"Though I know I should be wary,
Still I venture someplace scary,
Ghostly haunting I turn loose,
Beetlejuice, Betelgeuse, Beetlejuice!"

The young filly chanted, just before a swirling cloud of darkness swelled up before coalesing into an adult pony with a mottled pale coat and stringy green mane. He wore a black and white pin-striped jacket. The filly smiled at her friend, nudging her black spider-webbed red poncho from under one of her rear hooves.

"Heya Lyds." He said, before looking around the room and noticing all the pink and frilly decorations that had been added since his last visit. "What happened here? Did a hurricane of horrid heave up in here?"

"No, my mother decided that my room needed girlifying. Would you mind helping me fix the decor?" Lydia asked of her friend.

"I'll get this place looking properly creepy in no time at all."

"Thanks B.J. this whole thing isn't making my day any better." she said as she moved to help take down some of the decorations.

"Bad day at school? Lemme guess Claire said some something. Say the word and I'll scare her so bad her mane will turn to snakes." Beetlejuice said as some of his hair turned into a couple snakes which immediately hissed at each other and got into a fight. Beetlejuice got distracted and had to calm them down.

"No thanks, though maybe just prank her enough to turn it white for a few hours." she said before blowing some air out of her nose.

It didn't take long before the room had black walls, with a variety of skulls painted on them. The rest of the decor matched the styling, the large four poster bed had curtains with bats on them, and the room had several black candles sitting around.

"Thanks, so what's been going on in the Neitherworld?" Lydia said before sitting down next to the small table.

"Not much. I turned the wheels of several ponies wagons into centipedes and the council threatened to feed me to the sandworms, so just another Tuesday for me." B.J. replied before pulling a small cockroach from his jacket and ate it.

"Well, it's Friday so you must be behind on your pranking schedule." she replied jokingly.

A few days later Lydia was taking an early morning walk when a small bee flew up to her. At first she tried gently shooing it away before she noticed that it's striping was black and white instead of black and yellow and it had a very familiar face.

"Lyds! You got to hide me." the small bee said.

"What'd you do this time B.J.?" She asked her transformed friend.

"He's returned and if he finds me I'm in big trouble." he replied.

"Who's returned, and why would you be in trouble?"

"The Lord of Lawlessness, the Baron of Bedlam, the Duke of Dis... wait that's his name. Point is that the God of Chaos if free."

"And why would he be after you?" Lydia pressed.

"Well I draw my power from his realm. I figured with him being imprisoned he wouldn't mind me borrowing just a small amount. But he's escaped from a thousand years of being locked in stone." Beetlejuice said, buzzing about as a bee. "You gotta hide me." He said just before landing in her mane.

"Okay, I'll help you but you best be on your absolute best behavior." She stated.

"Deal." came his voice from ontop of her head.

Lydia walked over to a flower stall, picking out one of the small flowers from the side of the stand. She gave a smile at the stall owner who nodded letting her take the flower for free.

She proceeded to walk towards a pole nearby where she could see a small ghost trying to hide behind it. As she did she heard Beetllejuice say something about necter and pollinating before he buzzed over to the flower stall. Lydia placed the flower on the ground next to the pole and watched the spirit leaned down to admire it. It looked up at her and smiled in thanks.

As she started to walk back through town B.J. caught back up to her to hide in her mane again. She noticed an odd stallion in an alleyway. He looked rather normal but his coat have several places where it just changed colours. He had a quizzical look on his face before walking into the side of a building. As he did so his cutie mark, which seemed to be some creature made of random body parts, shifted almost as if waving at her.

She paid it little mind and soon the incident passed from her mind.

Later in the day as the two mismatched friends were having fun when Beetlejuice jerked and then sighed heavily. Seeing the questioning look on Lydia's face he laughed lightly.

"Somehow Discord has been turned back to stone. I should be safe again." He said, before tossing a water balloon far enough to land on an unsuspecting pony.

They laughed as he was hit and got partially soaked. Lydia hefted up another balloon looking for someone to try and hit. She didn't have the arm of her friend but she could get it some distance.

They said their goodbyes a short time later after B.J. escorted her home in time for dinner. She stated his name thrice to send him home before entering her families wildly modified home. She trotted up to her room to wait until dinner was ready to be served. She pondered over what Beetlejuice had told her about the source of his powers and thought about how much control he seemed to have over the chaos magic. She looked over to the large poster of Princess Luna she had put up on one of her walls and thought about what meeting her would be like.

Author's Notes:

Wanted to find a good ponified version of Beetlejuice and Lydia but couldn't find one that felt right.
