Chapter 1: Equestria

Twilight Sparkle the new magic specialist joins all the specialists in the conference room. She has her own special chair for her to sit on since she can’t get onto a human chair. Utopia glides through the blackness of the void scanning for another parallel universe of Equestria that the Utopian specialists could arrive at. Though with so many universes that are now unorganized and deteriorating the specialists find themselves rather than saving collapsing societies, they keep a universe itself from collapsing. More than once a specialist had to build a special machine in the center of a planet or in the middle of a star that pulled the universe together before it expanded into the void.

“Well Twilight Sparkle. Now that you’re a specialist you have to get a new name.” Said Impulse at the head of the table.

“W-what? Why can’t I keep my name? It sounds magical.”

“Well it doesn’t say magical now does it? We all had first names…Time for you to fall in line with the rest of us. Mother found a name for you this morning and I think you may like it.” He said with a reassuring smile.

Twilight was about to retort when she realized that they all indeed went by their titles. “…Ok. What has mother named me?” Said Twilight sadly lowering her ears.

“Spell Caster.” When Impulse said Spell Caster Twilights ears shot up.

“T-that’s…Not bad.” She said with a smile. “Spell Caster. That’s a name I can live with.”

“Good now that we have your name out of the way. Nano Swarm.” Said Impulse looking over to a woman wearing heavy iron boots and in a tank top with blue jeans. She was lying back nonchalantly in her chair with her feet on the table.

“Yea?” She said in the dullest tone ever...

“You have to regenerate. You don’t have immortality so you’re going to have to do a few more solo missions in your home world Equestria.”

“Wait what? DID YOU LOOK AT MY FATHERS ARCHIVES?” She shouted at Impulse.

“Well yea. And he wasn’t your father, you are a clone of his so he could live forever. Now you need to regenerate your body in Equestria again so that you can improve on your abilities again.”

She froze when she thought about it and all her rage disintegrated into a silent blank stare. “Well…Oh shut up!” She said to Turmoil the gyro/turret specialist who was sitting across from her…laughing his ass off from the sudden ‘rage’ to ‘wut?’ expression on Nano’s face.

“It was pretty funny Nano!” Said a cheery voice coming from Sky Rider as she joins in the laughter. Impulse still isn’t amused but the other specialists join in. Binary and his maniacal laughter made the whole incident seem darker than it was.

“Well now that all those giggles are out.” Said Witch Doctor after everyone calmed down. “Sound Wave is pretty much useless…How about we regenerate her mind and Nano Swarm’s into the same body.” At this the entire room was silent.

“W-WHAT?! I’m not useless!” Said a female voice taking out her head phones and slamming a portable music player on the table.

“Yes you are. You can blow things apart with sound. However you don’t go outside to meet anyone and you would rather have them come to you. And when you do go out it’s always you trying to find a night club of some sort. So why not? I know how to combine your minds. I’ve done it on my own with different animals when you guys were busy.”

The whole room was quiet. As Spell Caster began to fully understand what Witch Doctor did a chill went down her spine. “UGH!” Exclaimed Spell Caster.

“What? NO I DIDN’T LITTERALLY SOW THEM TOGETHER! I took the brainwaves of one and placed those in the other mind. Then I improved its performance so it would be able to handle two thoughts at once. But I’ll need to install a coolant system since the overworking brain will generate more heat than the body could handle.”

“Ok umm Witch Doctor.” Said Nano Swarm. “I just want you to know I am not going to sleep for the next three weeks knowing you want to fuse me and Sound.”

“Oh…aw I was preparing the stasis chambers for weeks.” He said with a defeated frown.

“Peace Keeper?” Said Beast Master who noticed Peace Keeper deep in thought.

He looked up at Beast Master and said “Yes?”

“What’s your idea?”

“Well I haven’t thought of anything.”

“Lie.”

“…Yea.”

“What is it?”

“We should all separate. All of us go to different universes and save people on our own. It will do the realms good. Nano Swarm will regenerate at the location of the next collapse and she will prevent it. I think we should also consider the idea of having our new specialist here have a go at a human reality to save. You know see the worst of the worst first.” He said with a serious tone and a blank face.

“Well we’ve been splitting up. But I’m guessing you suggest leaving Utopia to fend for itself in the void right?” Said Impulse as he glared at Peace Keeper.

“I guess.” Said Peace Keeper looking at the ceiling. “Oh Beast Master have you officially named your spirit guide?”

“Who Alpha?” Said Beast Master. “Yea he named himself after his old title rather than an actual name. Wolves don’t exactly give each other names. His new name is Mouse.”

“Mouse? Not bad. But why name him after a prey animal?”

“Because I like mice…”

“…Ok.”

Twilight, now Spell Caster, heads to the great library through the Utopia’s tram system…The great golden city known as Utopia. She couldn’t believe she was here infinitely away from home. No distance between here and home and yet no way to go there. Utopia’s core had a mind of its own and at times it whispered random commands that she obeyed without question. At times she went to the core itself and gazed at the white dwarf that gave the station life. Utopia was a city…But it had only thirteen people living there. And an entire army of golden soldiers…Golems. Golem God the golem specialist was able to make magic golems. They resembled unicorns only they rivaled the height of Celestia herself and they were just as powerful as the sun goddess. But none compared to the power Spell Caster was gifted to by when Utopia accepted her.

Spell Caster reaches the great library after five minutes of commuting and went inside to learn more about humans before she had to go and solve their problems.

She found out of the ethnic cleansing and other things like that. She noticed how religion was capable of driving people to kill in many forms. And after about a week of studying culture she realized how difficult it would be for her to convince the world to become peaceful with each other. She had only one choice now…Appear as a god to them and they will fall in line. Use faith as a weapon of peace rather than its more than often uses for war.

“Spell Caster you still in the library?” Said a voice from behind her that rips her away from the holographic displays.

“Who?” Said Twilight in confusion at the name.

“You forget your own name?” Said Nano Swarm leaning against the tall gold and bronze doors of the library.

“Oh Nano Swarm.” She said a smile appearing on her face, then she blushed. “Oh yea that’s my new name isn’t it?”

Nano moves next to Spell Caster and sits down next to her. “We are almost ready to send me to Equestria again…Did you know I wasn’t born? I was created.”

“Yea I heard about that…You’re a female version of John Cole…You became a female because of the DNA from Rainbow Dash…I’m still impressed reality allowed that mix to create a human rather than a mutated mix between pony and human.”

“Well I’m not all life form…I’m mostly made up of machines so they have the blame for the shape of my body. Witch Doctor cleaned out my bones and my veins so I could carry material inside them and increase my density to an impressive level…I can carry Equestria inside me if I have to.”

“Wow that’s amazing! When you get back I want to learn how to make another you. Maybe I should get whatever upgrade you were born with that allowed you to fall and not break bone when you literally slam into the ground.” They sat there for a while remembering the first time they were in Equestria.

“Hey Spell Caster? Which specialist did you meet first? Or see first, whichever.”

“Sky Rider. She was riding on a dragonfly golem. The only one with a saddle.” She giggled.

“Yea…Sky Rider is pretty cute don’t you think.” Said Nano Swarm.

Spell Caster faltered for a moment. “A-are you…”

“Problem?”

“…no.”

“Good. And it’s mainly because of my dad really…Or John Cole. Whichever you want to think of him as.”

“Oh so does that mean you have more hormones than a regular female?”

“…Well yea I guess. Never really thought about that. Didn’t really care. Anyway I’ve got to go get ready for the transformation in Witch Doctor’s stasis chambers…I’m going to become grand. I have a lot of new abilities right now and I can’t wait to use them when I absorb enough Equestrian material.”

“Hey Nano?”

“Yea?”

“Don’t force yourself on Fluttershy.” She said while holding back a laugh.

“Ha I won’t…” She leans in close to Spell Caster. “She’s not my type.” Whispered Nano. “Now Rainbow…” She said with lust in her eyes. They both started laughing.

“Have fun Nano Swarm.” She said after they stopped laughing. She turns back to the holographic displays and she starts going through more data about humans.

Nano Swarm gets up and almost reaches the door before Spell Caster calls after her. “MAKE FRIENDS! AND DON’T KILL MINE!”

“HAHAHAHA! I’ll make sure I don’t kill ponies but if any royal guard get in my way to a donut shop then I’ll crack some skulls.”

“YOU BETTER NOT!” Said Spell Caster in a royal Canterlot voice.

“Was that your Luna impression?” They remained in laughter as Nano Swarm walks out the door.

Sky Rider and Turmoil both worked on a new capsule that would take a small party to any dimension that they chose to go to. Golem God also gave it six legs so it can tail Nano Swarm if ever she needs assistance of any kind. Sky Rider gave it the ability to fly. Turmoil gave it the shape of a golden bullet. It almost looked like a jelly fish only it was ten feet tall, and thirty feet tall if it stood on the tips of its spiked legs. It had a golden insectoid feel to it.

“W-what’s this?” Said Nano Swarm as she enters the hanger where it is being made.

“It’s the capsule we’re sending you in with!” Started Sky Rider. “It can fly like a jet and can follow you around when you think of it for assistance! It also makes a golden trail behind it. Pretty neat huh?”

“Yea that sounds pretty cool I guess. But can it get me to an area that has iron? Or even platinum?”

“Well I’ll see if Watchman or Binary has a system or program that can detect that for you.”

“All right. Turmoil you think you can convince Beast Master to send Mouse with me? I might need a spirit guide. I’ve never really been first to make conversation sooooo…”

“No.” Said a very tall man in black heavy combat armor.

(Turmoil used to be on life support. His that contained him was a heavy armor suit that was made for him to live in. Now that Witch Doctor got him new lungs he doesn’t need to be in his suit. However he clings to old habits and patrols around Utopia wearing it at times.)

“Aw why not?”

“I don’t mess with the spirit world. That’s Golem’s area of expertise. And I don’t think it would be a good idea to take Beast Master’s spirit guide away from him anyway. He may need him when going to another Equestria.”

“Ugh fine…can you come with?”

“…No. I’ve got to go to yet ANOTHER Equestria…I’m really getting tired of the simplicity of that world.”

“Well you and me both…Well I guess it’s a good place to start right? I’ve done this before but I don’t like explaining myself to a…crowd.” She shuddered.

“Y-you have stage fright?” Said Turmoil felling thankful he’s in a suit…He was grinning ear to ear.

“Yea…OH SHUT UP I KNOW YOU’RE SMILING!”

“Now how do you know that?”

“Didn’t. You just admitted my suspicions.”

“DAMMIT!”

Nano Swarm exits the stasis chamber and looks around. Only to find she can’t see.

“Witch Doctor? What did you do?” She said barely containing her rage.

“I took your site so you must rely on your Swarm. You can produce thousands of drones in seconds now. That means they can send you data about your surrounding area without you needing to see or hear it.”

“So you made me blind…And super senses? Some fucking trade off you piss cake!”

“HAHAHAHAHA!”

When the capsule was done all the specialists met up in the hanger to see off Nano Swarm. All the thirteen specialists were there. Peace Keeper, Spell Caster, Impulse Power, Beast Master, Binary, Sound Wave, Witch Doctor, Sky Rider, Turret Turmoil, Watchman, Smoke Machine, Golem God.

“Good luck friend.” Said Golem God. “Make Equestria prosper in the name of Utopia. And improve those new abilities I heard about.”

“Yea about those. FUCK YOU WITCH!” Shouted Nano Swarm still incapable of seeing. With Sky Riders help she got into a black cloak and put a black blind fold on. She looked pretty bad ass really. But she couldn’t tell, Sky Rider could have put her in pink for all she knew.

“Nano Swarm I’m disappointed.” Said Golem God. “It does not matter if you can see your environment. As long as you can understand it. You can still trip on obstacles when you have eyes to see them with. But when you have senses to feel them you can’t miss them.”

Everyone stared at him in silence. That was possibly one of the most intelligent ramblings Golem God has ever come up with when it came to inspirational speeches. Well it wasn’t a speech but it sure as hell calmed Nano Swarm when she heard it.

“Ok Witch I won’t kill you now.”

“That’s an improvement.” Said Turmoil.

“Bye Nano!” Shouted Sky Rider with an animated jump that you would expect from Pinkie…In fact she may have gotten that from her.

“Hey Nano.” Said Spell Caster. “Don’t come onto Rainbow to hard ok? You’ll creep her out.”

“It’s ok Twilight. Cole was able to sleep in the same bed with her so I know what her limits are.” At this Spell Caster froze up and just pondered life. Or her joke was skull fucked so hard it broke her logic.

“Ok Nano I’m going to start up the dimensional rift.” Said Impulse.

“Oh Nano Swarm!” Said Watchman. “Gold isn’t subtle so I changed the trail to blue and you would look like a comet coming down. We can’t put you on the surface so we’ll put you in space. You will have all the time there to get comfortable and figure out a game plan. I’m basically sending you into orbit around Equestria so you won’t need to worry.”

“How will I get down?”

“You would be able to command the capsule through your mind. Just ask it to go down and it will.”

“All right anything else?”

“Yea hurry up. The ponies below won’t know what to think about a comet that’s spinning around Equestria for days on end. Oh and try not to kill or piss anyone off.”

“Got it.”

The capsule closed with Nano Swarm inside. It was comfortable. The seats didn’t need to be reinforced because Nano Swarm more recently got a gravity stabilizer to keep her tons and tons of compressed material in her body from weighing her down. She waited for there to be something noticeable that she’s left and on cue there was a rumbling in the small cabin.

“Arriving at destination.” Said a computerized female voice.

“All right. Now to think.”

Nano Swarm sat there in the cabin for just a few hours of brain storming before a force started to interact with the capsule. It shook the cabin as it started to pull the capsule toward the earth.

“WHOA!” Shouted Nano Swarm as she hit the atmosphere at great speeds. It lasted a good thirty minutes until the force slowed the capsule down and it eventually started to slow to a steady descent. It then stopped…

“Umm…What?”

Both Celestia and Luna examine the golden six legged comet. The legs were moving around as if trying to escape before giving up and seemingly longing to be on the ground.

“What should we do Tia?” Said Luna.

“I’m not sure. Maybe we should let it go in hopes it will return to where it’s from. Then we will only need to wonder its purpose.”

“True but it seems pony-made and I want to dissect this specimen to learn its secrets on space travel.”

“That seems like an interesting idea…” Celestia cocks her head to the side still examining the creature. “…But I don’t know. Maybe we should hold onto it for now.”

“Very well. We will discuss its fate when we are ready to-“

*POOF*

Black smoke appeared below the creature and a blind folded two legged creature appeared from the mist.

“HEY WILL YOU LET GO OF MY POD!” It said in an angry tone.

Chapter 2: The Reunion

The three figures stand in the castle court yard staring at each other…But Nano just stood there because she couldn’t see either princess in her current condition. Celestia and Luna both look at the two legged creature with pin prick eyes as its statement echoed through their head. They weren’t sure how to deal with this particular creature. Then Luna spoke up.

“C-creature! Leave Equestria immediately! You have no place here!” Luna was obviously afraid of Nano Swarm and the capsule; but as to why she couldn’t tell. The ponies never were so afraid of her before. Did she just look intimidating?

“Umm actually my goal was Equestria. I’m here for a reason and one you may not understand. Now can you help me find my bearings? I can’t see.” She said in a neutral tone. At this point Celestia got distracted and dropped the capsule on top of the creature.

“GOD DAMMIT!” screamed Nano Swarm as she lifts the capsule off her body. Terrifying the hell out of both princesses.

“I SWEAR IF YOU WEREN’T CELESTIA I WOULD KICK YOUR ASS!”

Celestia tilted her head in confusion. “Y-you know of me?”

“Of course. The wielder of the elements of harmony along side your sister.” She let the capsule stand on its own. “Though I only just chose to make an appearance because I want something from Equestria. Specifically from Canterlot.”

Celestia glared at her but she couldn’t tell because she could only feel the world a single meter around herself. “You can’t have anything from Equestria! Now leave before we seal you away!”

“You can’t fool me Celestia. I know that you have no control over the elements now. Though I don’t know what the current events are at the moment. Tell me did discord escape yet?”

“I said leave!”

“Really? And what will you do? Glow on me? The sun cannot harm a child of Utopia. I am one such child.” Nano said boastfully.

“BUT THE NIGHT CAN!” Called out Luna and she sent a navy blue beam at Nano Swarm.

It impacted her and she held her ground against the beam as it pushed her farther and farther back across the courtyard. Nano was fixed on the ground as she was being forced to slide across the gravel path and came to a halt when Luna was exhausted.

“Really? What have I done to deserve this treatment?”

Both princesses looked at her with raised eyebrows.

“Umm. You are human. You harm each other and you’ve harmed our ponies.” Said Celestia.

“No I didn’t! Who did I hurt?”

“Well not you but someone like you.”

“…What was his name.” Said Nano Swarm almost fearful.

“…John Cole.” Said Celestia.

“…Damn…Ok yea umm. Sorry about him. He’s my. Other.”

“Other? Surely you must be different creatures?” Said Luna.

“I’m his clone…” A long FUCKING moment of silence as the information sunk into both princesses.

“Y-you’re John Cole?” Said Celestia with rage slowly building in her.

“Not per say. Sure I have his DNA but technically I’m his daughter. Oh and fun fact Rainbow’s my mom!” She said with a smile and dramatically throwing her arms out into the open air.

“…R-Rainbow Dash?” Said Celestia.

“Yup! Oh and after about fifteen years of my life as a Utopian, Impulse the guy who made Utopia; found a memory storage device that allowed me to see my fathers’ last memories…He was quite fond of Rainbow Dash and he chose to clone himself. Only he gave it his brain activity and set his mind to be machine like so he could transfer his soul or something to me. Then I was formed into a human and infused with a lot of improvements so I could be the ultimate Nano Swarm controller. Oh and that’s my name Nano Swarm.”

“Whatever your business here I don’t want you to go near my little ponies!” shouted Celestia.

“Why not?”

“Because last time you were here humans became the image of evil! And I can’t blame them! Your father was evil by almost killing Rainbow Dash!”

“He didn’t almost kill her you know.”

Nano Swarm slammed her fists into the ground and the material started to be absorbed into her body and turned into nanobots. The new microscopic machines spread out quickly so she could see more of the world around her. Soon she developed a sensory device with the nanobots so she could see everything that they had a line of sight with. She could see Celestia and Luna both powering up spells to attack her.

“OH SHIT!” She said and then she thought. ‘Get me out of here!’

The capsule speeds across the horizon at great speeds with Nano Swarm inside. The sky was turning lighter as the sun began to rise and ponies were starting to wake up. Some of them caught a comet whizzing by their homes in Canterlot or over another city state or town. Eventually the capsule found a distant land with a very eerie forest to rest in…Or crash in. The Everfree.

*Boom*

Rainbow was woken by a strange and distant explosion. She shot up out of bed when she heard it expecting something dangerous trying to get at her. She calmed down when she noticed nothing in her room and she went outside to look around. Again nothing.

“…way to early.” She grumbled and went back to bed.

‘We sense something.’ A mini display popped up in her vision.

“Ugh not you! Ok what’s going on?”

‘Something powerful landed.’

“Powerful?” She said skeptically to the screen that haunts her vision.

‘Human’ At this Rainbow froze solid. She faltered and almost fell to the ground but corrected herself.

“H-human? L-like that thing that came out of that chamber thing?”

‘Possibly. This creature is defiantly powerful and strong with the readings.’

“Readings?” Rainbow questioned the box of text in her eye.

“Rainbow!” Yelled a lavender unicorn from below.

“Twilight?” Rainbow flew down to meet the lavender unicorn in question. “What’s up?”

“You heard the explosion too right? Well of course you did why else would you be up this early.” She said in matter of factually.

“Well yea. Where did it come from?”

“Well…The forest. I saw some blue trail coming from the forest and I thought that it might be whatever caused that explosion…were you talking to the swarm?”

That caught Rainbow off guard. “Y-yea they were saying something about what it was.”

“W-what?! What did it say?”

“Umm possibly that it was…Human.”

‘not going to tell her about the chamber yet?’ Rainbow didn’t respond to the Swarm message.

“H-human?” Twilight said fearful. “You wake the others and explain the situation! I’ll write to Celestia!”

“On it!”

Twilight sprints to the library and Dash goes to wake up Fluttershy and Applejack first.

Nano Swarm exits the capsule and looks around. She’s in the Everfree forest and finds the forest having a very creepy aura. She’s able to ignore it but she can tell that a pony might end up being afraid of this forest. She finds a clearing and starts to absorb the material of the forest.

“Ah yes this is. WHAT I CAME FOR!” A crater starts to form around her as she hovers in the air with her swarm moving about to rip matter from the ground and into her bones. Teleporting it from the place it once called home to a highly condensed chamber inside her body.

A minute goes by and she already takes in enough material to cut down a mile of the forest area.

“Ah yes that…Was good.” She said with a pleased groan. Her Nanobots began to create even more so she can see around her better than before. She found every detail about the forest fascinating as her vision widened to the point she could see outside the forest.

“R-Rainbow Dash?” Said Nano Swarm with surprise when she felt a fast creature flying across Ponyville with a slower one behind her heading to another location. “Futtershy?”

Nano Swarm got noticeably giddy.

“MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!” She screamed as she shot off into the sky with the biggest grin on her face and started to fly in Rainbow’s direction. The golden capsule followed her close behind with a blue trail.

Rainbow was heading toward Applejack’s after getting Fluttershy to go to get Rarity and Pinkie. She heard some sort of scream coming from the forest and when she looked at it she saw a black dot speeding toward her at a really fast pace.

“-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!”

*Crash*

The creature smashed into Rainbow Dash and carried her in the direction of Ponyville. Before Rainbow could register what just happened the creature spoke.

“HI RAINBOW I’M YOUR DAUGHTER NANO SWARM!”

“W-WHAT?!” She shouted in confusion and they both stopped mid air. Nano Swarm let go of Rainbow and they both hovered next to each other examining each other. Rainbow spoke up first between their long silence.

“J-John?”

“Close. I’m his daughter.”

“W-what? He had a daughter?!?!”

“Well with you actually.” She said with a sheepish smile. Rainbow’s mouth would have hit the floor if she wasn’t flying.

“W-with me?”

“Yea I’m born with a mix of his DNA and yours. So basically I’m a clone of his but because of your genes I became a girl! Pretty neat huh?”

“…” Rainbow was at a lose for words.

“This might help. You’re my mom!”

“B-but where were you then? I-I saw you in the chamber thing and you broke out!”

“Yea and I was saved by the Utopians! My name is Nano Swarm and I am the nanobot specialist!”

“Specialist?”

“Yea I’m a specialist with Nanotech and I came to see you after about sixty or so years of going to dimension to dimension to save people and ponies alike!”

“Wait you’re not here to…hurt us right? It sounds like your not bu-“

“No Rainbow and if I was here to hurt anyone you’d be dead by now.” She dead panned.

“…oh…So what now?”

“Oh I’m going to bunk with you for a while.”

“W-what?!?!”

“Yea I’m staying with you for now. Well at least until the princess stops hunting me that is.”

“Wait WHAT DID YOU DO?”

“She took my capsule out of orbit before I could think of a way to contact you guys without scaring you.” The capsule caught up finally and hovered next to them. “See I came in this thing.”

“I-its big…”

“Did you say that to daddy?” She said mischievously.

Rainbow blushed crimson red and retorted. “N-NO! WE NEVER DID THAT!”

“Just checking. Lets go home now. Capsule return to the Everfree landing site. If someone goes to check then they need to at least find something or they’ll panic.”

“W-wait! You have to go back to the place where you crashed or something because I’m supposed to go check that out right now! And the princesses are coming…”

“Oh…This’ll be fun.” She shoots off back toward the landing zone…or crash zone.

After a few minutes of Rainbow watching Nano Swarm and the capsule fly off back to the forest she snaps out of her trance when the screen pops up in her eyes again.

‘She’s scary powerful.’

“What do you mean?”

‘She tells the truth when she said you’d be dead by now if she wanted to cause harm.’

Celestia paces in the throne room with Luna sitting deep in thought about what to do about this new threat.

“I-I need to warn Twilight.” Said Celestia worried for Twilight’s safety.

*pop*

Luna looks over at Celestia where a scroll appeared before Celestia. Celestia hesitantly picked it up and started to read out loud.

“Dear Princess Celestia.

This morning in Ponyville a large explosion woke many ponies up. We believe it came from the Everfree forest. But that’s not all. We believe that the whatever made that explosion is a human. I ask for you and your sister Luna to come to Ponyville and help us resolve the issue if indeed it is a human.

Your Faithful Student,

Twilight Sparkle.”

Celestia looked at Luna with a blank expression and Luna just nodded and they ran off to the barracks to round up guards.

“Gaw just sitting here is boring…” Said Nano Swarm getting impatient. “When’s Rainbow getting here with her friends?”

Just then some bushes began to shake and a creature comes out of the thick jungle growth. “…What the fuck?”

Rainbow and Fluttershy wait for Twilight at the forest edge and when Twilight finally reaches them she explains the situation.

“All right girls. You remember John Cole? Well we have reason to believe he’s back.”

There were gasps from all of the ponies except Rainbow.

“Actually Twilight.” Said Rainbow “Um just a few minutes ago the human came over to me. Well she flew over. Without wings or a device to make her fly I think. And it was a girl. She said she is my daughter.”

“W-what?” Said everyone in unison.

“Yea she called herself Nano Swarm. She also called herself some sort of specialist or Utopian.”

“Well where is she now?”

“I told her to meet us in the Everfree since we were all going there anyway.”

“Good. Now we should wait for the-“

“Twilight Sparkle!” Said a regal voice from above them.

They look up and see a chariot carrying Celestia and another one carrying Luna. Both with solar and lunar guards pulling each chariot.

“Twilight Sparkle. We are happy to see thou with friends.” Said Luna with a smile.

“Thank you Luna.” She and her friends bowed.

“Elements. I have grave news.”

“Nano Swarm already made her appearance princess. She’s Rainbow Dash’s daughter.”

“S-so she’s here?” Said Celestia worried.

“I told her to meet us in the forest where she landed.” Said Rainbow.

Nano Swarm was occupied with a Manticore. It was trying to beat her and eat her but it couldn’t because Nano Swarm’s flesh was thick enough so nothing can penetrate it. Also poison doesn’t work against something that had no blood to pump it with.

“You can give up you know?” She said to the creature who was still trying to cut her after she pinned it to the ground by sitting on it. Thanks to her weight she was able to keep it on the ground without any trouble.

*Roar!*

“OH DON’T YOU DARE GET SNUTTY WITH ME!” It faltered for a moment. “That’s better.”

Then more rustling from the bushes. A group of ponies and the princesses came out of the jungle growth and saw the crater were no life existed. It looked more like a plain more than anything and at the center was Nano Swarm on top of a Manticore.

“HAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIII!” She called out. “Hey Fluttershy? Can you tell me how to get him out of here?”

Fluttershy froze for a moment then whispered. “G-get off of him first.” She said and hood behind her mane.

“Oh ok.” Nano Swarm got off. And it got up and ran off. “Hey it worked.”

The group was surprised when she was able to hear Fluttershy from the center of the crater. And the crater was not small by any means. It was a good thirty feet wide…ok that is small for a crater but it still was big enough so that if one whispered across it you wouldn’t be able to hear them.

“Whoa how did you know what she said?” Said Rainbow.

“Oh I’m blind so I have to use the Swarm to see around me. They also can read air so I can find out what someone says even if I’m not close enough to hear them.”

“NANO SWARM!” Said Celestia. “I WILL MAKE SURE YOU CAUSE NO HARM TO MY PONIES!” She yells out. “Guards!”

Then a group of armored ponies swooped down from above and came out of the trees on all sides of Nano Swarm. The capsule shot off into the sky back into space while it left Nano Swarm to defend herself.

“Really this is what you plan on fighting me with?” she said as she saw the group surrounding her on all sides.

“SURENDER NANO SWARM!” Called out princess Luna.

“Umm no. I’ve got some stuff to do and I don’t have time to spend in jail. However Princess. We can come to an agreement if you want. As you know I can fight you and your sister without any real challenge. And I would like to make it easy for you. So I won’t harm any of your little ponies as long as you don’t bother me while I work to save your universe from collapse.”

Celestia and Luna look at each other with confusion. Then Luna speaks up. “Thou promises that no ponies will come to harm? Prove this then!”

“Well proving it is difficult…Umm how about his. You give me a guest room at the castle and I won’t harm anyone.”

Celestia and Luna glare at her. “What? That’s the best I can really do. Other than that I could stay with Rainbow. Who happens to be my mom.”

“Can you prove that I’m your mother?” Said Rainbow.

“…Yes actually.” She shoots up into the air at an alarming rate. Then she’s at the level of the clouds and shoots downward quickly so that a cone forms around her as she dives. Then…

*BOOM*

A sonic boom. Only the rainbow that accompanies her across the sky was weak and see through. The cone in front of her also had rainbow colors to it so most of the rainbow trail came from that. Then Nano Swarm swooped down in front of Rainbow Dash while still doing the Rainboom and she slammed into the ground on both feet. It forced some dirt into the air and shook the ground.

“Your sonic Rainboom is a genetic ability. Because of the fact I have your DNA I get the ability too. But since I’m mostly human the Rainboom is pretty weak so it isn’t as beautiful as yours.”

“I-I-I-I-I what?” Stammered Rainbow. Everyone else had pin prick eyes and open mouths. Even the stone faced guards were flabbergasted.

“So…Can I stay with Rainbow?”

Chapter 3: Canterlot

Nano Swarm was to stay with Rainbow Dash. But before that she had to stay with the princesses in Canterlot. She got a guest room and the capsule found a nice place to stay idle in the courtyard.

Celestia sits on her throne listening to the complaints of a few nobles about Nano Swarm being a human and not banished yet. Luna found a place beside Nano Swarm in the castle labyrinth.

“So what is it like to be human?” Said Luna desperately trying to fill the silence between them.

“Well I don’t really know. I’ve been a Utopian longer than a human so I can’t say I know much.”

“And what is this Utopian that you speak of?” Questioned Luna.

“I am a former human. When you become a Utopian it means that a superior race comes to pick you up and take away your mortality and you become immortal. You also have to do what Utopia says. Which in this case I’ve been asked by Utopia to come here and save this universe form collapse.”

“Collapse? Surely you don’t mean Equestria? We have lived in peace for a thousand years.”

“By collapse I don’t mean social collapse. I mean all of reality is going to be destroyed if I don’t build a machine to stabilize it.”

“Why should we trust what you say is true?” Luna said skeptically

“Why shouldn’t you? I’ve came here on a ship you haven’t seen before. I’ve done nothing to harm you or your citizens. Hell you even attacked me and instead of fighting back I ran to save you from harm. Why do you still hate me?”

Luna paused for a moment and looked around and examined the hedges trying to think of an answer. “We believed humans are the same…That you are violent without reason.”

“That’s a terrible assumption. If a pony kills another pony would that mean all ponies would kill each other if they had the chance?”

“N-no.”

“Then why did it make sense when you applied it to a human?”

“Because humans fight each other a lot. They have war machines far more advanced than our own and they tend to use them to kill each other more often than we do.”

“That’s because there are more nations in the human worlds than here. Equestria is divided into only…What ten? Five? But human nations are counted up all the way to over 200. More since the discovery of other planets to live on. Some countries are even founded in the middle of no where in space. So the more countries there are the more chance that they won’t see eye to eye with at the very least one of them. If ponies didn’t have you or your sister I’m sure the different tribes would still be warring with each other.”

Luna thought for a moment. “I’m sorry Nano Swarm. We did not think through our assumptions the first time we met.”

Nano Swarm smiled. “Hey no sweat.” She gave Luna a hug which made her jump in shock. “I forgive you moon princess. You did allow us to fix up my home in another reality.”

“S-so there are more Equestria’s?”

“Many of them really.”

They found a park like location in the maze with benches to sit on while they talk. “How many?”

“Only about a few thousand. We try to save as many as we can but its getting harder since they start having too much chaos at once. Also we have to deal with the human realities that are going into their own forms of chaos as well.”

“Have you found a solution?”

“Yea we decided it was best for the Utopians to split up and go on solo missions. I’m one of thirteen and alone we are able to end any conflict. But our ways differ. I prefer to crush societies and build my own so people can follow my rules of peace. However that wouldn’t work since people or ponies would rebel and the peace I worked for would be destroyed.”

“True I do see citizens rebelling against oppression. But since you wouldn’t do that what would you do?”

“Well I wasn’t sure. This is the first time I was on my own. Peace Keeper would talk the nations into friendship, and Sky Rider will amaze them with her flying machines to get them to work together for greater technology. Turmoil will tell stories of places worse off and the society would try to become better off. Golem God would make them conform into a religious society and present himself as some sort of philosopher or messiah and get people to work together with religious belief.”

“Hmm these methods do sound interesting. Surely us princesses have already created peace so you would not need to help us in that aspect.”

“Not necessarily. I’ve seen your politics and I’ve noticed that griffons are not loyal. And other nations wouldn’t get involved to protect you.”

Luna looks away from Nano and stares at the gravel path for a few moments. Then she looks back and says. “True. The nations of the world have yet to see eye to eye on some matters and even at times ignore others for help. We of Canterlot try our best to help those who need it.”

“In time it would work and everyone would enjoy each others company. However you need to watch what you say Luna. Last time I saw you guys you made a fatal error of using the Canterlot voice in front of a griffon. Honor means a lot to them and since you’ve dishonored them with that voice they launched war on Canterlot. Luckily the Utopians were there and we fought for you…No griffon died in our attacks and we had thousands of prisoners.”

Luna was silent for a moment. Letting the info of her fault caused a war was unsettling. “W-will this happen soon?”

“It’s ok. It happened when discussing what to do with Utopia. But it may happen again when discussing my fate with other countries. They will put me to death I’m sure. But I can’t die so approve of the decision and when they hang me I’ll be alive.”

“I will tell Celestia all of what you told me…But for now return to your chambers in the castle. I no longer will accompany you since you haven’t caused trouble…” She got up from the bench and started to walk away. Then Luna stopped and turned back to Nano. “And I’d hate to send a bad example to my citizens about your people.”

“Thank you Luna. Did you know you’re my favorite princess.”

“Keep it up and I’ll think you’re trying to butter me up.”

“Oh don’t worry Luna. I am.” She said with a mischievous smile.

“Hahaha. Farwell Utopian.” Luna’s horn glows with a blue shimmer and loud bang rips through the air. She disappears.

Nano Swarm sits there for a few more moments. “I wonder what Rainbow’s doing?”

Rainbow was pacing in her room and panicking to herself about Nano Swarm. The idea of having a daughter was stressful on its own but to have a daughter with a human?

“GAAAAAAAAW! THIS IS SO WEIRD!”

‘Go to her.’ Said a screen that popped up in her eye.

“W-what? No! I don’t want to see her…She’s my daughter. One I didn’t want…” She looked at the cloud floor below her in shame after realizing she is rejecting her daughter. HER DAUGHTER! It doesn’t matter if she’s not a pony she still is Rainbow’s daughter.

‘She’s your daughter.’

“SINCE WHEN DID YOU GET SO OPINIONATED!” Rainbow shouted at herself.

‘Since she showed up…I couldn’t take care of her so you should.’

“…Cole?”

‘Love you Dash!’

“W-what?”

No response.

“Wait Cole? Cole!?” At that moment it was decided. Rainbow would see Nano Swarm.

Twilight was heading out to the Everfree to study the crater that Nano Swarm dug on impact. Or was it something else? Twilight heard about Cole’s abilities in harvesting matter.

Just then the library door burst open and Rainbow flew in.

“Twilight!” Shouted Rainbow in a panic.

“Rainbow what’s wrong?!” Said Twilight with concern.

“I-I need to see Nano Swarm!”

“Nano? Why?”

“S-she’s my daughter Twilight. I-I need to see her. I may not have chosen her but she’s still my daughter.” Said Rainbow in tears.

“Oh Rainbow I’m sorry.” She embraced her multi colored friend. “Come on. Let’s go to Canterlot. I’ll send a message to the princess and we can go over to meet her.”

Princess Celestia was finished hearing the protests of the people. She took all their courses of action into account. Some were just straight up execution. Most others were either a form of banishment or just asking her to leave. Celestia didn’t agree with most of these other than just getting her to leave. She went back to her chambers to think before her sister Luna teleported next to her and escorted her to her room.

“Tia…Nano Swarm must stay.”

Celestia froze. “W-what?”

“We were too quick to judge her my sister. She has dangerous potential and she knows it. Yet despite the fact that we attacked her and even alienated her she still has yet to actively fight us. I believe she may be able to redeem her race with her ways.”

“L-Luna? Are you sure we can trust her?” Celestia said with worry.

“Yes my sister. I am sure.”

“Then I trust your judgment…”

*pop*

A scroll appears before Celestia and she catches it with her magic before it hits the ground. She opens it up and seems worried at first. Then a soft smile appears on the sun princess’ face.

“I believe you’re not the only one who can trust Nano Swarm.” She said showing the letter to Luna. She took it with her magic and smiled warmly as she read.

“Rainbow is already feeling the effects of motherhood? Not even to the same species…And she just met her too…This will be interesting and possibly adorable to watch Tia.”

“Shall we prepare a room?” Said Celestia with a smile.

Nano Swarm was sitting in her guest room at Canterlot castle and refusing to go on the bed. She mainly didn’t want to lay in it because it’s weak and wouldn’t support her new density. There was a maid in the hall dusting a flower pot and another one in the neighboring room cleaning it for somepony new. Nano Swarm could feel this. The swarm she created was able to surround the entire castle now. And they would be sending her important information about her surroundings. She found out the Nanobots were able to send her information about colors and for most of the time in the guest room she tried to get colors down.

“Miss Swarm?” Said a very disciplined voice. Nano looks up to see a pony who looked like some sort of butler. “My name is Proper Manners. If you need anything I will fetch it for you.”

Nano was silent for a moment. ‘I don’t eat. I don’t need things…How do I reject him?’ She thought to herself. Then after a few moments she said. “Hi.”

“Hello.”

“…”

“Umm miss Swarm?” He cocked his head to the side.

“...This will be awkward since I don’t require any basic mortal needs. I won’t require a butler while I’m here. Sorry about that. Though can you swap out this bed and replace it with a more solid surface? Like concrete?”

“…concrete?” He said with the most confused expression. “B-but why?”

“Well I weigh more than the average life form. My weight is several tons at the moment and I can go even farther. In fact that is what I plan on doing. But that means a normal bed would break under my weight. So instead of having a normal bed I have one made of concrete in my suite at Utopia.”

“Y-you live in a suite?”

“Well actually it’s a giant golden fortress known as Utopia or The Fortress of The Sun. Thanks to material gathered from the moon it’s able to shift from a solid gold to ebony black…Well not really but I can look that way. It’s also extremely powerful. We devoted our lives to peace so we could save billions.”

“N-now when you say we?”

“I am part of a group of twelve humans and one pony. We dedicated our lives to save those who need saving. Well that’s what we were told really. I believe Impulse has more in store for the Utopian core than what he’d let us believe. But I’m not going to judge him about it.”

“Who’s Impulse?”

“Some guy…made the fortress of the sun and saved me from death…He saved billions of lives and played with billions more. In a way he’s a tyrant and a hero.”

“Sounds like an interesting stallion.”

“Hah! Yea but he’s got nothing on me. I’m all bite and no bark.”

“S-so would you harm anyone if you felt like it?” His worry showed but his courage must have been very strong to ask that question.

“Would I? No. Could I? Yes.”

“T-that’s good to know. N-now anything I can get you? Other than a concrete bed?”

“Leave me I wish to stay in my thoughts for a while. Although if there are guests let them in.”

Rainbow Dash was pacing nervously in the train car. She wasn’t sure what to say to Nano Swarm and she couldn’t figure out why she wanted to see her so bad. Was she really that into having a daughter? Did she love her?

“Rainbow are you ok?” Said Twilight with a worried expression. Her ears were flopped down.

“Huh? Oh yea…” Said Rainbow hesitantly with a hint of sadness. “I-its just…Ugh I just don’t know Twilight…I just feel…responsible. Like I have to take care of her or something.”

Twilight watches her friend go through a mental break down. “Then when we go there and you will talk to her. You will talk about what you’ve been doing and how she’s been for the years you haven’t known her.” She said confidently.

Rainbow stopped pacing and looked sorrowfully at the ground then at Twilight. “Yea…I’ll ask her about what she’s been doing…And maybe about her father if she asks.” Said Rainbow with a smile returning to her face.

In the void Golem watches Nano Swarm’s progress in the Equestria she was sent to. Utopia hasn’t provided enough information to figure out what type of threat was being provided. Impulse assumed the reality was collapsing, which would make sense because that particular Equestria was made with a dimensional rip.

Golem goes from the observatory to the core of Utopia…its white dwarf star.

“Mother.” Said Golem to the star. “I prey for your ears to listen to me. I worry about this world past. I with to be sent to her. I wish to protect my sister.”

‘So shall it be done O’ all mighty Golem.’

The moon begins to rise as the train reaches the Canterlot train station. Twilight wakes up while Rainbow still sleeps in the bunks that are provided.

“Rainbow wake up we’re here.”

Rainbow was shaken awake by Twilight and she shot up. “W-we are?”

“Yes now come on!”

“W-where’s Nano?”

“At the castle where she should be.”

Nano Swarm sat deep in thought about her plan of action. The princesses are off her back for now but the population still sees her as a menace. Hours went by and the sky began to darken. She hardly noticed when Celestia came in.

“Nano Swarm?”

Nano looks up from the ground she was staring at intensely. “Yes?”

“You have a visitor.” She stepped aside to reveal Twilight and Rainbow Dash trotting in. Rainbow seemed almost overcome by joy when she saw Nano Swarm. Which made her feel very uncomfortable.

“Nano!” She dashed into her.

“Oh hi mom. You came to see me? I’m honored!” She said with a sly smile.

“Umm I. I really don’t know how to do this. Uh how have you been since the last time in Equestria?”

“This Equestria right?” She questioned. Leaving a puzzled Rainbow Dash but she quickly answered.

“Yes.”

“Well I would have to say my entire life so far! But it’s all for good cause. I’ve been fighting werewolves and vampires. Ok not vampires but I’ve been fighting a great number of different creatures. I know a guy who tames dragons. He’s pretty cute actually. Even though I kinda go both ways.”

“W-wait you’re lesbian?”

“BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!” She grinned.

“…wow did not see that coming.”

“And you expected your daughter to be human?” She said like a serious question. Everyone burst into tears because of laughter. At which point Celestia made her leave and left them to discuss amongst themselves.

“So looking at mares?” Said Rainbow.

“I see two right now.” Said Nano still grinning.

“No I mean any mares you’re interested in?”

“Oh well Fluttershy’s kinda cute. But that’s all. Twilight wouldn’t do me on the first date and we’d probably have the driest of relationships. Like sharing a book together dry.” Twilight blushed and Rainbow Dash laughed.

“Yea that sounds like Twilight. Hey how much would you bet that she will date a librarian?”

“I dunno Rainbow I kinda expect her to marry a scroll.” Neither of them seemed to want to lose their smiles. Twilight felt left out until she finally found some courage to speak up.

“Hey Nano?”

“Yea?”

“How old are you?”

“Sixty five.”

“WHAT?!?!” Both Dash and Twilight said in unison.

“What? Cole was hundreds of years older than that.”

“Well true.” Said Rainbow. Now it was Nano Swarm’s turn to ask questions.

“Hey Rainbow. Did you love John Cole?”

Rainbow froze for a moment. “…I-I can’t say.”

“Oh come on Rainbow its not like you’ll traumatize me. Did you love him?”

“At a time I thought I did. Then I hated him when he stabbed me and put nanobots in me. But I sorta forgave him when I realized he only stabbed me because he knew I would be ok afterward.”

“Ok last question…” She stopped smiling. “What drove you to come to me?”

It took a few moments for Rainbow to answer. “Well you’re my daughter an-“

“No no no! I’ve met different versions of you and you would come here to ask questions. Not because you’re maternal instincts acted up.” She glared at Rainbow. “So…What made you come to me?”

Both Twilight and Rainbow Dash froze and went deep in thought. But Rainbow was able to rebound.

“B-because a voice in my head said so…” said Rainbow sadly. “And I think it may have been Cole.”

“R-Rainbow?” Said Twilight worried.

“It’s ok. Want me to remove the swarm?” Said Nano Swarm.

“Ok…But can you show me your eyes?” Nano thought for a moment then agreed. She took off the blindfolds to reveal light blue eyes.

“Whoa.” Said Rainbow. “Y-you’re pretty Nano.”

“Aw mom!” said Nano blushing. “I wanted to hear that from someone not related to me.” She laughed and drew Rainbow in for a hug.

They separated and looked at each other for a while. But Nano didn’t seem like she was looking at Rainbow but rather looking through her.

“Umm Nano are you ok? You’re not really. Looking at me?” She said as she tilted her head to the side.

“I’m blind Rainbow. The swarm gives me sight.”

“Y-you’re blind?” Said Rainbow almost sad.

“Yea. I wasn’t always blind. Just recently so I could be more reliant on my swarm senses.”

“I-is there anything I can do about it?” Said Rainbow worried.

“Nope and I don’t want you to. Now…” She became serious. “Tell me more about Cole’s voice in your head.”

“Well it isn’t a voice. More of a screen. But it’s been giving me advice and I think saved my life a few times.”

“Yea that makes it harder for you to get rid of it huh?”

“…Yea.” Rainbow found the floor really interesting at that moment. So she stared at it.

“Rainbow…I want to know. Where exactly did you find me?”

She looked up from the floor “Huh? Why would you want to go there?”

“Because I want to know if the Trinity survived.”
