Ember comes to Equestria to learn more about what ponies do, and Spike is ready to help. Rarity, however, is feeling unusally upset about this and must try to figure out her feelings for her friend.

A month has passed since Princess Ember has become the new Dragon Lord. She has worked hard to change the way dragons are by passing on what her first friend, Spike, has taught her. Despite her best efforts, some dragons are not ready to embrace the new changes and it has Ember frustrated.

When she receives a call for help from Twilight about her concern with Spike, she decides to take this time to not only see her friend she can't stop thinking about, but to also improve dragon and pony relations by heading over to Equestria herself to learn more about ponies.

While Spike and his friends are happy to welcome the new Dragon Lord, Rarity is feeling upset about how her long time dragon friend has obsessed with Ember. Rarity is now facing a crossroads about her true feelings about Spike and what he is to her.

As tensions start to mount between Rarity and Ember over Spike, it threatens the already fragile pony and dragon alliance made by Spike. But the tension between these two have caught the attention of a certain dragon that is more than determined to destroy everything Ember has worked for.
