Chapter 9: A Friend ~Chapter 8~
Previous Chapter Next ChapterI arrived at the mountain just as the sun set. I flew onto the entrance of a cave and landed, my wings extinguished immediately. It looked like this cave was an abandoned camp, it had an old bed roll in one corner and a firepit with an old rusty pot over it. I poked my head outside and focused on a tree, a few moments later the tree fell into little log size pieces and I hovered them inside. I hovered three into the firepit and dropped the rest in a pile. I lit the three in the fire pit with my fire and used the brush of the tree to conceal the cave entrance. My work done I plopped down on the bedroll and drifted to sleep. I was walking down a long hall that was bare except a door at the very end of the hall. I looked over my shoulder and it was pitch black. The light bulb above me flickered and I started to sprint to the door, which never seemed to get closer. The light bulbs dying behind me as I ran. Finally I reached the door, I put out a hoof and was about to push the door open when my hoof impacted solid stone. Where the door had been was solid stone. I spun around and saw every light was out except the one over my head, and the door was all the way back at the other side of the hall the black darkness between me and it. As the light over my head flickered there was a sudden pain in my head. I dropped to the floor and clutched my head in my forelegs. I saw my life flash before my eyes, but it wasn’t my life I was a pegasus then the same thing happened again but I was a unicorn this time and this happened over and over other peoples whole live flashing before me. The pain grew worse and I curled into a ball. The lights had all come back on and there was a figure standing over me, a black pony with an ash colored mane a look of concern on his face. Suddenly I burst into flames but they were not my fire and they scorched my skin, I writhed in agony screaming in pain. The pony stamped there foot on the floor and I woke up. I was flailing my legs writhing on the ground but something held my legs from moving too much. Even after I woke the pain was still there, for a few minutes I just writhed and screamed in pain. The pain dulled slowly and I just went limp, I blinked my eyes open and sucked in a deep breath. I was on some sort of stone table. Tied down with chains of the obsidian metal that my armour was made of. There was scorch marks all over the makeshift bed so I assumed I had been on fire earlier. The next thing I noticed is that I was not in my armour and I could see fresh blood splattered all over my chest. I guess I was crying because I could feel hot tears pouring from my eyes running down my face. I tried to move but only succeeded in twitching slightly, I let out a groan. Then a grey pegasus stood over me smiling an eerily big smile “Well hello Nighters, I've waited too long to meet you” he said all too cheerfully. His body wavered and distorted slightly, giving off the impression he was made of steam. I coughed up what had to have been blood and said weakly “Why am I chained up? And where am i?” “In the castle id assume, but that’s beside the point. Do you know why you have your magic, or how you’re even alive?” he said his voice merry “No. Of course you don’t. Well the reason you’re alive and have magic is me. You see, those two who revived you work for me” He said pacing around the room. I just blinked my eyes at him “And don’t think I was doing it out of the kindness of my heart, I have a job for you” his eyes burn with intensity and his smile broadened. “You’re going to kill Celestia” “But I don’t want to anymore” I whispered. His smile morphed into a ferocious snarl and a wave of pure pain washed over me. It felt like somepony had just broken every bone in my body and thrown me down a flight of stairs. After what felt like hours it faded and I vomited blood and bile all over the table “Who said you have a choice?” he hissed out. All I could do was twitch, and then I lost consciousness.
