Friendship Games: Bad Ending
Chapter 1: The Death of Twilight Sparkle
Load Full Story Next Chapter"Please Twilight, take my hand. Let me show you there's another way, just like someone once did for me." Daydream Shimmer said, holding out her hand to the now-fearful Midnight Sparkle. Midnight stretched out her arm, seemingly away to accept Daydream's hand, but then, she snapped back to herself, and violently grabbed her arm.
"Never! You were never there for me, and now I'm away to put an end to you!" Midnight flew up once more and charged another, albeit smaller, beam, aiming directly at Daydream's face, leaving a wound streaking across her cheek. "I won't stop until I obtain ALL the magic in that other world!"
Daydream wiped the blood from her cheek, and angrily glared at Midnight. "Well, don't say I never gave you a chance!" she yelled as she charged full force at Midnight, punching her directly in the chest, sending her reeling back in pain.
As Midnight began to recover, Daydream channelled all the energy she had into a large energy beam and aimed it at Midnight Sparkle. She screamed as the beam made impact, but Daydream stopped soon after when the scream took on a horrifyingly familiar tone of voice.
"Sunset...AGH!!!" Twilight screamed, as the beam faded away, and the young girl crashed to the ground.
As Daydream looked down, she could feel her heart stop. She reverted back to Sunset Shimmer and rushed over to Twilight's broken body, holding it as though she were cradling a baby.
"Twilight...Twilight I'm sorry! Please forgive me, I never meant to!" Sunset cried out, tears streaming down her face. Twilight weakly opened her eyes, placing a hand on Sunset's wounded cheek.
"I-It's OK, S-Sunset," Twilight croaked, the life draining from her eyes, "It wasn't....your....fault..." Twilight's eyes closed for good, and her body went limp. As heart-breaking as it was, Sunset had to face the facts. Twilight Sparkle was now dead, and she had to live with the burden of knowing, she had to put Twilight down.
Sunset lightly kissed the dead Twilight's forehead, and spoke "Rest now, Twilight. You're free, and you can understand all the magic you want." Sunset broke down into tears as Twilight's limp body was carried out of her arms.
Mourning
A week had passed since Twilight's memorial service, and two days had passed since the girl's birthday. CHS would take a minute's silence in memory of Twilight, and a small grave next to the portal to Equestria was where she lay, as this was where she had first crossed eyes with Sunset. Crystal Prep ended up taking a bigger hit. The Shadowbolts all grieved Twilight's loss, and they all decided to join the science groups that Twilight enjoyed. Principal Cinch was arrested on accounts of student blackmail and neglect due to her actions at the Friendship Games. Shining Armour, Twilight's brother, suffered tremendously and had left Twilight's room the exact way in which she had left it. Cadence, Twilight's sister-in-law, helped Shining Armour through the tough times, and would always make sure Twilight's final resting place was as fresh as it could be. Spike, Twilight's dog, went into the care of Fluttershy as he couldn't cope living in the house anymore, and the fact that he could talk freaked Shining Armour out.
However, it appeared as though Sunset Shimmer suffered the most out of anybody.
Sunset often stayed on her own, never happy, no matter how much her friends tried. She just couldn't get the memories out of her head, the ones with Twilight. She had written to Princess Twilight about the event, and she got a reply, which read:
"Dear Sunset, I am truly sorry to hear this news. I understand how upsetting this must be for you, and I will try to come around when I can, but that may be a while. Being a princess is hard work, but trying to make the time for those who need it is even harder. I know how you may feel like you can't go through this, but Pinkie Pie and the others will always be there for you. They don't blame you for what happened, and they can help you. Until next time, Princess Twilight Sparkle."
Sunset Shimmer got up, allowing the smallest sign of a smile to cross her face, the first sign she might be moving on, and walked over to her friends, who were beckoning for her.
The Dark Alternative
ONE MONTH LATER
Sunset Shimmer's state of mind continued to deteriorate over the past month. Friends and teachers alike have noticed a drop in work ethic, a negative attitude toward those who offer assistance, and of course the fact that she was constantly in tears. Most of the school body decided it would be in their best interest to move on, as they believed that Twilight wouldn't have wanted everybody upset. Her friends at CHS decided to keep her memory alive, playing songs they were told she liked and also attending her favourite science clubs. Sunset, however, spent most of her time mourning Twilight's death, rather than simply keeping the girl in memory.
She had visited several therapists, none of which could successfully help her. Her state of mind had gone to a point where she informed Princess Twilight that she was "done with it all", which brought great concern to the pony princess. Sunset, as rumours had it, had been contemplating suicide for quite some time now, and it seemed as though the rumours were about as true as a snakebite.
19:50PM, SUNSET'S BEDROOM
Sunset Shimmer finished writing her note down, and prepared the rope she had hung from the roof. She had tried to move on, tried to forget about her, but she simply couldn't live a life without Twilight Sparkle. She wrapped the noose around her neck, crying her eyes out as she did.
"I'm sorry everybody. I'm coming, Twilight!" Sunset cried out as she leapt from her bed, going limp with her feet inches away from the ground. She had ended her life, and joined Twilight Sparkle in the afterlife, where they could be with each other forever.
