Chapter 10: A Slice of Life- Starlight (and a little Derpy on the side)

Two Years Later, March 8, 1948

Twilight Sparkle’s Castle, Ponyville, Equestria

“Think quick! Teleportation spell!” yelled Twilight as she suddenly woke Starlight from her sleep.

Immediately Starlight cast the spell that she had been trying to perfect for years. Instantly, she appeared in the middle of Sugarcube Corner, surprising Pinkie Pie.

“Hello there Starlight,” said the always bubbly party planner.

Before Starlight could respond, Twilight appeared right next to her in a flash of light. “Good reaction time there Starlight. You’ve really mastered the teleportation spell.”

“Thanks Twilight. So what’s our next lesson?” asked the student of her master.

“Well I was actually thinking of giving you the day off. You’ve been hard at work honing and perfecting your magical abilities. I was going to go up to Canterlot later this afternoon to meet with Celestia to mark the opening of the Canterlot Airport and to discuss foreign policy issues. If you want, you can come with me to Canterlot and perhaps when we get done we could tour the National Museum. They have a fascinating new exhibit on Griffinstone Art.”

“I’m sure it’s interesting Twilight. However, I was thinking about staying here in Ponyville. Perhaps do some house cleaning, perhaps write a letter of two to my friends back in the village.”

“Ok, whatever makes you happy,” said Twilight. “Tomorrow, we’ll hit the books.”

Twilight and Starlight then trotted out the door, barely avoiding a collision the crossed eyed grey haired pegasus that came flying in.

“Is my order of muffins ready?” asked the clumsy mailmare.

“Sure thing, Derpy,” said Pinkie Pie.
