“Have you seen Derpy around here?”

Earlier Twilight was given an ultimatum from Sunset to either hand over the crown or Sunset will destroy the portal on the horse statue with a sledgehammer. This in the end turned out to be a lie, as Sunset demonstrated by throwing the hammer through the portal without shattering it. After Twilight stalled Sunset with a series of questions, it gave her friends enough time to spring their plan into action, which was signaled by Twilight shouting words she’d never thought she’d use in the same sentence. After getting the crown as far away from Sunset as they could, Derpy offered to bring the crown to Principle Tia and Vice-Principle Luna, only for everyone else to realize that she went on her own with Sunset still lurking around, causing them all to slit into search parties. Right now Twilight, Spike and Flash are now in the gym asking Vinyl is she had seen Derpy.

Vinyl pressed several buttons on the turn table of the DJ booth before answering Twilight’s question.

“Nope, haven’t seen her.” She said before taking a swig of Red Bull. “Why do you ask? This got to do with that letter I brought you?”

“Yes, it does. Apparently Sunset wanted me to bring her the crown or else she’ll do something messed up.” Twilight explained, avoiding a lengthy explanation about her and Sunset being ponies in human form. “We got the crown away from her thankfully.”

“And Derpy is bringing the crown to Tia and Luna, right?” Vinyl asked in which Twilight nodded. “In that case shouldn’t you just go to Tia or Luna’s office? Or how about calling Derpy?”

“Do you mean this phone that she left in my car?” Flash said after digging into his jacket pocket and presented a smartphone with a brown case with a picture of a muffin on it.

“And Dash and Flutters have going to the Principle covered.” Spike added.

Vinyl crushed the drink can and successfully tossed it into the trash can near the doors.

“Since I got everything set up here, mind if I join you guys?”

“Sure, the more the merrier.” Flash said.

As the four began to make their way toward the gym entrance, Flash’s phone went off. He answered it and put it on speaker phone.

“Hey Dash, what do you…?”

“Flash, get down here right now!”

Shoes squeaked against the floor as the two boys and two girls ran down the hall. Before hanging up, Dash told Flash that she and Flutters were at Principle Tia’s office. Upon arriving, the four saw that the girls were outside of the office and sat down at the chairs near the door were Tia and Luna with bottles of water in hand.

As the group got closer, Twilight saw that the two school officials looked pale. Very pale.

“What happened?” She asked with great concern.

After taking a swig of water, Tia was the first to answer.

“Sunset happened.” She said with a mixture of anger and low energy in her voice. “Derpy came in with the crown as planned and Sunset came in behind, took the crown from her, and put it on.”

Twilight’s eyes went wide.

“What happened next?”

“There’s a camera set up in the office.” Luna answered as she stood woozily. “Because it’s going to take a lot more than words to describe what happened.”

With the help of Spike and Vinyl, they helped the Vice-Principle to her office while Flutters and Dash stayed behind with Tia. Luna’s office was similar to her sister’s, but had a darker atmosphere to it. On the desk were two computers, one a laptop, assumed to be Luna’s personal computer, while the other was a desktop, belonging to the school. On the desktop screen were smaller screens, each one from different cameras from across the school, one of them in Tia’s office.

Luna pulled up what had transpired in Tia’s office earlier, after several clicks, on the screen and clicked play. On the screen were Tia and Luna were in the office looking over papers and conversing, or at least looked like they were, given that there was no audio. Seconds later, the door opened and Derpy entered the room with the crown in hand and the closed the door behind her. After Derpy set the crown down on the desk, the door burst open and their resident fire haired rushed in managed to grab the crown. As Derpy tried to grab the crown from Sunset, she received a hard punch to the eye, causing her to fall to the ground before running out of the room, leaving behind a pair of broken glasses. Sunset put on the crown, which, to everyone watching’s surprise, a dark mist like glow began to come from her eyes as the element on the crown began to glow before her hair looked to turn to fire. Despite the fact that their student just turned into what people say she is, the two still tried to restrain her, but were ultimately dispatched when Sunset grabbed each of them by the throat and a light blue fog came from both of their mouths and into where the crown’s element. The altercation ends with Sunset dropping the two to the floor before strutting out of the room.

“We got to call the police.” Luna said, being the first speak.

“And tell them that an energy sucking demon is running around?” Vinyl asked. “I’m pretty sure they’ll have a hard time believing that.”

“Besides.” Twilight said. “I was the one ordered to stop her. And that’s what I’m going to do.”

“How are you going do that?” Spike asked. “Did you not see what happened?”

Before Twilight could answer, Flash’s phone rang. He saw that it was Rarity and answered it.

“Rarity, some crazy stuff just happened.”

“I was about say the same thing, darling.” Rarity said on the other side of the line. “We found Derpy in the washroom with a black eye.”

“I’m on my way.” He then hung up and re-pocketed the device. “Let’s go!”

“What about Sunset? We need a plan.” Twilight said.

“Think of one on the way.” Flash retorted. “Now come on!”

“Just hold still darling.”

Rarity and Pinkie had found Derpy in the girl’s washroom crying with a swollen eye. Rarity carefully put a small bag filled with ice and wrapped in a towel against Derpy’s eye. Pinkie was the one who had brought these items, when asked she said “the plot demanded it”. Derpy had explained that Sunset had caught up to her had taken the crown and was now on the loose.

“Derpy!”

Flash came running down the hall with Twilight and Spike in toe. Vinyl had stayed behind with Luna. Flash almost slid when crouched down to Derpy’s level.

“Let me see.”

Derpy took the ice off her eye, revealing the dark swelling. She then pulled Flash into a hug and quietly wept.

“It’s alright, Derpy.” He said. “Shh.”

Flash turned to Rarity and Pinkie with fire building in his eyes.

“Where is she?”

“We don’t know right now.” Pinkie said. “I contacted AJ to let us know if she sees Sunset.”

Flash then looked over at Twilight.

“I don’t know what you plan on doing Twilight.” He said. “But it better work.”

It was then that Pinkie’s phone went off.

“Hello?” She said. “Oh, Hi AJ… …where… …okie dokey lokie!”

She then hung up the phone.

“AJ and Scoots found Sunset.” She said. “She’s at the cafeteria.”

“Then let’s go then!” Rarity said. “I’ll contact Dash and Flutters.”

“You guys go ahead.” Flash said. “I need to stay with Derpy.”

“It’s alright Flash.” Twilight said. “At any rate, let’s go get her!”

“I saw her run in here.” AJ explained to the girls. “Not sure why.”

The six girls and Spike found themselves at the cafeteria doors which were wide open. Scoots had left to find Flash and Derpy.

“I’m going in.” Twilight said as she stepped forward.

“We got your back Twi.” Dash said as she and the others followed her.

The cafeteria was dark and all the chairs were staked on the tables.

“Sunset, where are you?” The princess shouted. “I know you’re here!”

There was no answer and the cafeteria remained silent. Until, the flash of flame in the dark caught the girls’ attention.

“Show yourself!”

Out of the kitchen came Sunset, her hair in flame with the crown donned on her head and her eyes filled hate.

“Nice to see you Princess.” She said. “And I see you brought your lackeys as well.”

Twilight took a step forward and extended her hand.

“Give me the crown, Sunset.”

After a moment Sunset began to laugh.

“Do you really think I’ll give you the crown so easily?” She asked. “Honestly, Twilight I thought better of you.”

“The crown isn’t meant for you, Sunset.” Twilight continued. “It never was. Your heart is filled with hate. Something that a true Element of Harmony doesn’t have.”

“Yeah, they are called the Elements of HARMONY.” Pinkie said. “So obviously someone as hateful as you wouldn’t…”

“SHUT UP!” Sunset shouted, with a voice reminiscent of the Canterlot Voice, which caused Pinkie to whimper in terror. “I’m the rightful owner of the Element and that is that! I’m going back to Equestria and you’re not stopping me!”

“If you’re going back to Equestria, then why run here?” Rarity asked. “Wouldn’t run straight for the portal?”

“Looks like the fashion loving bimbo has a decent question for once.” Sunset said, intentionally offending Rarity. “Did you see what I did with Tia and Luna?”

“I did.” Twilight answered. “You stole their energy. How did you learn to do that?”

“I don’t know, I just know.” Sunset answered. “Now speaking of energy. And I believe yours is next on the menu.”

It was at that moment Twilight realized why sunset ran to the cafeteria.

“Run!”

“I can’t believe you insist on coming with me.” Flash said as he, Derpy, and Scoots, still on her scooter, walked down the hall. “Especially with your eye.”

“I’ll be fine. I was a little freaked out before but I’m okay now.” Derpy said, still holding the ice to her eye. “After all, I feel obligated to get back at her for punching me. After all, Exodus 21:24.”

“Eye for an eye.” Flash said, knowing what Derpy was referring to. “Whatever happened to Matthew 5:39?”

“Well I’m not in the mood for getting the other cheek slapped, thank you very much.”

Flash smiled and rolled his eyes.

“I hope the girls are okay.” Scoots said. “After what I heard what happened, I hope they can take on Sunset.”

As they got to the cafeteria, they saw Spike dash out through the doorway with the doors slamming behind him.

“Twilight!” Spike said as he banged on the door. “Twilight!”

“Spike, what’s going on?”

“It’s Sunset, she’s got them all trapped in there.” The former dragon explained. “And she’s going do to them what she did to Tia and Luna! We got to help her!”

Flash quickly approached the door and pulled on it, finding it to be locked.

“Scoots, can you got around back and see if the kitchen door is locked?”

“I will.” Scoots said. “Be right back!”

As the metal legged girl scooted away, Flash approached the door and put hand to it.

“Hang on, Twilight.”

The six girls scattered like a flock of startle birds as Sunset charged at them. With the door locked, that’s all they could do. AJ and Pinkie leaped over tables and chairs, Fluttershy hid under a table, while Rarity and Twilight ran as Sunset was on their tail.

“Twilight what has happened to her?” Rarity asked as she almost stumbled over her own feet.

“I don’t know!” Twilight answered. “My element or any of the other elements have never done this before!”

Suddenly, Sunset threw a fire ball at the two girls. Seeing this, the two flung themselves out of the way, causing the fireball to miss and explode, causing tables and chairs to fly everywhere. Twilight and Rarity hid behind one of the overturned tables.

“What do we do now Twilight?” Rarity whispered. “As far as I’m concerned we’re stuck here.”

“I don’t know, Rarity.” Twilight answered as she peered from their hiding spot. “But I’m more concerned with how to get the crown away from her.”

“But how are you going to do that?”

“I guess I’ll just have to sneak up behind her and …”

Twilight then realized that it wasn’t Rarity or anyone else who asked her. She slowly turned around saw that their hiding spot had been compromised.

“Nice hiding spot.”

The two got up and tried to run, but Sunset managed to grab hold of Rarity’s leg.

“She’s got me!”

Twilight turned around and charged at Sunset, along with AJ and Dash who had come out from their hiding spots. Seeing the three girls
coming at her, Sunset threw a fireball at them, causing them to dodge for over.

“Somebody please help me!” Rarity shrieked. Sunset then turned Rarity around and stared right into her eye and opened her mouth.
“HEEEEELP!”

Before a drop of energy could leave the fashionista’s body, something bounced off Sunset’s head before landed on the floor, revealing it to be a chair.

“GET AWAY FROM HER!”

The thrower of the chair was Spike who was now armed with another chair. He threw a second chair, this one missing Sunset.

“I SAID GET AWAY FROM HER!”

As Spike grabbed another chair, Sunset threw Rarity to the side. Spike then charged at Sunset who ran at him in turn.

“Spike, don’t!” Twilight shouted.

Spike ignored his friend, not breaking stride as he swung the chair at Sunset. She dodged the chair and yanked it out of Spike’s hands, sending it flying to the other side of the room. She grabbed Spike by the arms and slammed him against a table that wasn’t over turned and opened her mouth.

“SPIKE, NO!” Twilight cried as she charged at the fire haired girl.

It was too late as the blue mist of Spike’s energy went from his mouth and into Sunset’s, leaving him pale and limp before tossing him aside like a ragdoll.

Twilight and AJ managed to catch the former dragon.

“Spike! Are you okay?” She asked with horror. “Speak to me!”

Spike could only groan in response before Twilight stared back at Sunset with fire in her eyes.

“Who’s next?” The fire haired girl asked.

Twilight set Spike down carefully before running at Sunset with both her fist clenched and ready for combat. The fire haired girl an at Twilight in return, for the latter to thrust a punch right into Sunset’s face, causing her to stumble before returning the favor, causing Twilight to literally flip end over end though the air before landing on her bottom almost across the room.

Her friends ran to her aid.

“Twilight, are you alright?” Dash asked.

Twilight groaned as she sat up. She then saw Sunset approaching them. Before either side could do anything, someone shouted.

“Get away from them!”

That someone who shouted was Derpy, who had jumped on Sunset, causing her to stumble around while punching her right in the face.
“Payback is a bitch!” She shouted.

Coming to her aid was Flash who practically threw himself at Sunset and managed to grab at the crown and proceeded to yank at it as hard as he could. After several more tugs, the crown slide off, causing Flash to stumble. Sunset managed to throw Derpy off her back and grabbed a hold of Flash who dropped the crown.

“Scoots, now!”

Suddenly their scooter riding friend zoomed out of nowhere, grabbed the crown and threw it at Twilight who managed to catch out of the air.
Switching her focus to the crown, Sunset threw Flash aside and began to build up a fireball in her hand and reared her arm back.

“GIVE ME BACK MY CROWN!”

Sunset then threw the fireball at the six girls. As fast she could, Twilight practically the slammed the crown onto the top her head, right as the fireball exploded, causing half the room to be filled with smoke.

“Twilight!” Flash shouted in horror after seeing the explosion.

He, Derpy, and Scoots began to run towards where the six girls were, but were stopped by the sight of a pink glow that began to be revealed as the smoke started to clear. After the smoke cleared, the six girls are revealed to be alive and well, protectively holding each other in a tight huddle within a large pink bubble with their eyes shut. Upon opening their eyes, they realized that they were still alive.

“What… …what just happened?!” Sunset asked in disbelief.

Twilight smiled and stood up.

“Don’t you see Sunset? You put an Element of Harmony in the same room with the rest of the Elements!” She said proudly. As she spoke, her Element began to glow; causing her to float and the Element began to send orbs of light to each of her friends. “It doesn’t matter what world we’re in! The Elements of Harmony will always be their! Honesty!”

AJ was the first receive an orb of light and started to float with Twilight. As she did so, the hair began to grow longer and longer, making it look like a tail and, to everyone’s surprise, her skin tone turned to the color of orange and a pair of pony ears appeared on her head.

“Kindness! Laughter! Generosity! Loyalty!”

As each name of the Element was called out, each girl transformed just as AJ did. Rarity’s skin turned whiter than usual and her hair turned to a shade of indigo, Pinkie’s turned into her name sake and hair did the same, Flutters’ turned yellow and her hair pink, and Dash’s turned blue and her hair turned into the colors of the rainbow. But unlike the other three, Dash and Flutters grew a pair of wings as well.

“Magic!”

Twilight’s skin and hair turned into the colors of her true self and grew her own pair of wings.

“Together along with the crown, we create a power that is even greater than yours, Sunset Shimmer!” The Princess said. “You may be all powerful right, but we have one power that you never had! The Magic of Friendship!”

The six girls then joined hands as they floated in the air into the shape of a heart in which a large glow of energy began to form until finally, a large orb of energy manifested within the circle in the color of a rainbow and fired directly at Sunset.
