Chapter 1: Something stirs

Something stirs

In a world between worlds, a space between spaces, there is a small chamber. It has dizzyingly high walls, that are lined with portals to other worlds, until the room is finally capped by a domed ceiling. In the centre of this room is a pillar made of an old yellowing marble, which is laced with various mind bogglingly complicated and ancient magical spells. These, devilishly complicated spells have only one perpose; to contain the creature within the pillar. The creature in the pillar is older than the the stars and older, perhaps than our universes, none may ever tell. It waits inside the pillar, it has waited since time unknown and it is willing to wait until the death of time itself, all it can do now is wait and that is all it will do until the chance arises for it to escape. Escaping may come sooner than expected, for far away in a universe much like the one we know, things have changed and now the once tightly woven spells around the piller become slack and the creature seizes it's moment and begins to break free.

A ripple flowed out from the pillar from the pillar emerged a single yellow claw following it, a toe covered ion deep blue skin and soon an entire creature emerged from the pillar like a body from water. The creature stood tall with humanoid features and bat like wings. Its eyes the darkest of blues with no other colours, the creature bore no hair and lacked a nose or mouth or ears. It rotated its neck and screeched revealing gills on its neck and rows upon rows of teeth in its mouth.

The creature walked towards one of the room's many walls and looked into the world on the other side. There was hill covered in green grass and topped by a small factory and field filled with a breed of albino duck billed platypus. Herding the platypus was a stallion with an orange coat and bright red mane. The rows of teeth in the creature’s mouth curled to form a smile as it walked through the wall and out into the world on the other side.
