Hot air blew against my fur as I felt a sand-like texture beneath my back. I groaned in pain and soreness when I shifted my body onto my right side. The top of my hand, palm and right shoulder stung horribly whenever I moved. Once on my stomach, I pushed myself up in a push-up position. I placed my feet on the ground and got off the ground.
Aside from the stinging in certain body parts, I felt different and stronger.
Finally deciding to open my eyes, I opened them only for them to be blinded. I winced and hissed in pain. I rubbed my eyes softly with my now tender hands. Only slightly cracking my eyelids open, I allowed light to slowly enter my eyes. After a while, my eyes became adjusted to the lighting.
A desert was all I could see for miles and miles, even with my enhanced vision. I looked around, searching for any nearby items. I luckily found my sword. It seemed way bigger. Wait . . . I thought I dropped that on the ship?
“What the?! How did it get here? Unless it was thrown off the ship.” It struck me as odd but it wasn’t the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. I reached for it, suddenly seeing my shrunken hands and thicker arms. I jumped back in surprise and shock. My arms were by no means muscular now but just looked thicker, still retaining the thin stick-like limbs, my hands weren’t small but just more proportional. I quickly came to a surprising conclusion.
I believe I became noticeably shorter, my limbs became more proportional to my body as well as my hands. This kind of reminds me of a Sonic crossover fanmade game series where Sonic got beaten badly, had a ’fix’, and got a new advanced body. I believe it was called Final Fantasy Sonic X1. Cringe, yet, memorable childhood memories.
Getting back to the topic on hand, I believed I obtained some kind of ’New Body’ mainly because I did feel and look different. Focusing on what I was doing earlier, I looked back at the sword, noticing a yellowish folded piece of paper next to it. I bent over and grabbed the paper. Unfolding the paper, I saw words in dark ink in perfect handwriting. It clearly stated,
Dear Allen, or should I say Zero
Your body has been modified to match the structure of another fellow guest that has recently been brought here. While your structure was changed, your wounds still remain. They will be tender for the next few minutes but due to your healing factor, you won’t have to worry much. Also, you are awfully close to the Phantom Ruby.
Love, Dolly
“So that explains it. I would be weirded out but I was turned into a fictional character, sent to a world where myth is real, killed by a giant ass wooden wolf, meet a weird creature composing of different animal parts before dying, woke up in a dark void, met the emo who sent me here, then the same guy gave me a second chance, and finally sent me in an LSD trip. Now I’m here. I think I can handle a structure change. I wonder who the lucky person is though? If my new body is anything to go by, this new guest is . . . nah. ” Crumbling the paper, and grabbing the sword, I threw the ball of paper on the ground and begun walking.
A Few Hours Later
I had been walking for what felt possibly like hours, and still hadn’t seen a thing. I might have been a little thirsty but it wasn’t bad. I don’t think I could have handled this type of intense heat if I was still human, Infinite did seem like he lived in a desert if the prequel comics are anything to go off of. No wonder I was able to handle these types of conditions. Also, my previous wounds were tender like the letter stated but weren’t soon after.
Still, it bothered me that I hadn’t found a single thing aside from skulls and a few animals. I was starting to get frustrated.
“Dammit! The more I stay on this planet, the more I question myself. How long will it take to find something significant so I can get out of this STUPID DESERT?!” It didn’t take long but I got a response shortly.
BOOM
My left ear flicked. It had picked up a sound. Though, it was very faint, I could still hear it. It sounded similar to a boom, like something had just exploded. Without thinking, I bolted to my left.
A Few Minutes Later
I had been jogging, though, it wasn’t slow by any means. If anything, it could have been easily faster than the fastest animals on earth. I still have problems controlling my new strengths. Talking about going fast, I was weirded out with the way characters like Naruto and Sonic ran. Sure it was iconic for them to have their arms stretched out in back of them, but it wasn’t really an effective way to run and could cause injury. I’ve read on some sites that this style of running reduces air resistance and pushes more power into your feet, but I hadn’t talked to anyone who would run like that normally.
Anyways, I was able to see some kind of structure off in the distance. With every mile being covered every few seconds, the less the structure looked like a structure and the more it looked like some kind crazily shaped rock with huts on it. Hell, there even was cobblestone leading the way from what I could see in the distance. This was some town.
A small smirk became present on my muzzle. I just knew something was gonna happen soon.
“Hehehehe, lets get the ball rolling!” With extra strength, I jogged at a mild pace. I may have been passing a few miles in seconds but it was fun. Within seconds, I was already at the cobblestone path. Abruptly stopping, I quickly started to walk towards the town. I could see the inhabitants and boy was it weird. It seemed to be filled with reptile-like creatures and mammal-like creatures, a few fish-like creatures as well. They all had a gruff look to them as if they had been through a lot. Serious expressions adorned their scarred faces and they wore old, dirty clothes.
Ranging from leather clothes to clothes that looked like similar material to that of potato sacks they wore. By just going off their appearances, it seemed like they weren’t going to play nice anytime soon. Walking casually into the town with my sword, I got an insight look of this town. Lots of talking could be heard, either it was about money or a small scuffle.
“Well then, let’s get started and look for some help.”

Walking into the town, with sword at hand just in case, adorning a serious expression to have some resemblance to the town’s people. Some. My gloves and shoes seemed to catch a few glances of nearby residents, whether it was a small tiny rodent or a giant bipedal fish . As I walked, the talking died down and the attention centered towards me. It didn’t take long for someone to speak up.
“So, who are you? I’ve never seen you in MY town.” I turned around only to see a Naked mole rat, ironically in clothes. The top of my head was at its chest area. It had clothes, and a Tommy Gun, that made it look like a mobster. By his sides where larger Naked mole rats, each one wearing similar clothing and a Tommy Gun as the smaller one. Both having serious glares sent at me.
“Don’t mind me, sir. Just walking through.” He only raised a brow, glancing at my sword.
“Do you happen to know someone that is blue, spiky, and very fast. Too damn fast. Fast enough to dodge bullets with ease.” It struck me as odd but Sonic came into mind.
“Nope. Never heard of such an oddity.” A small frown slowly formed on his face.
“Bullshit! You and the blue rat have similar bodies and proportions that I’ve never laid eyes on before! I’m not stupid by any means! There has to be a connection!” His guards seemed to tense up and slightly raised their weapons.
“YES! At least SOME connection!” He said in certainty.
“Look here, I don’t know anything about this blue, spiky thing you talk about, but if I do see it, I’ll report it to you. I swear on my body.” He let out a frustrated scream, transitioning to a chuckle.
“Ok, I’ll let you slide for now. It’s just the blue rodent has caused me to set some minor setbacks. The names Verko. Got any problems in this town, you speak to me. Now, time to send a hit man after that blue nuisance.” Wait, a hit man? Verko walked past me, guards close behind. Anyone that was in his way quickly walked off or even ran away from him. He seems to have extreme authority, and also seemed to be one of the very few to have a gun in this town.
Casting aside my thoughts, I looked around. I quickly saw a road where a few small patches of fire, light foot prints, and a few small holes in houses nearby. I would have questioned what had happened but I put two and two together. Verko had a gun, the holes could actually be bulletholes. The fire patches could be caused by explosions but some specific areas seemed charred, another possibility could be is friction. The fire patches seemed to be close or on the light footprints.
As I walked through this area, the more and more destructive it became. To the point buildings were crumbled and destroyed, nearby folks picking up pieces of ruble. After minutes of walking, it stopped, I was now at the edge of the town. A few platforms jutted out from a mist that covered something similar to a canyon.
I don’t know what happened but I felt a high spike of energy. It was a large amount and I started to feel nervous. I could feel my hair spiking up and my grip on my sword shaking a bit. I’ve never felt this nervous just because of a raw amount of energy being felt. Yet, I’ve never felt so excited.
I just needed to find out the source of this energy. I could feel from where it was coming from. It was coming off from the distance far away from this town.
“I just GOTTA find this power!” I started jumping, landing on jutting structures.
Several Minutes Later/Music Ends
The more I continued jumping, the smell of salty water became apparent. I hadn’t thought of it earlier, but with the jutting structures Lessening and me having to put more force into my jumps, it was a matter of time before I would run out of ground. The power died down but it was still noticeable. Jumping on a final structure, I landed hard and caused a noticeable crack on it.
Ahead of me was an ocean and a cloudy sky. There seemed to be nothing I could jump on without getting in the water. The metal on my boots and gloves wouldn’t help much, and don’t get me started with my sword either. I started of thinking of ideas.
I could jump with all my might and hopefully land on something. Then again, I’d probably would fall in the water.
I can run on water.
Without a doubt, I’m sure I can run on water. I broke the sound barrier fighting that pony and rodent. I’m surprised that I remembered that but it wasn’t hard to forget something like that.
Gotta give this a shot. I was about to get into a stance before two loud roars on my right caught me off guard.
I looked in the direction and saw two LARGE dragons.

Never mind, large is an understatement. One black dragon that had a sharper muzzle and the other one was red. Both with bulging muscles, jagged teeth jutting out their slightly open maws, and one objective shown through their gazes. To kill me.
“Welp, I got a sword in hand and a whole ocean to run across. Hehehehehe, finally, another challenge!” Both dragons were closing distance fast and getting closer to the ocean. By my guess, they would reach me in five seconds.
Five
I turned to my left.
Four
Put my right foot foward.
Three
Lowered my body.
Two
Leaned foward and balanced my weight with my fingertips.
One
“HAHAHA! CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!”
Zero
I blasted off as I could hear and feel the force of two massive jaws snap behind me.
The water felt almost like real ground. It was just plain weird. The sound of roars once more caught my attention. Despite the burst of speed I had exploded with, the dragons were catching up. I started to casually run backwards as if to have a simple conversation.
“So you two aren’t just oversized lizards with wings? You got some speed too.” They seemed to understand what I said as they opened their maws and released a torrents of flames. I just quickly side stepped.
Looking in back of me, I could see a small part of land. A small circular patch of land filled with what looked to be gray sand.
“I’ll see you two their soon! For now, go fuck yourself!” I turned around and put more force into my strides and bolted in unbelievable speeds, leaving the dragons confused. I jumped on the once barely seeable land in mere seconds. I landed roughly, kicking up sand. I turned around to see the dragons quickly closing the distance.
I took a quick glance at my sword and gave it a few weak experimental swipes. The swipes were faster and created a barely noticeable gust of wind.
“Neat.” My only plan is to hit them hard. By my guesses, it shouldn’t be too hard to take the dragons down if I go all out.
I switched my focus on the two behemoths, getting into position.
“Like someone once said, all it takes is one second to be scarred for life . . . but it was worth it.” Bursting towards the beasts, which were at least fifty feet away, I jumped with all my power and my sword in both hands. I slammed down onto the red one’s snout, disrupting its flight and making it crash onto the island, covering a small portion of it and caused a large crater. I rocketed off the dragon’s snout and towards the other. It was barely turning around for it’s comrade. Unluckily for it, I already closed half the distance. I cocked my right leg back, reaching the dragon in no time.
I didn’t hesitate for a moment. I kicked my foot foward and fast.
BOOM
I found my foot lodged into the dragons cheek. My kick was enough to suspend it in the air. It’s eyes locked in on me. It took a few moments before the beast’s eyes closed and the whole body started falling.
Music Ends
It landed next to the other dragon. Causing another crater.
“Shit! That was little bit to much wasn’t it.”
I would be complaining much more if the dragons weren’t shrinking and changing in proportion. I was shocked. I’ve been through worse but seeing the rapid change of their bodies.
I didn’t stay staring any longer.
BOOM

Music Starts
A boom erupted from my left. The only thing I saw was a blue blur rocketing at me and a white glove finding itself deep in my left cheek. A searing pain exploded throughout my face as I was spiraling backwards, dropping my sword in the process. Skidding on the sand, and with my new body, I flipped and shoved my hands and feet in the ground. Coming to a complete stop, showing myself unhurt, I took the opportunity to see my perpetrator.
I was shocked once again. The blue fur, six blue spikes, peach fur muzzle, peach fur arms, peach fur belly, gloves, shoes, and gleaming emerald eyes. I couldn’t be mistaken.
It was Sonic The Hedgehog. His body had the same body type and proportions as I did. Why had he attacked me? Why was her here? I’m kinda pissed now. Thankfully I got this new body, or else I would have been on the moon. I was having a good time, but at the same time disappointing, then one of my favorite childhood game heroes comes and sends me back like a bitch. Even though It probably wasn’t the real Sonic, I’m not taking that!
“You really shouldn’t have done that. I’ll show you just how fast you can run for your life!” I opted for a fighting stance.
Time seemed to slow down as Sonic ran at me. His right fist was cocked back and he wore a determined expression. He threw his fist forward, to which I caught with my left hand.
BOOM
The combined forces caused a boom. Sonic seemed a bit shocked but I wasn’t. Taking this time, I threw my right fist forward, successfully landing a strike on his chin.
BOOM
He was sent spiraling back just as I had. He did the same thing I did getting back in my feet.
“No more playing games! It’s all or nothing!” He seemed to understand as I blasted forward at insane speeds. He did the same, closing the distance rapidly. I had both hands open and ready to grab him. He did as well.
BOOM
Another boom erupted as our hands contacted each other. He both had our hands gripping tight on each other’s palms.
We both shoved each other and jumped back words. We landing synchronized in the same postion. Slightly crouched, feet at shoulder length, and hands in front of our faces.
It’s time to fight!
