Chapter 33: What He Saw

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

“No, Discord.”

Spike gave him a mad glare. The dragon was getting mad at Discord. He had a chance to get some real help and maybe some answers and he through it away. Spike knew Discord wasn't going be able to fix this unless he spoke to Luna, but it seem that Discord was stalling.

Discord looked at him, shocked. He thought Spike would go along with it. He went along with everything else. What changed?

“What?” Discord asked.

“I said no. We’re not going back. Not until you go to Princess Luna and tell her what’s going on.”

“What?!” Discord’s eyes pop out of head and fell to the floor. He picked them up and placed them back in his face.

“Yes. We can’t go on like this. YOU can’t go on like this. I got everything we needed to know and now we need to talk to her. Something is going on and she’s the only one who can tell us.”

“How do you know?” Discord questioned.

“'Cause she saw Silver Blitzs. That’s how I know.”

Discord looked down at the floor. ”I don’t know.”

Spike stomped his foot on the ground. ”Well I do. You can’t stop this until you talk to her, Okay?! It’s time.”

Discord sighed and groaned. ”Fine. Next time I talk to her, I’ll tell her.”

“Thank you.”

Of course, we all know what happens the next time he talked to Luna.

Discord left with even more questions. He now knew that Luna did see something, but also feared what it was. He had a feeling it wasn’t the same things he had been seeing.

He needed to get her to talk but she wouldn’t!. There was no way Luna would talk. He tried being forceful, tried being himself and even tried being nice. But it didn’t matter. Luna wouldn’t speak about anything and continued to lie to everypony, including herself. He actually felt bad for her. He wanted to help her but how could he? She wouldn't tell him.

But, he didn’t tell her either. Spike was right. They would get nowhere if they didn't speak to each other. They both knew that they needed to, so what was holding them back? Were they scared of telling each other? Why would they be?

Discord sighed. He knew what the problem was.The only thing that was holding him back was himself. He knew he had to get Luna to talk to him. If he was going to get Luna to talk, he had to talk to her first. In order to help Silver Blitzs and himself, the draconequus had to help Luna as well.

Back at the cemetery

I looked at them, shocked. "How much did you see?" I asked.

"Pretty much everything we needed to see," Spike answered.

My eyes widened. Discord and Spike looked at me. They clearly wanted me to explain what they saw. I covered my face. This couldn't be happening. Not now. I felt really embarrassed but also scared. Figures that Discord would come back and try to talk to me. I didn't know what to say. I didn't know what to do. I just looked and stared at them. I couldn't say anything. I couldn't tell them. How could I?

"Well, Luna? Care tell us?" Discord asked.

I just looked at him, speechless. What was I going to say?

"Well..I was...ummm..."

"You forgot how to talk or something?" Misty asked sarcastically.

I looked at her madly. "You're not helping."

"I never said I was," she laughed.

"I'm not doing this," I said as I started to trotting off.

Spike and Discord both looked at each other for a moment.

"Where do you think you're going?" Discord asked.

I kept on trotting. I didn't want to deal with them. This whole thing was just another waste of my time. At the moment, I just wanted to go back to the castle and try to forget this whole thing even happened. Discord and Spike went in front of me.

"Please don't leave. Luna we need to know," Spike begged.

"You can't keep hiding from this. From the truth," Discord added.

I said nothing as trotted around them and headed for the exit.

"And there she goes," Misty commented.

"Come on Luna! " Spike cried.

I said nothing to no one. I was used to that. I could hear Spike trying to convince me to stay but I kept going. A part of me was screaming, saying to tell them what was happening; but as always, I said nothing. I was at the entrance of the cemetery when Discord went back in front of me and put both arms on my shoulders.

"Luna, you might want to hear this. "

"I don't think so. "

I shook both his arms and trotted passed him; I was about to leave when Discord said something I wasn't prepared to hear.

"I saw it too. What you saw at the cemetery that one night, I saw it too. The creatures, the monsters, the fire...everything. When I fell off the cliff and climbed back up, I heard you screaming and I followed your cries. And then it happened. It was like for five seconds everything around me changed."

There were no words that could describe what I was thinking at that moment. It never came to me that Discord saw what I saw that night. I knew he was going through something, but I never thought of what. Now I realized, he saw and was most likely seeing what I was seeing. I just stared at him.

"You told my sister that you found me passed out. Why did you lie to her?"

He looked down to the ground. "It was the only way I knew for sure you were going to tell me the truth; I don't know everything that's been happening to you, but I know you've been facing something. So have I. For the last few weeks I've been seeing things that shouldn't be here anymore. And I believe that you know why, or at least what thing is doing this to me."

"You saw it?"

"Yes I did. If you think you're crazy, you're not. What you're seeing, what I'm seeing is all real. Either that or we're both just crazy."

"You saw it? That means you won't think I'm totally crazy. "

I could barely stand. My whole life I thought that I was crazy. Now, for the first time ever, someone knew what it felt like to be in my situation. Someone actually would believe me. It was almost too good to be true. But I wasn't sure if I could tell him everything.

"Like I said, either it's real or we're both crazy. Though, I wouldn't be too surprised with option two since it's us. So now that you know what I saw, will you please tell me what happened that night?"

I look down at the ground. I didn't realize how much I've been hurting Discord by not telling him anything. It was then that I realized I was hurting myself by not saying anything to anypony. I was trying to help them all, but I wasn't doing it because I wasn't saying anything. Maybe if I had spoken to him sooner, things would have been different.

A sigh escaped my lips. It was time to speak up.

"When you fell, I did wait for you. But after a while I thought you left, so I decided to leave. When I was about to take off I ran into this Griffin. She was nice at first but then got mad at me and what I saw was... indescribable. I have never been through or saw anything like it before. It was like a nightmare coming to life. And ever since then I keep seeing things, hearing things; I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do anything anymore. I don't know what to do anymore. I feel so alone. I feel so trapped."

Discord and Spike looked at me with compassionate eyes.

"Is she the one who broke your wing?" Discord asked.

I nodded. "She's the one who is doing this to us. She's the one who is behind all of this."

"Who is she? " Spike asked.

"My grandmother," Misty said. "You guys aren't the first to see her. I've heard countless of stories of ponies seeing a Griffin in this graveyard. She wants something, but I don't know what."

"We came here to try and reason with her, but all I got was the same: Nothing. All she told me was that she wanted the truth and wanted me to tell you what's been happening to me. That's who I was talking to," I said.

Discord nodded. It seemed that the puzzles were slowly coming together. It took a while but now it looked like that we could get somewhere now . We were both seeing things so we both knew what the other was going through. It felt nice to know that I could finally talk to someone that wouldnt't think I was crazy.

"So now what? " Spike asked.

"To be honest, I'm not sure," I answered.

I was trying to think of what we should do next when I started feeling light headed and took a few steps back, almost falling over. Discord managed catch me.

"Don't you pass out on me this time. I will leave your sorry ass here; I won't carry it this time," Discord joked.

I looked up at him very cruelly. "I'm not. I just felt a little dizzy is all. "

Misty looked at me suspiciously. "When was the last time you ate anything, girl?"

Discord put an arm around me and started to walk out of the cemetery with me by his side. Misty and Spike soon followed from behind.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I'm starving, you look like you could eat something, we all have had a hard couple of weeks. We all could use something to eat," Discord said. "Plus, it will be a perfect time for us to explain what the hell has been happening to all of us and think of a way on how to stop it. "

We all headed out to make our way back to Canterlot. For the first time since all of this started, I felt a little relieved. I felt a little better about myself. Maybe I wasn't as crazy as I thought. It was like I was given just a little bit of hope, a spark the shimmered inside of me. I wasn't completely alone in this; there was someone out there who could understand me. Even if it was just a little bit, it was better than what I had before .

For the first time in a while, I smiled. And it was a real smile.

Author's Notes:

I know. This took way too long to get to this point. I had a crazy couple of months. I hope this chapter was good enough. Now here we are and almost done and close to the end. More is yet to come. Once again, wasn't really edited. Please correct me where it's needed. Thanks.
