Chapter 25: Foaly Matrimony

Fluttershy’s Cottage

“I would like to thank you all for coming here to my cottage on such short notice,” said Fluttershy as she looked out at the crowd of ponies consisting of the other Elements of Harmony, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and their associated family. “I have an important announcement to make to all of you.”

Fluttershy normally hated speaking in front of “large” crowds. However, for a change, she was actually excited for the announcement she was about to make. She already had a vague clue about what she was going to say. She had already informed her parents of the marriage and they were overwhelmingly supportive of her, albeit saddened that they hadn’t been there to see their only daughter get married. Nonetheless, she wrapped her foreleg around Discord’s waist (he was standing on her left).

“I’m married,” said Fluttershy. A collective gasp swept the roomful of ponies. Immediately a series of questions began to be belted out by curious and confused ponies, ranging from “to whom” (as if it wasn’t patently obvious) to “where did you get married.”

Fluttershy raised her hoof, indicating that she wished for everyone to quiet down. The rabble from the crowd of a dozen and a half ponies died after a few more seconds.

“I’m sure that you’re full of questions. I’ll answer them in due time. But please let me give you a bit of background first.”

“For the past couple of years, me and Discord have been seeing each other. During those years I have seen him grow from being a villain to becoming a hero. I have come to know and adore him for his personality and kindness. It is for these reasons that I have decided to marry Discord.”

Discord spoke up, breaking his silence, “Throughout the entirety of my existence I have never met a creature as kind and loving as Fluttershy. She gave me a chance when nopony else would. For that I’ll be eternally grateful.”

Twilight Sparkle rose from her seat and walked up to Fluttershy and Discord. Opening her mouth, she said, “I think that I speak for everyone here when I say that we are proud of you guys and wish you the best. If there is anything you ever need, feel free to let us know.”

Pinkie Pie shot up from her seat, wild with excitement. “Oh I know! If you guys ever need babysitters for any foals that you have, you know where to look!” shouted the pink Earth Pony, her enthusiasm prompting laughter from all gathered, including the newly weds.

“Well, we most certainly look forward to having children of our own,” said Fluttershy, blushing.
