As day broke along the horizon, everyone on board the airship was wide awake, ready to end this long war against despair once and for all. Everything was all set to lure Sin out of hiding, the crew taking their places on the vessel as the others on the bridge were psyching themselves up for the deadly encounter with Sin. This was it. This was the day Sin will finally fall, no longer making it come back to haunt the world and kill more than it already has.

Rainbow looked back at the others, ready as they'll ever be for the toughest fight they'll ever have to endure. "Let's do this."

On the controls, Limestone began playing the Hymn of the Fayth, the song playing inside the airship. She routed the speakers to the ones outside and cranked up the volume, those anywhere near the vicinity of the airship as it flew over the land looking up at the machina vessel in shock.

"Hope everypony gets the message," Applejack hoped, knowing word can travel fast in Spira, like Fluttershy and Blueblood's marriage.

Maud steered the ship around, alerting everyone down below to let them sing along. After a while, the plan seemed to work as everypony down in Spira began to sing, having gotten the message. Then, out in the ocean, near the Calm Lands, Sin popped up from the water, hearing the strange music like the curious beast it was.

"There he is," Rainbow whispered, ready to get her father out of that gigantic shell of a creature.

"How exactly are we supposed to enter Sin? If we go in its mouth, it might eat us," Twilight worried as Mog bounced around, punching its paws at the air, battle ready despite being the size of an ant compared to Sin.

"We'll blow a hole in that thing," Cid cackled, a dangerous glint in his eye. "We got ourselves a powerful machina that we've been fixing up for the longest while. And it's attached to this airship. It's gonna let out a big blast that can easily rip open a new mouth!"

"Daddy, don't go firing it off like crazy!" Pinkie scolded, sighing as she shook her head. "And everypony thinks I'm insane."

"Let's head on up to the deck and see if everypony's singing." As the party began to head up, Cheese stopped the pegasus before she left with the others.

"Fyed." The Al Bhed cleared his throat as he wanted to say something to Rainbow Dash. "...You...Protect...Pinkie...Or else...I shoot you...out cannon."

"...Heh. Now worries there, buddy. Pinkie can handle herself fine." Cheese leered at her, being completely serious. "Don't worry. Nopony's dying today."

Rainbow Dash hurried up to the upper deck where the others waited for her, hearing all of Spira singing along to the Hymn of the Fayth playing on the airship. "Wow! I can hear them! Everypony's singing!"

"I can't believe it really worked," Twilight uttered as she couldn't believe her ears.

While lost in awe at the song's powerful effect, Rainbow Dash walked over to the edge of the ship, pulling out Fluttershy's sphere, her final words to her guardians. She turned around and held it up.

"Hey, Fluttershy! You won't be needing this, right!?" The summoner looked over to her, shocked to see her sphere in Rainbow's hoof as she felt around her clothing. She didn't even notice it was missing after being pounced by Pinkie back on Mt. Gagazet. "No need for a will if we're going to live, right?"

Without needing her permission, Rainbow Dash threw the sphere out into the sky, watching it fall through the clouds as it would hit the ground down below. Fluttershy was actually glad that her sphere wasn't heard by the others, not wanting to make herself look sorry while she said everything she wanted to her family. Suddenly the airship began to shake as the air around them began to blur, nearly knocking everyone over.

"Uh oh!" Applejack said as she saw Sin was flying in the air as a massive ball of gravitational energy began to form in front of its face. "This ain't good! What's it doin'!?"

As Sin began charging the powerful sphere building up, it unleashed a shockwave that knocked the party to the deck of the ship, the gravity suddenly turning heavy. Sin rose its head up and let out a powerful roar as it began pulling in everything close to it with the gravitaitonal pull it had in the orb. The clouds spiraled around it like a funnel, and it even pulled the moon closer to the planet with the amount of force the fiend was able to unleash. With its powerful spell fully charged, it unleashed that energy, sending a few smaller orbs shooting out around it, shifting the earth and the water they passed through.

The gravity lightened a back to normal as everyone shakily stood up, seeing what damage Sin was able to pull off with its unleashed potential it had been holding back. They gasped in shock as they saw one of the orbs' trails, having created a cylindrical tube of demolished earth, curved water from the ocean, even the clouds were punctured by the attack.

"Holy moley..." As Pinkie looked down the destructive trail, she pulled out a pair of binoculars, zooming in on the carnage. She gasped as she saw explosions of water coming toward them, coming back toward Sin as the endless chain of blasts got closer. "Maud! Move the ship!" She leaned over the side and planted her face on the window where the bridge was. "MOVE THE SHIP!"

The torrents of water being blown up by the aftershock reached the nearby land, the explosions more dangerous as they got closer. The airship was unable to fly back in time as the others were buffeted by the force and knocked unconscious. Inside, the crew panicked as they were rocked around by the explosions, Cid, his daughters inside the bridge, and Cheese Sandwich hanging on for dear life as the ship was pulled closer to Sin.

"If I could curse, I'd use every curse word known to pony kind!" Cid shouted as he struggled to stay on his hooves. While being wracked by the explosions, the stallion saw a small gleam coming from Sin around its long fin-like arms, the sun reflecting off of something attached to it. "What the hay?"

A while later, everyone on the top of the airship groaned as they woke up, miraculously unharmed after being in close proximity to the explosions caused by Sin's powerful gravity defying attack. Rainbow Dash sat up, shaking her head as she wound up near the front of the ship. As soon as she looked up, she was mere inches from Sin's face, the fiend growling menacingly as it was very close to the airship.

"So, you finally decided to stay and fight like a stallion this time, huh, dad?" Rainbow whispered, standing up with her sword at the ready. "Let's do this."

"Hey! Everypony, I saw something shining near Sin's arms! It might be a weakspot!" Cid announced over the intercom.

"Vydran, we have a problem," Maud said as her monotone voice could be heard on the intercom.

"Maud, for goodness sake! Can you please show some other emotion!? I swear, all my fillies each have their own personal emotion they were born with, and you show nothing! And you're the oldest!" Pinkie nodded, agreeing with her sisters each having a certain emotion as soon as they were born.

"We're being pulled in by Sin. We can't pull out." Silence was all that was heard as the stallion on the bridge went quiet.

Just as Maud had said, the ship began to be pulled in hard by Sin's gravitational pull, sending the group trapped on the upper deck as they hung on for dear life. The airship was pulled up to the left side of the massive fiend, very close to its left fin. As Cid had alerted them earlier, there was indeed something that was near the base of its fin. It was a purple gem that glowed brightly, an obvious weak spot.

"I think we see that shining thing, Cid!" Rainbow said.

"If it can weaken Sin, then we have a better chance of getting inside of it," Rarity said, carrying her katana over her shoulder. "Let's destroy them before Sin can destroy us!"

Before they could attempt to attack Sin's arm, the fiend smacked its shoulder into the airship, sending a shockwave that threatened to push everyone off and falling to their deaths. Not going to take that risk, all of them attacked using their weapons and skills they know. Rarity charged her magical aura, turning red as she charged first, her katana slashing through the weak point as it eradicated what armor was surrounding the vulnerable gem. With its defenses weakened, Rainbow, Pinkie, and Spike rushed in, hacking, slashing, and thrusting away to shatter the vulnerable spot.

As they were getting close to destroying it, the gem began blinking rapidly as the air around them began to grow heavy. "Oh crud! What's happening!?" Rainbow asked.

"It's about to use that same gravity spell it used earlier!" Twilight groaned, unable to stand from the increasing weight falling down on her.

"Dad, get us out of here before we get turned into pancakes! And I don't want to be a Pinkie Pancake! I'm a Pinkie Pie!" Pinkie shouted.

"Hang on! We're pulling back!" Staying low to avoid flying off, the airship pulled back, though still caught in the gravitational hold around Sin, keeping them from escaping from it.

They managed to escape just in time as they saw a powerful black sphere around Sin's arm, shoving the air around it down hard around it. "That was close. We need to stay far away from Sin."

"Twilight, the rest of us have weapons designed to get up close and personal," Rainbow said, swiping her blade around. "The only way we could safely break that thing without getting knocked off or crushed is with your magic, Fluttershy using her aeons, and Applejack's blitzball!" The pegasus did a double-take after mentioning Applejack's long range weapon, grinning as she got an idea. "Hey, AJ? Feel like teaming up and dealing some damage?"

"...Ah think Ah get what ya mean. First one to break the crystal wins?" Applejack goaded the pegasus.

"You're on!" Putting away her sword, the two blitzball players readied themselves as Applejack threw the ball hard, smacking it into Sin's weak spot.

The ball ricocheted back to the ship, Rainbow Dash running forward and kicking it hard, sending it flying back and hitting Sin again. Then Applejack hit it and the two alternated, smacking the blitzball around back and forth as they wanted to break the crystal before the other could. Twilight shook her head, Mog mimicking her annoyance as the two were busy competing in a dangerous situation.

"Of course. Just make fighting the most dangerous monster in all of Spira a game, where our lives depend on saving us all from a thousand years of suffering." Twilight leapt back as Rainbow Dash moved back to knock the ball high in the air, leaping after it to perform the Jet Shot. "Ok, that's it! This isn't a game, you two!"

"Actually, Twilight, this is a game," Pinkie interjected, standing next to Twilight as she watched. "Actually, it's a story FROM a game where we're actually taking place as the roles of the major characters. Many details might be altered a little bit, especially a lot of backstory for us and other ponies that either played an important role in Spira's history, making it more sad and feeling pity for the unfortunate-"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, Pinkie. I'm ending this before their friendly competition winds up costing us our lives!" As Pinkie pouted at her, not even listening to a word she said, Twilight began charging her powerful black magic spell she had learned as a filly, but was unable to cast.

Taking in a deep breath, she poured enough mana into the spell and unleashed its power. As the sphere surrounded the small section of Sin's arm, the explosions caused Rainbow Dash to miss her kick, sending her spinning wildly as she fell to the airship in a crumbled heap. Applejack grabbed her blitzball before it rolled off, not wanting to lose her only means of defending herself. After the Ultima spell ended, they all heard a loud crack as the weak point was destroyed, leaving Sin's left arm useless.

"D-Did I break it first?" Rainbow asked in her daze.

"Alright! Now, let's use the machina and blast that thing sky high!" The airship turned around as the front end faced the fiend, a pair of large, cannon-like needles jutting out from the vessel. They began charging up with electricity, the current running up and down the prongs faster and faster. Cid's laughter, now turning maniacal, was heard on the intercom. "Let's see what this puppy can do! FIRE!"

The ship rumbled as the new weapon fired off a powerful bolt of lightning at Sin, aimed right in the same spot where the crystal used to be. It managed to pierce through Sin's body and actually ripped off its left fine, sending the piece of it falling to the ocean beneath it.

"Whoa. That came from the ship?" Fluttershy stared in awe, astonished at what the machina was able to do unlike the ones that almost breached Sin's barrier in Operation Mi'ihen.

"Ooooooh yeah...That felt gooooooooood!" Cid moaned, almost sounding like he was enjoying it too much. "Time for the other side! Break it! Break it! Break it!"

"And there goes my dad being a weirdo again," Pinkie sighed, everyone holding on tight as they flew off to the right side of Sin, spotting the same colored gem near the base of the remaining arm.

Using the same tactics as before, they stayed clear enough away when the powerful gravity crushing spell charged up to unleash itself on them. While far away, Twilight cast her magic, though with how much Ultima needed so much mana, she had to be careful not to overdo it. While close, they had to stay close to Sin when it slammed into the airship with its right fin to avoid getting blown off. Eventually, they broke the second gem and pulled far enough away to shoot off its other limb.

"Yeah! Let's have ourselves some barbecued fish tonight!" Cid shouted as the main guns zapped the other arm off. "More! MORE! Let's blow open a new blowhole in that giant whale!"

"Vydran, dra syeh kih ec picdat! Ed lyh'd vena ykyeh!" Limestone said through the intercom.

"Wait, what!? What do you mean it's busted!?" Cid tried to fire up the gun again, only to have the powerful machina weapon sputter. "...Son of a...Alright, you guys get back inside! We need another plan!"

"No way!" Rainbow argued. "We're going in! We've got the ball now! I'm not going to lose the chance to score the winning goal!"

"...Alright! Whatever you say!" Maud maneuvered the airship over Sin, where they could see another gem, this one bigger as the main core on the outside of the massive beast.

"Move it or lose it, everypony!" Pinkie bounced over the edge and dove down on top of Sin, the others following after her, leaving Rainbow Dash behind as she shook her head.

"And everypony thought I always jumped the gun." The pegasus ran off and dove after her friends, the non-pegasi bouncing on Sin's rubbery skin as they face the core.

Unfortunately, it wasn't defenseless as a Sinspawn, similar to the strange shell one back on Kilika waited for them. Since this one was still attached to Sin, it was far stronger than its predecessor. If it was like the other one, the Twilight's magic would be useless to strike the core if it could absorb her black magic. The fiend popped out of its shell, screeching at them, leaving it open to attack. Rainbow Dash held back, her weapon unfortunately a water elemental weapon thanks to Pinkie's fiddling with it in Guadosalam since it was a plant-like fiend, but it didn't matter. The rest of the group took it down with no trouble, avoiding its poisonous tentacle fingers as Rarity, Spike, and Pinkie rushed it while Twilight cast Firaga and Applejack attacking from long range.

With the Sinspawn gone, there was nothing standing in their way, the core vulnerable to attack. It wasn't long before they managed to destroy the final core, avoiding getting crushed by the Gravity spell it would have unleashed as they shattered the weak spot. Sin let out a low groan as it began to plummet to the ground, the party quickly leaping off of it and landed back on top of the airship as it came around to catch them. Sin hit the ground hard, near Bevelle, possibly horrifying everypony in the city as they saw it crash near them.

As the group hurried back inside, they saw Sin on the sphere feed as it began to stir. "Great job! Sin's down and out!"

"No it's not. We need to take out Sin from the inside! Faust is who we're supposed to be dealing with!" They soon heard Sin groan loudly as it stood up on its hind legs, now sprouting out wings on its back. "It's not over yet. We've just started, and Faust is desperate to keep fighting on the outside."

"Darn it. There's no time to work on the main gun and repair it," Cid said as he was in tears. "Two shots and it craps out on us! It's the best machina ever, and it sucks!"

"Let's hurry back up to the deck!" The party ran back to the upper deck as they arrived in time to watch Sin leaping up onto Bevelle's palace, hovering down on its new roost as it looked in the direction of the airship.

Rainbow flew on ahead while Fluttershy summoned Bahamut to help aid the cyan pegasus attack Sin's face head on, while only Twilight and Applejack could deal whatever they could from the distance they were from Bevelle. Sin wasn't doing much to defend itself as Rainbow and the dragon aeon attacked it, though they didn't seem to be doing much to it, even with the help of magic and Applejack's blitzball flying in and smacking it on the snout. It let out a roar and began sucking the airship closer to it, shoving Rainbow hard onto Sin's face from the powerful pull.

"Darn it! Just! Give! Up!" Rainbow shouted, stabbing her sword in Sin several times.

Sin pulled the airship closer and closer until its nose was against the bow of the airship. Now that they were close enough, Pinkie, Rarity, and Spike could finally attack it head on with Rainbow Dash. While trying to weaken Sin with everything they got, it began to slowly open its mouth, charging its powerful beam it used in Operation Mi'ihen, only this time, it wanted to make sure it killed them and then some.

"Not cool. Not cool! NOT COOL!" Pinkie said, her hooves a blur as she scratched Sin's nose, only making it feel like a small itch to the fiend. "Kill it! Kill it with fire! Ice! Lightning! Drown it! Blow it up before we get blown up!"

With none of them making any progress, Sin's mouth began to open wider, the ball of energy slowly growing inside its maw. Rainbow Dash flew back down to the airship, running out of time before they, along with the airship and possible a majority of the land would be eradicated into nothing. Holding her sword tightly in her mouth, she felt powerful energy flowing through her body as she unleashed her Overdrive. She flared out her wings, and rushed Sin's face, slashing it repeatedly, ending her combo with a double slashing backflip and slamming her sword down on it.

Rainbow stabbed her sword in the airship and leapt off of it. "AJ! Toss your blitzball!"

Having no clue what Rainbow Dash was doing, Applejack threw her blitzball up at the pegasus as she flipped backwards at a rapid pace. Time slowed down around the pegasus, the ball right where she wanted it to be as she glared at Sin. Her back hooves glowed brightly as she aimed her shot, kicking the ball hard, sending it flying at Mach 5 speed into Sin. As the blitzball connected, it created a powerful blast of prismatic light and energy, a roar of pain coming from the fiend as the explosion caused a rainbow mushroom cloud to fly up from the impact.

Rainbow's powerful Overdrive caused the airship to fly back a little and nearly knocked the others over from the shockwave it produced. Sin roared in agony with its mouth open, but the energy forming in its mouth morphed from a charged beam to some sort of portal, the fiend remaining motionless as it was rendered unconscious, surprisingly. The cyan pegasus flew back on the ship and grabbed her sword, holding onto Applejack's blitzball.

As she turned to look at the others, she held back a snicker, her attack having blasted the mares' manes back from the shockwave her attack unleashed. "Uhh...oops?"

"Do it again! I wasn't looking!" Pinkie complained, her poofy mane now spiky and sticking out behind her head.

After taking a small break from surviving a deadly encounter with Sin, and winning, everyone stood on the airship as Maud carefully drove the airship toward the unconscious beast, its mouth wide open with a glowing light seeping out from its maw. Now it was time to get to Faust and enter inside of Sin, some of them hoping they weren't going to go through the fiend's intestines. While they waited in anticipation, Fluttershy stood next to Rainbow Dash, still worried about what her marefriend was hiding.

"Rainbow Dash?" The cyan pegasus looked over at Fluttershy. "What's going to happen?"

"We're gonna win, that's what," Rainbow replied.

"I meant about the fayth...I know Bahamut said we should call them all when we confront Faust...but what if Faust takes one of them?" Fluttershy asked.

"Then we'll have to take them down too." Fluttershy fidgeted in place, afraid to ask Rainbow Dash what she's hiding.

"...What did Bahamut mean...when he said they wanted to stop dreaming?" Rainbow gently rested a hoof on the summoner's shoulder.

"They've been dreaming for a thousand years. They're getting sick of dreaming. So we're going to help them finally rest and end all this...along with their dream..." Just from hearing Rainbow's tone, Fluttershy was afraid to know if what she thinks is really going to come true.

She trusted Rainbow Dash with all her heart, believing in her no matter what others think of her. She stayed loyal to her, she never ran from a fight, and she was willing to help others, no matter how dangerous the situation. Ever since the pegasus had found out about the truth about her pilgrimage and her passing out on Mt. Gagazet, she was scared of something, and she couldn't tell Fluttershy or anypony what it was. Was Rainbow Dash an unsent too? Did she do something horrible that nopony else knew about?

Fluttershy shook those thoughts aside, knowing Rainbow would never betray anyone. She stopped worrying as they began to enter Sin's mouth, flying through what seemed like multiple realms almost reminiscent to the Farplane. As peaceful as the flight seemed, the party heard a familiar chuckling echo around them as a small glimpse of a certain stallion they didn't wish to see again appeared in front of them.
