Fizzle anxiously bolted through the door as Lavender began stuffing what she could into her bag.

“So are you excited about finally going back?”

“Quite.”

“Lavender…”

“What?”

“You’re doing it again.”

“Doing what my dear?”

“Stop talking like that.”

“But I like talking like that. It’s elegant, it’s formal, it’s…..so not me. Man you stick around those kids as long as I do and you’ll eventually end up talking like that too.”

“Anyway, your trip?”

“Oh yea, I’m so ready to meet up with my parents again. How long has it been, five years now?”

“Yep, five years since we left, five years since we married huh?”

“And a beautiful day that was.”

“Semi-beautiful, semi.”

“Oh don’t be like that, it was pretty awesome to me.”

“Having the bride light a row of candles ten feet in the air as a wedding reception was not awesome to me.”

“Well..”

“You almost burned down the entire place.”

“...Are you gonna keep judging me or help me pack.”

The next 30 minutes, Fizzle and Lavender spent packing her luggage. As they exited the house, Lavender turned away from the direction of the train station. “I have a couple of things to do first.

“Why didn’t you do that before we only have five minutes.”

“I can make it, Rainbow dash taught me how to get things done fast.”

Lavender took off in a burst of speed around a corner making Fizzle put a hoof to his forehead. “No matter how mature she acts, she’s still the same old Lavender on the inside."

After Lavender said goodbye to all her friends, she finally made her appearance at the train station 10 minutes later. There she found her train and on board, Fizzle arguing with the conductor. "Look sir, I can't keep this train docked her any longer I have to get moving."

"If you could hold on for five more minutes I swear she'll be here."

"No way, everypony is getting impatient back there. Either you get off right now, or pay up and take your seat."

"Is there anything I can do to make you wait...oh here she is now."

"So you're the lucky lady who's been holding up this train for the last 5 minutes?"

"I'm terribly sorry sir it's just.."

"Don't wanna hear it, just take your seat already."

Lavender planted a kiss on Fizzle's cheek as she boarded. The horn sounded departure and the train was on it's way. Lavender stared out of the window with her mind to the clouds and her eyes to the snowy scenery. Feels like it's been ages since i saw them. I bet they're still way too happy like they were before. Honestly as sick as it made me, I kinda miss all that. Ah the trouble dad and I would end up in, of course the scolding from mom wasn't worth sneaking into Twilight's library and rearranging all her books. I hope they're waiting right there at the train station for me, don't worry mom and dad, I can't wait to see you too.

The ride seemed to drag on for ages eventually luring Lavender to sleep until the conductor's voice slowly etched into her mind. "...Sto......Last sto.....Last stop for Ponyville."

Lavender dropped out her alluring nap straight onto the ground. She quickly fumbled for her bag and hopped off the train. She held her hoofs out, eyes closed, assuming a hug was in the near future. "Mom! Dad!" She continued to keep her eyes closed for a few moments until finally when no hug was received, she popped them open. There was no one there to greet here, not even Spike's friends. Her expression almost turned to sorrow when her mind forced her back into a sense of happiness. "Maybe they're setting up for a party somewhere. If I know Pinkie Pie, she's probably throwing one for me. Sweet!" Lavender quickly ran towards the rest of Ponyville aiming her sights directly at sugarcube corner. She busted through the door cheering like there's no tomorrow. "Aunt Pinkie Pie!"

Pinkie Pie sat at the counter, eyes closed, deflated hair, and constantly rubbing one spot with a rag. Her eyes only halfway opened to look at her properly named niece. She shot a half smile and returned to cleaning the counter. "Sorry I couldn't really get you anything for your coming home party, it's been.....busy around here."

"But....there's no one here."

"Sure there is." She pointed to Ms. Cake in the back of the shop.

"Pinkie is there something wrong? You're hair..it's deflated."

"I can't talk now, gotta alot of work to do."

With that she vanished into the back of the shop leaving Lavender to wonder. "What just happened? Maybe Fluttershy will know what's going on with her." She quickly made her way to Fluttershy's home, having repeatedly knocked on the door, she only received Fluttershy's cries as an answer. "Fluttershy what's wrong?" Her cries grew louder and louder eventually scaring her animals into a frenzy. On that note, Lavender left before more damage could be done heading over to Applejack's farm next. Big Mac wouldn't even let the Dracony in to see her stating that she was too upset. Same with Rainbow who lay upon a storm cloud sulking. "Ok this is getting weird, someone has got to know what happened."

"I think I can answer that."

Lavender turned to face Twilight, a trusted and loyal friend to Spike. The Dracony examined her closely noting the tear stained cheeks. "You've all been crying for some reason, can someone just tell me already."

"It's best you hear it from Rarity herself."

Lavender and Twilight inched their way to her mom's boutique which was in terrible condition and had a closed sign slapped on it. "Wow, whatever it was must have been bad for mom to just give up on fashion."

As they approached the door, it was slightly cracked open. Twilight gently pushed it open with her hoof and motioned Lavender inside. "You'll find her upstairs."

"Um..ok."

Lavender took tiny steps inside observing the disarray of the shop. String and fabric scattered here and dresses and pony models strolled out there. The shop was a complete disaster to which was uncommon of Rarity's character. She approached the steps and put one claw on the first step. It was cold as if someone hadn't been in the home at all. She took more steps up and found herself at Rarity's door, a cold and dense atmosphere dropping over here like a veil. The young Dracony creaked the door open and peered inside. There was Rarity, sitting still as stone in her bed. "Mom..."

"The covers shifted for a minute, until Rarity poked her head out. "Lavender D...Darling is that you?"

"Yes mom, I'm back."

"Oh honey you must let me see you."

"Can't you get up?"

"It's...momentarily out of the question." Lavender stepped to the side of the bed as Rarity reached to hug her. "Oh how you've grown."

Lavender enjoyed the hug while she could before realizing what changes her mother has undergone. "Mom! What happened? Your beautiful glowing appearance is so messed up. Seriously why are you so dark?"
Sad Rarity

"Well see here dear, there's something....important I need to tell you."

"Don't stall mom, everyone's been on the edge for some reason and I would just love to know why."

Though her body was weak, Rarity escorted Lavender down to the kitchen and sat her down. "I want you to do your best to understand what happened, please no tantrums or breaking my house, alright?"

"Yea sure, come on please tell me."

"Hehe, as impatient as always I see but this might be information you might want to recollect yourself for.......Me...and...your father..."

"Mom?"

"Me.. and your father have decided to take a break....it's possible a finalized divorce may be in the future."

Lavender jumped out of her seat in anger and in sadness. "What! no no no no no, this can't be happening. How can you be breaking up!" Rarity gasped as her fist ended up the ground creating a perfect hole.

"Dear there was nothing we could do to avoid this."

Lavender returned to her chair and firmly pointed at her mother. "I..I want to know what happened...Right now."
