Chapter 31: Getting So Far

"Are you sure this is the place?" I asked Spike.
The three of us were in front of a late night bar. I was hoping that this so called psychic that Spike told me and Discord about could help us or at least help me. But I still felt unsure. Was this really all real or did I want it to be real? A part of me wished that Misty came with us but she wanted nothing to do with this psychic. She wouldn't say why, though. So we went without her. I looked up at the building. I was doubtful that this was the place that we were looking for. Not by the way Spike talked about him. Discord said nothing. It seem that he was just as confused as me. Spike looked at the building as if he was double checking. He was wearing a red bag around him but I didn't know what was inside of it.
"I was told it was the one with the red door," Spike answered. "I also know that Shredder does own a bar. This should be the place."
"Wait a second, Spike. You're telling me and Luna that this so called powerful psychic runs a bar?" Discord asked.
"Well, yeah."
"I don't believe this," I said, putting a hoof on my face.
"I'm starting to question your credibility here," Discord agreed.
"Look! You guys said wanted help. Well here it is. This is only person I can think that could help us. Let's get him a chance. I mean what more do we have to lose?" Spike said.
"I don't know Spike...how about our lives!!" Discord yelled.
"Well, what do you want?" Spike asked.
"I want to live," Discord answered.
"And he might be able to help us with that," Spike said as he crossed his arms.
Me and Discord looked at each other. A part of me thought this whole thing was a waste of time. How could this stranger be able to help me and Discord? I knew that what was happening wasn't natural but I still was having a hard time believing it was supernatural. I always believed that saying it supernatural was a cheap way of making yourself feel you weren't crazy. However, a part of me did want to see him. I mean, Spike was right. We did need help and we didn't have a lot of options left. A part of me did believe that Discord was right. Maybe what we were dealing with was something that was beyond life itself.
"Alright," I said. I looked at Discord.
He signed. "How do we know he will even want to talk to us?"
"He said he likes helping ponies. That's why he came here to begin with. I don't see why he would change his mind now. Especially with your stories, there's no way he will turn this down," Spike said. "Not to mention that he would be helping the Princess of the Night. That is like such a big deal. Who wouldn't want to help her?"
"He does got a point, Discord," I said.
He looked at me and Spike. It was clear to him that he was out numbered.
"Fine. But only because I want to be able to sleep again without seeing dead children in murderers houses."
"But I thought it was only one house?" Spike asked.
"It doesn't matter. I want to sleep!!!"
"Okay. Okay. Okay then. Give me moment. I'll see if he's here."
Spike ran into the building leaving me and Discord outside. There was a long moment of silence between the two of us. The last we were alone together, Discord was pinning me against the wall while we were screaming out each other. It was a weird moment for the both of us at that moment. We made little eye contact with each other. I waited for Discord to say something but no words came out of his mouth. We stood there waiting for Spike. I gave Discord a little peak. He gave a small smile and looked away from me. It was clear that we both wanted to say something but were too scared too. After about a minute, I finally gave myself the courage to speak.
"How long do you think he'll be?" I asked.
"I'm not for sure. Let's hope not too long," Discord said.
"Discord, look about what happen-"
"Don't, Luna," Discord said.
"Don't. Don't do what?" I asked.
"Don't apology," Discord said. "Don't say anything. It doesn't matter."
"It doesn't matter? It does matter," I said."This...this...this thing been effecting all of us."
"I don't want to talk about it."
"But we need to talk about it," I said.
"You didn't want to talk about then," Discord said as he crossed his arms."What changed?"
"Everything I guess."
"You guess?"
"Discord, I didn't know if I-"
"If you could what? Trust me?"
"It's not like that. I didn't tell Celestia anything. I didn't say anything to anypony!" I yelled.
"So? They didn't try to help you. But I did," Discord said, sadly. "But you through it away. You didn't want my help."
"I did want your help!! I wanted to tell you. It was killing me to not say anything!"
"So why didn't you? Why didn't you say something?" Discord asked.
"Cause I was scared. I didn't know if you would believe me. Like I said: Nopony ever believed me." I looked down at the ground."So it was hard to trust anyone. It had nothing to do with you. You just don't understand. A lot happened to me. More than you know."
Discord walked up to me and put his paw on my cheek. I looked up into his sweet, caring eyes.
"This isn't the first time this had happened to you? Isn't it?"
My eyes widened. He could figure me out so easily. I didn't know what to say. How much did he want to know? How much did he need to know? How much did I need to tell him? I looked down at the ground. I wasn't ready for this; all the emotions, the pain, the secrets. I had been trying to forget. To let go and never think of it again. But I couldn't. But yet, I never thought I would be able to tell anypony about that.
"Luna, help me understand. Tell me what happened."
I looked up into his eyes. They showed sadness and concern. He really did want to help me. A part of me did trust him. A part was scared. But I felt something different with Discord. He believed. He wanted to help me. He done more than anypony had ever done. I felt I could tell him everything at that moment. But how could I? I was still scared of what he may think of me. But I was tired of feeling like this. I was tired of feeling so alone. Discord knew how I felt. In a way, we were going through the same thing. We both wanted the same thing. Answers. We wanted to know what was going on. We didn't have a lot of friends to go too cause we feared the same thing. That they would think we were crazy. We needed each other. We had nopony else left for us to go to for help. Discord wanted help. He wanted answers. I guessed it was time to at least give him some. Even if that meant sharing a few things that I been wanting to forget.
"Where do I start?"
"The beginning."
I looked at him confused. "I told you that already."
He smirk at me."Nice try my dear. You know that's not what I mean."
I broke into a sweat. My heart pounded, and my hooves began to feel clammy against my bouncing knee. I began to pace back and forth. My stomach shifts uneasily and I notice that I was shaking. I felt a warm touch on my back. I turned around and saw Discord's paw on me.
"It's okay, Luna. Just tell me. I won't say anything to anyone else. Not even to Spike if that helps."
I gave a small smile and took a deep breath. "It's a long story," I said.
Discord laughed. "Where am I going to go, princess?"
I nodded. I knew it was time. I didn't need to tell him everything. Not now at least. But I could tell him how this started with me. I could tell him things that I been holding in for a very, very long time. I was done holding it in and letting my fears and worries get the better of me. I needed to trust him. I needed to let this all go.
"If you really want to know."
I took one finally big deep breath. I wasn't ready but I knew it was time. I was ready to speak.
"It started a long time ago when I was a filly. I lived in village. Far away from here. There was a woods that I could go into from my backyard. My parents never wanted my to go by myself. I always went with Celestia. But one day I went alone and I met a filly. She was alone and crying. I asked:"why are crying?" And she said that she was lost and wanted to go home and didn't know how to get out of the woods. So I helped her out. Got her out of there. I asked where did she lived an she took me to a house. She trotted inside and that was it. I never saw her after that. My parents find out that I went into the woods alone. They were mad. So I told them about the filly. I thought it would help me get out of trouble."
Discord stood there. Listening to every word I was saying.
"And what happened?"
"They were shocked."
"How come?"
"They asked me about the filly. I told them everything. What she looked like and everything. Word got out and everypony wanted to know if I was lying or not. The cops even talked to me about it. I didn't know what was wrong at first. I was very confused. Celestia then finally told me. The filly I saw in the woods went missing eight years before that. She was known to be dead."
Discord eyes widened at that. So far, so good. It didn't look like he thought I was crazy. So I continued.
"Many thought I made it up. Some thought that I saw somepony else. I don't think nopony really believed me. But I know what I saw." I sighed a little upset at that. Discord got close to me.
"Luna, what did you see?"
I knew what he wanted me to say. But I didn't want to say it.
"I don't know," I answered. "I know I saw her."
"I think you do know," Discord said.
"Maybe..." I said.
"You do," Discord said flatly.
"I don't know...something."
"Just say it, Luna," Discord angrily.
"Why?!" I yelled. "What will that do for you?!"
He scoffed and crossed his arms."Who said it was for me?"
We were back to awkward silence. For I didn't know what to say to that. I looked down and sighted. If I said it then it would mean I believed it. And I didn't know if I should.
"This won't get any easier if you keep lying to yourself. I think you know that."
It was all that Discord said to me. It hit me like a ton of bricks. But even then, I wasn't sure what to say next. I didn't want us to keep fighting about this. We needed to help each other not keep yelling. That wouldn't do any of us any good.
So I said this: "I know, Discord. I know."
Discord knew that was as much as he was going to get from me. So he nodded and stay quiet.
"Alright I'm back!!" We heard a voice yelled. We turned our heads and saw Spike running to us.
"I'm back."
"Okay, good," I said, trying to change the subject. "And?"
"Well, we have a problem," Spike said.
"He's not there?" I asked, disappointed. I got ready to turn around and leave.
"Oh no. He's in there all right," Spike said. "It's just that we can't see him."
"What?!" Discord and I shouted.
"Why not?" I asked madly.
"You see, there's two floors. An upper and lower floor. The upper floor is where the bar is at. Anypony can go in and out of there. The bottom floor, however, is where he's at. It's like a club down there. The problem is that it's members only," Spike said.
Discord turned to look at me."Can't you just order them to let us in?"
"Yeah, a princess in a bar? Let's see how that works for the media," I said, coldly.
Discord rolled his eyes to that. "Fine. Let's just use magic to get in," Discord suggested.
"That won't work," Spike said.
"What do you mean, Spike?" I asked.
"They have something down there. Something that messes with magic."
"I don't follow," I said.
"Remember that crystal or rock thing that Chrysalis had? Well, they have something like that too. I don't know what exactly, but they have something. And it messes with magic. They have it so nopony can just get sneak in," Spike said.
Discord and I looked at Spike shocked. We couldn't believe what we were hearing. This was joke, right? Nopony had anything like that. There was no way he could had been serious.
"Are they even allowed to do that?" Discord asked.
"No," I answered.
"Well actually, nopony said they couldn't. It's not like it's a law or anything," Spike defended. "Right? I mean it is just security."
I didn't answer. I just shook my head. This couldn't be happening.
"It's times like this when I really question my sister," I stated.
"I always question your sister," Discord said.
"So what now?' Spike asked.
I started trotting away from them. I only had one idea. It was wrong but I was desperate and at this point, I didn't care how I got it.
"We're just going to do what Discord would do. Trespass."
Spike looked shocked at me while Discord smiled at my answer.
"Hmm, I like her style already."
Discord and Spike soon followed me. We went to the back of the building. We were careful so no one could spot us. We saw a door on the back, which I assumed was a way to get inside to the lower floor. We stood there for a moment to see if there was anypony around. After about 5 minutes, we headed towards the door.
"Come. But be quiet. Don't make any sounds," I whispered. Discord and Spike nodded and followed from behind me.
"Wow, this is easy," Spike whisper, happily.
"Yeah, I know," Discord agreed."I thought there was going to be big tough pony bodyguards or something."
"I know, right?" Spike commented."I'm surprise more ponies don't sneak in."
"Can't you two just be quite?!" I snapped."You guys are going to get us caught."
"Relax, Luna. There's nopony back here," Discord said.
"I wouldn't say that now," A deep low strong voice from behind us said.
"Oh no. Busted," Spike said.
We all flinched as we slowly turned around to face who just spoke to us. Our eyes widened at the sight. It was a huge muscular dragon. His scales were black with sharp claws and 2 long horns. He was twice my size which only freak me out more. He looked at us with a firm glare as he cross his arms. He looked at us for a moment before snapping his fingers. Before I asked what he was going to do, a group of other dragons came out of nowhere and started surrounding us. Spike started shaking really badly as Discord backed up closer to me. I tried lighting up my horn but it wouldn't work. I guessed that Spike was right. They did have something. I was scared of what they might do to us but I putted on a brave face and tried not to show fear.
"Y-y-you were wrong, Discord. T-t-there's n-n-not ponies guarding. They're dragons," Spike said scarcely.
The dragons laughed at Spike's comment."Looks like we got some trespassers," He laughed.
"We're not trespassing. We're exploring," Discord said.
"Yes, that it. Exploring," Spike said.
"What should we do with them, boys?'' One of them asked.
"I say we have some fun with them," One of the dragon said.
"I like that idea."
"You know the rules. Let's Shredder deal with them. He's always knows what to do."
"Do we have too?" One whined."We never do anything fun here."
"Rules are rules."
Spike looked up at me."What do we do now?"
"I'm thinking," I said.
Discord stepped out from behind me."Wait, you wouldn't hurt Princess Luna here, right?"
My eyes widened when he said that. What was he trying to do? The dragons turned and looked at me. I started shaking but I manged to say calm. But before I could say anything Spike decided to go alone with what Discord's plan.
"Yeah, you wouldn't hurt her?" Spike stepped in. "You would get in some big trouble if you did that. You wouldn't want that, now, right?"
I guessed they did.
