Chapter 1

Flurry Heart as Sora. Shining Armor as Riku. Princess Cadence as Kairi.

A pink Alicorn stood on a glowing platform, momentarily blinded by the light. Her mane and tail was a magenta color, with a sky blue stripe running down the middle of both. In history, there were only some Alicorns, with the only ones present watching over their kingdoms and subjects. She's not a ruler. Heck, she's just a child, a minor, and compared to the others, she's as insignificant as that of an ant. At least, now, unlike her baby self, which had uncontrollable magic and power that almost destroyed her parent's kingdom.

She is Flurry Heart, daughter of Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor, and Equestria’s first natural born Alicorn. Many years have passed since her birth, and many more will come to her, perhaps even more than she would expect. For all her life, the Crystal Empire was her home, and from what she knew, it was her world. Only her parents knew of the other lands, but feared for Flurry's life, as many would like a pretty bit if they had her… or worse. She could only dream of exploring past her home area; only her family and close friends came to her, much to her pleasure, and annoyance. But, unbeknownst to everyone, everything was going to change, for the better, and the worst.

Flurry's blue eyes adjusted to the green and yellow lights below her. Right under her, it looked like she was standing on what could be described as stain glass, like the windows around the castle. The glass had an imprint of a female human, a creature her Aunt Twilie told her about, wearing a yellow dress. All around the woman was green, with flowers, and seven, goofy looking men, all with different looks and expressions. Besides what she was standing on, everywhere else was complete darkness. No one was around, as far as she could tell.

“H-hello?” She squeaked, looking around her surroundings.

“... So much to do, so little time…” A booming, yet silent whisper spoke, giving Flurry the chills. “Take your time. Don't be afraid.” A beam of light came down to the middle. “The door is still shut. Now step forward.”

“... I must be in a dream.” She took her first steps to the middle of the glass platform. As she did, three more lights came down with some alters rising. The voice continued. As the first showed a black shield with a red outline and a matching color, minimal mouse-like head (At least, to her, with two circles on top of a larger circle.)

“Power sleeps within you.” The second alter showed what looked like a green staff with yellow ends, and the same, minimal mouse head as the shape of the blue crystal on top of it. “If you give it form…” The final showed a sword with a blue handle with golden ends, and, again, the same mouse head, only it's on the side and is very small. “It will give you strength. Choose well.”

“Ch-Choose one of these?” Flurry looked at the three altars. She turned to the staff. While she may have not been with her other relatives, her Aunt Twilight helped made her look more into magic and read during her off times. The child wasn't much of an egg head as her aunt, and would still like to have fun as the next kid, but she wanted more knowledge about magic, and perhaps be as strong as she once was… without the destruction, of course. A couple of steps was only needed as she took the staff into her hooves.

“The power of the mystic. Inner strength. A staff of wonder and ruin. Is this what you seek?”

“Um… yes?” And just like that, the staff quickly glowed and poofed away, twinkling away like stars.

“Your path is set. Now, what will you give up in exchange?”

“Like… give up?” She looked at the shield and sword. “Hmm… if I have to give something up, then I should be able to use the other as a weapon… I'm keeping the shield.” She trotted over to the sword and picked it up.

“The power of the warrior. Invincible Courage. A sword of terrible destruction. You give up this power?”

Vague memories returned to Flurry. She may have been a baby, and she didn't know at the time, but if her family hadn't reacted quickly, she would've been responsible for many lost lives. Destruction was going to be her legacy. It was obvious on what she wanted to do.

“Yes.” She answered begrudgingly, but to herself. Like the staff, the sword disappeared very similar to the staff.

“Very interesting. You chose the path of the mystic. You gave up the path of the warrior.”

“What is this even about?”

“You will understand later.” The floor shook. Flurry stepped back as the alters began to slant, sinking into the glass floor. As the material she stood on, the floor shattered into a million piece.

“LUUNNAAAAA-!!!” She screamed, falling into the abyss.

While Alicorns, and by that, the 4 princesses, can fly, Flurry wasn't exactly great with it. The Crystalling, which was also the day she almost destroyed the crystal empire, not only took her powerful magic away, but also, albeit, slowly took her flying away. She has been training to fly, but all she could really do is jump relatively high. Gliding is part of her own training.

A beacon of light glowed beneath Flurry. The sudden drop stopped her from falling, and instead, gently dropped her to the next stain glass platform, this one with a different human, wearing a pale blue dress, and having some different looking pony silhouettes and a pumpkin chariot. Flurry sighed in relief. The staff appeared on her right hoof.

“You have gained the power to fight.” The voice spoke.

“F-fight?” Flurry asked.

“Give it a swing.”

“Um… okay…” With her other hoof, she gripped the staff and swung it like a sword.

“All right! You've got it! Use the power to protect yourself and others.”

“What do you mean?” Small shadows appeared on the floor.

“There will be times you have to fight.” The shadows emerged from the ground, revealing some small, imp like, pure black creatures with glowing yellow eyes, all moving in rapid, unfocused ways. They were all around Flurry's height. “Keep your light burning strong.” One of them pounced at her.

“EEP!!!” She swung the staff at the creature. It evaporated into a shadow cloud, but a small heart flew up into the sky. The others sunk into the floor and disappeared. Flurry walked around, holding the staff meekly, nearly hugging it. “W-What was that thing!?”

“BEHIND YOU!!!”

“Gah!” She turned around and whacked the creature on it's head, making it disappear into a dark cloud with a heart floating away. Flurry saw more appearing. “Go away!” She smacked them all across their heads. The others sunk into the floor and began to spread all over the floor, covering the light below. Darkness spread to her, and she sunk into it like quicksand. “No! Someone! HELP!!!” No one came as she was engulfed by the darkness.

She could only squirm around in the abyss. Luckily for her, she was on another stain glass. She hopped up, seeing a near invisible door.

“I gotta get outta here!” Flurry sprinted to the door… only to pass through it. “What the-!? Ugh! Stupid door!” Another beacon of light came from behind. Turning, Flurry saw a fairly Large, red chest with golden outlines. She walked to the chest, unsure how it got here, what's in it, or even how to open it.

“Uh… Open sesame?” Nothing happened. She took the staff out and poked the chest. It opened. Nothing. She pouted.

“Not cool.” Her attention was caught to a crate that appeared behind her. “Hmm… something underneath it, perhaps?” She went to the large crate and pushed it. Nothing. She was getting angry. “Seriously!?” She pulled the staff out and smashed the crate. A potion fell out. “Ooh! Sweet!” The door became less invisible and more solid. A barrel appeared next to the door. “SMASH THE BARREL!!!” She smashed the barrel. The door became solid looking. “Freedom!” She ran to the door. The door opened upon her presence, revealing a bright light. She shielded her eyes from the light, but slowly approached the opened door.

The place had changed again, but now, Flurry found herself on the roof of the crystal empire’s castle, where the Crystal Heart was kept after King Sombra’s banishment. Waiting around her were her friends, the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Applebloom, the yellow earth pony filly with the red mane and tail, decorated with a pink bow, stood in a corner. Sweetie Belle, the white unicorn filly with a poofy, pink and magenta mane and tail, sat near the rails. Scootaloo, the orange pegasus filly with a purple mane and tail, stood at the exit with her scooter.

“Hold on.” The voice from earlier spoke. “The door won’t open just yet.”

“What door?” Flurry asked.

“Please, tell me more about yourself.”

“... With my friends? Um… okay… as long as they don’t turn into those monsters.” She looked around, wondering who to talk first. Applebloom was her first. Flurry walked to the earth pony.

“What are ya’ll afraid of?” Applebloom asked in her noticeable Western accent. Those monsters would’ve been Flurry’s choice, but something told her that they weren’t going to be around very much, only in this weird dream she’s having. But she didn’t want to straight up lie about it; if this was a dream, she’ll be as truthful as possible.

“Being different.” She answered. “I may be an alicorn, but I don’t want to be viewed as the destructor of my subjects… nor some powerful deity that demands worshipping. I just want to be like everypony else.”

“Hm… Ah can understand that.” Flurry felt a bit better. It helped took some weight off of her, weight that she hadn’t noticed until now. She walked over to Sweetie Belle.

“What’s important to you?” Sweetie asked in her squeaky voice.

“This is easy! Friendship, of course! … At least… with your real self and not dream self… no offense.”

“None taken!” Flurry chuckled a bit and walked over to Scootaloo.

“What do you want out of life?” Scootaloo asked.

“Well… I would like to see the world… but I also want to learn magic… oh! I want to be strong! And not just physically, but with my magic, and my wings!”

“True that! I want to be like Rainbow Dash as well!”

“You’re afraid of being different,” The voice repeated. “you want friendship, and you want to be strong. Your adventure begins at midday. Keep a steady pace and you’ll come through fine.”

“Aww, why thank you.” Flurry blushed, feeling rather encouraged.

“The day you will open the door is both far off and very near.” Another bright light came, taking away everything.

Flurry found herself back on the stain glass platform, with another human on it, this one, wearing a purple dress, holding a rose to her chest, and had three, magical looking human silhouettes over her. All around her was sharp, thorn covered branches. Flurry Heart sighed in annoyance.

“And I was beginning to like you.” She grumbled as she walked across. Her ears twitched and she stopped. Popping up from the floors was more of the strange creatures she fought earlier, and they all surrounded the filly. Flurry pulled the staff out. “Why are you all after me!?” After swinging around wildly, finding out three hits defeated these creatures, everything went silent. She took a deep breath, wiping away some sweat that came from her forehead. Another beacon of light came down and went to the edge. Smaller, but still large platforms came, making what looked like stairs to another platform. “A way out!?” Flurry ran along the magical stairs, stepping onto another platform with another human, this one wearing a golden-yellow dress and had silhouettes of what looked like objects. She stood in the middle of another beacon of light, hoping it was a way out.

“The closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes.” The voice spoke.

“My… shadow?” She looked behind, seeing her shadow. It stopped in place and, with what was her two front legs, pushed itself up from the ground.  Flurry backed up as her shadow walked to her, steadily growing in size, and changing shape. “W-What!? Th-This is… this is-!”

“But don’t be afraid.” Her shadow had changed from just her to a gigantic, minotaur looking monster that stood on it’s hind legs, entire chest is missing with a heart shaped hole in it, and face was covered in tentacles, revealing only its glowing yellow eyes. “And don’t forget…”

“NO!!!” Flurry turned and ran away, only to stop herself from falling into the abyss. She turned back to the monster that was her shadow. “Oh no.” She pulled the staff out. “Uh… please… go gentle with me?” It didn’t acknowledge her. Instead, the shadow monster’s right hand glowed a purple-black orb and slammed it to her. She reacted quickly and jumped out of the way. The orb cracked, making a portal in the floor, bringing in more of the smaller creatures she fought earlier. “You have got to be kidding me!” Flurry ran to the hand on the floor and smacked it. The creature let out a moan, almost as if it was painful. She continued to whack it, along with the additional shadow creature, until it stood up. The staff went away. “No! Come back!” She looked up at the monster. “EEP!!!” She jumped out of the way as it’s fist came down at her. The other fist didn’t try to hit her, rather, it landed next to it’s other hand. Flurry caught herself in a staredown between herself and the shadow monster, unknowingly in it’s black portal.

“- But don’t be afraid.” The black portal began to spread to Flurry Heart. “You hold the mightiest weapon of all.” Flurry looked and saw the darkness taking her in.

“N-no! MOM! DAD! HELP!!!”

“So don’t forget:” The darkness covered her eyes and muffled her screams. “You are the one who will open the door.”

The sound of chirpings were heard, followed by the various citizens outside, doing their business. A bright light came as Flurry Heart opened her eyes, to which her eyes steadily adjusted to it. Celestia's sun, as well as the bright, blue sky, decorated with fluffy clouds, were in clear view, followed by the hanging branches and leaves of a tree. Her eyes looked down to her tummy; A guide to spells laid open, flat. Perhaps the reading of the book made her tired and that's why she slept. A yawn came out of Flurry as she went back to her resting position. When her back laid on the floor, Flurry was meet with a familiar pink face with a long mane and with a long yellow, magenta, and purple mane, wearing a golden crown and necklace. She was an Alicorn, like Flurry.

“Gah!!!” Flurry screamed, jumping into a standing position. “Mom! Don't sneak up on me like that!” Her mother giggled.

“I knew I'd find you here, Flurry. Trying to study hard, only to fall asleep again, I see?”

“No! Mom! There was this huge black thing that I fought! It swallowed me up; I couldn't breath, and I couldn't-!”

“Sounds like you've been reading one too many books about Sombra.”

“I didn't read about the tyrant king, mom! And it wasn't a dream.”

“And what makes you say that?”

“It felt real… or… maybe… I dunno.” She stretched her legs and wings. “What was that place? It was… bizarre.”

“I'm sure it's nothing.” her mother gently pushed her forward. Flurry Heart grabbed the book and placed it in a satchel next to her.

“Hey, mom. Are we really going to Canterlot tomorrow? Or is this a visit to the dentist again?”

“Your next appointment isn't until two months, Flurry. So, yes, we, as a family, are going to Canterlot.”

“Yes! Finally! Out of the castle!”

“But you have to be on your best behavior, Flurry Heart; we have to show respect to the other visiting kingdoms and their cultures.”

“Oh… right, sorry.” She blushed. “... Mom?”

“Yes?”

“What's it like over there? Is it like anything like our home?”

“It's a bit like here, but different in it's own way. Of course, it's older, so be mindful of your surroundings.”

“Gotcha… would you like to go back sometime?”

“Perhaps as a visit and not for a royal summit. That, and along with the other kingdoms.”

“I'd like to see the other kingdoms as well! Perhaps even the strange worlds, like Aunt Twilight.”

“I don't know about that one.”

“Hey!” A stallion spoke. He was white all over with a striped blue and dark blue mane and tail. Unlike them, he was a Unicorn, indicated by only a horn and no wings. His horn glowed a blue aura as he had a couple of floating luggage in the same glowing aura. “What are the two most important women of my life doing? I guess I'm the only one looking over the luggage, then?” He lowered the luggage and nuzzled Flurry's mom. “And you're just as lazy as she is.”

“I was napping, dad.” Flurry fake pouted, crossing her hooves and looking away, but still smiled.

“Sorry about that, Shining,” Flurry's mom replied with another giggle. “It's hard to do two jobs when one of them gets up and naps away somewhere else.” She turned to Flurry Heart. The filly just rolled her eyes with a smile, accepting the jab thrown at her.

“Well, are you going to help, or do I have to do everything myself?” He asked.

“Oh, I can help. Can you help, Flurry?” Flurry got up and lifted one of the case's handles with her mouth.

“Vey A-he o’ hoo.” She muffled, walking to the door to get to the main doors. Both her mom and dad's horns glowed as they picked up the rest of the luggage, evenly splitting them up and following their daughter.

It took the three of them some time in order for them to get their luggage all together and board the train for Canterlot. Yet, on the train ride over, the only thing that Flurry could think about was what she had seen in her dream just now. What did they mean about this… light she had or this door she had to open? What were those things she saw? Was it just a dream?

And what kind of power was asleep within her? Her mother saw her looking rather puzzled by something.

“Is there something wrong, sweetie?” She asked.

The young alicorn looked up at her mother, seeing that she was calling to her and shook her head. “N-no, nothing. Nothing at all… Just… thinking…” She said, hoping for her mother to drop the subject and not press further.

“Is it about that dream you had? I can ask Luna for help, if it'll make you feel better.”

She thought about it for a moment. Could Luna be able to help with something like this? It was… possible to say the least, but she could be busy with other duties for being the Princess of the Night. “Would she have the time for it? I mean… she is in charge of night court and helps Aunt Celestia-”

“I am sure she will be available to help. She may be more used to the night, but she will take time out of her sleep to help anypony in need.” Despite her mother's words, it did little to help ease Flurry’s worries. Something about this didn’t feel quite right to her… there was something there that did not make any sense at all.

It continued to linger a little in the back of her mind the closer that the train was approaching Canterlot. The train station itself looked rather busy today, even if all the delegates that her parents were suppose to be meeting were coming tomorrow. As they got off the train though and began to get their bags, Flurry heard a rather… familiar voice.

“Oh my… I didn’t expect for you to come over to Canterlot so soon, Cadence.” When Flurry turned around, right behind here was Princess Celestia herself. Or as she knew her as, Aunt Celestia. She was standing nearby with a few other ponies that were wearing formal clothes as they proceeded to assist them with carrying their luggage while Flurry herself went up to give her Aunt a big and warm hug.

“Aunt Tia!” Flurry squealed. Celestia smiled, hugging the filly with a forehoof and holding her close.

“It’s good to see you again, dear Flurry,” Celestia spoke in a mother like tone before chuckling a bit. “You aren’t giving your parents too much difficulty now, are you?”

“She's given us plenty of trouble,” Her father joked, only to get himself hit in the shoulder by his wife’s forehoof. “But she's still a blessing, even after all these years.”

“It's her first time out of the Crystal Empire,” Cadence added. “But, she's going to be on her best behavior. Am I right?”

“Mom, I know what I'm doing.” Flurry answered with some annoyance in her voice.

“I rest assure you,” Celestia replied. “I am certain that there is nothing that your daughter can do that will spell ‘Doom’, Cadence.”

“I hope not.” Flurry's mother replied. “And may I have a private word with your sister, please?”

“Of course,” she gently nudged Flurry Heart to the entrance. “Do make yourself at home. If you're lost, find any of the staff members; they will lead you around.”

“Thanks, Aunt.” Flurry gave Celestia a quick hug before sprinting away. The first thing that was on her mind that she needed to find was a bathroom. She did drink a lot of water on the train ride to Canterlot and, out of sheer stubbornness, refused to use the restroom that was on the train. “Oh dear… where's the filly’s room?”, She ran ahead, looking for a Restroom. “Mane, I hate it when I get lost…”

In another world, a grand castle, with an equally great kingdom, stood on the grassy fields below. The castle itself was white all over with golden rims, and each roof was blue with a yellow flag on the tip. It's hallways were large, almost gigantic even, compared to the size of it's rulers and staff… or lack thereof. Instead of the worker, most of the staff were made up of brooms, each looking identical to the last, all with two arms poking out of the sides and using the thistles at the end as feet. But, not everyone was a walking Broom.

One of the staff members, wearing a royal blue robe and matching, pointed hat, was… a duck. Yes, a duck. The duck strolled across the hallway, not minding the brooms working, but was on his way to meet the creator of this castle, and the kingdom. The king. He stopped at the two large doors, both looking like they'll need a lot of force to push.

The duck cleared his throat before giving the right door a secret knock. A smaller door opened, this one, more of his size. He waddled in, following the red carpet that lead to the throne.

“Good morning, your majesty.” He quacked as if he were meeting an old friend. “It's good to see you this morn-” Instead of the king sitting on his throne, there was no one, nothing but an empty throne. “WHAT!?” Popping out from behind the throne was the king’s dog; an orange-yellow blood hound with black ears and a tail, and wearing a green collar that read ‘Pluto’. In the dog's mouth was a letter that had the king's seal on it; a minimalist mouse head. It gave the letter to the duck, who opened and read it to himself. He screamed his head off and ran out of the throne.

The duck ran out to the castle’s garden, where another dog, wearing what could only be described as a knight's armor, snored away. He stopped at the snoring dog.

“Wake up, Goofy, wake up! This is serious!” The dog continued to snore away. The duck pointed a feathery finger to the sky, where a small lightning bolt came down and struck Goofy in the butt, effectively waking him up. He scratched his eyes, turning to the duck.

“Hey there, Donald, G’morning!” He greeted.

“We've got a problem, Goofy! But don't tell anyone.”

“Queen Minnie?”

“Not even the queen.”

“Daisy?”

“No! It's top secret!”

“G’morning, ladies!”

“... What?” Donald turned around to see Queen Minnie and Daisy were right behind him. Minnie was a mouse, wearing a Tiara on her head, and wearing a pink dress. Daisy was also a duck, who also wore a Tiara, but had on a purple dress. They both gave Donald some dagger filled stares. All he did was nervously laugh.

Flurry couldn't hold on to it. She wanted to ask Somepony where the nearest Restroom was, but no one was around. She didn't want to embarrass herself, nor make a mess, so she ran to what was the castle’s gardens. A mess in there could be placed on some of the animals around. But much to her luck, there were several gardeners outside.

“Oh for the love of-!” She yelled but stopped as she saw that she was next to a cave. It looked eerie, a far cry from the rest of the castle “... well, it's better than getting caught.” She entered the cave and did her business.

“Alright, time to check the cave.” A voice of one of the gardeners spoke. Flurry went pale; there was no way she was going to clear this in time, not without getting dirty. She looked back, seeing the abyss of the cave. A nervous gulp came from her.

“It's this, or major embarrassment.” She entered the cave. The darkness of the cave made her afraid of what may be lurking in there; deep holes where she may fall, a collapse happening at any moment, or, the one that made her shiver, monsters. However, a dim light shined through. Flurry followed it, mostly out of curiosity, but to escape from the darkness, and embarrassment. With a push, Flurry found herself in what looked like a clubhouse of some sort; several drawings were on the wall, most she couldn't tell what they were, and at the end was a shut door, without a handle, and had the dim light behind it. Curiousity got the best of her, and she walked to the door, but stopped at one of carvings on the walls; it looked like a younger version of both her mom and aunt Twilight.

“... Huh, this must've been their club.” Flurry thought out loud. She couldn't help but smile as she imagined her mom and aunt carving in themselves with some rocks. Looking down, she saw a rock, looking like it was used to be the carving tool. “Hm… I think it needs an update.” She sat on her hind legs, picked up the rock, and began to carve herself.

Some time had passed, but it wasn't relative to Flurry, as she added the final touches. It was still her mom and aunt, and not only did she add herself, but also her dad, Aunt Celestia, and Aunt Luna. A sense of pride came to her, making her smile. However, her ears twitched as she heard someone approaching.

“Wha- Who's there!?” She asked, turning around. In the corner, shrouded in a brown cloak, was a figure, standing about as tall as Celestia, but stood like a Minotaur.

“... I've come to see the door to this world.” He answered in an old, but somewhat familiar voice.

“... Huh?” She tilted her head.

“This world has been connected.”

“Uh… wh-what are you talking about?”

“Tied to the darkness. Soon to be eclipsed.”

“Hey! My Aunt Celestia controls the sun! And my Aunt Luna isn't evil anymore! So, whoever you are, stop freaking me out! And where the hay did you come from?”

“... You do not know what lies beyond the door.”

“Of course I don't! What are you from? Another world, or what?”

“... There is very much to learn. You understand so little.”

“Hey! I'm learning a whole lot! I'm gonna learn everything there is to know!”

“A meaningless effort. One who knows nothing can understand nothing.”

“Are you saying I'm stupid!? I oughta-” He was gone. No trace of the hooded figure was around. “... What the-?”

“Flurry? Is that you down there?” She then heard from behind her, turning around to see her aunt, Twilight Sparkle, trotting over to where she was. “What the hay are you doing down in one of the old Canterlot Dungeons?”

“Oh… uh… well, there's this door, here, and this hooded figure, and-” She turned to see the door was gone, only a cave that lead even deeper. “What!? Where did it go!?”

“I’m starting to think you wanted to find something and got lost in the process,” Twilight sighed before looking back at her one more time. “Come with me, I’ll bring you back up to the surface.”

“... Ok…” Flurry followed her aunt before thinking to herself. ‘What were those things? Are they connected to that dream?... Or am I going crazy!?’

The afternoon had arrived to Canterlot, just moments before nighttime. Flurry Heart watched the sunset, leaning on the balcony to her room. Cadence walked over and stood next to her.

“How was Canterlot?” She asked.

“... It's pretty.” Flurry answered.

“Pretty?... I guess it is.” They both watched the sunset for a bit. “I had a talk with Luna, about your dream.” Flurry nervously swallowed.

“What did she say?”

“She said it was nothing.”

“... Nothing?”

“Nothing. You were just having a bad dream is all.”

Flurry shook her head for a moment as she looked back at Cadence in disbelief. “It didn’t feel like nothing.”

“Some dreams feel more realistic than others. That's what Luna said.” She leaned forward and gave Flurry a kiss to the forehead. “Come, tomorrow's a big day, not just for us, but for every kingdom in Equestria.” She stood up and walked inside. The sun was now gone, and up came the moon. Flurry yawned and got up.

“I'm coming.”

Donald,

Sorry to rush off without sayin’ goodbye, but there's big trouble brewin’.

Not sure why, but the stars have been blinkin’ out one by one. And that means disaster can't be far behind. I hate to leave you all but I've gotta go and check into it.

There's someone with a “Key”- the key to our survival. So I need you and Goofy to find them and stick with them. Okay?

We need that key or we're all doomed! So go to Traverse Town and find Leon. He'll point you in the right direction.

P.S.

Would ya apologize to Minnie for me? Thanks, pal.

Pluto napped away in his bed in the library. It wasn't as big as the rest of the castle, but it was as clean as the rest with floors that showed everyone's reflection. Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Daisy all stood around, contemplating on the situation.

“Oh dear,” Daisy spoke after reading the letter. “What does this mean?”

“It means we'll just have to trust the king.” Minnie answered, sounding a bit nervous.

“Gawrsh, I sure hope he's alright.” Goofy added.

“Your highness,” Donald spoke with a salute. “don't worry, we'll find the king and this ‘key’.”

“Thank you, both of you.” Minnie replied with some relief.

“Daisy, can you take care of-?”

“Of course,” Daisy interrupted. “you be careful now, both of you.”

“Oh! And to chronicle your travels,” Minnie added, gesturing to the table. “He will accompany you.” Donald looked confused, up until a small figure began to bounce in place.

“Over here!” A charming and kind natured voice spoke. The figure was a cricket wearing a fancy suit and top hat. “Cricket’s the name. Jiminey Cricket, at your service.”

“We hope for your safe return. Please, help the king.” Donald saluted in response. Goofy saluted back… while standing next to the ladies.

“You're coming too!” Donald quacked, grabbing Goofy and dragging him, along with Jiminey.

Donald and Goofy walked down a fleet of stairs that lead to the ship hangar, all right below the castle’s gardens.

“Gawrsh, Jiminey,” Goofy spoke, having a chat with the cricket on his head. “Your world disappeared too?”

“It was terrible!” Jiminey answered. “We were all scattered! And as far as I can see, I'm the only one who made it to this castle.”

“Goofy?” Donald asked.

“Oh, right!” Goofy replied. “I gotcha. While we're in other worlds, we can't let on where we're from. We've gotta protect the world border!”

“”Order"."

“Right. World order.” Donald only sighed as they went down a long hallway to the hangar. “I guess we'll need new duds when we get there, huh?”

The hangar was loud and constantly moving: gears worked simultaneously to keep the hangar working. In the middle of the room was a red ship with yellow wings to the side. Donald and Goofy walked into the hanger. The duck spoke into a one way megaphone to the hangar’s engineers; a pair of chipmunks, one with a black nose and a single tooth showing and the other with a red nose and two teeth showing.

“Hello up there?” Donald began. “Donald Duck to launch crew! Anytime you're ready.” The black nosed chipmunk saluted while the other ran across and pulled a lever. Loud hissing came from the machines as two gloves picked up the two individuals as daintly as possible, dropping them into the ship. Pluto ran down and jumped across the gap between the ship and platform, landing in the ship. A hole opened for the ship. Minnie and Daisy watched. They were meet by Donald giving them a thumbs up, followed by him pointing to the open front.

“BLAST OFF!!!” Instead of the ship blasting into space, they fell into a hole below. Both Donald and Goofy screamed their heads off as their ship fell out of the bottom of their world, now in space. The ship’s engine sputtered for a bit, but they were blasted away! Their adventure had begun, as will someone, or somepony, else.

Chapter 2

Flurry rested in her bed, struggling to go to sleep. She wanted to sleep, but not only was she excited to see some new faces, but she didn’t want a dream that was like the one from before. However, a heavy wind blew onto her window.

CRASH!!!

A lightning bolt came down, just a few meters away from the window, making Flurry shriek. She looked outside to see a large storm had came out with lightning raining down.

“W-What’s Cloudsdale doing?” She asked herself, getting up and steadily walking out. “Mom? Dad?” She did not hear any voice respond back to her. Just the sound of the storm outside as it continued to rage on. They weren't too far from her room; she may want to be independent, but there were nights when she needed somepony to be with her. However, when she got into their room, instead of seeing either of her parents in bed asleep, it was empty. “W-Wha-!? Mom!? Dad!? This better not be a-” Emerging from the floor and on the bed were the same creatures she had in the dream. Flurry gasped “T-THEY’RE REAL!!! MONSTERS!!! MONSTERS!!!” One of the creatures turned and sprinted to her. She reacted quickly, picking up a wooden sword next to her and swinging it. The toy went through the monster. “... Uh… sorry?” It swiped it’s claw at her. “EEP!!!” She ducked in time and ran away.

She sprinted around the narrow halls, seeing more of the creatures appearing, seemingly invading like Chrysalis’s changeling, but much worse. Many of the royal guards, as she saw, fought off the monsters with very little success. All Flurry could see was one of the guards falling in battle, only to have a heart come out of them. The heart floated away, only to be sucked into a black and purple glowing vortex, and appearing was another one of the dark creatures. Fear began to take hold; no matter what they did, these monsters were indestructible, and if she were to fall, she was going to become one of them.

“Go! Get out of here!” She heard her father yelling. Flurry turned and looked out of a window; she saw her father at the front gates of the castle, using some unknown magic on the monsters, turning them into floating hearts. Above him was what could only be described as a giant portal that her shadow used in the dream.

“Dad!” Flurry yelled, hoping to get his attention. She turned, only to see the last guard in the room turned into one of the creatures. It turned to her and began to make it’s way to her. “Oh no!” The filly looked out, seeing a tree just below her. “It’s better than nothing.” She jumped out of window, landing roughly in the tree, and sliding down. A few cuts and bruises were on her coat, but she was fine and not a monster. However, more of the creatures emerged right behind her. She ran to her dad, where the creatures have stopped. “Where’s mom!? We have to get out of here!”

“... The door… it has opened.” Shining spoke, clearly not acting like himself.

“What!?” He turned around. Flurry gasped as his horn wasn’t the white and straight shape it was, but rather, it was curved and grey, which transitioned to red. “D-Dad!?”

“The door’s open, Flurry! I can shut it with this new magic!”

“What are you talking about!? We have to find mom!”

“Mom isn’t here!” Flurry took a step back, surprised at what he said, and how blunt it was. “I’m sorry, Flurry, but she’s not here with us. They took her. Only I can shut this door and save Equestria, and we’ve already suffered a heavy price, but we can save everyone else and our world. We can’t let fear stop us; We can fight fire with fire! I’m not afraid of the darkness!” He reached his left hoof to her. “But I need your help.”

“... Dad…” A portal opened below her dad. It’s tentacles wrapped around him and began to slowly drag him in. Flurry took a step forward, but stop as the tentacles wrapped around her and she began to sink in. She reached to him, but her hoof couldn’t touch his. “Dad! Help me!”

“Reach, Flurry. Reach out to me!” She grunted as she tried to reach for him. The inches were becoming torture as she couldn’t touch his hoof.

“I… can’t… do it!” The darkness engulfed her once again. Everything went silent… no one was around, nothing was around… it was… empty. Then a flash of light came. The world came back as Flurry gasped for air. She looked up to see that her dad was now gone. “D-dad…?” Something felt heavy on her right hoof. She looked down; seemingly attached to her hoof was what she could only describe was a giant key. The handle was pure gold, and the rest was pure silver, with the end looking like a crown, and the same minimal mouse head on a chain at the other end.

“Keyblade…” The same voice from her dream spoke “Keyblade…” Before she could contemplate, the shadowy creatures arose in front of her. She quickly reacted by swinging the giant key at the one in front of her. It turned into a dark cloud with a heart flying away.

“... Did that just-?” She asked, but saw the creatures backing up, still intact to attacking her, but now wary of something that she’s not. Flurry held the key in both of her hooves. “B-back off… you monsters.” They all jumped her. The filly readied the key and swung in a circle, effectively knocking most back with some turning into hearts. “I said back off!” More swinging was needed. More of the shadows emerged, at least two coming for everyone she defeated. Then she heard screaming… her mother’s screaming. “MOM!!!” She ran through the crowd of monsters, only swinging when they attacked her. Eventually, she found herself in the Canterlot gardens, seeing that the cave she hid in now had a door in front of it. Not wasting any time, she ran to the door. It opened and she ran in.

None of the creatures followd her in the cave. Either this was good or bad wasn’t much up for debate as Flurry ran in. Flurry stopped as she saw her mom in front of the door from earlier.

“Mom!” She yelled. Cadence turned around slowly with a dead look in her eyes.

“Flurry…” she spoke as if she were a zombie. Cadence reached out to Flurry, only for the door to open with shadowy winds blowing everything away! Flurry stood her ground, but Cadence was flung to her. The filly was prepared to be hit, but instead, her mother fazed right through her, and disappeared into the wind.

“Mom!?” The wind blew harder and Flurry was blasted away.

Flurry Heart woke up to find herself on a small island that was part of the Canterlot gardens. She looked above to see the giant orb above of her. Around her was a tornado with other bits of the land, castle, and some of the citizens around, all screaming for their lives. The floor shook. Flurry turned around to see… the giant shadow creature from her dream.

“N-No! This can’t be happening!” She screamed. It reached it’s hand to her. “NO!!! GO AWAY!!!” She pulled the key from out of thin air and whacked it with it. It reveled in pain. Flurry looked at the key in her hooves. “It’s weakness… is this key?” The giant shadow got onto it’s knees, leaned back, and fired miniature orbs from the missing heart in it’s chest. “Gah!!!” She ran away from the orbs, hoping they’d stop, but she smacked the monster’s hands. Again, it groaned in pain. It stood back up and did the same punch-portal it did in the dream. Flurry ran and whacked it’s hand with all her might. Her fear somehow made herself stronger.

The orb above began to suck everything in, starting with the large shadow monster. Flurry grabbed onto a piece of the castle, but her grip became weak, and she was pulled into the orb above her.

“MOM!!! DAD!!! HEEEEELP!!!” She screamed before entering the orb.

Donald and Goofy walked across the floor of the world dubbed ‘Traverse Town’. Instead of his royal armor, Goofy wore a black vest over a green sweater with yellow pants and hat, which had red goggles. Donald, meanwhile, still wore his royal vest, but switched the hat that was more like a beanie. They both stopped as Goofy pointed to the open sky.

“Look, a star’s goin’ out!” He exclaimed. As he said that, one of the stars grew bright before disappearing.

“Come on, let’s hurry.” Donald replied before they began to walk forward. He crossed his arms, a bit impatient to finding who they’re looking for “Where’s that key?”

“Hey, ya know, maybe we ought to find Leon.” Pluto sniffed the floor, heading to the left side/back of a nearby jewelry store. “Uh, Donald. Ya know, I betcha that-”

“Aw, what do you know, you big palooka?” Donald continued to the right path, following the steps.

“What do I know? Hm… Come on, Pluto!” Unbeknownst to them, Pluto sniffed to something interesting.

Flurry Heart woke up to find some strange dog was licking her face. She groaned, feeling rather light headed. Pluto sat down and panted, ready for a response.

“... What a dream…” Flurry said, about to sleep again. Pluto jumped on her. “GAH!” She jumped up, shaking herself. “Oh… this isn’t a dream!” She looked around the area she was in, seeing some boxes and the fence that made up the back alley. “Wh-where am I? … Mom and Dad are NOT going to happy with this.” She turned to the dog. “Do you know where we are, doggy?” It lifted it’s right ear and ran off. “No! Wait! Come back!” She ran after the dog. However, she stopped as she saw what looked like an entirely different town with some different creatures around. “This… this is totally weird. Wait a minute… am I… AM I IN A NEW WORLD!?”

Flurry began to investigate the new world she was in. She walked down the steps and turned to a human male on the left, right in front of a barred up gate.

“Excuse me?” She spoke.

“Hello.” He replied.

“Um… can I get some info around here?”

“Sure! This town is divided into three districts. This is the first district.”

“... Is that it?”

“That’s all I know, miss.”

“... Dang it.” She walked across to a lady with a white top and a long, green dress. “Excuse me, can you tell me something about this town?”

“...Hmph, fine.” She replied, sounding rather rude. “People with nowhere else to turn come to this town. Where am I from? None of your business. Don’t ask any of that question here. Everybody’s got an unhappy past.”

“Um… okay… very pessimistic.” She walked up the stair and into the jewelry shop. Behind the counter was a man in his midlife, looking a bit buff, with a blonde, pointed up hair, wearing a white shirt, goggles, and had a toothpick in his mouth.

“Hey there,” he greeted. “How can I- Aw, it’s only a kid.”

“Oh, um, sorry.”

“Why the long face? You lost or somethin’?”

“No… well, maybe. Where am I?”

“Huh?”

It took him a while, but Flurry found out that she was in a town called Traverse Town. In return, Flurry told him about herself and where she came from.

“Traverse Town… that sounds nice. So, is this another world, sir?”

“Please, call me Cid. I’m not sure what you’re talkin’ about, but this sure ain’t your castle.”

“Oh… well, thank you, Cid! … I wonder where mom and dad are at.”

“Good luck with whatever it is you’re doing. If you ever run into trouble, you come to me. I’ll look out for you.” She blushed with a smile. Despite his ruggedness, he was nice, and this was her first friend that not only wasn’t a pony, but from another world!

“Thank you, Cid.” She walked out, feeling better. Cid smiled himself.

“Never thought I’d see a talking pony. She was cute.”

Flurry followed another fleet of stairs, but stopped as she saw what could only be described as small, white teddy bear with tiny bat wings, a large red nose, and a brighter red angler on it’s head. It was probably one of the cutest things she’s ever seen in her life. She walked to the small creature. It turned to her.

“This is the item workshop, KUPO!!!” It spoke in a squeaky voice before turning demonic when it yelled the final word. Flurry Heart screamed at that word.

“Demon!!!” She ran out of the doors.

“... Why are people afraid of that word… KUPO!!!

When Flurry Heart walked into the door, she was greeted by a man tripping over with a petrified look on his face. His heart came out and it entered the portal thing, where another one of the monsters came out, but this one was wearing dark clothes and looked like a knight with the helmet it wore. It jumped into the air and vanished away.

“... W-what just happened?” She asked to herself. Shadows emerged from the floor, and all around her were more of the shadow creatures. “N-NO!!! NOT AGAIN!!!” She ran away to the left and entered what looked like a hotel. The creatures followed her. Donald and Goofy entered through the door.

“Doesn’t look like they’re here.” Goofy spoke, looking around.

“Keep looking.” Donald replied, crossing his arms while tapping his right foot impatiently.

Flurry Heart ran to the booth and rang the bell.

“Hello!? Is anypony here!?” She asked. No response. She dinged the bell more. “Can anypony hear this!?” She looked back, then back to the booth. She pulled out the giant key and slammed it on the bell, to which it broke. “It’s broken! I broke it!” Still nothing. She looked outside “... Okay… when I get out, those monsters will be gone… and I can look for my family.” She opened the door and walked out. On both of her sides were more of the monsters. “... AHHH!!!” She jumped off of the balcony to the floor below, landing face first. With a tug, she looked up to see more of the creatures appearing. “... AHHH!!!” She got up and ran. “HELP!!! SOMEPONY!!! CAN’T YOU SEE THAT THEY’RE GOING TO KILL ME!?!?!?” She ran to the left, as more appeared to the right, and entered a house. As she entered, Donald and Goofy exited a building above.

“Not here, either.” Donald spoke, still rather impatient.

“This could take a while.” Goofy added.

Flurry took deep breaths as the blocked the entrance with her body.

“Where… did… I… go… so… wrong?” Her breathing slowed as she looked around the house. To her left, all she saw were two dalmations, both looking rather depressed. She walked to them. “Aw… what’s wrong?” The male, indicated by a red collar, looked at her, then back to the female, wearing a blue collar. “Are your owners gone? … Did you lose some puppies?” She didn’t want it to be that. Their ears perked, then lowered. A shot of guilt hit her. “Oh… I-I’m sorry. Um… i-is there any way I can help? … Perhaps… I can find them?” The male’s ears perked as it stood up, his tail wagging.

“Woof! Woof!”

“Oh then. I’ll try very hard then. How many are there?” The dog ran into another room and came back with a photo. Flurry Heart nearly had a heart attack as she counted 99 puppies. “... Oh dear. Um… I-I’ll try my hardest.”

“Woof! Woof!” She patted the dog on his head.

“I’ll be back with some of your puppies…” she read his collar. “Pongo.” Flurry explored the house, seeing how, despite all of the stuff was around, felt empty. As much as she didn’t want to, she couldn’t find all of the puppies… but somehow, she knew she was going to do it, even if it was going to take forever. She exited the house and into an alleyway. More of the shadows appeared. “... Oh, right, almost forgot about them.” She pulled the key out. “DIE, SPAWNS OF TARTARUS!!!” She swung wildly as she screamed her head off, running to the entrance. Flurry screamed loudly and ran back to the entrance; Cid was going to be there, and she needed someone to hold her.

Flurry slammed the door behind her as she entered the district with Cid in it. If she were able to, she’d lock it all up and board it up so nobody would get out, or let something in. She turned, feeling rather relieved… only to have it crushed as the creatures came out of the ground.

“... Oh no! Cid!” She screamed. Some more slicing, and she made her way into Cid’s jewelry shop. “Cid! Are you alright!?” Cid still stood behind the counter.

“Back so soon?” He asked. Flurry jumped onto him, hugging him tightly with tears coming down her face.

“Oh, Cid! I’m so glad you’re fine!”

“What the-!?” Cid lost balance and fell to the floor. “Get off me, Missy!”

“Those monsters! They’re everywhere! Quickly! Get some wood and I’ll board up the walls! We’ll make sure that they-” She was kicked out of the store.

“AND Stay out!!!” Cid slammed the door. Flurry ran to the door and slammed onto it.

“NO!!! Cid! We’re in danger!”

“They’ll come out at you out of nowhere.” A new voice spoke, this one a younger, brooding sounding man. Flurry turned to a man with long, brown and spiky hair, wearing a black leather jacket over a white shirt, and pants with three belts and multiple zippers. She pulled the giant key out.

“Who the hay are you!?”

“And they’ll keep on coming at you, as long as you continue to wield the keyblade.” He pointed at the giant key she held. “But why? Why would it choose a kid like you?”

“...Um… am I supposed to be offended… or what?”

“Nevermind.” He walked to her. “Let’s see that keyblade.”

“Um, if you want, sure, you can have it!” He tosses the giant key to him… to which it hit him on the head. “GAH!!! I-I swear! I didn’t meant for that to happen!” The man pulled out what looked like a mix between a sword and gun (indicated by the handle shaped like a revolver).

“All right, then have it your way.”

“... Mommy.” A single slice was only needed. Flurry fell down the flight of stairs that lead to Cid’s shop. The force was enough to make her fall unconscious.

“Hey, you found it.” A woman’s voice spoke. “Nice going, Leon.” The man turned to see a young woman with black hair, wearing a small, green shirt with a yellow scarf, tan short shorts with a blue belt, white stockings, and orange boots and gloves. He turned back to Flurry Heart.

“Still…” He spoke “It looks like things are worse than we thought. A lot worse.”

“And you hurt a wittle fiwwy.” She picked Flurry up. “Aww!... She’s so soft!” Leon could only face palm himself and shake his head in disappointment.

Donald and Goofy walked through the deserted back alley that Flurry ran through.

“Gawrsh, there's nobody here.” Goofy spoke. “Sure is spooky.”

“Aw phooey!” Donald replied. “I'm not scared!” A tap came to his shoulder. He screamed and jumped onto Goofy’s back.

“Excuse me,” A very kind, near shy woman’s voice spoke. “did the king send you?” The two turned to see a woman in a pink dress with brown pigtails and a matching pink bowtie.

“Come on, lazy bum. Wake up.” Cadence’s voice spoke. Flurry groaned as she woke up. Her vision was blurred, but she found herself in a different room and her head was on her mother's lap. Looking down and stroking her mane was her mother. “You ok?”

“... I guess…” She slowly answered.

“Those creatures that attacked you are after the keyblade. But it's your they really want, because you wield the keyblade.” Flurry didn't really understand what she meant, but smiled.

“I’m so glad you're alright, mom.”

“Mom? What are you talking about? I'm the great ninja, Yuffie!” Flurry's vision change and her mother turned into a different woman.

“GAH!!!” She got up and ran into a corner. “FOALNAPPERS!!!”

“... I think you overdid it, Squall.”

“That's Leon.” The man that knocked Flurry out replied, standing up from leaning against the wall. Flurry turned to him and charged at his legs.

“YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!!” She began to bite his leg and boots. Leon looked rather unimpressed by her attack… And Yuffie squeed at the sight.

“D’aww! She's so cute!”

“But annoying.” She picked Flurry up, though the filly struggled.

“Unhand me, beast! I am Princess Flurry Heart, and I will not be subjugated to-” Yuffie took the filly and gave her a huge hug. All of Flurry's screams were muffled, as her movements were invalid.

“Who's a good wittle fiwwy?” Yuffie cooed. “Yes, you are. Yes, you are!” Flurry Heart rolled her eyes at the cooing.

“I'm quite surprised that you're not acknowledging the Keyblade.” Leon added. Flurry's head popped out of Yuffie’s arms.

“Keyblade!?” She turned to see the giant key leaning on the wall. “That's what that thing is called?”

“Yep!” Yuffie answered. “We had to get it away from you to shake off those creatures. It turns out, that's how they were following you. But you're now safe with us, you wittle fiwwy you.” Flurry groaned in annoyance.

“It was the only way to conceal your heart from them.” Leon added. “But it won't work for long.”

“Well aren't you a bundle of joy.” Flurry commented.

“Still hard to believe that you of all people are the chosen one.” The Keyblade vanished and reappeared in Flurry's right hoof. Flurry was quite surprised to see the massive key appear in her hooves. “Well, I suppose beggars can't be choosers.” Flurry’s head popped out of Yufie’s grip.

“Can I PLEASE get some answers here!? I’m sick of this vague, new world, monster attacking, lost parents scenario! Tell me what the hay is even going on!”

In a red and gold, Eastern looking room, Donald, Goofy, and the strange lady they meet chatted as she sat on the edge of the bed.

“Okay, you know there are many other worlds out there besides your castle and this town, right?” She asked.

“Yeah.” Donald nodded

“But they’re supposed to be a secret.” Goofy added with a gesture to cover his mouth.

“They’ve been secret because they’ve never been connected.” She answered. “Until now. … When the Heartless came, everything changed.”

“The Heartless?” Flurry asked as she rested on Yuffie’s lap, who proceeded to scratch behind her ears.

“The ones who attacked you, remember?” Yuffie asked.

“Those without hearts.” Leon added.

“Like businessmen?” Flurry asked.

“Not really,” Yuffie replied with a giggle. “They’re attracted to the darkness in people’s hearts. That’s what attracts them… but I see what you mean.”

“And there is darkness within every heart.” Leon added

“... Including mine?” Flurry asked. Only silence came. She didn’t see herself as a perfect child, but this seemed a bit more frightening.

“Hey, have you heard of someone named Sombra?” Yuffie asked.

“Sombra?” Goofy asked

“He was studying the Heartless.” She answered “He recorded all of his findings in a very detailed report.”

“Gawrsh, uh, can we see it?” She shook her head.

“It’s pages are scattered everywhere.”

“Scattered!?” Donald asked.

“To many worlds.”

“Oh, then maybe the king went to find ‘em.” Goofy suggested.

“Yes. Those were my thoughts, exactly.”

“We’ve gotta find him quick!”

“Wait!” Donald spoke “First, we need that “key”!”

“That’s right, the keyblade.” She spoke.

“So… this is the key?” Flurry asked, holding the Keyblade in her hooves.

“Exactly!” Yuffie answered.

“The Heartless have great fear of the Keyblade.” Leon spoke. “That’s why they’ll keep coming after you, no matter what.”

“But I didn’t ask for this!” Flurry retorted

“The Keyblade chooses its master.” Yuffie replied “And it chose you!”

“So tough luck.” Leon commented, leaning against the door to the other room.

“How did this all happen?” Flurry asked “I remember being in my room-” That’s then an epiphany hit her. “Wait a minute! What happened to my home!? What happened to Equestria!? My mom and dad!?”

“... You know what?... I really don’t know.”

“... I have another question.”

“Yes?” Yuffie asked, gently setting her on the floor.

“Can Heartless look like other things as well?”

“... Well, there are other forms. Why?”

“Can they look like people?”

“I… don’t know. Why?”

“I think your friend here is a Heartless.”

“Very funny.” Leon replied, rolling his eyes.

“Don’t worry, Leon’s been a grumpy pants.” Yuffie patted Flurry’s head. “I heard that the Keyblade can open all sorts of locks. You should give it a try when you see a treasure chest or locked door.” Flurry looked to the chest on the table. With a quick hop onto it, she tapped the Keyblade on the chest as she did in the Dream. It opened and she got a strange, new potion. She walked to Leon with the potion.

“What’s this?” She asked

“An Elixir.” He answered “It’ll heal you and regain magic.”

“Oh… I better keep it then.” She put it in her wing.

“Sooner or later, the Heartless will find you. You’d best prepare yourself.”

“Prepare myself?”

“To fight for your life. Are you ready?”

“... Well… if my parents are out there, then I’m as ready as I can get.”

“... Yuffie, let’s join Aerith. She should be there by now with the other visitors.”

“LEON!!!” Yuffie screamed. Popping out of the miniature orb was one of the small, knight looking Heartless.

“Yuffie, go!” Yuffie got up and ran out of the door… unknowingly slamming Donald flat.

“Yuffie!?” The woman with Donald and Goofy asked, following her. Flurry pulled out the Keyblade.

“Flurry, let’s go!” Leon spoke before firing his gun-blade at the Heartless, blasting it out of the window. He jumped out.

“Uh… I’ll meet you down there.” Flurry spoke, running out of the room and taking the long way.

Flurry ran and caught up with Leon, who finished off another Heartless.

“Don’t bother with the small fry.” He spoke “Find the leader! Let’s go!” He ran ahead, leaving Flurry behind.

“Hey! Wait for me, jerk!” Flurry yelled, fighting off the small Heartless knights. While they didn’t go underground like the others she fought, they took a bit more of a beating, and delivered more of a punch, albeit, slower. But she got out with only a bruise.

Instead of running back to the 1st District where Cid was at, and where the dalmatians were at, she went down the other alleyway, fighting the Heartless in her way. She saw a large door and entered. It was to District 3, the final one. This one was rather lit up, compared to the dimly lit 2nd District, but it still felt eerie with the lack of people present. Flurry continued her way down.

Goofy looked down at the balcony, unsure of what he saw below, but turned back to see some Heartless appearing in front of him and Donald.

“Gawrsh, are these the Heartless guys?” He asked, pulling and hiding behind his shield.

“Let’s go get ‘em, Goofy!” Donald spoke, preparing his staff. A small explosion came and the two fell.

Flurry screamed as she saw two strange figures falling from the sky and landed right on top of her. On her right side was Goofy, and on her left was Donald. They both looked dazed, but shook their heads as they saw the Keyblade in her right hoof, sticking out.

“The key!!!” Donald and Goofy cheered simultaneously. Their moment of joy was taken away as the floor shook and pillars rose from the ground, trapping the trio in. Heartless appeared in front of them.

“Oh no! Not again!” Flurry spoke, struggling to get up. “Ugh! Can someone get their butts off of me!”

“Oh, sorry.” Goofy spoke, jumping up and readying his shield. Donald followed suit with his staff.

“Alright, let’s get ‘em!” Donald quacked. Both he and Goofy charged… but Flurry stared with a blank expression, unsure what she was just seeing. Goofy charged in with his shield, immediately knocking down some of the Heartless in front of him, with the ones being hit immediately turning into hearts. Donald, meanwhile, fired some fireballs from his staff, making those hit by the fire run around in circles and try to put it out, before they were whacked in the head by the same staff that made them go on fire.

“... I’m in a dream, aren’t I?” She asked herself. “Okay! Pretty funny, Luna! I’m aware now; I shouldn’t have stolen the cookies from the cookie jar!” As she looked up, something fell from above. What landed looked like armor, but only the bare minimum; there was a pair of gloves, boots, a breastplate, and a helmet, but they all floated in a shape that resembled a knight. “... Am I supposed to be intimidated?” It swung it’s left hand at Flurry, knocking her to the wall. She crashed and fell to the floor, coughing hard.

“Donald!” Goofy yelled.

“I gotcha!” Donald quacked, throwing a potion to Flurry. “Drink up!” The bottle hit her in the face.

“Ow!” She yelled “Okay, I’m not dreaming then.” She opened the bottle, to which a green orb flew into the sky and landed on her, instantly healing her injuries. “WOW!!! That’s some good stuff!” She got up and readied the Keyblade “Okay… Duckie and Doggy, on my mark, we hit it’s feet!”

“What did you call us!?” The feet ‘disconnected’ from the body and began to stomp everywhere.

“Now! Hit it’s feet!” Flurry swung the Keyblade at it’s feet as Goofy bashed it with his shield and Donald, though begrudgingly, whacked it with his staff. The feet shattered into multiple pieces.

“We did it!” Goofy cheered.

“Aim for the hands!” The hands began to slice at them. Flurry swung at the hands, knocking the hands back before she jumped into the air and smashed one while Donald and Goofy smashed the other. The giant Heartless changed its tactics and began to spin around fast… only for the three to deliver a powerful attack together, cracking it’s breastplate. It rattled in place, followed by it’s helmet falling to the floor. A larger heart came out of the breastplate and flew into the air. The giant heartless evaporated into the air. Flurry took a sigh of relief.

“Whew… that… was… AWESOME!!!” She cheered, followed by doing a little dance. She stopped as Donald and Goofy stared. “Oh… uh, sorry for that… the dance and what I told you both… why are you here?”

1 Explanation later

“So, you were looking for me?” Flurry asked, very intrigued. Donald and Goofy nodded.

“They, too, have been seeking for the wielder of the Keyblade.” Leon’s voice spoke from right behind. Flurry turned to see him and Yuffie standing.

“Where the hay were you two!?”

“Sorry, we’ve been busy.” Yuffie answered, patting her head. “But you took that big baddie out! You’re so cute when you danced!” Flurry blushed.

“Hey, why don’t you come with us?” Goofy asked “We can go to other worlds on our vessel.”

“... I don’t know what to think of.” Flurry spoke. “One way, this is exciting, but… I hope my mom and Dad are okay… or if I can find them.”

“Of course!” Donald spoke. Flurry’s ears perked up.

“Are you sure?” Goofy whispered.

“Who knows? But we need her to come with us to help us find the king.” Leon took a step forward.

“Flurry, go with them.” He ordered. “Especially if you want to find your family.” Flurry’s ears went down.

“Not like I have much of a choice.” she moaned

“But you can’t come along looking like that.” Donald spoke, waving a finger at her. “Understand?” Goofy looked a bit confused. “No frowning. No sad face. Ok?” Goofy leaned in

“Yeah, ya gotta look funny, like us!” Goofy added before Donald pushed him out.

“This boat runs on happy faces.”

“... Happy?” Flurry asked. She cleared her throat and looked to the two, making her best silly face. A moment of awkward silence came, and she wasn’t sure if they found it funny. It was met with Donald and Goofy laughing hard.

“That’s one funny face!” Goofy laughed. Flurry smiled.

“Okay, why not? I’ll join you guys.”

“Donald Duck.” Donald Spoke, extending his hand out.

“Name’s Goofy.” Goofy did the same.

“And I’m Flurry Heart.” Flurry repeated, placing her hoof in the middle. “But Flurry will work.”

“All for one, one for all!”

“And you can’t forget about me!” Jiminey Cricket spoke, popping out from under Goofy’s hat and standing in the middle.

“AHH!!! BUG!!!” Flurry screamed.

In a shadowy place, a vision of the group was present. Around were some figures, all surrounded by darkness

“That little squirt took down that Heartless!?” One of the figures spoke in an upset, male voice. “Who’d have thought it!?”

“Such is the power of the Keyblade.” Another male spoke spoke, this one sounding calm. “The child’s strength is not her own.”

“Why don’t we turn her into a Heartless?” A female voice asked, this one sounding rather loud “That’ll settle things quick enough.”

“And the brat’s friends are the king’s lackeys!” Another male voice, this one with a Pirate accent. “Swoggle me eyes, they’re all bilge rats by the look of them.”

“You’re no prize yourself.” Another male voice spoke, sounding just as loud as the female’s, followed by a bellowing chuckle.

“Shut up!”

“Enough.” The leader of the group spoke, this one a woman wearing a royal looking black dress with a crowned hat and having dark green skin. “The Keyblade has chosen her. Will it be she who conquers the darkness? Or will the darkness swallow her? Either way, she could be quite useful…”

Flurry, Donald, and Goofy stood with Leon, Yuffie, and the woman Donald and Goofy were with, who’s real name is Aerith. Despite the jumps she had earlier, Flurry quickly understood that Jiminey wasn’t like other bugs, and, as a bit of repayment, she’s allowed her mane to be his area for the majority of the journey. Having a bug in her mane wasn’t on Flurry’s list of things she wanted to do, but Jiminey wasn’t bothering him, and she barely felt him in her mane.

“Make sure you’re prepared for the journey ahead of you.” Leon suggested “We don’t know how far the Heartless have spread.”

“Check some of the shops here.” Yuffie also suggested “They’ve got some pretty neat stuff!”

“This is from all of us.” Aerith spoke. Flurry got herself 100 munny. “Spend it as you see fit.”

“Good luck!”

“I hope you find your family.” Flurry smiled and wiped a tear from her face.

“You’re all so kind.” She spoke before turning to Leon. “... But not you.”

“Whatever.” Leon replied “Look out for each other. Keep your spirits up.”

“The Gummi ship is out of the gate.” Donald spoke as Flurry turned to him and Goofy.

“The what?” She asked

“That’s our ship.”

“Wait ‘til you see it!” Goofy added.

“Hold on! Flurry, this is for you.” Flurry took a tome from Donald. It evaportated and went into her horn.

“... What just happened?” Flurry asked

“Now you can use magic too!”

“Magic?” She then got an image of her using magic to defeat the Heartless along with saving her family… and becoming the princess of Equestria.

“Uh… Flurry?” Goofy asked, snapping to her. She shook her head.

“Sorry! Um… let’s get ready. But first, let’s go SHOPPING!!!”

Chapter 3

Flurry quickly associated herself with Donald and Goofy’s Gummi Ship. It wasn't very spacious, nor was it cramped, but like the dalmatians, she felt that they'll improve it throughout their adventures.

“So…” Flurry began. “This thing flies around in space and to other worlds?”

“With the proper coordinates!” A squeaky voice spoke.

“Who's there!? A ghost!?”

“Down here! On the screen!” Another, albeit, dopier voice added. Flurry looked down at the screen to see the two chipmunks wearing twin overalls.

“D’aww~!” Flurry squeed. “Look at those adorable clothes!” The red nosed blushed while the other impatiently tapped his left foot.

“Ahem!” The impatient one spoke with the high pitch voice. “We’re the two who designed the Gummi ship you're in, Miss…”

“Flurry Heart. But Flurry can work.”

“Gaww, what a pretty name.” The red nosed, dopey one added.

“DALE!!!” The other one snapped. “Focus on the task on hand!” Dale shook his head.

“Oh! Right! Sorry, Chip.” He ran to the side and pulled some levers. The Gummi ship’s rockets hummed and the trio began to fly into space.

“Alright, to make it easy on you, select where you want to go and the ship will take you there. But be careful, though.” Flurry tilted her head in curiosity.

“Why?”

“The Heartless have their own defenses to prevail you from getting to that world. The Gummi has itself some defense, but you're gonna have to control it.” Flurry blinked and pointed at a button.

“Like this?”

“WAIT!!!” Donald and Goofy yelled.

Click.

WHOOSH!!!

The ship blasted away into space, throwing all of them to the back. They screamed away, having no control of the situation. Some Heartless ships flying around barely had time to react as the Gummi ship either went past their view, or exploded upon impact, lowering the ship’s shield.

“YOU'RE GOING LUDICROUS SPEED!!!” Chip and Dale yelled in unison.

“Pull the switch!” Chip yelled

“What about them?” Dale asked.

“We don't have a choice!” Dale nervously swallowed. He clicked on a bright yellow button. The Gummi Ship came to a complete, stopping at a nearby world, and making all three slam onto the front part of the ship. A collective groan came from them all.

“Next time… I’m flying.” Donald spoke.

“No arguing here.” Flurry replied, shaking her head to look at the world. It was quite strange to her; the world's ‘top’ of was a white castle, looking like they were chess pieces, with green, heart shaped hedges, and on the ‘bottom’ was a normal looking cottage surrounded by trees. The whole floor was covered with pink and magenta colored hearts in square tiles, all in a pattern.

“Huh… this is a new world?” Flurry asked

“Uh-Huh.” Goofy added.

“Seems… bland.”

“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” Chip spoke through the screen.

“Or, don’t judge a button by it’s size.” Dale added.

“Okay, I get it.” Flurry replied with some annoyance. “So… do we land, or…?”

“Leave that to me.” Donald answered, pulling out his staff. “We don’t want anyone to take the Gummi, so I shall use a teleportation spell to the nearest, safest location!”

“Ooh! Can you teleport us out of danger?”

“... Sorry, it takes a lot of energy to get from here and there, and I can’t be under attack to get us back.”

“Oh… I guess that’s alright.” She took a deep breath. “Alright! Let’s go!” Donald waved a staff his staff, and with a puff of smoke, they were on the world… or at least, over a gaping hole.

“... Oh dear.” They all fell down. While most falls, as far as they could tell, would be fast, this fall felt very slow, and pretty gentle. The walls turned purple, and clocks tick-tocked away. It felt like eternity, allowing Goofy a well deserved nap. Flurry would’ve joined, but she snapped awake as she saw the floor. It looked like a living room, complete with a couch, some potted plants, various framings on the wall, and a fireplace. Flurry and Donald landed on their feet, though Goofy flopped onto the floor, snorting awake in shock. However, something caught them all off guard: Running past them was a white rabbit wearing a red suit, small glasses, and held a large clock in it’s left paw.

“Oh, my fur and whiskers!” It panted as he ran, “I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!!! Oh dear, oh dear, oh, dear! I’m here, I should be there! I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!!! The Queen! She’ll have my head for sure!!!” It ran down and hall and dissapeared.

“... Okay… that happened.” Flurry commented. “Where are we, exactly?”

“I dunno,” Goofy spoke, standing up. “But we better check it out.”

“No meddling with other worlds, remember?” Donald spoke. Flurry tilted her head.

“Why? Aren’t we already here?”

“We’re here, but we can’t get too involved with the locals. We have to be in and out, ASAP.”

“Oh… I guess… so… follow the rabbit?” Donald and Goofy nodded. Flurry stretched her legs and wings. “Alrighty then! Let’s see where he’s going.” They walked down the hallway, stopping at a large door. Flurry opened it, only see another a smaller door behind that. “What the-!?” Another open, and another smaller door. “Why you little-!” Another door. A new room. “... Ah, okay then.” They walked in.

The room was very small. Everything felt a bit cramped, and things seemed either too big or too small. Flurry saw the rabbit from earlier run across the floor, smaller than earlier, running into another door, which shut behind him. The door, at least the doorknob, looked like it had a face with the nose as the handle. Flurry crouched to the door, very curious.

“How’d he get so small?” She asked aloud.

“No, you’re simply too big.” The doorknob smoke with a yawn. The trio jumped.

“GAH!!! It talks!” Donald screamed.

“DEMON!!!” Flurry added, hiding behind Goofy. The doorknob yawned loudly.

“Must you be so loud?” It asked. “You woke me up.”

“... Good morning.” Goofy waved.

“Good night! I need a bit more sleep.” He yawned again.

“Wait!” Flurry spoke, leaning closer. “What do we have to do to get small!?” It yawned again.

“Why don’t you try the bottle over there?” A table and chair appeared in the middle of the room with two bottles, one blue and the other red. Flurry looked at the door.

“Will you open?” It snored away. “... Lazybones.” She looked to the right of the doorknob. Next to it, blocked by a bed, was an open door. Flurry looked at the bed. She turned around and gave it a good buck. The bed went into the wall, becoming similar to a painting. “... Better than nothing.” She turned to the bottles. “... Red or Blue, guys?”

“Uh… Red.” Goofy suggested.

“Blue!” Donald quacked.

“Um…” Flurry thought. She covered her eyes and spoke to herself. “Eenie, meenie, miney, moe…” She grabbed the blue and drank it. Everything began to grow. She, Donald, and Goofy were shrinking.. They stopped at about twice as tall as the bottles. “Yes! First try!”

“Called it.”

“... Uh oh! Heartless!” Goofy pointed. Some Heartless appeared on the floor, including a new type: floating, small, red colored ones. The red ones fired fireballs at them. Flurry ducked with only her tail getting a good crispy end.

“... You’ve done goofed, Heartless.” Flurry spoke in a stern tone. She pulled the keyblade out and jumped out. “FLUUURY!!! HEARTY!!!”

“... Oh my gosh, she just ran in.” Donald spoke. They jumped into battle with her. Surprisingly, despite their fight, the doorknob snored away.

The trio entered what looked like a castle garden. The hedges were shaped like hearts, and various playing cards walked around as the knights. While there were heart cards, there were also spade cards, each with a head matching their symbols, each holding either a spear or an ax. Sitting on a throne was a large woman wearing a red and black gown and a small tiara to her otherwise large head, and in front of her, standing on a podium, was a little blonde girl with a baby blue dress on. The rabbit ran up to a stand, panted for a bit, and blew into a trumpet.

“Court is now in session!” He wheezed.

“I’m on trial?” The girl asked in a sweet and very innocent tone. “But why?”

“Her majesty, the Queen of Hearts, presiding!” The queen stood, but had fury in her eyes.

“This girl is the culprit!” The yelled, slamming her heart shaped gravel. “There’s no doubt about it. And the reason is… because I say so, that’s why!”

“That is so unfair!” The girl spoke up.

“Well, have you anything to say in your defense?” She pointed her gravel at the girl accusingly.

“Of course! I’ve gone absolutely nothing wrong! You may be queen, but I’m afraid that doesn’t give the right to be so… so mean!”

SILENCE!!! You dare defy ME!?”

“... I think we ought to help that girl out.” Flurry spoke.

“Yeah, but the-” Donald spoke

“We’re outsiders.” Goofy interrupted. “So wouldn’t that be muddling?”

“Meddling!”

“Oh yeah, that’s against the rules.” Flurry gave a curious look at the court, not listening to either.

“The court finds the defendant…” The queen spoke “GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!

“Uh oh.” Flurry spoke, her eyes widening and pupils shrinking.

“For the crimes of assault and attempted theft of my heart-”

“Heart thief?”

“OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!”

“No! No!” The girls screamed “Oh, please!”

“Hold it right there!” Flurry ordered, running and interrupting the court. Donald and Goofy followed

“Who are you!?” The queen demanded. “How dare you interfere with my court!?”

“Princess Flurry Heart, heir of Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor, representative of the Crystal Empire. We know who the culprit is that tried to steal your heart.”

“Uh huh.” Goofy added “It’s the heartle-” He covered his own mouth. Flurry rolled her eyes.

“Anyways, she’s not the one you’re looking for.”

“That’s nonsense!” The queen replied. “Have you any proof?”

“Depends, do you?” The queen stared at them. Flurry gave a smug smile. It was short lived as the girl was put in a birdcage.

“Bring me evidence of Alice’s innocence! Fail, and it’s off with all of your heads! Gather as much or little evidence if you please. Report back once you’re ready.”

“Way to go, Flurry.” Donald scolded.

“It’s her or us.” Flurry replied “But I have a good feeling that we’ll all get out of here.” She turned to see a spade guard next to an open door in the hedge. “Excuse me, but where does this lead to?”

“The Lotus forest.” He answered with a growl. “Now get out before the queen has MY head.”

“Oh… sorry.” They walked into the forest… or, small segment of a forest. A large tree stood in the middle with tall grass acting like walls, with flowers and lily pads on trunks decorating the place. A bouncing, magenta and pink, grinning cat head floated in front of Flurry. “What the-!?” It disappeared and reappeared around, before it stopped on a stump next to them. A cat-like body turned visible… balancing on the head, headless. The body picked up the cat head, which still had it’s grin, and put it on like a hat before posing like a dancer.

“Who are you!?” Donald asked in shock.

“Who indeed?” The cat replied in a mischievous tone.

“But… you’re a cat!” Flurry replied.

“A cheshire cat.” It lifted it’s ears with it’s tail like a hat. “Poor Alice, soon to lose her head, and she’s not guilty of a thing.”

“Yeah, we gotta help her… hold on… if you know who the culprit is, then tell the queen!”

“The Cheshire Cat knows the truth, but doesn’t always tell. The answer, the culprit, the cat all lie in darkness.” He disappeared.

“Hey! Wait!!!”

“They’ve already left the forest. I won’t tell the exit. There are four pieces of evidence in all. Three are a cinch to find. The fourth is tricky. Big reward if you find them all.”

“... Should we trust him?” Goofy asked. The cat appeared on Flurry’s back.

“To trust or not to trust? I trust you’ll decide.” He dissapeared, followed by more heartless appearing.

“Uh oh!”

When all of the Heartless were gone, Flurry entered walked past one of the grass walls, seeing a pink box.

“Um… Keyblade?” She tapped the box. It somehow contained footprints. “... Ok… not gonna ask how, but we should continue.” She looked at some mushrooms near them. “Something up here?” She hopped on each mushroom, finding an open door in the tree.

“Think something’s in there?” Goofy asked

“It’s better than nothing.” Flurry entered.

Somehow, the door in the tree dropped them into the same room with the door, but were on the stove. Another box was there. Flurry opened it with the keyblade. Somehow, they got stench. It stunk. Flurry covered her nose.

“Ugh! I hope it doesn’t stick on me!” They hopped back down, went past the courtyard, and back into the forest. She saw some mushrooms in the back. “Ooh! More platforms?”

“Maybe.” Donald replied. They hopped on the fungi and onto one of the lilypads. There was a box on it. Inside of it was an antenna.

“Yeesh! That has got to be painful.” She turned to see a chest. “Ooh! Treasure!” She ran and opened the chest. Three dalmatian puppies were inside, barking happily before disappearing into a bright light. “No!!! PUPPIES!!!” She looked down and saw a note. “Hm? What’s this?” She picked it up and read it.

To anyone who reads this,

Thank you for opening this chest. Even though I’m the spirit of Chaos, I can never get these chests to open. There’s a bunch of these chests, all in different worlds, each containing three puppies inside. Don’t ask me how I know this. But, I’ve sent these pups back to their home; I may be a jerk, but I’m no monster… especially with my best friend around.

Sincerely,

~Q

“... Huh… that’s convenient.” Flurry spoke, having hopped down, reading the letter to the entrance of the forest.

“Psst! Kid!” A voice spoke. Flurry looked around.

“Who said that?”

“Me! The flower.” Flurry turned to seed a golden flower, still as a bulb.

“Oh… a talking flower?... How weird.”

“Give me a potion and I’ll make you bigger.” Flurry blinked.

“I don’t think we should listen to it.” Goofy spoke.

“Yeah! Beat it!” Donald added. Flurry, however, pulled one out.

“Here ya go!” She handed it to the flower. The flower blossomed, and Flurry grew! Donald and Goofy ran.

“Run away!!!” They yelled. Flurry looked down.

“... I am a giant!!!” She yelled. “... Or normal now?... I can’t tell.” She tripped and fell on the log where the Cheshire cat stood on. It sunk into the floor and a lily pad came out of the wall. “... Oh… that’s neat. Uh… how do I get small?” Her stomach growled. “Oh, I forgot how hungry I am.” She looked at the tree. A single, large nut seemed out of reach, even for the keyblade. Flurry licked her lips in hunger. “So tasty looking.” She smacked the tree.

“OW!!!” A voice yelled. Flurry jumped back, but looked at the nut. She swiped it with the keyblade, knocking the tree on accident. “That hurts!”

“Sorry!” She picked up the nut and took a bite. She murred to herself, but saw herself shrinking. “... That was also convenient.” Flurry looked at the way the lilypads turned into a platform. “... Oh! I know what we have to do!” Donald and Goofy followed her. The filly jumped on the mushrooms in the first clue location, and jumped on the lilypad-path. They fell, landing on a spigot in the same room with the key. Across from them was the last box. “YES!!!” They jumped across. Flurry opened the box. It had Claw marks.

“We did it!” Goofy cheered.

“Now let’s free Alice and get out of here!” Donald added. The cheshire cat appeared on the spigot they had landed on.

“Well, look at what you found.” He spoke, still having that smile. “Nice going.”

“Thank you!” Flurry replied “With these, we can save Alice!”

“Don’t be so sure. She may be innocent, but what about you?”

“... What do you mean?”

“I won’t tell, but I’ll give you something.” He pulled a tome out and opened it. The book was sucked into Flurry’s horn. It felt a bit freezing, but it was gone as it went into the Keyblade. “Now you can… chill out!” He giggled as he disappeared. Flurry glared.

“Really? An ice pun?”

They returned to the courtyard. Flurry walked to the guard in front of the Queen’s podium.

“Are you ready to present evidence to the queen?” He asked.

“We have all we need!” Flurry nodded.

“Very well. Counsel, step up to the podium!”

Donald and Goofy stood as the Jury on the side. Flurry stood alone, in front of the queen on her own stand.

“Now, show me what you have found.” The Queen spoke. Flurry bowed.

“But of course.” Flurry presented the four boxes they found.

“Well, that’s certainly a lot of evidence, but I’m not impressed. Cards! Bring forth my evidence!” The card guards saluted, presenting a fifth, equally identifiable box. The boxes gathered into one box and were shaken up, then spewed out in a straight row. “Hmm… checking all five would be a waste of time… Alright then! Choose the one you wish to present, ‘Princess’ Flurry Heart. I’ll decide who’s guilty based on that evidence.”

“What!? After all of the trouble for collecting them!?”

YOU DARE OBJECT!?!?!? THEN YOU WILL LOSE YOUR HEAD!!! NOW CHOOSE A BOX!!!

“... Fine. I have a good feeling about this.” Flurry walked to the middle box. “I choose this one.”

“ARE YOU CERTAIN!? NO SECOND CHANCES!!!

“You don’t have to yell all the time. And yes, I am confident in this one.”

“Let’s see who the culprit is!” The box opened. Out came Flurry Heart herself. Flurry stared in complete silence. “YOU’RE THE CULPRIT!?!?!?”

“NO! It’s not me! It’s-!”

“SILENCE!!! I AM THE LAW HERE!!!”

“THIS IS RIGGED!!!” She turned and made a break for it.

“OFF WITH HER HEAD!!!” The cards all jumped into action, blocking the exits. A tower with wheels popped up, manned by a single card, which caused Alice’s cage to be covered behind a red curtain and lifted the cage up. Flurry took the keyblade out and took her stance.

“Why is this world so crazy?”

“Flurry!” Donald yelled, jumping off and standing by her side. Donald followed, both pulling out their own weapon.

“I told you: no meddling with other worlds!” Donald quacked.

“Sheesh, I’m sorry!” Flurry replied with some spite in her tone. They battled against the cards as the Queen yelled her head off and slammed her stand with the heart shaped gravel. Unfortunately, for the trio, the cards didn’t disappear like the Heartless, but rather, were knocked out momentarily, stood back up with a shake, and jumped back into the action. Then Flurry got an idea. “Oh! This should work!” She turned and smashed the small tower. With a few strikes, the tower turned to dust. Still wanting to help, Flurry ran to the cage and uncovered it… only to see that Alice had disappeared. “What the-!?” The cards and the queen noticed, stopping the fight. Donald and Goofy walked next to Flurry.

“She must’ve been kidnapped when we were fighting.” Donald spoke.

“YOU FOOLS!!!” The Queen yelled. “Find the one behind this! I don’t care how!!!” The cards saluted and ran in fear.

“Gawrsh, where do you think she’s gone?” Goofy asked.

“I don’t know.” Flurry answered, but turned to the forest. “But I have a feeling a certain cat does.”

The trio walked into the forest. On their right, one of the flowers sneezed… in which a large boulder came flying out, landing near the puddle to their left. It was then the Cheshire cat appeared, resting his head on the boulder, still with his grin. Flurry walked to the cat.

“Have you seen Alice, Cheshy?” Flurry asked

“Cheshy?” Donald asked with a confused tone.

“Alice, no.” The cat answered “Shadows, yes!”

“Where did they go!?” Goofy asked.

“This way? That way? Does it matter? Left, right, up, down! All mixed up thanks to the shadows! Steep deeper to the deserted garden; you might find shadows in the upside-down room.” He vanished away. Flurry turned to the flower that made her bigger.

“You’ll still make me big if I give you a potion?” She asked.

“I keep my word.” The flower answered.

“Here ya go.” Another potion, another giant time. Flurry turned to the boulder, now looking more like a rock, and kicked it into the puddle nearby. The two lily pads turned into platforms. As much as Flurry wanted to explore, she was focused on the rest of the forest… which had Mushroom hat wearing Heartless that, surprisingly, didn’t attack them. “Um… to the end, I guess?” She ate a nut on the tree, shrank, and walked to the end of the forest. A new path was open. They entered.

The place was a garden, but it looked like a tea party was being held. Some various characters all sat on their own seat, each looking different, but only one of them felt strangely familiar; it looked like a mish-mash of various creatures, sitting and drinking some chocolate milk from a glass.

“And I told Timmy,” he spoke, “Yes! Make a live action movie of Wonderland! But just call it Alice in Wonderland, not Grown Up-Alice Returns to Underland!” The other guests roared with laughter.

“You are a riot!” A man wearing a golden, horned helmet spoke. “I can’t believe you did something utterly so… tricky!”

“Oh, puh-lease! That’s easy! The hardest part was a sequel!”

“A sequel!?” An old-man looking puppet spoke. “Why’d they make a number 2!?”

“Probably because they had to take one.” Another old-man puppet added, both laughing at their joke.

“Anybody interested in some cheese!?” A middle aged looking man in a fancy, horizontal lined magenta and red suit spoke in a Scottish accent.

“Um… what’s going on?” Flurry asked aloud. They all turned to her.

“Uh-oh! Wrong game!” The Scottish man yelled, running away with wheels of cheese.

“Oh no! I can’t let Odin find me!” The horn wearing man spoke, teleporting away with a wave of his hands.

“Can we go now?” Two puppeteers asked, holding the old-men puppets. Without an answer, they walked past the trio. The strange creature remained and gave a frightened look at Flurry.

“F-F-Flurry!? How did you-!?” He ran to the painting of a goofy looking man wearing a green top hat with a brown, equally crazed looking rabbit. “Mad hatter! March Hare! You said this was a private world I can go to! No one would know of this!”

“Uh… do we know each other?” Flurry asked. He paused and turned to her. The weird creature slithered to her.

“You don’t know me?”

“... Should I know you? You seem to know me very well. … Are you a Heartless?”

“A heartless!? Pfft! I may be the Spirit of Chaos, but I am in no way a heartless being!”

“... So… who are you?” The creature cleared his throat.

“I am Discord! Lord of Chaos! And I am your Father!!!”

“WHAT!?!?!?” A long pause came... right before Discord smiled wildly.

“Pfft! HAHAHAHA!!! You should see the look on your face! Me? Your father!? Hoo! Plot twist of the century! Nope, I am your father’s, brother’s, nephew’s, cousin’s, former roommate.”

Flurry thought it over for a moment… before then saying something. “My dad doesn’t have a brother… and I thought you were with Fluttershy?”  Discord smacked himself in the face.

“Kids these days… not seeing any of the classic comedies.... And what do you know about Fluttershy!? You didn’t know about me half a second ago! Hmph, lazy writers.”

“She told me you can be a bit… well…”

“Like Donald?” Goofy then asked.

“HEY! I take offense to that!!!” The mage snapped.

“The only thing that’s offensive is the fact that you were banned in Finland because you never wore pants...” Discord spoke, only confusing everyone else in the room. “But your mother never told you about me!? How I was your babysitter for the first and last time!? Before you utterly destroyed my love for babies and kids!?”

“She… well…” Flurry said for a moment before she began to remember her mother… and the night she disappeared.

“Ah! Forget it! I’m already breaking that restraining order that lasts for 1000 years. What is it with you princesses and the 1000 years thing? Couldn’t it be 500 years? 27 years? Heck, even 1 million years! Why 1000!?”

“I think I’m beginning to understand why Mr. Discord here fits right in with the… locals.” Jiminey Cricket said from on top of Flurry’s head as he began to jot some notes in his journal.

“Who said that!? I’ll have you know that I am not a local here! I have a summer vacation home here, but I don’t live here!” He looked at her mane, seeing the cricket. “Oh… another Disney character. Where’s your wooden boy? The boy from the very dark Italian story?”

“You know about Pinocchio?” The Cricket asked. “How do you-?”

“I’m a literate. I read books. And I must say, before Disney got a hold of you and all of the other famous stories, sweet Celestia, everything was dark, even for my taste! And I like Italian!”

“Discord, what are you doing here?” Flurry then asked at the point where she felt that she finally had enough of the shenanigans and stared her down… ironically with the same stare that Fluttershy would use.

“Me? Why, celebrating my Un-birthday, of course!”

“No, I mean… what are you doing here?” She clarified. “I thought that Equestria and it’s inhabitants were swallowed up by the heartless. How are you-?”

“Swallowed up!? Wait… then that means-!” He gasped, snapping and teleporting away. A few seconds later, he returned. “Whoo! Welp, bad news is, Equestria is gone.”

“Noted…” Flurry Heart replied dully.

“But the good news is that Fluttershy is safe in that world she went to those years ago!” Flurry stared sternly “... Oh, and all her friend as well… except for your parents… I have no idea where they are.” The young alicorn looked back at him for a moment and sighed… before thinking of something else to ask.

“What about Aunt Celestia? Aunt Luna? Anypony else?”

“Like I said, they’re all with Fluttershy. They’re gonna have to adapt to wearing clothes and stand upright where they’re in. And speaking of!” He snapped and pulled out some clothes for Flurry: it was a red outfit with some blue on it… and large, yellow, clown-like shoes.

“... Do I have to wear those shoes?”

“Yes you have. You’re replacing Sora, so you have to dress the part.”

“Sora?” Donald asked.

“Hmm… sounds familiar.” Goofy added.

“... I’m fine with going naked.” Flurry replied. “Or just with keeping the jacket though… I’m not one for those kind of pants.”

“Oh sure… end up banned from Finland like Donald for the same reason.” Discord said while rolling his eyes

“You’re naked too!”

“... Dang it! Now I’m NSFW material!” He put on an orange Zoot suit. “There! Much better! And fancier than yours, cockroach.”

“I’m a cricket.” Jiminey replied with some annoyance in his tone.

“...... I think I’ve seen that in a movie once.” Flurry said, shrugging her shoulders as she looked at Discord

“Alright, enough questions about me. What are YOU doing here?” Discord asked, stroking his fake mustache.

“I’m trying to look for my family, Discord. I’m just with my new friends, Donald and Goofy, who-”

“Are searching for their king, Mickey Mouse.” Discord replied, sounding like a new person while his horn and antler turned into circles. “Ha-ha!”

“... GET HIM!!!” Donald yelled. He and Goofy tackled Discord, only for him to teleport away and float in the air.

“Sheesh, and I thought saying Hugh Mungus to that SJW was bad.” He lowered to them. “Listen, if you’re gonna hurt me, then you’re gonna have to hurt everyone on earth that has ever lived, which will take forever since you have to beat up over 4 billion people… starting with the readers, of course.”

Flurry sighed, summoning her keyblade for a moment to see what kind of reaction Discord would have to that. Not to intimidate him, but more likely get him to actually start making sense… something that seemed rather impossible, given that this was Discord after all.

“... Pointing the keyblade at me? You know the beam only fires when you discover this world’s keyhole, right?”

“Keyhole?” She asked. “I was just wanting to know if candy would fall out if I smacked you with this.”

“Oops! I said too much!” He teleported away, but his voice remained. “You should enter through that door and light the room. I’m sure Cheshy will be there.”

“Hey! I call him that!”

“I called him that first!” Flurry rolled her eyes and entered the door.

“I’m gonna get my hands on him when this is over.” Donald grumbled to himself.

“Feathers!” Discord corrected.

When they got into the room, everything looked weird… until they looked up. They were upside-down! The cheshire cat appeared above them.

“They’re hiding somewhere.” He spoke with a chuckle “And the momeraths outgrabe.”

“... What?” Flurry asked.

“Want to find the shadows? Try turning on the light.” He disappeared once again. Some Heartless appeared, surrounding two candles on the floor/ceiling they were on.

“Oh boy! Combat!” Discord’s voice spoke, followed by the munching of popcorn. “Care for some, Cheshy?”

“I would, Dissy!” The Cheshire Cat’s voice replied, munching along with him.

“Hey!” Flurry yelled, swinging at the Heartless. “Can’t you help!?”

“Busy eating!” Discord replied with a mouthful,

Eventually, the Heartless were defeated, leading Flurry to light one of the candles. On the technically true floor, a potted flower came next to the sleeping doorknob, who was STILL asleep. The Cheshire Cat reappeared with a bucket of popcorn on his head.

“It’s too dim.” He spoke. “Make it brighter.”

“And him as well!” Discord snickered. The Cat’s face went sour as he disappeared. Only the sounds of various crashes, horns, animal noises, and something breaking could be heard. Flurry lit the next candle. Cheshy came back, back with his grin.

“All the lights are on. You’ll see the shadows soon. They’ll arise in this room, but somewhere else. The shadows might go over that doorknob too.”

“... I don’t think anyone’s gonna miss that guy.” Loud horns blared a crowd going ‘Oh!’ played as a song yelling ‘I am the one’ was heard, making her jump. The jump itself was so great, she broke through the ceiling’s gravity and fell down to the table. Cheshy was there, who looked surprise at how they came here.

“... Well, you’re here quick.” He grinned again as he began to bounce around. “The shadows should be here soon! Are you prepared for the worst? If not, too bad!” He pointed to the ceiling. They all looked up; down from the ceiling came a rather unique looking Heartless; it did some acrobatics before showing that it was taller than their small size, had two legs that seperated and connected back to the feet, arms that looked and were thin as crumpled paper, the ‘hat’ was red and black, with each stripe having their own face, and juggled two batons. Flurry screamed.

“What the heck is that!?”

“Ooh! A Trickmaster!” Discord’s voice spoke “Don’t worry, just-” Flurry grabbed the red bottle and drank it, growing to her normal size. “HEY!!! No fair!”

“Take that!” She yelled, whacking it with the Keyblade. It slammed into the wall, leaving a dent. Flurry Heart began to whack it over and over, crumbling it like paper with each hit. “You! WILL! NOT! HURT! ME! OR! MY! FRIENDS!!!” With the last strike, the Heartless fell it’s knees, then onto it’s back. A larger heart came out as the body disappeared into darkness. Discord appeared, small, on Flurry’s nose.

“BOO!!! Worst boss fight ever! 10 Out of 10 ~ IGN!” He crossed his arms before snapping, making Flurry small again.

“What!? I was using my knowledge to my advantage!”

“And I was going to give you some major hints to beat that guy! You’re no fun!” The doorknob yawned loudly.

“What a racket.” It groaned. “How’s a doorknob to get any sleep?” It yawned loudly, but a keyhole appeared in his mouth. The trio looked into it, a bit surprised to see something that they didn’t see, as the keyhole glowed. The Keyblade glowed, and Flurry, without much control, pointed it at the keyhole, as it fired a blue beam at the keyhole. A ‘Click’ was heard, affirming that something had just locked up.

“What was that!?” Donald asked

“You heard that?” Flurry asked, regaining control over the keyblade. “It sounded like something locked.”

“This world is now locked away.” Discord spoke, wrapping himself around Flurry’s horn.

“... What?”

“You locked this world away! You saved this world from those dark creatures!”

“...How, exactly?”

“I don’t know. I haven’t played any of the mind bending, confusing games that take place prior to this with a lore that would make Hideo Kojima smile at.” The Chshire cat appeared on the table.

“Splendid! You’re quite the heroes!” He cheered. “If you’re looking for Alice, she’s not here. She’s gone! Off with the shadows, into darkness!”

“Oh no.” Flurry groaned as Cheshy vanished.

“Let’s get back to our gummi ship.” Donald spoke “We might find her in another world.”

“Yeah, the final one.” Discord mumbled. Flurry looked to Discord.

“You seem to know much about what’s going on around here.” She speculated.

“But of course! Not all, but for the most part, yes. Why do you ask?”

“... I’m probably going to regret this… but would you like to join us?” Discord gasped, but went back to his normal self, doing his own manicure.

“I don’t know. What’s in it for me?”

“... Adventure?”

“Friendship!” Goofy added

“Munny!” Donald added.

“Hm… something better will do.” Discord concluded.

“... Uh… you get to be a main cast member?” Flurry confluded, trying to think like Discord.

“... Deal!”

“Yes! So, areyou going to help fight!?”

“Pfft! No!”

“But… but why?”

“For starters, you need to be strong, and if I were to help you out, where would the hardships be?”

“... Well, I can understand, but-”

“And what are you going to tell your mother? And your father? I don’t want to be the father figure your dad wasn’t.”

“Hey!”

“And, finally, while I won’t be fighting, I will give you hints, not unlike Jiminey, who stays silent.”

“I resent that!” The cricket yelled.

“... Alright, I guess this can work.” Flurry concluded. “But I don’t think Jiminey would you to be near him. I guess my tail can work, but-”

“A-tatata!” Discord hushed. “I know what will work. Just be calm.”

“Calm? What do you-?” Discord flew into her left ear. Flurry froze as she felt Discord squirm into her ear, passing through, and entering her head!

“Ooh! It’s so dense in here!” His voice echoed in her head. Her vision became blurred, but Donald and Goofy gasped as Discord was seen in Flurry’s eyes.

“... I need an adult.” Her vision focused on Discord, who had a sly grin across his face.

“I am an adult.”

“... I’m starting to regret this decision.”

Somewhere else.

In the backyard of a house, an anthropomorphic fox wearing a green, palm tree printed button up shirt watched as Celestia, Luna, and the Elements of Harmony struggled to stand upright... all except for the butter-yellow pagasus with a long pink mane & tail, wearing a blue dress.

"Are you sure your friends can stand upright?" The fox asked.

"... We should give them some time." The pegasus replied. "They're going to need all of the practice they can get."

"... I'm going to safely say that they're gonna need a whole lot of heck of practice to become citizens like Carrots and I."

"Oh! How's Judy been?"

"She's been doing great! I'm just glad we only have two kids and not a bunny load."

"D'aww! I'd like to meet them!"
