Minerva's Quest
Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - The first offense
It has been said that if you go to the crossroads between to Oak Trees and say the words "Oh Phoenix, Oh Phoenix, I wish to seek your knowledge.", An all knowing Phoenix will come down and answer your questions.
"Oh Phoenix, Oh Phoenix, I wish to seek your knowledge." I asked while standing between the great oak trees that towered before me. The wind spiraled and twirled, leaves flying around me like magic. In awe, I saw as the majestic bird glided on her sky blue wings and perch in front of me.
"Oh young mare, Oh young mare of a green mane and pink coat, I am Minerva. What question plagues you today?"
"Are you absolute you can answer this? It's a question that has been on my mind forever."
"Young one, I know all and see all. I know all answers and see all answers. There isn't a possible question whom I cannot answer."
I took her words to heart and looked at the Phoenix with a straight face. Finally, my most complicated and frustrating question that has kept me up so many nights is finally gonna be answer. "How do you open a pickle jar with hooves?"
"Excuse me?"
"Think about it, How does hooves manage to twist and open a pickle jar when really it shouldn't work at all!"
I watched as the Phoenix sighed while burying her beak into her wing. "Young one...I am an all seeing Phoenix with an infinite amount of knowledge"
"Mmhmm..."
"I know all, including how the universe began it's cycle and how the very fabric of space is created."
"Yes."
"So why, dear Young one, do you wish to know such a question."
"Because you should know the answer..."
"And I do, but what would you, Young one whom has a horn under one's hat, do with such information..." Her voice strained in an exasperated and frustrated sigh.
"Win at jeopardy???"
With a deep and discontented moan, The Phoenix revealed me my answer. "Oh young mare, Oh young mare whom's eyes are those of sapphires, You can open a pickle jar with hooves by inserting your hoof in the top and twisting it....if that doesn't work tap the side of the cap a bit before trying to open it."
"Oh! I see, Thank you Ms. Phoenix!"
"Not a problem dear Young one...I answer all questions in the pursuit of knowledge....is there any thing else?"
"Nope. Thank you!" I trotted away contently, happy to finally know the question which had bothered me for so long. At the corner of my eye, I saw the phoenix shake her head and fly back up, disappearing as if she had never been there to begin with.
