I'm very sorry for what all of you are about to read. I got brought to tears too many times doing this chapter. I hope everyone will be alright after this one.

With the jaws of death looming over their battered and thrashed bodies, it seemed like the Wonderbolts were going to be dealt the worst way to die. Indominus and the Immortal Phoenix had broken their newly enhanced bodies and killed three of them in the process. Now the end was truly in sight for the best flyers in Equestria, until they received some unexpected help.

"NO iNDOMINUS! YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" The hybrid looked up from his prey just as Rainbow Dash slammed right into his chest, causing the blast in his jaws to be released into the sky.

Rainbow pulled away as Indominus crashed into the runway, and watched as the detonation from the blast enveloped most of the sky. She realized that Indominus had put too much power into the attack, he had intended to do far more than just kill the Wonderbolts.

"Oh my Celestia, he wasn't just trying to kill them. That blast had enough power to destroy the Wonderbolts, the whole compound and the entire runway island. I have to stop him."

Rainbow stood in front of the beaten Wonderbolts, the only one keeping Indominus from wiping them out of existence. Spitfire was stunned as Rainbow transformed and bellowed to Indominus.

"INDOMINUS, STAND DOWN!!" Rainbow wasn't aware of it, but Indominus's anger had begun to cloud his mind once more.

Within his mind, Indominus was hearing his Devil saying wicked, dark things that were filling his head with more anger. The monster in his mind was pressing him to kill all the Wonderbolts, and was disillusioning the hybrid dinosaur that his own wife was another Wonderbolt that needed to die.

"You must kill them all Indominus. They hurt Rainbow Dash, they've hurt your family. Give into your rage, and spread their blood and organs all over the world. KILL THEM!!"

With the demon's voice pounding in his head and his rage getting stronger, Indominus angrily clawed at his face in frustration and roared wildly at everything around him. Rainbow was seeing firsthand what the rage Indominus had kept buried for so long was capable of doing to him.

"So this is what T-Rex and the raptors had to deal with," Rainbow said to herself. "Oh this is going to be one hell of a fight."

"Don't try to stand against that beast Crash, you'll only get yourself killed." Rainbow turned at the Wonderbolt pile after hearing Spitfire's weak response. She was barely able to get up, not surprising given how much Indominus had beat her into the ground.

"Oh now you decide to care? Just stay down Spitfire, unless you want to end up in a pile of blood and guts like the three dead Wonderbolts back on the ground." Spitfire reluctantly collapsed after Rainbow's response. "I'll stop Indominus myself, because I don't want him to kill anymore. I don't want to lose my husband or my so called heroes, despite how you and the others have treated me. That's why I'm doing this for you ponies, so just stay out of it and keep your mouth shut."

Rainbow glared at the rage blinded dinosaur engulfed by his golden flames. This fight was going to be a real challenge for Rainbow: she had to keep Indominus from killing the Wonderbolts, stop his rampage and change him back before the Immortal Phoenix could kill him. All while trying to avoid being killed by the one she loved in the process.

"Please Indominus, don't do this. You promised me that you wouldn't kill any of the Wonderbolts."

As soon as that word escaped her mouth, Indominus roared savagely and yelled. "THE WONDERBOLTS WILL DIE!!"

"Uh oh, shouldn't have said that." The fight began as Indominus charged towards Rainbow and the beaten Wonderbolts.

Rainbow exploded off the ground, met Indominus halfway to his victims and dealt him an uppercut to the jaw that sent him skyward. She flew past Indominus and looped back around to attack him again, but Indominus dealt a punch to her face as soon as Rainbow hit him. Both were sent in opposite directions from the force of each blow and wound up on a set of clouds. Rainbow shook off the blow and looked down on her husband, who was already getting back up and showing no signs of being fazed by the punch.

"Alright Rainbow Dash, if you're gonna even come close to living through this, you've gotta start thinking like your scaly husband." Rainbow might not have had as much strength as Indominus, but she did have one advantage: plenty of training sessions and knowing how her husband fought.

As Indominus charged back towards her, Rainbow tried to recall how Indominus normally started his attack. "Let's see, you usually start with the right claw first." Right on cue Rainbow could see Indominus raising his right hand to strike her. She lifted her left leg and blocked the blow, "then you go a bite." She ducked her head as Indominus tried to clamp down on her and jerked in back upwards and stunned the hybrid dinosaur. With a small window of opportunity, Rainbow gathered as much strength as she could and dealt a punch right to the dinosaur's gut.

Spitfire watched in amazement as Indominus began to sink to his knees from the force of the attack. Rainbow started charging up a blast in her mouth to knock Indominus out of the Immortal Phoenix, but Indominus forced her to use it too soon. The hybrid stopped himself from dropping to his knees and angrily fired a blast at Rainbow Dash, forcing her to use her own blast to avoid being overtaken the attack. The energies were so close when they collided that it created an explosion that engulfed both combatants.

"That was fast, how could he possibly stop that? Rainbow was right in his face," said Spitfire in shock after witnessing the explosion.

When the smoke cleared it was obvious that this fight was going to be a long one. Both Rainbow and Indominus were steaming from the explosion, but neither looked to be showing any signs of fatigue. Rainbow had the look of a predator in her eyes that matched the glowing savagery Indominus had in his. They were one in the same and it showed most when they fought, but this was a battle neither of them were going to win. Rainbow felt her breath stop when Indominus suddenly glanced back towards the pile of Wonderbolts, he was still intent on killing them, even while fighting his own wife.

He bolted off the clouds and headed back towards his fallen enemies. He was almost within reach when Rainbow blindsided him with a strong punch across the face. With speed being Rainbow's specialty, there was no way Indominus would be able to outrun her, even with the Immortal Phoenix. She would be fast enough to keep him from reaching the Wonderbolts at every turn.

"YOU'RE NOT GOING TO KILL THEM INDOMINUS! I SWEAR I'LL SAVE YOU AND TURN YOU BACK TO NORMAL IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!"

With one powerful strike, Rainbow hit Indominus with enough force to send him falling out of the sky and crashing into the dirt where the devastation had started. She followed after him, afraid of what the outcome of their battle would be. But she would not be heading back to the battlefield alone, Spitfire managed to get back onto her hooves and struggled to fly.

"She's held her own against that monster, and has done what none of us could do. I must see if Crash is able to best this monster, and if we're lucky, she can even kill him for us."

Back on the ground, the Mane five, CMC, dinosaurs and princesses were shocked to see Indominus crashing into the ground. But what shocked them most was how he actually seemed to be having trouble getting up from the impact.

"Ok, either the Immortal Phoenix is finally beginning to take a toll on him, or Rainbow is even stronger than we thought," said Twilight.

"Let's hope so Twilight," said Luna. "I don't know how much longer Indominus can sustain that form."

The others shook in fear when Rainbow landed and was glowing with her power. Scootaloo didn't like how Rainbow seemed so dead serious in front of Indominus, but the deranged red glow in the hybrid's eyes told her that they wouldn't stop until one of them gave out. It tore apart the Mane Five to see the lovers fighting each other, especially after they had seen them loving each other with such passion before.

The transformed lovers charged at each other and the fight resumed with Rainbow blocking Indominus's claws and smacking him across the head. The rage fueled hybrid barely had time to react before Rainbow laid a relentless assault of punches on him. Indominus struck back with great ferocity, keeping pace with Rainbow's attacks and pushing the pegasus to her limits. Both pegasus and dinosaur were taking the deadly blows from their power and the shock waves being sent out from the impacts were rocking the entire area. It certainly left Celestia and Luna speechless, seeing the devastating power that Rainbow and Indominus were releasing was beyond anything they had ever encountered.

"This makes Black Death's wrath on Equestria seem like a campfire, right Luna," said Celestia who was so afraid of the anger driven look in Indominus's eyes.

"Indeed sister, I-I can't even fathom the kind of power Indominus is using. Plus the fact that Rainbow Dash can actually keep pace with him and damage him in that form, is astounding."

"That's because Indominus spent so much time training her," said Scootaloo. The others looked at her in bewilderment.

"It's true," said Blue, confirming the suspicions. "During our first year of bonding before their marriage, Indominus took the time to train Rainbow so she could be a strong warrior like him. He taught her everything that he knew about fighting and she learned from sparring with him, including how to counter or match all his moves."

This left the Mane Five stunned: Indominus had made Rainbow into the only warrior that could fight him at his best and potentially beat him in combat. She had seen all his powers and how he fought against his enemies, and now she was using that knowledge and the power he had given her to fight for her life and Indominus's. Her friends hoped that Rainbow could stop Indominus, because with how long he had been using the Immortal Phoenix, there was no telling how badly damaged his body was. Their bodies were rattled when a massive shock wave was created from Indominus and Rainbow colliding fists with each other. Strikes of lightning and streaks of golden fire surged outward from the colliding hoof and hand.

"You're definitely the strongest opponent I've ever faced, Indominus. As much as I love testing my strength against you, I have to stop your anger!" Rainbow dealt a savage punch to the dinosaur's face as he dealt a flaming punch to hers.

Both fighters staggered and were brought to their knees from the blows. This was the first time Tyrannosaurus or the raptors had ever seen Indominus getting wounded while he was the Immortal Phoenix. Clearly, Rainbow had the strength and fighting prowess to hold her own against the hybrid and damage him in a state that was supposed to make him invulnerable. Indominus struggled to stand up again, the first sign that the battle and his power were taking their toll on his body. As he stood back up, he spotted something in the air that was heading for the battlefield, and it brought fresh anger back into his heart. When Rainbow saw Indominus's attention wasn't focused on her again, she followed his gaze and her heart sank when she found what had caught his attention.

Spitfire was making her way towards the area, she had seen most of the fight and wanted to see Indominus fall. Despite Rainbow telling her to stay out of the fight, the stubborn Wonderbolt had chose to ignore the life-saving advice and nearly spell her demise. Seeing the Wonderbolt that had berated Rainbow so many times and been beaten by Indominus already, filled the dinosaur's head with more rage and he exploded off the ground. Rainbow wasn't able to catch Indominus because he had gained a head start on her, and could only watch as the hybrid grabbed Spitfire by the neck and headed back towards the compound. Indominus threw Spitfire into the air once they were above the damaged runway, and began smashing her with his fists all over again.

The other Wonderbolts had finally regained consciousness from their beating, but their bodies were too thrashed to help Spitfire in any way. They could only watch as Indominus grabbed Spitfire by the face and slammed her into the runway. Indominus held Spitfire in his hand by the throat and looked down upon the devastated Wonderbolt, who was crying from the force of his attack.

"This is your reward for attacking my family, your eternal REWARD! DIE WONDERBOLT!!" Indominus raised his right hand, claws ready to strike and lunged at Spitfire.

The others screamed in horror as they thought their leader was going to be killed in front of them. Indominus's claws pierced flesh, but it wasn't the one that he had expected to hurt. Rainbow Dash had reached the compound in time, but couldn't attack Indominus with Spitfire so close. Unable to choose between letting her heroes or husband live, Rainbow had to act and the only thing she could do was to throw her body in front of Indominus, and take the blow for Spitfire. Surprised by the act of selflessness, Indominus dropped Spitfire and pinned the weakened Rainbow Dash to the ground.

As he stared down at her, the demon in his mind kept telling him to kill her.

"Kill her, that Wonderbolt must die! Tear her to shreds!"

Indominus was about to listen to his dark half when he finally took notice of the rainbow mane. He then peeled away the face part of the uniform and when he saw who he had stabbed, all the anger in his mind disappeared instantly.

"RAINBOW DASH!!!!"

Indominus had actually stabbed Rainbow Dash, the one pony he loved so much and gave so much for. As the realization sank into his mind, Indominus finally got a look at all the devastation he had caused in his rampage. The beaten, bleeding pile of Wonderbolts, the out of control flames emitting from his body and the destroyed runway, filled his heart with guilt. The memory of all the damage he had caused came flooding back into his mind, and it overwhelmed Indominus to where he collapsed on his knees. Even the lightning clouds that had been around during his rampage dissipated into the air.

"No. W-What have I done!? I've hurt the pony I love most." Overcome with grief, guilt and sorrow over what he had done, Indominus bathed the Wonderbolts in his energy, and healed their bodies.

Spitfire was speechless at how Indominus had healed them after all the damage he had brought before. As she and her teammates started to stand again, Indominus turned his attention to his hurt wife. He gently poured his power on the wounds and they began to heal slowly. Given that he had hurt Rainbow with the Immortal Phoenix, the wounds wouldn't heal completely. Thankfully he managed to stop the bleeding and it allowed Rainbow to regain consciousness. Before Indominus could even begin to apologize to Rainbow, the Wonderbolts rammed him and dragged his burning body into the sky.

Rainbow was just getting her bearings when she saw her husband being dragged into the sky and being assaulted by the healed Wonderbolts. All she remembered was losing consciousness after Indominus had rammed his claws through her, it was remarkable that he hadn't pierced her heart. Now everything was happening so fast, but she remembered that she still had to turn Indominus back to normal. She saw a brief window of opportunity with Indominus being bombarded by the Wonderbolts, and began gathering energy in her mouth while flying after them. Still stricken with guilt over attacking Rainbow Dash, Indominus didn't have the will to fight back against the healed Wonderbolts.

Spitfire noticed Rainbow flying above them and the ball of red energy and saw the moment to stop the dinosaur.

"Wonderbolts! Knock this beast in her direction!." The Wonderbolts heeded their leader and dealt a combined punch to Indominus, sending him careening towards Rainbow Dash.

As Indominus got one last look at her, Rainbow said sadly. "Forgive me Indominus." Rainbow opened her mouth and released an enormous blast upon the hybrid dinosaur.

Down below, the Mane Five, CMC< Princesses and dinosaurs were horrified to see Indominus being carried away by Rainbow's blast. His painful roar could be heard across the landscape until the blast collided with the ground and blew up. The geyser of energy rocketed skyward and left everypony, especially Scootaloo in awe of its display.

"Who knew Rainbow Dash had that much power inside her, because of Indominus."

"We can marvel at it later Scootaloo, we've got to see if my brother is still alive," said Tyrannosaurus.

The group took off in the direction of the blast with the dinosaurs leading the way. They had to go through a dense forest following Indominus's scent and after a ways, the dinosaurs stopped at the edge of the trees. In a open and destroyed clearing, the group could see Indominus laying down in the dirt, with bloody marks all over him. There were far more this time than after his last rampage, and the dinosaur wasn't even budging. Twilight and the others were worried that he had been killed, they wanted to go and check but Tyrannosaurus and the raptor squad wouldn't budge.

"What's up T-Rex," said Luna. "We need to see if he's alright."

"We can't just yet Luna, because we're not alone. I can smell those wretched ponies heading this way, and Rainbow is with them."

T-Rex was right, Rainbow and the Wonderbolts were descending on the battered Indominus Rex. When they landed, the others were nervous about getting close to the wounded dinosaur, worried that he might explode and transform into the Immortal Phoenix again. Only Rainbow Dash walked forward to check on her fallen husband.

"What are you doing Crash? Get away from that thing!"

"Shut your mouth Spitfire!" The Wonderbolt's tail slashed at the ground in an agitated way after Rainbow's remark.

As Rainbow got closer, she could how heavily the battle and the Immortal Phoenix had damaged Indominus. The horrible bleeding marks told her how much physical pain he had been enduring in addition to the emotional pain of watching her being attacked and bullied by Soarin.

"Oh Indominus, you were hiding this kind of pain from me?" Just then, Indominus began to stir and Rainbow backed up to give him room.

The hybrid had serious trouble getting back on his feet, his body had been through so much that he collapsed three times before finally steadying himself. His memory was hazy after the assault and Rainbow's tremendous blast, but once he saw the marks where his claws had pierced her body, his heart broke at the sight. He turned his head away from Rainbow because he couldn't bear to see the one he loved marked by an attack he had done.

"Indominus what's wrong?"

"Rainbow Dash, I-I-I can't be around you anymore." This sent absolute dread into Rainbow's heart, he couldn't be serious.

"Y-You can't mean that, Indominus."

"I do. I'm too dangerous to be around, I destroy everything around me and kill every creature in sight." Indominus could feel his voice breaking and tears forming in his eyes. "The Wonderbolts were right: I truly am a monster. Which is why I can't be around you anymore."

Rainbow felt her heart starting to break as she watched Indominus grab his ring, remove it from his middle sickle claw and throw it in Rainbow's direction. She felt tears rolling down her face as she tried to approach Indominus, hoping that he didn't really mean leaving her for good.

"Please Indominus, you can't mean this. You mean so much to me and Scootaloo."

"I'm nothing but a monster, I don't deserve love or a family. That's why you'll be better off with the Wonderbolts, so go and take off with them," Indominus said with his head still turned away from Rainbow.

"No, I need you in my life Indominus. I can't live my life without-" Rainbow was interrupted by what Indominus did next, and it destroyed his heart.

"GET AWAY FROM ME NOW YOU STUPID PONY!!!!" He bellowed an earth shattering roar while tears were flowing down his face.

Terrified, the Wonderbolts went for the sky and Rainbow followed after she had grabbed the ring. Once she was far enough from Indominus, she looked back at him with great sadness in her eyes. Her heart was just as broken as his, for the one creature she had loved so much, had deemed himself too destructive to be part of her life.

"Goodbye, my Indominus Rex," Rainbow said sadly before catching up with the Wonderbolts.

As Indominus watched Rainbow fly away with the Wonderbolts, he felt his heart breaking apart for what he had done to her. Unable to deal with the overwhelming sadness, he bellowed the saddest roar of his life. It was a cry so sad and heartbreaking that in brought the Mane Five into tears, including Applejack, who always cried on the inside. Scootaloo and the CMC buried their faces in T-Rex's because the moment was too painful for their little hearts. Even Celestia and Luna were overcome by the teary sight, especially Luna, for she had seen how much Indominus loved Rainbow and could only imagine what could've happened to result in such heartbreak.

It was such a soul-wrenching moment for the devastated hybrid dinosaur, his own actions had caused him more pain than the ones he was trying to hurt in the first place. Now Indominus could no longer be with Rainbow Dash, knowing that he would never be able to forgive himself for attacking the one pony he loved most. His cries echoed across the land, and they even got his brother and sisters to shed tears of their own. Without Rainbow, Indominus felt like he no longer had a purpose in life, and felt the only thing to do was to rot away in the spot where he stood until he died. In his shattered heart, he felt that it would be the only way to free himself from the pain he had brought upon his family.

As Rainbow faded from view in the sky, Indominus gave a tearful farewell.

"Goodbye, m-my sweet....a-and l-lovely......RAINBOW DASH!!!!!!!!!"
