Chapter 58: Someone Wicked This Way Comes (END)

"You know, I still don't get it." Unkeen folded his arms and glared down at the ground with an ethereal fire in his eyes. "Not just that Kin and Gin sold out for that King Void jerk, but that those new Dark Yo-kai are totally stealing our thunder. It just makes me so mad!" He punched the ground, leaving a crack in its' wake.

"Well, hate it or not, it is the truth of the matter." Unpleasant waddled over, staff in his hand. "Though, I must admit that the whole thing is quite an unsettling concept. Kin and Gin might have been evil, but now they're steeped in pure darkness. If it is true that this King Void fellow has control of the Time Witches in the form of two new Dark Yo-kai, then these worlds could soon meet their end rather quickly."

"As much as it might be painful to say this, we're pretty much obsolete now that these Dark Yo-kai are out. There's just no way that the Wicked Yo-kai can compete in this state. Unless..." Unkaind looked back at Twilight, Sci-Twi, and Sunset Shimmer, namely looking closer at their Yo-kai Watches. She scoffed, sticking out her tongue as she thought back to the first time she saw one of those wretched devices and how it thwarted their last plan. "This is such a new personal low for us, having to depend on humans of all things..."

"What other choice do we have, though? The Wicked Yo-kai sure can't handle the Dark Yo-kai, even with our tremendous numbers. And in the case of serving those Yo-kai Watch holders, you can just forget it." Unfairy squeaked, grumbling as the muscles on his forehead convulsed. "Plus, I seem to recall that the last time I got mixed up with humans and those watches, I. Was. FIRED! F! I! R! E! D! Terminated! Out of a job! Cast aside like dirt!"

"And this is different how, Unfairy? If I didn't know better, we're ALL fired after what's been going on." Untidy was the last to add his voice to the conversation. "First, Dame Dedtime gets beaten up by Yo-kai Watch holders. Then, Kin and Gin decide to work for this King Void jerk instead of try and give us a hand. And what about us? We were all just left behind. So what else have we got to lose other than our minds?"

Twilight, Sunset, and Sci-Twi all watched as the Wicked Executives continued their talk; their minds still buzzing after what had happened with King Void descending on Crystal Prep and converting Kin and Gin into Dark Yo-kai. With the stakes stacked higher and higher for them, they needed more Yo-kai allies more than ever, and if battling alongside the Wicked Yo-kai of all things was the way to go about it, then so be it.

Eventually, after all of the talks were said and done, the Wicked Executives broke out of their huddle, turned towards the three teenage girls and took some steps forward. From their hobbled movements and coiled up bodies, it was a sign of their hesitance. And who could blame them? After Yo-kai Watches had evidently destroyed everything that made them who they were, the thought of joining forces with them seemed about as alien as could be. In the end, though, the five of them made the effort and stood before Twilight and her friends.

"Well. We've had a little bit of a... debate. And as it stands, we've decided to draft up this little plan." Unpleasant was the first one to muster up the courage to talk. And as he did, his staff glowed with ethereal energy, causing a whiteboard to appear out of a puff of purple smoke, with detailed sketches akin to those in a business presentation. "You see, we Wicked have been fighting you humans for many years. Ever since the creation of the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero, in fact. We did this to not only cause pandemonium for our own benefits, but also serve a malevolent Yo-kai dealt a rather... unpleasant hand in life. In the end, we never really got anywhere and were overrun by the very Yo-kai and humans that we were so desperate to defeat." He flipped the board over to show another sketch, revealing a cartoonish scribble of the Wicked Yo-kai laid barren at the foot of a human with the Yo-kai Watch.

"And your point is?" Whisper lifted a brow at the Wicked Yo-kai.

"Long story short, cream puff, we've decided to do something we never thought we'd ever do. A merger with Wicked Yo-kai and Yo-kai Watch wielders." Unkaind rolled her eyes. "Though, it's surely going to tarnish our CVs for the next time we want to have a job working for another super-evil Yo-kai who wants to take over the world or cause untold havoc for all..."

"Cream puff? I'll have you know that I'm nothing like those unsightly balls of fluff!" Whisper threw his arms backwards, glaring at Unkaind. "In fact, I have far more class, sophistication, and elegance than any Cream Puff or that overgrown mess of a Yo-kai they all came from!"

"Whisper. Please. Just stop." Jibanyan jumped up, pulled Whisper to the ground and sat on his face. "You're embarrassing yourself here, ya nyaow that?"

"Anyways. What do you mean by a merger?" Sunset Shimmer lifted one of her brows. "Are you talking about doing some fusion or something?"

"What? No! It's business talk. If you ever wanted to get into the world of jobs, then you'd have known that a merger is when two companies decide to agree on something and merge into one. In this case, we want to join forces with you and fight against King Void. Sheesh!" Unkeen boomed loudly. "You'd think that people like you would understand job lingo..."

"Wait. Hold on a second. You want to become friends?" Sci-Twi's eyes widened. "But you and your Wicked Yo-kai were just attacking everyone at CPA! I mean, I know the whole King Void thing happened, but... really? I thought you'd be at least bitter, or have us want to fight you at least."

"Personally, I'd do the same given the long standing history that humans and Wicked Yo-kai have with each other, but as it stands, we're both up a creek without a paddle. And not the good kind of creek where there's something at the end of it." Untidy cracked his knuckles. "But if we do this together, we might be able to salvage something from this mess. Not that I don't like a good mess, but it's still just really sickening that King Void's getting all the fun these days."

"That and you really have to consider this. We are WICKED Yo-kai." Unfairy bounded on the spot. "Under no other circumstances would we ever want to hand over our Yo-kai Medals to someone like you. This is about as lucky as you're gonna get without one of those Noko thingamajigs popping up."

"So the choice is yours, princess. Do you want to add Wicked Yo-kai to your roster of Yo-kai? Same goes for all of your friends as well." Unpleasant reached into her clothes and pulled out a Yo-kai Medal with her body on it. She slid her fingers in a clicking motion, spawning two similar medals next to it. "This is a limited-time offer, after all. And we, much like every business that you might've seen before are making you an offer you can't refuse. No charge as well, because we're not entirely heartless."

"I don't really know about this. It all seems a little bit shady to me." Sci-Twi looked at the black lightning artwork on the medals. Almost none of it seemed optimistic outside of the rim around the edge of the medal.

"Trust me, if we were Shady Yo-kai, you'd be able to tell by the logo at the bottom. There's a fine line between Shady and Wicked, after all." Unpleasant pulled out three of his own medals, laying them out on his free hand. "But, since Unkaind's decided to lay out her end of the bargain, I suppose I should to. As will all of my fellow associates, I'm sure."

"Of course. It's unscrupulous for an honest trade to have some kind of dark undertones." Unfairy rubbed his hands together, producing three more medals of himself. "Now, again. Think about this. You ain't getting this chance again, kiddies."

"The five most powerful Yo-kai in the Wicked repertoire here. Course, I'd settle for nothing but the most powerful Yo-kai ever, but that's just me." Untidy was the next to procure his Yo-kai Medals. He reached into his pants and pulled them out, holding them up to Twilight and the others. "Go on. Have 'em. And don't worry about the smell. Sure it'll come off in a few days. Give or take a week."

Twilight, naturally, did what anyone would do after being given medals from a Yo-kai's pants. She held her nosed and made a gagging gesture with other hand over her mouth.

Unkeen said nothing and just went for his medals. As he held them out, he groaned internally. Now he was going to sell himself out to the very human race that had so desecrated him and his allies. His hand even shook, resisting his own urges to give the medals over to Twilight, Sunset, and Sci-Twi. At last, he caved into himself and held them out, turning away from the others.

"You know, call me crazy, but I think that we should try and take their medals." Whisper finally pulled himself out from Jibanyan's posterior and took a look at each of the medals. "I mean, the more Yo-kai friends that you have, the better. Even if they are... Wicked Yo-kai." He sighed a little bit. "Oh my. That is going to take some time to get used to."

"You can say that again. And again. Wicked and humans working together? Now there's something ya never see." Jibanyan deadpanned. "Still, turning down a Yo-kai Medal's also something I never see so... I dunno. You can take 'em if ya want, Twilight."

"We might as well. Better to have medals on hand than to have none at all." Sunset Shimmer walked up to the Wicked Executives and plucked out one medal from each. "And sure. Just because they're called the Wicked Yo-kai and that they've had a bad rep doesn't mean they're rotten to the core. At least, not anymore, I hope." As Sunset took a closer look at each of the medals, she noticed the foreboding nature of each medal's depiction of each Wicked Executive. The dark colours coupling with their bodies, a true insignia of evil.

"I see this as a tactical advantage as well. To have the underlings of a former villain on our side to battle someone as ruthless as King Void could be a great benefit." Sci-Twi was the next to walk up and take a medal from each executive. She too had the time to take a look at each medal as closely as possible, where she also noticed the malevolent pictures on each. "That being said, I highly doubt that we'll ever need to summon them unless it's a major battle we've got on our hands, but I'm sure that they have their own benefits outside of combat."

"Well, princess? You're next..." The Wicked Executives looked at Twilight with savage grins on their faces, causing her to shiver from head to toe as she gazed at the last medals in their hands.

Twilight was still at a crossroads with the idea of befriending the Wicked Yo-kai. What would the others think of her for having such Yo-kai in her possession after all of the mayhem that they had unleashed on the Yo-kai in the past? How would they be able to help her out in any way? And was there even a reason for them to want to be her friend apart from battling the Dark Yo-kai? As everything began stirring in her mind, she noticed Jibanyan dart towards the Executives and snatch the medals, dropping them into her hands, immediately snapping her out of her train of thought.

"W-w-wait! Jibanyan! I didn't even come up with my own conclusion yet!" Twilight jumped so much that she nearly ended up dropping the new medals onto the ground. Her body rapidly flailed and wiggled as she plucked each medal out of the air, looking like a hunched-over mess when she caught the last one.

"Well, I'd say that our work here is done. Let's bounce." Unkaind watched as all of the other Wicked Yo-kai vanished before her eyes. "Oh, and Twilight? Don't hesitate to give us a call. This little snake here needs her exercise every now and again." Unkaind gave a flirty laugh before she too disappeared before their eyes.

"So... The Wicked Yo-kai. The workers for Dame Dedtime..." Whisper took a turn at examining the medals. "I must say, after everything that I've gone through and all of the masters that I've served as a Yo-kai, I never once expected to see anything as bizarre as this. Well, except maybe a few other things, but that's beside the point."

"I've gotta admit, it's gonna be a bit strange, summoning evil Yo-kai like that. But I suppose that they can't really be as bad as Dark Yo-kai. Right?" Sci-Twi pushed her glasses closer to her face. "After all. It never hurts to have more than one iron in the fire, just like how they said it in my old classes here."

"Yeah. And I guess that you could say that things are about to get a little... wicked." Sunset's eye glinted as she cracked a grin of her own, sliding the medals into her pocket.

Twilight, coiling at the sight of Sunset's snark, leaned closer to Whisper, put a hand by her mouth and whispered, "Whisper? Remind me to order some anti-inspirit charms in case Sunset gets possessed by a Wicked Yo-kai someday, alright?"
