I can't do this, I can't do this.

Her heart was pounding in her ears

I can't do this, I can't be doing this.

She was walking up the pathway.

Why am I doing this, I shouldn't do this.

She was at the door.

Here I go, why am I doing this?

She was knocking on the door.

Oh no!

The door opened.

"Hey Fluttershy!" Bon-Bon said, opening the door.

"How'd you know it was me?"

"No one else has such a timid knock! Come on in!"

Fluttershy shyly entered the house. She loved how Bon-Bon's hair floated as she walked. She couldn't help notice the smell of candies that pervaded her house due to her profession. And she wasn't exactly ignoring her plot either.

Suddenly, Fluttershy felt her wings start to rise.

Oh no. Not now, She thought.

"So why did you come over anyway? You need help with anything?" Bon-Bon asked, looking back at the pegasus behind her.

Fluttershy slid behind a potted plant to hide her wingboner.

"Um, I was actually, um, curious to see if you wanted, to... hang out sometime, if that's, um, ok with you..."

Fluttershy's wingboner had since drooped from the fear of being rejected. She braced herself for the worst.

"Sure! I know you love animals, so I thought we could go see the butterfly migration! I wanted to go with Lyra, but she said she was 'busy.'"

Fluttershy's wingboner shot straight up again.

"So, um, yeah! I'll meet you there!"

Bon-Bon giggled.

"Alright, I'll see yah there!"

Fluttershy shot out of Bon-Bon's house and flew straight home as fast as she could. When she got there, she landed on the floor and started to giggle. The giggling soon erupted into laughter, and soon, her laughter could be heard throughout all of Ponyville.

That is, until Angel, who had been enjoy an afternoon nap, came over and shoved his pillow in Fluttershy's mouth.

The day of the migration, Fluttershy woke up three hours early. She spent the first ten minutes getting entirely ready for the day, then the next two hours and fifty minutes tapping her hoof on the floor, staring at the clock.

When it was time to leave, she raced over to Bon-Bon's and waited at her door. Ten minutes later, Bon-Bon opened it.

"Oh! Hey Fluttershy. You ready for our-"

"Date? I mean, outing? Oh my, yes!" Fluttershy said, grabbing Bon-Bon's hoof. "Let's go!"

And so, the two ponies headed off to watch the migration. It was beautiful, monarchs and swallowtails, metalmarks and skippers, even a few moths snuck their way in.

During a part where a whole bunch of butterflies swarmed over them Fluttershy was able to get extremely close to Bon-Bon. Bon-Bon apparently didn't notice this, and Fluttershy snuggled up to her. She was very soft.

"Wow, Fluttershy, you sure are affectionate!" Bon-Bon said, stroking her hair and giggling. Fluttershy felt her wings stiffen and she blushed.

The next day, Fluttershy decided she wanted to hang out with Bon-Bon again, but unfortunately, Bon-Bon had other ideas.

"Sorry, I promised I'd hang out with Lyra today. You understand."

"Oh, of course. Sorry to bother you."

Fluttershy sulked sadly away, and flew back to her house, fighting back tears. In the exact same place she had laughed in joy, she wept in sadness, tears falling down her cheeks like a torrential downpour.

Then, something happened to Fluttershy. Something that had only happened a few times before.

She became angry. And hell hath no fury like an angry Fluttershy.

"So, Lyra thinks she can steal Bon-Bon away from me?" she murmured like an insane madmare. "Not today, oh no! I will win Bon-Bon's heart, no matter what!"

"Thanks for hanging out with me, Bon-Bon, it means a lot. I hope Fluttershy's feelings weren't hurt," Lyra said to Bon-Bon as they watched the sunset from the cliff they had hiked to.

"Nah, she seemed fine. She did seem a little clingy at the migration, but she's a sweet pony, and we have been friends since she moved to Ponyville." Bon-Bon kicked a rock off the cliff, watching it spiral into the pool below, a small plopping sound accompanying its entrance into the water.

After a few more moments of silence, Lyra grabbed Bon-Bon and kissed her full on the lips.

"I love you so much."

Bon-Bon smiled and kissed her back.

"I love you too."

Fluttershy woke up bright and early the next day. She was going to win back Bon-Bon today no matter what it took.

Knocking on Bon-Bon's door, she smiled deviously. This is going to be great.

"Hi there, Fluttershy!" Bon-Bon said when she saw it was indeed Fluttershy who had knocked on her door.

"Hey Bon-Bon. You want to go out for lunch someplace?"

"Sure!"

After their lunch, Fluttershy enacted part two.

This is going better than I expected. She's really connecting with me! Fluttershy smiled as she thought this.

"So, Bon-Bon, what do you want to do?"

"Well I was thinking-"

Fluttershy grabbed Bon-Bon and kissed her on the lips in a very similar fashion to how Lyra had done the other day, except this time, in front of around 30 other ponies.

Bon-Bon struggled for a bit, and was finally able to shove Fluttershy off her. The crowd parted, and standing there was a very shocked looking Lyra.

Bon-Bon covered her mouth.

"Lyra, I-"

"Shut up, you skank!" Lyra screamed at her, and ran away crying.

Bon-Bon looked at Fluttershy in disgust and then also ran away crying.

Everypony looked at Fluttershy. She shrank down and curled into a ball, until she felt somepony pick her up.

"Come on. We need to talk," came Rainbow Dash's voice.
