In the year 2010 of the Imperial Calendar, the Holy Caballerian Empire declared war on the island nation of Nippony.

Nippony had the richest supply of a miraculous element called ‘sakuradite’, a resource that was integral to recent advancements in military technology. The country was a neutral party caught between three superpowers all vying for a monopoly over the sakuradite. Tired with the unending trade disputes, Caballeria seized the initiative and invaded the Nipponese Archipelago.

The Nipponese Defence Forces were no match for the Caballerian Army. It only took the innumerable soldiers of Caballeria only mere weeks to sweep through to the mainland. In the final, decisive battle of the war, the Caballerians employed a brand-new kind of war machine that used processed sakuradite, the Equine Autonomous Armoured Knight, known as the KnightMare Frame. Alongside the tanks and infantry, aircraft, battleships, and submarines, the KnightMare Frames annihilated the last of the Nipponese military.

Nippony became a dominion of the Caballerian Empire. The country lost it’s identity in blood and fire, it’s name stolen and replaced with a number. Nippony became ‘Area 11’ of the Holy Caballerian Empire. The ponies of this once proud, bastardized former nation had no rights, no power, and no hope, save for one unheard voice amongst the violence and betrayal.

“I swear, I will destroy Caballeria!”
