Luna’s mouth was wide open gaping at the sight in front of her. She was thoroughly impressed by the sheer volume of books that she was looking at. “Twilight would be bouncing off of the walls right now. There’s more books than in the Canterlot Royal Library,” she thought.

“I hope you’re impressed,” said Truman. “This is the largest library in the world. Inside here is a collection of government documents from all era’s of America’s existence, along with a collection of various works of literature from our civilization. I think that you will find that this will satisfy your thirst for knowledge about our nation's history and structure of government.”

“Thank you!” said Luna, visibly happy at the prospect of being to explore the seemingly rich history of the world’s oldest existing democratic republic.

“Of course, this won’t be the only thing you will be doing while here in America,” continued the President. “During the coming month, we’ll be continuing to establish the foundations of what I believe is an essential and potentially mutually beneficial relationship. Additionally, I have been receiving daily phone calls from the various newspapers in this country. They are desperate to learn more about you and your country.”

“I’d gladly talk to them,” replied Luna.

“It seems as though my country has been infected with what many pundits are calling ‘ponymania.’ I hope you don’t mind touring this country with me in the coming weeks.”

“I’d be honoured to tour this country of yours. I’ve heard that it has beautiful scenery and even more beautiful people.”

Truman hadn’t seen this much enthusiasm for America from even the most ardent patriots. “That’s wonderful to hear, Your Majesty.”

To Princess Luna and President Truman it appeared that Equestria and America were destined to do great things together as the beginning of the second half of the 20th century loomed. Only time would tell whether or not such sentiments would turn out to be true.
