For four hundred years, society has been surviving underground in solitude. The land above completely forgotten to the denizens. And in this underground utopia dubbed New Equestria, ponies have risen to take charge and lead the new civilization to a peaceful utopia. However, in order to survive with scarce resources, volunteers are tasked with exploring underground bunkers to find and retrieve supplies and oxygen.
On one expedition, however, a young pegasus stallion awoke an ancient AI program known as Apocalyptica and it tells him to venture to the outside if he is to save the suffocating underground. With different plans in mind, he escapes into the world above with his adoptive zebra sister and finds that society has survived outside, unbound to law and order. If they are to survive this cruel, unforgiving sand driven wasteland that was once named Equestria, young Candlejack must set out to revive an age old project.
A project that was meant to save the land from itself and revive its' once forgotten civilization.
Special thanks to EZTP for the cover art. You should check him out as he is one talented individual.
This story was inspired by many things. But most of its' inspirations drive from Desert Punk. At least, world setting wise. And to my personal favorite show Samurai Jack for the dystopian future and the recent Neir Automata for inspiring me to create the interactions of the mechanical in a dystopian society.
Also, just a side note, this is not Fallout Equestria related. In fact, any characters, settings or events are purely coincidental.
