber responded as he turned around and headed to the mess hall. Twilight just watching him until he dissapeared inside. Turning around to see Sunset behind her as she fell into the girls chest and continued to cry.
Sometime Later Sunset and Twilight were sitting on the couch together watching an old black and white horror movie, trying their best to relax despite the sudden thunderstorm that had popped-up outside causing the lights of Twilight's house to flicker, all of a sudden the doorbell rang causing both the girls to go on alert and look at each other, Twilight squeezing Sunset's arm tightly, Sunset eventually convincing her that it was fine and wiggling her way out of Twilight's grasp to answer the door. Walking towards the door however Sunset did get a sense that something could be wrong, so she clasped her geode necklace tight just encase she and Twy had to pony up, but as she opened she was suprised to see not some spook but instead a rather worse for wear Adagio Dazzle, her hoodie soaked, the girl shaking though sunset wasn't sure from fear or from the cold downpour of rain, either way she could tell her friend and room mate was in need of help, though she had no idea from what.
Indigo Zap
Indigo Zap limped off the bus as she returned to her neighborhood in the uptown part of Canterlot City, the pain in her abdomen still quite strong. "T-that bitch-how, how the hell did she punch that hard? What was that!?" Indigo angrily hugged as she limped back to her home, pausing a bit to catch her breath looking up at the recently renovated manor and smirking "home sweet home" she laughed as she slowly forced herself inside.
The doors of the manor slowly creaked open as Indigo Zap entered her home, like her it was large and rather intimidating on the outside, but on the inside it was still quite empty, most likely because she was the only one home most of the time, her mother being an Olympic gymnast meant she was always off training, sometime she wasn't even in the same country, her father owning a large chain of sports retail stores meant he was pretty busy most of the time as well, meaning the only person at the manor was Indigo and...
"Welcome back Ms. Zap" Ingido heard a kindly old voice greet her.
"And the Butler" Indigo sighed under her breath as the rather old but kind man walked towards the girl
"Ms. Zap, are, are you OK?" The butler nervously asked noticing the young lady seemed to be rather worse for ware.
"I'm fine bootstrap, just needa...rest a bit" Indigo huffed as she did her best to prevent the pain from causing her to fall down or worse pass out.
"Well you don't look very fine to me young lady, now come along let's get you to the infirmary at once" Bootstrap sternly commanded as he motioned for Indigo to hop up on his back
"I'm not a little kid anymore bootstrap, I can walk back there just fine!" Indigo scolded before losing what little energy she had left and began to fall down, bootstrap quickly intervening and managing to catch her before she hit the ground.
"Now now Ms. Zap it is quite evident you are in no condition to be walking on your own right now, I hate to treat you like a child but I must insist you let me take you back to the infirmary room and let me give you a thorough examination, if you've been out rough housing as much as it appears you have I need to know whether or not I should take you to the hospital and whether or not I have to call your parents, I am technically your guardian while they are away after all." Bootstrap explained to the stubborn young female athlete.
Indigo just looked up angrily at the old man but said nothing, eventually just letting out a small grunt which he took as her agreement to his demands.
Back in the mansions private infirmary Bootstrap looked at the mini X-rays he had taken "well nothing seems to be broken but it looks like there is a fair amount of bruising, it appears there might have been some momentary internal bleeding as well but it seems to mysteriously stopped seconds after it started, whoever hit you knew what they were doing, quite frighting really" Bootstrap told the still agitated girl.
"so, what's the prognosis doc?" Indigo mockingly asked her gruff guardian.
"I'm afraid Ms. Zap you are going to have to rest for the rest of the week to let your body heal, but I've been watching you long enough to know that you're too stubborn to listen to me completely so let's compromise, just promise me nothing to extreme, no more getting into fights for at least the rest of the week, only light and short exercises, nothing that puts too much strain on that perfect body of yours" The old man stated "Your mother would kill me if anything happened to you, you know" he finished with a chuckle.
"Huh, yea right" Indigo scoffed looking over at Bootstrap. "That bitch doesn't give two shits about me" she laughed as memories of the past began to flood back to her.....
"Damn it Indigo, how the hell am I supposed to train you to be a Gymnast like me if you don't listen to a damn thing I tell you!" her mother yelled down at the young girl.
"Maybe I don't wanna be a stupid gymnast, OK!" Indigo growled looking up at her mother who just stood over her ominously. "Well maybe we all don't get the luxury of deciding what we want!" The mother scolded "I didn't decide whether or not I got a son or a daughter, I didn't get to decide when your father would be a fool and give up his carrer as a pro football player to start a stupid retail chain, and you don't get decide what you want, you are my daughter and you will do what I say or else!" The woman yelled down at the girl "Or else what you bitch!" Indigo yelled back. "Or else I'll send you to the orphanage just like my father did to my brother and sister!" Indigo's mom threatened as she slapped the poor girl as hard as she could on the cheek, causing Indigo to fall back and cry "If you don't want to be a gymnast fine, but you're going to be something ,you're going to work out everyday you're going to go to the best schools and you are going to be the best at everything you do, You're a Zap and we don't accept anything less then that, got it!" The mother asked her voice menacing and cold. "Y-yes mam Indigo replied still crying wet warm tears that stung the bruise on her cheek her mother had just left.
A few days later Indigo set out on her balcony and sipped her favorite soda looking through her binoculars, as much as she hated to admit it she did kind of enjoy the break from her self imposed extreme exercise regiment, it's not like her mother was home to punish her if she skipped a day or two, and besides Bootstrap had told her to take it easy, in the off chance the monstress did come back to town for some reason she could just blame him, not like anything would happen, Boostrap was her dad's best friend mom might verbally scold him but she wouldn't dare lay a hand on him like she would her. Indigo shook a bit thinking back to all the times her mother had punished her. "s-snap out of it Zap, she's not here, just go back to spying on your neighbors!" She joked to herself as she looked out through the binoculars once more, not quite sure of what she would fine as despite the gossip that people spread about the sweet and elite most of it was false and not much of anything interesting ever really happened, but she persisted her peeping none the less, quickly noticing at the corner of her eye a familiar shape. It took her a moment but she quickly realized that it was the same girl who had sicked the purple runt on her, yes there was no doubt the very same puffy haired yellow skinned girl that had embarrassed her so much and damaged both her body and her pride was leaving her neighbor Octavia Melody's house across the street and walking down to the bus stop.
"Hmm, so little Ms. Poof head has friends in high places?" Indigo chuckled "Good to know!" She deviously smiled as a plan began to form in her head.
Sonata Dusk
Sonata skipped happily along the streets of Canterlot City unsure of exactly where she was going, just happy to be away from what she felt would no doubt be way too much drama even for her. As Sonata skipped she heard a small mew coming from an allyway. Looking in she saw an adroable kitten inside a cardboard box just sitting there meowing.
"aww, what a cute kitty!" Sonata smiled, I could just stare at you all day! The bubbly girl cheered as she went over to stare at and hopefully play with the kitten,
Hours later the sun began to set and Sonata looked up noticing the ally had gotten quite darker
"Wait...did I really spend all day admiring a kitten!?" Sonata asked herself in disbelief. "Eh, surely it can't be that late i'll just hope over to Pinkie's anyway and see what she and Dash are up to! Later Kitty!" The bubbly siren girl chuckled as she waved goodbye to the kitten, the cat just waving back in reply and thinking to itself "That girl was nice, but something tells me she's not all that bright"
Bonus: Professor Whooves
"Statue inspection Log #0013 "After careful study of the trans-dimensional portal I can confirm that it is indeed this Equestrian Magic as CHS Student Sunset Shimmer calls it that has warped time here in Canterlot City and surrounding area, perhaps even the entire world. Seasons change, and we all continue to learn and grow as individuals in a academic and personal sense but there have been no signs of aging on myself or any of the students since the initial incident at the Fall Formal, My prize student Derpy says I am being paranoid but something is very wrong with time here, it passes for the seasons but not for us, and no one seems to notice or care, no one has graduated at CHS in a good couple of years now and no one seems to care, it's like we are stuck in a rare temporal paradox, the world around us continues to move forward but we are frozen in time, like a cartoon character I fear my students are stuck forever as teens and I sadly now stuck forever as a Science Teacher here at CHS, so long dreams of retirement, on the bright side I can't say being stuck as a thirty two year old man for eternity is necessarily a bad thing, this will still require further study of course, so until next time this is professor Whooves signing off.
