Sitting on the floor of the sports centre like normal for their Magical Defence Education class, or M.D.E as they abbreviate it, Edward and Twilight were sitting as normal when the instructor showed up. A bald elderly gentleman wearing a loose-fitting Hawaiian shirt, loose purple shorts and sandals. He's bald, has a medium length white beard and wears red-rimmed sunglasses.

"Go on vacation for a few months and all hell breaks loose, I swear," The man grumbles as he walks over to stand a few feet away from the class, "Well, as you can guess, your regular M.D.E teacher has returned... "

Waving his hand across the floor in front of him, a square is outlined before opening and a terminal is raised up. Pushing a few keys on the touchpad, the main portion of the gym begins to shift and change to form an arena.

"Umm, sir..? Mr Biceps never showed us this function of the sports centre before." A Hydra House student states from the class.

"Oh, really? I guess we normally train the first and second years on mats before moving them in the third year to simulated field training... However, I believe in real combat, you won't have mats, you won't have the luxury of such safe environments. Now, let's see who should start us off... I remember correctly, Alexander?" The man looks around before frowning.

"Alexander's been absent since this morning, sir." A Wyvern House student exclaims.

"Hmm... That's abnormal, while I'd not put it past him to skip other classes, M.D.E on the other hand... I guess we'll go with the second best option, Edward!" The instructor looks at Edward who blinks.

"W-what..? WHAT?!" Edward exclaims staring at the instructor.

"You heard me, come on, up here, I'm not getting any younger." The instructor states typing on the pad.

Edward sighs and stands up before following the instructor's directions to stand in the middle of the formed mountain arena.

"Sir, are you sure..? I don't feel comfortable doing this..." Edward whines moving a pouch from his pocket to attach to the hem of his shorts.

Ignoring Edward's plea for mercy, the instructor sends in the first wave. One Hydra, two Golem, one Valkyrie and one Wyvern onto the field to face Edward. After twenty minutes of explosions, dust and smashing environmental noises, along with one or two flying poles of metal the arena settles down.

"If some of you could just retrieve them for me, I'll be selecting the next few..." The instructor states while looking through the terminal data.

Edward comes walking out of the arena, checking his shoulder and sighing to himself. "Am I done..?"

"Nope. Just a few more, should be no problem. Oh, try a little less flying poles this time." The elderly man chuckles weirdly.

"Of course, Master Roshi..." Edward sighs deeply as he walks back in after the others carry out their classmates.

Looking very confused, Twilight decides to cast an observation spell in order to look over the arena from above. Sending in another five students, Master Roshi, as he was called, picked two Hydra, one Wyvern, one Valkyrie and one Golem house members this time. Watching the fight this time, Twilight can see the five are of mixed houses, which makes sense to get the most diversity in combat training. Fixing the arena using the terminal, the five begin to approach Edward slightly unsure of their tactics. Deciding for a quick finish, the two Hydra students begin channelling their aqua magic while the Valkyrie charges up her hands. Using this time to be distractions, the Wyvern and Golem students move in for close range combat. Prior to their attack, Edward could be seen juggling three of his marble-sized metal balls in his right hand. Using two to create a dense double thick shield, Edward blocks a fire jet attack from the Wyvern student before using the remaining ball to bounce it at the feet of the Golem student, the impact causing a pillar of rock to rise and smash up into the student. The resulting blow throws him backwards and unconscious. Turning his attention to the Wyvern student, he jumps away as the other three have finished preparations for their joint effort. Merging his shield with another two metal balls in his pouch, Edward creates a sizeable cover to hide behind while the two Hydra students assault him with dual hydro pumps. Stepping back from their water attack, the Valkyrie unleashes her lightning strike on the now wet metal cover and surrounding ground.

"Checkmate, sorry Edward." The female student smiles.

Suddenly, the two Hydra students are struck with metal balls which draw pillars of earth towards them, striking and pushing them back into each other. Looking confused, the Valkyrie student glances towards them before she is struck by a large fire jet from behind which forces her into a suddenly raised earth pillar, knocking her out. Edward sighs deeply as he stretches his limbs while walking out of the arena. Twilight ends her spell and smiles slightly.

"That should do for today, thank you Edward." Master Roshi states with that same weird chuckle.

After the rest of the lesson passes Edward heads to the locker rooms with the other boys while Twilight waits outside, using magic to change her outfit. Opening his locker, Edward sees his phone vibrating and checks the caller id to see Alexander.

Answering the phone, Edward sounds concerned, "Where the hell are you? I get missing the first period but you missed M.D.E class."

"Eh... Long story, short version requires about two bottles of fruit punch, one camping site and some whisky..." Alexander states sighing.

"I'll bring the hard cider then." Edward hangs up before rolling his eyes and gets fully changed.

Leaving the sports centre the two begins to head towards their dorm.

"So, who called you?" Twilight asks randomly.

"I guess you could hear that from the door. Alexander was talking about two bottles of fruit punch, a campsite and some whisky. Basically what he was saying was two enemies, one secluded location and that they are strong. It's weird and random but it works for a code." Edward explains.

"Right... That is very weird but I can't judge. What's the hard cider for then?" Twilight asks raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, that's where I come in~" Edward smiles as Twilight looks even more confused.
