What in the world?

IT had been fifty years, since Alexander had last wandered the halls of his Ark Space station. Yet to his genuine surprise and relief, it didn't look a day older to him. Not even speck of dust or faulty wire existed on his craft as he smiles walking about. His every boot step echoing familiarly. HE remembered when he used to be depressed by the solitude of the sound, but now, it was a wonderful noise. Alex was alone, and it felt great. He smiles as he finds himself in the Central hub station looking around at all the door ways he had closed down, portals he had closed in worry for any power troubles.. sitting in his great command chair he spins in it happily, flicking switches as all of his systems came online. Watching all the screens come to life he leans back relaxing in the glow and hum of his many monitors, closing his eyes to rest as they powered on.

"Ah its good to be back here again.." he mumbles drifting towards sleep... Well he WAS drifting until the Alarms went off. The sudden massive claxon of alarm bells utterly startled him as he fell out of his chair.

"ALERT! ALERT! NEW WORLD APPROACHING! NEW CONTACT NEW CONTACT NEW CONTACT NEW CONTA-" Alex groans n both irritation and in nostalgia, hearing alarms and alerts he had not had the pleasure to listen to in years shaking his head as he hits a switch to shut off the alarm.

"Computer. I hear you, Nice to see you by the way.." Alex says with a hint of irritation and genuine surprise. "I hear we have a new arrival.. pleased forward any information we have on it to my screens." Turning he watches, ready for the info dump, bracing for technological backlash.. as he sees... A picture of a planet, with a sun and a moon.. and nothing else. "Uh Computer? Yeah its me.. where is my data?"

"Greetings Alexander.. affirmative All collected Data displayed." the computer replies.

Alex chuckles "really? I only see one picture."

"Correct. Data collection and analysis was Ineffective."

That got Him confused. "Wait.. ineffective? How is that possible?"

"Affirmative. No scans were completed. Planetary object is immune to all scans. However, visual reports do have something to show you. Engaging Video feed."

Alex blinks and turn watchign the planet.. stay.. utterly still. "you can play the video.."

"We are sir. Look at the celestial objects.. look as we speed things up." The computer instructed as the screen came lower and he moved closer.. he watched as.. the Smaller sun, and moon. revolved around the..

"wait.. so The sun and moon are revolving.. on slightly tilted axis.. around the planet? how is that possible?" Alex asks looking at what by all rights shoudl be COMPLETELY impossible. A small star, and a lunar body. revolving.. a Non moving planet? "This.. it.. does not make any sense."

"Perhaps it may.. You asked for scans of the planet, here are the scans Around the planet." Alex watched as files popped up, reading one he blinks.

"If I am reading this right.. we did have some success.. but not the correct types. the over all report shows a field of Magical based energy that Connects and pulls the sun and moon, as well as covering the planet in the field. according to this you had sent probes, and then retrieved them, only to find they had..."

"Shut off on entry. Not fried, just turned off. We discovered their trajectory and found the magical Teleportation field Does in fact still work." the computer replies. "My estimation is that the magical barrier cancels out electronic fields, radio waves and other forms of non magical energy. Recommended option is... well I'm sure you can figure that one out."

"Plan a. If ya don't know what it is from a distance, go take a look at it." He nods. "Well.. Back to the job.. lets Check out the new world!" Smiling he watches as his chair ejects a small metalic object. With a small screen that showed a radar and map of the area. "Ah mini map. good to have you again." he says following the map down a new set of created hall ways.. pictures and decorations blank, but they would fill in after Alex explored for a while. As he gained Data the hall would match the world, just as the other halls did.

Ark was a station on its own reality, actually it was in Nowhere reality(Dimension note: if anyone wants ot know more about Nowhere Reality, leave a message or a question and ill answer as best I can ^_^) now.. A dimension powered by another super mage Alex knew by the name of Zachary who ran the world that was technically below Nowhere. Alex smirks sending Zach a message about the new world, and asking for inquires on new life forms.. Not too steps later Zach replied that business was slow, and that nothing really new had arrived. The only unusual thing Zach had seen lately had been more horses, unicorns, and pegasi out in his grounds, but none of them seemed to act very strange so he left them alone. (Character Note: Zach is gifted with animal speaking ability, so hes used to hearing animals like horses talk. ERGO he does not notice anything unusual about talking horses.. since he hears everything in his own native language anyway.) Alex blinks at the info, saves the message and begins to get ready for his trip.

Not knowing anything about the world, and obviously about its magical forces, Alex wanted to be ready for anything. He grabbed his old Tome of knowledge based on all of the magical info he had heard or learned all over the place, as well as the special lessons in magic that seemed to carry over to multiple worlds. He took a few moments skimming through it and taking a couple last notes. His book Creating new pages as he wrote down everything he knew about this new planet. 'Easy teleportational retreat. Does not Revolve, magical forces control Sun and Moon. Suggested reading is that rotation of sun and moon create a similar Cycle of time to Earth and Mobius. 24-26 hour day estimated, with 4-5 possible "seasons". Since the Sun and Moon are controlled by magic I feel its safe to assume magic exists in this world, but nothing is known about its laws or force needed to cast spells.' Alex smiles at his simplified notes as he places his Mini Map and book into his dimensional pocket bags. [Note: EXPLAINED HAMMER SPACE FTW!} Watching the Gate door open up again, the usual Question mark appearing above the gate.. looking into the gate he gazed at the planet shown... as he takes his first steps into this new world. Feeling the familiar pull of magically enhanced gravity as he gazes upwards, soon replaced by the familiar sight of Planet ground rushing to meet his head. Alex closes his eyes and sighs as he slams head first into yet another new planet. Though as he falls unconscious.. he begins feeling his body changing as a set of voices seem to float towards him.

"What in the hay was that?" some sort of Southern accent spoke out

"A shooting star? I love shooting stars!" The voice of a hyper active young woman rang out..

"It looked more like something falling.." A more serious woman's voice. Perhaps the voice of reason?

"Omigosh! it WAS some One falling!" The voice of someone gentle... As My hearing faded out as my sight had done already... "Quickly... uh whos home is closest?"

huh so now im a horse?

[Im typing all of my stories so far on Note pad.. since MSWORD seems to be arguing and my net keeps on randomly dying X_X I tried typing this chapter earlier, and it went by a bit differently this time, as I tried to think based on what I know of the characters.. Again if anyone wants to proof read and help out let me know ^^ id be happy with all the help I can get. Thanks for reading ^_^.]

Alex sighs as he feels his senses returning.. Mentally blinking he begins to hear voices as his hearing is first to return..
"Ah don't think that such a good idea Twi..." The southern Voiced being seemed to be saying..
"Hey you all want to know who this guy is right? Or more importantly, what he is.. You all saw it, he transformed, Right in front of us!" The voice of reason was acting all excited.. "At-least let me look at the book." And it sounded like she found his magic journal too...
"Oh come on and read it already! Lets find this stuff out! I want to know how any pony could fall from that high and NOT be killed." This was a new voice.. one who sounded cocky... but sure of herself.
"Twilight.. Applejack is right.. its not polite to look at other ponies things.." The gentle voice says.. Bright light was now visible to him, but Alex kept his eyes closed.. listening to the group.

"But Fluttershy! HE came from the sky! What if hes an alien or a SPACE PONY!" Ah so there was the over hyper voice.. "What if he is part of a scouting mission for our planet! come to abduct us and make us do tests! Or... Maybe hes a time traveling pony comet o warn us of the Future!"

"Pinkie.. that's sounds really farfetched.." Twilight seems to reply as the sound of his book opening comes to his mind. "Hmm... interesting... or maybe its not so farfetched.. The last written page has info on our planet.. judging from these notes... he must have been watching our world for a while."
Alex blinks at that.. "A while? I only watched a screen for like 5 minutes most of that was my computer."
"MEEEP!" The gentle voice went as Alex looks at the.. horses? He blinks as vision fully returns, seeing a pink unicorn levitating his book in mid air.. a shivering yellow pegasus hid behind a rainbow colored pegasus as two other ponies..one pink and one with a cow boy hat moved over.
"I'm sorry if I scared any one.." Alex says unable to help chuckling.. looking at himself he saw he also had hooves.. "Uh is there a mirror I can use?"
"You.. who are you? No What are you?" Twilight the purple says walking over.
"Short answer or the long one?" Alex asks with a raised eye brow.
"How did you survive a fall like that! If any other pony fell that far down they would be dead!" the rainbow colored one asks flying above.
"Wow Settle down Rainbow.. its not that big a-" Alex starts but is cut off by a glaring pegasus.
"How did you know my name?" She asks suspiciously..
"I didn't it was an observation based on your hair. No.. wait... mane?.... mane.. that's the word right?" Alex asks looking over at twilight, who nods. "Thought so yeah.. I think your called Twilight right?"

"And how did you know that?" Rainbow continues attempting to be threatening for some reason.
"Well you guys.. or gals.. where not exactly quiet.. judging by voices.. Im going to guess.. Thats twilight.. The pink one is pinkie.. the hat wearing one is Applejack.. the scared shivering one is Fluttershy, and your Rainbow." Alex says nodding to them all as they react as he nails each name. "Though thankfully the names have obvious owners.." Alex smirks as Rainbow sighs as sits next to Fluttershy who slowly stands up..
"Are you ok mister space pony?" She asks walking over.
Alex nods. "Yes, sorry if I worried anyone, that's just how I enter new planets.. head first. Though you don't need to be so scared.. its not like im.. how was it put.. scouting you for my kind and taking you all to the mother ship." Alex says with a teasing tone. Pinkie gasps as the joking tone is lost on her and she begins to babble randomly. "Im kidding relax.. it was a joke.." he replies trying to not cause any heart attacks.

"Just tell us who you are please.." Twilight asks again looking a bit exasperated over the pink ones antics.

"Alright. My name is Alexander Renard. Not exactly a space pony.. well actually now I guess I am.. since my form seems to be equine.. but anyway. I'm actually a dimensional traveler.. I explore places and worlds that appear near by my base. You guys just.. happened to appear. I am on vacation so I decided to spend it exploring." Alex says nodding. "That book your holding, miss Twilight, is my random notes journal I use it to jot down notes on magic and things I find and learn on my travels."

The purples eyes seem to light up as the word magic is voiced. "Magic? You know magic?"
Alex raises an eyebrow at the change in personality. "In most worlds.. I just need to learn the magical laws first.. not every world looks kindly on accidental fire balls."
Alexander says chuckling as the purple pony flips randomly through the book before getting a confused look.
"Chants.. Chakra, aura, Chi, Mana, what is all of this?" She asks looking up as he blinks.
"Magical knowledge in other worlds. Some places use words in magic, others have specific magic for specific energies. I need to learn what works here before I can do much of anything." Alex says nodding. "I need to find out how much pressure is needed.. what type of spell comes easily, and what doesn't work at all."
Twilight nods seeming to understand before burying her nose back in the book.. now that the questioning period seemed to have ended Alex took a look around.. the last of his senses.. smell picked up the scents of Wood, nature, apples, and various animals as well. Raising up his hoof he examines it and waves it around, wondering how the rest of him looked as he attempts to get out of the bed.. Twisting as he lands Cat style on the floor.. "Yeah.. four legs.. that's gonna take some getting used to..." he murmurs to himself as he felt most eyes on him still as he wanders about. The large room had hundreds of books lined up.. all around.. if he had to guess this would probably be Twilights house. Further examination also showed small markings on the ponies around.. though whatever they where for was unknown still. Looking at himself he saw nothing.. but wasn't that surprised.. its not like he was a native after all. Alex continues to explore, finally finding a mirror and looking at himself. His trademark red hair had become his mane.. thought darker red hair seemed to extend off his head and along his spinal column. the most interesting feature was the long horn on his head. "Alright.. so now.. im a horse. A unicorn.. Definitely something new that's for sure." He turns to see twilight setting down the book as he walks back over. "So.. where exactly.. am I anyway?"

"Our planet has no name. but at the moment we are in the Town of Ponyville in the land of Equestria. This is Twilights house." Fluttershy responds softly.
"Ruled by the Princesses Celestia and Luna. Who are the ones who raise the Sun and the Moon." Twilight finishes looking over.
"Your rulers control the movements of the Sun and the moon? Talk about power.." Alex says impressed. "So..miss Sparkly horn... what else can you tell me about this world?"

An old face and a familier plot problem.

The Rest of the day passed as Alexander Sat with the ponies, asking hundreds of questions about the world. He learned about the 4 types of ponies, their places in society, got some small magic lessons from Twilight, explored the town with Fluttershy and Pinkie, everything was going well. A lot had been learned about the world, and he was eager to learn even more. Specifically about a certain forest. The Everfree one to be exactly, gazing over he was intrigued by its mysteries.. he always loved forests, especially ones full of massive deadly beings. Thought the panicked ponies relaxed when he said he'd not explore until he figured out his magical info. Walking about he explored the entire town, met most everyone, and even figured out the jobs of the group of friends. (as well as their full names) Alexander smiles sitting down with a small stack of books.. reading more about magic of course.. as he thought of multiple experiments. Smiling as he lay down on the guest bed Twilight had lent him, he falls asleep.

His dream was not natural.. nor what he expected at all.. He found himself on a cliff over looking castle ruins.. A forest surrounded him as he stood alone. Looking about for something.. thought he wasn't quite sure what exactly as he gazed about. Nodding to himself, he followed his curiosity as he hops off his ledge and made his way towards the castle ruins. Smiling almost ear to ear as he listens to all the animals and sounds about him. All the happy and relaxed animals.. as he walked past. It wasn't until he reached the castle that he noticed something felt wrong.. slowly stepping inside he follows the many halls.. sensing eyes or something above and around him. Closing his eyes, he frowns as he felt an aura... one he hadn't felt in a long time.. walking up a long path of stairs he found himself in a room Twilight had described. This room had once held the Elements of harmony.. but he saw another stair well. "That's.. not in any of the pictures.. Something is not right at all here.."

"Perceptive as always... aren't you?" The voice calls from above.. Alex frowns going up the steps as he faces his double. His daemon half sat on a floating bench.. in a fox like form.. Looking the picture of justice in his light blue fur and black inner fur. A literal inversion of Alexander's red and white. "Its been so long since we have talked.."

"Not long enough from what I can tell. Is this your idea of a game? I don't suppose your actually going to tell me what you want this time." Alexander replies sitting down.

"I want to talk. You have been ignoring me for a long time now, relax, you know I have no interest in the World of Life any more. In honesty.. I came to warn you." Daemon Alexander says hopping down. "I sensed a massive force of darkness surrounding those pals of yours. My precognition tells me this place is related."

"You just expect me to believe that? You where a pain in my azz for centuries. D. Forgive me if im not Immediately trusting. The last time you tried to help I ended up swinging upside down naked on a chandelier surrounded by Undead." Alex replies dryly.

"Oh like your upset over that. We are immortal, Immune to that whole thing. My goal was to avoid the explosion above.. a small group of undead is no matter. You forget I share your pain. Last thing I want to do is sit on my butt feeling YOU rebuild your sorry self from scratch." D-Alex snaps. "I have plots and plans to make and Sensing your pain does not help my mechanics."

"Oh well forgive me for interrupting YOUR evil scheming.. im not the one who got us linked. Jack wagon." Alex replies chuckling.
"Jack wagon?" D-Alex says blinking.
"Look its a censorship spell. Now leave he fourth wall alone already. Anyway on to more important things.."

"OH NOW he wants to listen..." D retorts dramatically.
"Just tell me why you called me here of all places." Alex sighs exasperated by his Evil double.
"Yeah yeah yeah.. hold your horses. nyehehe.. see what I did there?" D-Alex crows happily to the eye rolling Alex. "OH fine.. your no fun today.. anyway I sensed a dark force around your pals. Probably related to those cheesy Elements of Harmony things. Im guessing based on plot convenience that its related to whatever Slammed that Luna chick."
"Filly.. if your gonna be insulting use the right terms." Alex says smirking.
"Oh Bugger to you. I didn't take the 50 questions lesson on Equines.. Knowing our luck in everything its probably out for revenge and yadda yadda. Look just get ready to punch out Cthulhu again ok?" D-Alex finishes looking a bit annoyed.

"Man.. whats with you and Tropes today?" Alex asks as D shrugs. "Alright.. so do you think I should head over here then?"
"Honestly id start finding a way to practice your magic. You feel the air around... it has basically all the different forms of energy you have used previously for magic. Just make sure you don't Dragon slave the town alright?" D-smiles. "Oh and try to stop staring at equine rear ends.. Save the shipping saga for later ok? Focus on getting your hooves on the ground."

"Pff you act like I try to ravage every woman I get attracted to..." Alex says.. blinking as images flow into his mind. "OK OK I get the point. Just stop with that alright?"

"Really..no fun at all. Oh one last thing before I leave." D says standing up.
"Oh done so soon? alright.. What is it?"

"Pony about to fall off bed says what?"
"What? OH FU-"

Alex sighs as he picks himself off the floor.. the night time had become Day, and for once he felt surprisingly rested. Despite D.. or maybe because of D. Thinking back to what had been said he slowly stretches.. looking at the chapter on the book he had stopped on. Looking at the article on Nightmare Moon. "It would be so nice to have a dream like that and just have it be a dream." replacing the book mark he puts the book down as he smells random food predominantly the scent of Bacon got his attention most as he wanders towards the kitchen.

(extra idea)

(I was working on ideas and thinking of how I want the next chapter of my story to work when this set of ideas came to mind. Im not sure if I shoudl use this as the next part of the story, or if it should be a separate one all together. This saga is one that goes along with the other story, but has very obvious RPG elements. Multiple references to various video games of the past, from the perspective of a video game player. This characters parts will also be done in the First person, as the character is the Author AKA...myself. The story takes place during what I plan to have in chapter 4 of Alex's adventure. As the Mane 6 head towards the resting place of the Elements of Harmony....)

'Well this isn't right...' was my first thought as I opened my eyes.. and instead of seeing my usual white ceiling.. I saw blue skies and tree line. 'oh dammit. let me guess.. dream within a dream? no something.. didn't feel like that.' Looking about I saw the massive evidence to support both the dream, and not a dream theory. For one thing, I as surrounded by a forest.. and.. I live in Nevada. It also wasn't that cold, which is what is supposed to happen during Michigan winter. No, it was warm..like spring or early fall. None of which felt possible.. however.. I felt things that only hit in reality. I was exhausted.. fairly stinky, hungry, and still wore glasses. In fact the only thing missing was my Lazy beard. Slowly getting to my feet, I looked at my clothes. My night time clothes where gone, replaced by a Green tunic that seemed ripped out of Legend of Zelda. At my side was a small light bag.. that had way too many items in it.. as I searched through.. What I found was a real shocker.. and more evidence to my dream theory. The bag was full of Video game items. Some basic things like Potions, Ropes, and some food items that I happily chewed on. The rest whee also ripped out of video games.. The Rod of Seasons, flute of Zaldus, ocarina of time, a Mirror shield, pokeballs, two strange decks of cards, (one with A bunch of monsters and the other with Items, spells, traps, and other misc things.) an odd GPS unit like thing, multiple forms of Bullet ammo, and 9 other color of tunic. (Plus 5 sets of the other types of clothing.) Putting all of the things away, I poked at my GPS item.. which ad a full list of things, as well as info on the Cards and pokemon. I had 8 lvl 50 pokemon (the many forms of eevee but Vulpix instead of flareon.), multiple Summon Monsters, and Summon Effects. Looked like I had one deck for summoning helpers, the other for special abilities. To make me feel even more over powered I read that the beads I wore would summon weapons, as well as a List of Dozens of magic spells. (thought according to read outs the only ones I could use at the moment where Lower spells and healing magic.) After spending about an hour or so checking out my random items.. and eating some food.. I smiled as my GPS map system actually turned on.. giving me a display of Radar and a mini map much like you would see in 2d Metroid games. Once I felt fully rested, I got to my feet and walked around. The insane armory of video game tools made me positive I was dreaming. "With all this stuff.. going by RPG lore im either gonna lose it all.. or this is gonna be REALLY hard." With the impassible almost ring of trees around me, I only had one direction open to me.. so with a shrug I decided to play along and walk down the path. Music from the GPS began playing as forest like music made me chuckle.

After a few minutes of walking down the fairly linear path of the forest, I found myself getting less and less light.. the tress got denser as light faded... and ominous music began to play. I smile partially as the pat sudden branches out.. My urge to explore was answered as I summon one of my favorite game weapons.. the Flowens sword, and walked into the dark depths.. the light of the blade guiding my way. Soon all light but that of my blade faded out. Taking little thought I pulled my GPS unit, and used its help to conjure up a ball of light, the ball reflecting off the Flowen gave me plenty to see my path as my first adversary appeared. Gazing up I saw a sight that was fairly puzzling. A manticore stood before me, eyes glowing red as it glared. The scorpion tail swinging side to side as It watched me. I recognized this one, but something felt wrong.. For instance, why was my first opponent something as tough as this? The presence of the beast seemed to match the forest oddly enough, but I kept thinking something was amiss. The roar of the monster drove my thoughts away as I looked up in time to see it charging me. Instinct took my body over as I stepped to the side and brought my blade down, seeming to cut it in half though no marks where left behind.. 'Does this type of weapon not work? Oh crap! how do you fight a manticore?' Similar such thought race as the beast picked itself up and looked confused. It turned to me and tilted its head looking around before rushing off. The only real change being how its eyes seemed normal now.. the red was gone. "I think.. I understand.. My blade did not cut it, only the evil forces within it? Don't tell me I have to find and hunt down something controlling monsters.. Still.. this all looks very familiar.." Crouching down to where the monster had been I found a small pile of a weird sort of coin. "This must be the money in this world.. better hang on to it." Taking out a small bag I slip the money in and stand up to continue on my way. "I know this place... I know my tools, but.. I dot know what going on. Im so glad I can talk to myself, and not have people looking at me like im psycho."

The exploration of the Forest stage was Slow going. Praise whatever deity people lived here for letting my have my Mini map GPS item. The forest was full of dead ends.. I ran across more manticores and Was more then ever set in my theory of Dark energy. I used other weapons to test, and everything seemed to have the same effect. After a few hours of exploration and a short snack break, I found myself in front of a large hut.. the forest had spread thinner, Giving me more room to walk as I saw a strange Zebra like being. I watched as I studied it and the last of the pieces fell into place. "Zecora?"

AS it heard its name, it turned to me... unfortunately I ad no idea what it was saying.. "Well that makes it a lot more complicated.. Now I know where I am. But.. I cant understand anything.." Though for some reason.. the Zebra seemed to understand me. As it blinked and rushed into its hut. Unsure of what was going on but having faith in the character I decide to sit down and wait.. I had only just started to relax when I heard the scream as a red eyed Zecora rushed out of the hut and Straight at me. Thankfully ADHD made it easy to bounce out of the way and onto my feet. I heard more voices coming closer as I back tracked, watching as the Zebra turned to face me.. "Now its even more complicated..." I mutter as I advanced.. Flowen sword in hand, it tried to head but me. Stepping to the side I swung with my blade, seeing Zecora flash and yelp in pain as my weapon cut through. "More dark energy.. means more attacks needed.. Im so glad your not a combat based pony..." I murmur out loud. Distracting the being long enough to position and Slash two more times.. After the third strike the light began to dim out, the red eyes turning softer as Voices got louder.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

THAT voice caught me of guard as I turn to see Alex and the mane Pony 6 glaring at me. "Alex? A little help here?" I ask before getting slammed in the side and launched.

"Why are you attacking their friend?" Alex questions glaring at me as I sigh.

"Look at her eyes dingbat. Shes possessed." I say simply as I hop to the side, glad Alex stopped the rainbow one from attacking me. Though the purple one seemed to begin charging up magic. "Son of a... Just.. STOP!" My blade suddenly glowed bright, startling everyone as I Slammed the Zebra with a critical strike. Watching as the red eye faded and I sat down. "THERE! Stop standing Alex and Make sure shes ok." I gazed over thinking of many differences.. the first was that wounds stayed until the red eye faded. Also purple energy seemed to leak out like blood until the battle ended. After a quick round of Telephone with Alex being my translator.. all was explained.

"So not only are the animals going nuts.. but this energy also can possess people? I mean.. ponies?" I ask sitting down. "You think its that energy D told you about?"

Alex nods. "Yeah.. though why your here I have no idea. In any case.. Zecora and twilight will look for a translation spell for you. though.. that GPS shoudl have done so."

I blink stupidly. 'the GPS.. of course.. DUH' I felt like a moron as sure enough.. it was translating Their speech. "Yeah.. this works.. though I cant talk back still."

"Hey I understood that." Twilight says looking over.

"Oh.. good. Yeah I feel like an idiot." I say again berating myself. "Anyway Before Zecora here.. I ran across a few manticore.. this means im in Everfree right?"

"How do you know so much?" Twilight asks confused as Alex nods.

"old castle ruins, the resting place of the Elements of harmony before the fall of Nightmare moon. So not only am I not in a game, im also In my own story." I say with a sigh.
"Sure looks like it mister author.." Alex says chuckling. "Oh Twilight. Meet Zachary, hes from another reality. One where you guys are all cartoons and stories. He knows a lot cause he watched the show."

"Cartoons?" Twilight asks blinking. "So were not real then hmm?"
"Your real here miss sparkle. Every story or work of fiction created in one world becomes a reality else where. The fact you were made means this world is real. Only in another dimension." I reply simply. "Though that doesn't explain why im here.. I fell asleep at home and woke up here.. nor does it explain all the items and weapons Im carrying."
"Id guess its cause of all the forms of magic around. It probably manifested in the form of multiple weapons for you. just as I can use all of my spells and powers here, theoretically." Alexander says simply as he shrugs. "anyway. Come on. Lets resume our trek to the Castle ruins."

Magic mastery and mission starting

"Thanks a lot for letting me stay here twilight. As well as for making breakfast.. " Alex says smiling as he sits down to eat. "Wow this is a hard form to adjust to.. it just occurred to me that this is only the first time I've become a hooved being."
"so then you take different forms often then?" She asks curiously as he nods. "Now I see why your learning so fast.."
"mhm Like I said, I have the power to adapt and change to fit my area.." Alex smiles chewing on his food. "Walking on four legs is normal, but I've always had fingers or pads. These hooves.. will take some adjusting to." he smiles noticing her levitating things. "Is that spell easy to use?"
Twilight blinks. "Its one of the basics of unicorn magic.. Illumination and levitation are the two basic spells.." she replies. "Oh right.. your not form around here..."
"Well it sounds like you and your friends have a lot of work to do, so maybe if you have a book or a place I can train I might be able to figure stuff out myself. Maybe even see which of my own spells work here." Alex says nodding as Twilight wanders off to another room. Alex leans slightly trying to see into the room from his position but only seeing flying books.
"Oh where is it... Spike? SPIKE! Oh where is he?" Twilight seems to call sounding irritated.
"dunno.. wasn't he just here?" Alex asks wondering where the small dragon had rushed off to. "wow hes an expert at stealth.."
"that's one way you could call it I guess... AH found it. Unicorn magic for dummies book 1." Alex's eyes widen in surprise. "Oh uh.. I don't mean to say YOUR a dummy its the book name and..I can look for a different one.."
"HAHA that's not what I'm surprised about.. its like the For dummies books really do exist everywhere.. thanks that will do perfectly well." Alex says smiling.. "they always did after all.." Alex murmurs to himself. Literally, almost any time something strange happened to him.. a 'for dummies' book would appear..
Twilight seems to sigh in relief glad she hadn't upset anyone. "Alright then... Lets find you a clearing.. after I help my friends ill see how your doing."

Alex nods following the purple unicorn outside..

[that evening.]

Alexander stood in the clearing charging up energy... he had found out that most of his magic works.. and while incantations where not needed they did in fact help still.. the interesting part to him so far as how to aim and fire his attacks. Many shot straight out of his horn tip but others, could form a wave if he swung his horn vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. "HADOKEN!" Swinging his head down he braced as he blasted the Aura force out of his horn.. fired straight like a Pistol. The blast impacted on a magical barrier with a satisfying explosion. "HAH! aimed perfectly that time. now lets do a harder one.. Shinku..."
"Wow.. what was that spell?" A voice asks behind.
"HADOYIPE!" Alex jumps and the spell goes WAY of course.. Slamming the ground as he jumped and launching him backwards.. Looking down he saw Twilight as he felt hooves grab him in mid air.
"WOW that was some serious.. air there... you should be more careful." Alex looks up at this voice and sees Rainbow Dash as she lowers them to the ground.
"Uh.. yea I meant to do that one.. later.. nice to know I CAN do the magic launcher.." Alex says sheepishly with a slight blush. "thanks for the save."
"Hey.. no problem.. so what was that beam thing anyway? I have never seen magic like that before.." Rainbow says as Twilight wanders over.
"One of the basic projectiles I learned on a fighting planet. The Hadoken. its a ball of compressed energy not very dangerous... oh and its great for practicing my aiming. the Shinku Hadoken was the beam I was trying to use. By Charging more energy, you turn the Ball into abeam of energy.. does a lot more damage and as you saw.. has one HECK of a kick." Alex explains. "With some testing I have found that many of my spells work.. just as D said in my dream... this world is full of many forms of magical energy.. my only real problem is that any hand motions must be done by horn.. and its a little harder to aim."
"Hand motions?" Twilight asks blinking.
"O yeah some worlds have special motions you need to make, and some have special phrases.. Like for instance one of my Favorite destruction spells of black magic. The Dragon Slave. Though I prefer to call it the Dragon Slayer." Alex says smiling.
"whoa... sounds powerful." Dash says smiling widely.
"It is.. and very dangerous... it has enough power to demolish an entire town." Alex says simply "it was made to defeat dragons.. the most powerful monsters in that world.. so of course the spell would be powerful. Strong enough to destroy mountains and cities."
"You have got to be over exaggerating.." Twilight reacts.. despite Alex's serious tone. "No pony has that much magic."
"Im not a pony... Twilight." Alex says darkly. "AHAHA don't worry though its not like I'm gonna try and BLOW UP pony ville.. I mean come on.. its not like I'm a crazy psychopathic mage person. Just because I have the power to blow up the planet doesn't mean im going to."
"blow up..the planet?" they both ask with wide eyes.
"Well yeah... I have lived for thousands of years as a hero.. I am confident in my control of magic, that's why I practice weaker spells.. to test and figure out what magic works best here."
"yeah that makes sense.." Twilight admits nodding.
"Ah now that I'm resting I am reminded of something.. I had a dream I wanted to ask you about miss Sparkle. In my dream I was talking to my Negative alter ego D-Alex. Who told me he was sensing strange Dark energy around the area.. he thinks its related to the Nightmare Moon event you told me about." Alex asks sitting down to rest.
"Uh how exactly does he know about that? IS he Spying on us?" Rainbow asks looking around.
"No he doesn't want to be near me because we always Fight.. and over the years that's gotten old.. No we are linked and share memories and such. What one of us knows, the other knows and can respond to. Its also how he sensed darkness around you guys as well.. by feeling the aura of my memories. Hes much more sensitive to DARK forces then I am. Going by his thoughts.. he is pretty sure the Dark energy that he felt is something I need to take care of.. we just wanted to know if its what affected Princess Luna." Alex responds nodding.
Twilight sits down to think about this. "Its possible.. After all We were able to purify and save the princess using the Elements of Harmony. But I was pretty sure we destroyed that energy.. Its worth taking another look thought. this guy is honest right? You called him you Negative self.. what if hes sending us on a goose chase?"
Alex chuckles "That was my first thought too.. but not only does he get enough sound from my mind.. the last thing he wants is to sense any pain I take while I heal form whatever wounds.." Alex smirks. "He likes to pretend I don't exist sometimes.. because of the headaches I can cause him." He gives a slight smile. "So when should we head out? D had pulled me to the Castle where the Elements of harmony where kept.. in that forest just as you had described it..."
"We need time to gather the others.. probably tomorrow." Twilight answers in thought. "We can talk to everyone tomorrow and then leave the next da-" A loud flash as a beam of light hits the Everfree forest. "So much for that.. looks like the time to go is now.."
Alex frowns.. "that energy.. I recognize that energy..."
[So do I... but its different..] D says in response..
Ignoring the looks of confusion Alex nods. "Yeah your right.. something is wrong with it.."
[I know you wanted to rest.. but the time to get going is now. Check out that energy.]
"And who are you to order me around? Back off.. that was what I intended." Alex murmurs with a sigh.
"intended? what do you mean?" Rainbow asks looking over. "and who are you talking to?"
"D. I cant talk Mentally so I'm talking out loud." Alex says nodding. "Just excuse me while my evil twin makes me look Crazy for a few moments."
[Hardy har har.. Just get going.] D retorts chuckling.
"Yeah yeah.. stop whining already." Alex looks over. "He wants us to run now. I say we gather Twilight's friends and head over after that."

[MAN this one took forever to work right in my head Sorry it took so long.. but yeah This chapter bridges the gap between the chapter before and Zach's chapter. As Zach explores, Twilight and Alex gather the others.. and they all meet up at Zecora's. Next chapter is the exact reaction to those events.. After Zach purifies Zecora.]

So what are you doing here?

(First person perspectives are done as my OC Zachary. )
I sat down fast, landing hard on the ground as the others rushed over to check on the zebra Zecora. Looking up I glanced at a red unicorn with a fairly wild mane. Appearance wise he looked like a copy of Dynasty Warriors horse Red Hair, only with a large horn and bright brown eyes.
“So… now that that’s over, why don’t you explain to me WHAT exactly you are doing here hmm?” He asks as he glared at me. The bright brown eyes looking like they where trying to rip truth right out of me. Not that id planned to lie or anything. He was not going to like the truth after all… Alex had been used to and around me long enough to know I always had some random gag or trick up my sleeve.
“Honestly? I have no idea. I fell asleep in my bed after typing and playing Castlevania games on my computer... Then I woke up here in the forest.” At first he had the same disbelieving look, until he noted my admission of playing videogames… That fact alone seemed to give me some credibility. “I at first thought I was dreaming up ideas for the story… But most of my dreams don’t have me exploring a forest for hours.” I look around at Twilight Sparkle and all of her pals as they talk to the confused waking zebra. “Tell me... am I really here?”

“Eeyup.” he says nodding as some of the group glares at me. “So, judging from that fight with Zecora, I’m guessing you already figured some stuff out eh?” Alex looks over as I nod. “Care to share your vast knowledge with us?”
“Yeah… the obvious is that Dark Energy has taken over the forest. In my exploration I ran across many Manticores and some weird, snake, chicken type monsters. As I fought them, my swords passed through, only affecting and cutting out negative energy. Judging from how confused they all looked after I freed them, I’d say it’s as if they are asleep. They have no memory of doing anything since they last awoke… I know Zecora from the TV show of this world… and she wasn’t acting right at all. Nor where the manticores, which were slow and only used claws instead of their fangs and scorpion tail.” I reply nodding. “Whatever is controlling them doesn’t seem to really know what it’s doing… Before you ask, ill point out that Nightmare Moon used Princess Luna’s magical power. If something was smart enough to know an Alicorn’s magic I would think they would know to use a poisonous tail or Stone Gaze.”

“Keep in mind Zach... that Luna had been on that moon a thousand years. The Dark energy might be a learning energy or an intelligent force. It might not know how to control things correctly yet. Twilight also mentioned that she thought the energy destroyed by the Elements of Harmony. This gives us two possibilities… 1. Is that the energy is still weak from the attack, and the other is..”

“That it’s not the same force… but a new one. Maybe caused by that Discord dragon thing.” I reply getting a surprised look.”
“I was thinking it might be DARK FORCE.” Alex replies blinking. “The evil controlling energy made by and controlled by the PROFOUND DARKNESS I fought many years ago. Remember how I finished it off?”

I think back and nod. “Yeah, same way as when you beat the Belmont. Tossed into another… dimension… that you...”
“Later wound up on… I hate to say it but its possible its OUR fault Nightmare Moon was made... what if all those years ago, THIS was the dimension DARK FORCE ended up on?” Alex asks in thought. “That would explain why it would come to ARK BASE. Dark force brought it over.
“Would also explain why the Elements of Harmony did so well… Special magic like the Elyseon sword and the Clahim Solais you used before.” I say in thought. “It’s a very logical possibility Alex… but lets see what other info we can find. Uh.. by the way… what are you doing here anyway?”
Alex nods. “We had planned to come over later on. Taking some time to plan when we saw a bright light hit the Everfree Forest when we arrived. Twilight and Fluttershy wanted to make sure Zecora was alright. You know the rest.”
“Knowing my ability for Flashy entrances in other worlds that light was probably me… how many hours ago was that?” I ask curiously as I was sudden aware of the ponies all listening in to our talk.
“A few, we had to run around town to finish the ponies work and chores before we could head here. I’d say about 4 maybe 5 hours estimated.” Twilight comments as Alex nods. “Was all that true? About Dark Force anyway?”
“It’s possible unfortunately. Alex you know it best so why don’t you describe Dark Force for them.” I suggest, leaning against a tree to rest my legs and limbs.

“Dark Force… Where to begin… “Alexander closes his eyes as he thinks. “Its a long story so lets get back some place comfortable.”

Dark Force, a negative energy created on the creation of life itself. A literal Manifestation of Negative Emotion. Existing only for destruction, its goal, being the ending of everything. Covering every part of the world, in Darkness, and Death. Normally this energy manifests and exists in all living beings. However in one place the energy actually became its own being. Its name was the Profound Darkness. An eternal darkness that constantly rose to attempt over and over to destroy the light. Never ending battle, death, and chaos that haunted the System. However, as powerful as the darkness was.. the forces of light where equal and focused, constantly using its defenders to bring peace to the world and push back the Dark Force. I myself ran across and confronted the Dark Force and After Years of constant battle, suffering, pain, and the loss of many of my closest friends, finally destroyed it for what I thought was good. Casting it’s presumed powerless remains into a portal to Suffer in the far reaches of Space. I thought it was over… it seems.. I was wrong..

Alexander closes his eyes.. Memories of the brutal battles haunting his memories and dreams even to this day still... “If… Zach is right… then all those years ago… Dark Force landed here… and began to grow again in power and strength. Eventually, magnifying the negative emotions, of your Princess Luna. As it grows strength.. it gains wisdom and information.”

“But... Princess Luna became Nightmare moon over a thousand years ago.. how can it be this Dark Force?” Twilight asks with wide eyes.
“Simple. At the speed of its approach... and the difference in hours and Days for our worlds. Time is relative, after all. 1000 years in one land is 50 or 2000 in another.” I pointed out. “Besides... Alex is far older than he seems…”
“That’s not important at all right now Zach. My age has no place in this. What we need to focus on is seeing if this negative energy really IS Dark Force or not…” Alex says trailing off in thought.
“Actually I disagree completely. Knowing your thousands of years old may help them understand WHY and how your so powerful now.. as well as how your as wise and foolish as you are.”

[And now to take a break from writing till some people comment. I have done a lot of typing and my fingers and brain kinda hurt ^^. I dunno how many of you guys will get the DARK FORCE references... but everything talked about has happened before in Rp. I really did role play out the Alex vs profound Darkness bit. So yes.. I just crossovered Phantasy Star with my little pony. didn't see that coming did ya? Or maybe the Flowen-sword gave you a clue? ^_^ This chapter I actually typed out in Microsoft word, since it actually worked for once. Not this little bit here.. yeah This is all spur of the moment Babble XD. Anyway, now that I got everything ready possibly defined the main evil. I can relax and let myself think. Enjoy the chapter.. it took a lot of work and thought.]

I am sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, I'm actually stuck in a sort of indecision. I'm trying to decide if I want the party to go to pony ville and have some random comedy scenes. Or, head to the abandoned castle in the Everfree. One thing I'm planning is a combat scene between Zach and Alex, for 'training' purposes. I'm getting plenty of ideas from reading a lot of other stories, just need to make this one simple (or not so simple) choice. If any of you have suggestions let me know.

Profound darkness and its plan.

[has some language, but that's all the character really.. anyway first person for the BAD guy this time ^_^ enjoy.]

"No..it cant be.. all my hard work.. all my effort to stay in the shadows... and That ONE POSSIBLE.. SNAG shows its ugly face AGAIN." My Black shadowy form flows about as it whirls around.. taking the general shape of a horse, not that I really cared at all. I was a bit too busy being angry to make myself look impressive. I had at one time been a feared goddess but now I felt like a cosmic joke. There was no reason for me to be failing! All of my plans are always fool proof and yet SOME band of LITTLE PEOPLE always manage to defeat me. The last plan had been perfect! I had possessed half of the most powerful duo in the world. The LUNAR Goddess herself! By using simple emotion.. I was always at my best with little seeds of doubt and darkness. I had been full of glee when my prized work.. that of NIGHTMARE MOON. An Alicorn who had grown far more powerful than her sister... merely because of her emotions.. So proud in fact that id messed up and Failed to resist that old stereotype. I monologued.. about how I would kill the sun goddess and cover the world in eternal night. Of course.. those thousand years on the moon had actually forwarded my plan most wonderfully. Not only did I get time to further my control.. but Celestia now had double the work.. as well as stories of fear being told.. which made me even more powerful. Then,, finally I had escaped.. when some STUPID KIDS beat me. Not with anything special.. no I got beaten by the power of FRIENDSHIP. Those damned elements of harmony.. I had hit my lowest of the low then.. beaten by some little brats... they didn't even have weapons, or magical swords.. no these were AVERAGE beings on this world too. Of course I had gotten even ANGRIER when I found out who they really where..
A farmer, a Veterinarian, a librarian, a weather control officer, a dress designer, and a BAKER. THAT'S IT! The only really interesting ones where the librarian, who was a pupil of Celestia that solar goddess, and the super sonic weather controller. The baker was slightly insane, but she and the farmer had no powers, and while the vet had incredible control and willpower, she was also a cowered when it came to anything non animal related. No children of destiny, no legendary reborn heroes, not even a soldier out for revenge.. just SIX little horses.
But that was ok.. I got over that.. by hovering around and spying id learned of how much fear they had in this Forest.. so a new plan began its wheels.. I was defeated when I was only one pony.. but what if I was in ALL of them? Maybe even those 6? Ah the thought of perfect vengeance against those six little ponies was sweet... So sweet I got mad when some DRAGON thing tried that very idea. Not only that, he BOTCHED IT! I admit.. I was glad to see that cocky villain get what he deserved.. that stupid fool. But now I saw a snag in the problem.. that Twilight pony was smart.. they also struggled against being apart. I also found you cant turn them against each other either.. So I changed up my plan somewhat.. the little 6 could wait, I'd use the forest instead.. Then with the forest under control id begin my take over.. I planned to use the Zebra as a part of a domino effect. First the Zebra, then that child who likes the zebra, then that child's friends.. and so on and so forth. Not full blown possession just.. infection. Like magical tracking fleas, no effects.. outside of a slightly louder whisper from your desires.

It was perfect... and then HE showed up. That man, with the glowing sword.. somehow cutting out the negative energy of the creatures. By appearing the Energy some how reacted to his presence.. and cause a strange Berserk state.. all because of his Holy weapon. That Flowen's Sword. Just like Flowen himself used before I took him over.. too bad he was also defeated, but at least by professionals. Not stupid brats. My energy remembered that sword.. and reacted accordingly. Now revealing my Biggest problem. As the Zebra fell I caught sight of a RED unicorn.. Alexander. I knew him the moment I saw him through the Zebra's eyes.. I had slight hope when those ponies thought of attacking the holy sword.. but the immortal stopped them. He told them he knew the man, and they listened to him. My plan had just begun.. and already THEY are here. Alex and the man who created him. Still..perhaps yet again this could be a blessing in disguise.. like the banishment.. Its possible they have already figured out who I am. But unlike most times.. I'm not going to just out right attack. Id have to fix my seeds, and restart my infection.. I must find out what reacted to the Flowen sword.. and nullify that affect.. Without the Berserk.. my plan would go fine. Thus I must wait and plan.. and experiment..

Every one knows how much I LOVE an experiment... heh ehe...
Hmm... I remember hearing them talk of that abandoned castle.. I think ill go pay them a visit..
