What if Discord had never been their enemy?
An interesting question that Discord decides to find answers to. With the use of Starlight's Spell, plucked from just after her fight with Twilight, he sends a copy of his memories to his past self. This new Discord could have used this knowledge to claim victory over the ponies and harmony, if not for one important revelation:
He made friends.
With a changed heart and all his knowledge of the future, Discord will play a greater part in this version of Equestria's history than he might have intended. Than again, he's playing this mostly by the ear any way, so he's not surprised and very much not complaining.
For better or worse, The King of Chaos is now guarding and guiding ponykind.
