Two times. Two times beings calling themselves humans entered Equestria to cause great strife. The second almost leveled Ponyville to the ground. As the last one was banished to Tartarus, it was decided that Equestria needed help. It needed a protector. Thus, Twilight searched through many books to find a certain spell she once heard of. One that would bring the best guardian to Equestria.

Twilight and her friends gathered in a room in her castle. A rune was drawn on the floor. Twilight looked at the others, "Are you ready girls?" They nodded, "Remember, we have to make a good first impression."

They nodded again and Twilight lit her horn. She grunted and concentrated hard as the spell built. A ball of purple light appeared in the center of the rune and started to grow. Sparks hit the ground and Twilight gritted her teeth. Finally, the spell was formed. All that needed to be done was her to release it, which she did.

With a loud bang, the ball exploded. The girls staggered from the shock wave, and looked at what they summoned. They gasped in horror at what they saw.

It was another human. He fell to his knees and weakly looked up. His eyes widened at what he saw. Horses were gaping at him. The purple one, to his disbelief, spoke, "Girls! Rainbow Power! Now!"

The man decided he didn't want to find out what this Rainbow Power was, and decided to skedaddle as the horses started to glow. He rushed out of the room past them. He turned to the left and praised God that he found what looked like the front door. He burst out of the weird building, not looking back. He spied a forest in the distance and ran to it.

He was almost there when he heard something behind him. He looked back to see a rainbow beam heading for him. It reached him no time and his world turned white.

The Mane Six dropped to the ground, their powers fading. The gasped at what they saw. The human laid on the ground. That didn't shock them. What shocked them was he was still there and not in Tartarus. To their even greater surprise, the human got up and continued to run. Rainbow Dash sped towards him, but he was soon past the tree line of the Everfree Forest.

Rainbow cursed and flew back, "Sorry guys. Wasn't fast enough."

"It's alright, Rainbow," said Twilight, "I'll post some guards so he doesn't come back while we figure out what to do. You best go and warn your families. Don't tell anypony else; we don't want a panic."

They nodded and went their separate ways. Applejack sighed as she went home. Why didn't their powers work? She thought about this for a while before arriving at her farm. She rang the bell on the porch to signal everypony to come to the house. When they all arrived, Applejack sighed again as she told them what had happened.

They pondered this development at dinner, after which they went to bed early.

Applebloom trudged along to Featherweight's house the next day. They were dating for a month now, and Applebloom needed to talk to somepony. She knocked on Featherweight's door and was invited in. Featherweight looked at Applebloom once they reached his room, "What's wrong, 'bloom?"

Applebloom told him about the human. Featherweight gulped, "Th-the banishment didn't work?"

"That's th' thang that gets meh. The banishment spell's only supposed to work on bad guys, right?"

Featherweight immediately saw where Applebloom was coming from, "If he was a bad guy, the spell would've worked."

"Whut should we do?"

"...I think we should find him. I don't think the human's a bad guy."

"But whut if he is a bad guy and he's  jus' immune?"

"We should him just watch him first. If we find he's actually evil, we'll tell your sister where he is."

"A-alright. We'll look fer him. Jus' th' two of us. Ah don't want th' others ta get involved in this."

"Ah'm havin' second thoughts 'bout this," said Applebloom as she looked up at the treeline.

"If I was him, I'd be terrified. Which is why we need to find him."

Applebloom gulped but nodded. They set off into the forest, hoping to find a friend.
