Time has passed since the unlikely events of the Friendship Games. Twilight Sparkle from the human universe had chosen to enroll in Canterlot High and forgave the Shadowbolts for persuading her to abuse the magic she had once acquired during the games. Despite being forgiven, the Shadowbolts (Sour Sweet, Sugarcoat, Sunny Flare, Indigo Zap, and Lemon Zest) still felt a pang of guilt for their actions that inspired Twilight to become...that demon monster they saw before them. Ever since then, they had hoped to find the appropriate way to forgive themselves for their wrong doings.

Recently, reports of gang-related events have popped up in Canterlot. With incidents ranging from illegal drug cartels to mob killings, crime seems to loom around the once peaceful city. The closest thing to the city's savior is a strong-willed and stoic hero who fears not death, as he already crossed paths with it. Someone with nothing to lose nor gain. A man with great combat skills and agile talent.

There is nothing his shanks cannot solve.
