Hello to any reader, this is my first story I've made so don't expect it to be amazing.
This story is dark and does contain some gore but not a lot.

Please criticize about things you don't like.

I'll mainly use the author notes to explain some things that might have been unclear in the chapter.

This story deals with a lot of military sort of stuff but I'm not in the military so if I get something wrong please tell me, same with anything else that I get wrong

"I was just a little filly 6 years of age about 50 miles southeast of the crystal empire when King Sombra attacked. My people had no chance against his army of enslaved crystal ponies. Not one pony escaped the attack and we were enslaved ourselves."

"Hey, at least no pony was killed right." said a bright orange pony with a faded yellow mane

"I wish that were true."

"Oh... I'm...sorry to hear that" the two of us just sat for a while until I broke the silence.

"I guess your story of how you were captured is about the same?"

He replied "yeah about the same except my town is about 90 miles to the west...close to Galloping Gorge."

The stallion said "the names Thunder Forest...what's yours?"

"My name is Lunar Aurora."

"Must be cool being a unicorn."Thunder Forest said.

"Yeah but we don't have the strength of you earth ponies."

We fell silent when we both heard hoof steps approaching. A masculine stallion with a light grey coat and dark grey mane rounded a corner and approached us, he was a I noticed his badge as brigadier general, his low and slightly scratchy voice spoke out " have you two spotted anypony?"

Then I spoke "No sir, we have not spotted anypony in the vicinity."

The General then said "good I don't want to kill any more ponies for King Sombra...Just wish I could go back and fight for Celestia."

Thunder Forest blurted out "If Sombra finds out about you saying that he'll kill you on the spot with his dark magic...I herd he knows some spells that causes a slow and incredibly painful death"

The general replied "I know what he will do, it's dishonorable to fight against your own nation...you two want to escape Sombra's grasp?"

Thunder Forest quickly said without thought "HELL YEAH!"

I hesitated thinking that if I were to say yes, I would be killed on the spot but I decided that evening if I was, I would rather die than work for Sombra. "yeah, I'm in" I said gently nodding

The General then responded "well I used to live here in Fillydelphia...before the war, so I know this place like the bottom of my hoof. but I can't do it alone, what do you say?"

I said "I'm definitely in."

While we were walking through the empty streets of Fillydelphia the general said "In case you were wondering my name is Wind Breaker."

Thunder Forest said "Good to meet you Wind Breaker."

We all quietly walked through the empty city for quite a while until Wind Breaker spoke "I know a good resting spot nearby this area."

Thunder Forest said "yeah...I could definitely use a break right now, my legs are killing me."

We approached a large house and Wind Breaker sighs with a small smile and says "this used to be my home when I was a young colt. we can rest here for a while."

We entered the home and everything was covered in a thick layer of dust like no pony has been here in years.

Wind Breaker said "well it's not exactly like I remember it with all this dust."

"Its better then the place we were stationed at." I said

"If I remember correctly the guest rooms should be upstairs and to the left" said Wind Breaker.

Thunder Forest quickly started climbing the stairs as he said "I hope I get to sleep somewhere more comfortable than a stone ground."

When he got to the first door to the left he slammed it open and threw himself on to the bed with a sigh of relief and quickly fell asleep.

I opened the next door and approached the bed, I climbed in it and I was in its soft embrace.

Then I found myself in a more familiar home and pones "mom...dad y...your alive?" they didn't show any hint that they noticed I was here. Then one of Sombra's slaves burst in through the door and had a spear.

My mother started yelling at the pony and approached them. The pony jabbed at my mother and a pool of blood formed around her hooves.

My father punched the crystal pony with all his strength which caved in the ponies skull. My father rushed towards my mother and lifted her head.

my father spoke with her but I couldn't make out what they were saying.

When my mothers head grew limp and her eyes slowly fell shut He slowly stood up, walked over to the crystal pony and took the spear lying next to the body.

Then he just walked to the still open door and looked behind himself and said something. he then exited through the door and later I heard screams of pure rage from I can only guess my father mixed with other screams of terror. eventually the screams of rage abruptly ended.

I looked to the left of me and saw...I saw myself...but as a little colt at the age of 4 or 5 looking just as shocked as I was.

Then two more crystal soldiers entered and slowly approached young me.

Then my (colt me) horn began to glow with magic and an aura started to envelop both of the ponies and started flying but they were earth ponies and suddenly they flung violently and smashed into the walls and ground.

My ,again colt me, eyes began to glow white and mane and tail turned into a flowing indigo aura with what looked like stars inside it.
It looked familiar I think I've seen it in an old book a bit before Sombra.

"HEY WAKE UP! COME ON THERE ALMOST HERE!"

I jerked my head up and just sat there still in shock but I snapped myself out of it and saw Thunder near the bed looking like he just saw a ghost. "whats going on?"I said still very tired.

"WIND BREAKER BETRAYED US AND GOT A PATROLLING SQUAD OF SOMBRA'S SOLDIERS COMING HERE RIGHT NOW TO CATCH US!"

My eyes were wide open after Thunder told me what was going on. I quickly got up and we went down the stairs but I tripped and tumbled down the stairs. "COME ON GET UP!" Thunder yelled

He opened the front door and rushed outside and I followed after I got up. "oh no" Thunder said

I turned to look where he was looking and saw a group of 13 crystal solders and a grinning pegasuses named Wind Breaker."RUN!" I yelled

We both turned and ran in the opposite direction of the squad.

Then one of them yelled "HALT!"

Then Wind Breaker called out "there's no hope of you two escaping, just give up."

Then two unicorns in the group teleported in front of us.

I levitated a nearby rock and threw it at one of them with great force. The rock hit the pony I was aiming for, they fell and stopped twitching shortly after.

I picked up another rock and threw it at the other but he quickly teleported a few feet away so the rock would miss.

shortly after the other unicorn's horn started to glow and shot a spell at Thunder. he grew limp and fell to the ground with a loud thud

While watching thunder hit the ground I forgot to watch where I was going and tripped on the body of the lifeless unicorn.

The others quickly caught up to me and one tried to jab a spear at me but I tore it out of his hooves with my magic and tried to keep them back but they surrounded me and occasionally struck out at me covering my body with painful cuts and bruises.

I used my magic to teleport out of the circle and making sure they don't surround me again.

Suddenly one charged at me and I positioned the spear pointing towards him but he didn't stop and the blade went through his throat and spine.

Another one charged and I used my magic to throw him back but put too much force into it and sent him flying through a brick wall. As they were looking at the new hole I quickly turned around and ran, soon after I felt a sharp pain travel throughout my back and the unknown force locked me to the ground.

"You thought I was actually going to help you escape? This was all just a test of your loyalty towards King Sombra...and unfortunately you failed."

The pony talking turned me onto my back and as I thought it was Wind Breaker, surprised he didn't break my back with that dive. "Now both you and your petty little friend here will be killed by the hooves of Sombra himself."

I managed to get a hold of a brick from the crumbled wall with my magic but he noticed my horn glowing looked up and caught the brick and bashed me in the head with it.

As I gained consciousness I heard that the rattling of a wagon then I was tossed in the air and realized i was chained up in that wagon.

I lifted my head, which was still in pain from that brick, I looked around taking in my surroundings and the first thing I notice is the corpse of a unicorn with small chunks of a rock stuck in there mangled face. the next thing I notice is two other corpses, the entire cart was filled by pool of blood, and then I finally notice Thunder Forest also chained up "you're alive?" I asked

"Why did you...oh...no that was just a spell to make me lose consciousness. hit my head pretty hard though."

"Yeah I saw...felling ok?"

"Bit of a headache but otherwise I'm fine...how about you?"

"Back still hurts from Wind Breaker doing a dive."

"Ouch, that must have hurt."

I sat up and looked around and saw a tall crystal building in the distance "well there's the crystal empire. guess we don't have much longer to live."I said

"Hope our death isn't too painful... why did Wind Breaker have to do this?"Thunder said

"After you were knocked out by that spell he told me it was all a test to see how loyal we were."I responded

We watched as the crystal empire's new walls made from black crystals grew closer until we got to the gates.

The wagon was pulled through the city, most of the previous buildings have been demolished and replaced by barracks,
training grounds, and infirmary's, the ones that still stand were repurposed for food storage and other things.

The wagon pulled to a stopped and somepony opened the back of the cart. He then said"Get out." both me and Thunder complied to the pones demands "Follow me to the dungeons...you will remain there until Sombra decides what to do with you two scumbags."

We followed the pony to the dungeons without any complaints because we knew if we complained we would be given a more painful death.

Unfortunately I witnessed the death of a pony that never stopped complaining and I still remember her violet coat and a purple
with a...kind of hot pink stripe down her mane, I think she was another unicorn. The way she screamed gave me nightmares for the next few days.

When we got to our cell the escort threw us into the cell, slammed the door shut and walked away. Thunder's ears were angled towards the direction the pony went, after we couldn't hear there hoof steps anymore Thunder was immediately at the door trying to tug it open

"Thunder there's no use, those bars will not budge no matter what you do."

"What about magic? I think that should do something."

"I'm not that strong of a magic user."

"You crushed in a fully grown stallion's skull in with a single throw."

"Of a rock, rocks are not soft...you should know that cause you've used one as a pillow for a week straight, not to mention all the complaining"

"You can at least try." Thunder mumbled

"Fine" I tried to channel all my magic to my horn to make it as powerful as possible. My horn started faintly glowing my magic formed into a ball near the bars but for some reason it was much harder than I remember. Then the magic sphere fizzled out and so did my horn "that's strange"

Thunder asked "what's wrong?"

"I...I can't use my magic." then i noticed the thing gripping my neck wasn't only to limit my mobility with more chains but there was a small socket with a gem in side it and it had a small but tough magic shield protecting it.

"And they put a collar on me to prevent the passage of magical energy...that's just perfect." I said sarcastically

"Well that ruined the plan I made"

"You already had a plan?"

"Hell yeah, I don't do anything without a plan"

"What about opening a pickle jar?" I asked sarcastically

"Hey...pickle jars are hard to open with hooves" he snapped back

"Well what's the new plan?"

"Don't have one. maybe after a while I can make a new one...say, you got any dental floss on you?"

Then I noticed somepony standing outside the cell with a white coat and mane which gradually changed into an icy blue towards the tips and had a lieutenant general badge "h...how did you...use any magic...wi...with the collar." they were in absolute shock I just hope they
were too shocked and didn't hear us talking about plans. then they started walking away but stumbled and almost fell but caught them self.

We sat for a bit making sure they didn't get the guards. "What was the spell you were conjuring up anyway?" Thunder asked

"It was a bomb...I was going to to put a magic shield up to contain the explosion, focus it around the bars and to muffle the sound"

After several days and several failed attempts, but never caught except for that one time.a pony walked up to the cell door, unlocked it and opened it "it's time for your judgement...follow me.

We were escorted to a large room where King Sombra himself sat high above us on his fancy chair. The pony shoved us into two separate cages, the cold steel sent a shiver down my spine. Then a blinding light shined on both of us so we couldn't see Sombra anymore.

"My lord" I turned to see who was speaking and sure enough it was Wind Breaker "I found these two trying to escape in the city of Fillydelphia."

Then a deep and menacing voice spoke "Why didn't you deal with them yourself?"

"We...well my lord the unicorn here is stronger than he appears...he managed to kill one of the unicorns in the squad and two other soldiers...lavan show the lord."

A pony with a shiny black mane and coat with what looked like cracks of seeping lava and with the badge of a Brigadier general threw down a bag and out spilled the unicorns corpse, two other ponies approached both with a large bag. They more gently laid the bags down and took out the other two bodies.

"There is some evidence of what they did my lord." Wind Breaker later stepped down from a small pedestal in the center of the room when he couldn't think of anything else to say.

Then the pony that we saw outside our cell a while ago stepped up and spoke "My lord, the unicorn is much stronger than any other I've seen...he was able to use magic with the collar on...only something you, Celestia, and Luna are able to do...But fortunately his magic still faded"

"Thank you for the information Arctic Blizzard"

There was a long pause as Sombra decided "I charge them guilty of two counts of attempted escape and three counts of murder"

Wind Breaker looked at us with the most maniacal grin on his face but also a face of shock after hearing what Arctic Blizzard said

"There Punishment shall be...

"The punishment shall be 4 months in the dungeons and a promotion to a Brigadier General...

Wind breaker's face turned quickly from a maniacal grin to a shocked and confused look. He then interrupted Sombra as he spoke "My lord he has killed 3 of our soldiers and attempted to escape twice...surely he shouldn't be promoted to such a high rank and get such a small time in the dungeons."

"Do you dare argue your lord Wind Breaker?"

"I...um...he...I'm sorry for arguing with you my lord." Wind Breaker then bowed

Shortly after I could see Sombra's horn glow through the blinding light. Then a green sphere shot through the air and struck Wind Breaker.

Wind Breaker then tightly clasped his mouth shut and the rest of his body clenched, his breathing was in quick intervals and he made grunts of intense pain after he was struck by the spell.

Sombra then ordered "throw him into the dungeons."

Lavan walked up to Wind Breaker who was still in a large amount of pain. When Lavan got to him, he threw Wind Breaker on to his back.

Lavan then exited the room and Sombra spoke "now...as I was saying...you have proved yourself to be powerful and you will be a great benefit in my army...those ponies you killed were some of my best soldiers and it says on these reports you killed them with little to no effort."

Sombra then waved his hoof to dismiss everypony. Then a group of guards walked up and unlocked my cage and Thunder's. "Follow us" one of them said so we complied and followed.

when we got to our cells we heard a distant screams of pain echoing through the corridors coming from who I could only guess was

Wind Breaker.

The guards threw Thunder in but one just held out their hoof towards the door while looking at me "please enter your cell sir."

I did but not before I gave them a confused look. After they left I asked "why did they throw you in but politely lead me in?"

Thunder responded " I think it's because your now there superior...being a general and all." He then let out a yawn "guess it's getting late...can't really tell with these cells not having any windows."

I looked around and said "and of course no beds, thought I would get a luxury cell being a general." I joked. I let out a sigh and walked to a corner

I laid my head onto the cold stone but it was mainly difficult to sleep because of the screams of Wind Breaker...to think that could have happened to me terrified me.

The next few weeks passed without much happening until 2 months and 16 days after I was put in the dungeons.

I heard a muffled thud and some dust fell from the ceiling. Later I heard some more thuds and some guards came rushing past my cell. "whats going on?" I quietly said

Then Arctic Blizzard was running but skidded to a stop and came up to the cell door "We need as much help as we can get." he said while unlocking the cell door and tossed in a key "get that collar off of you."

He then ran off after unlocking the door. "what the hell?" Thunder said just as confused as I was. I cautiously walked up to the door and opened it.

"Hope this isn't another test." I said while I peeked my head out looking both directions seeing nothing but an empty corridor. We exited the cell and I almost fell over after a much louder thud shook the ground. We followed the direction Blizzard went and exited the dungeons and eventually found a window...turns out Sombra needs more defenses towards the north and because of that Celestia and her army was able to flank around and attack from the north.

Me and Thunder followed some guards that was rushing by to the armory and got some weapons then followed the same guards out to the battlefield. Both me and Thunder stayed far behind the defensive lines. A bit later I noticed Wind Breaker within the front lines but he was staring directly at me.

he then quickly took off and landed near me and Thunder. "are you trying to escape again?" Wind breaker said with a small twitch "do you know the pain I went through because of you?" he was slowly approaching me the entire time until he was near me. He then pulled out a small dagger that was strapped to his left hoof.

"Wait, we can talk this out." I said but he didn't stop approaching. When he was within hooves reach he struck out and stabbed me in my chest.

Thunder then ran up to Wind Breaker and punched him right in the face which knocked the knife out of his hoof but Wind just spun around and punched Thunder instantly knocking him out but he didn't stop when he was knocked out. he just kept punching Thunder over and over again until I coughed which brought his attention back to me. Then I noticed the taste of blood in my mouth and some dribbling out of my mouth...good sign for a punctured lung.

Wind Breaker walked up to me and got ready to give me a big punch but before he was able to punch me I gained the strength to pick up a rock and hit him on the head with it which surprisingly knocked him out. After using all of my strength I fell to the ground still bleeding profusely and everything faded to black.

I slowly opened my eyes and found myself in an infirmary but...it wasn't one of Sombra's...the equipment was clean and was not soaked in the blood from the last patient...the floor and walls weren't splattered with blood and it didn't stink of rotting amputated limbs.

After I got a good look at my surroundings A pony walked up to me and I took a good look at them...oh no...they were a solar guard...there going to kill me....wait, why haven't they already killed me?...oh...I guess their going to interrogate me first.

The pony then turned away and said "This one's waking up...hey Blitz can you get him caught up on what happened."

"ugh...why do I have to do it" I heard a feminine voice whine "it's going to take so long."

"It's barely going to take one minute."

"ugh, fine" she then walked up to me and I could see that her coat was a light gray and her mane and tail were a light orange with a yellow stripe going down it like a lightning bolt. she picked up a clipboard, stood next to me and began talking.

"So I'm guessing you already know we attacked from the north and pushed Sombra's army back into the city...wait says here that you were found near death's door before we pushed Sombra back...and two others were found unconscious near, you Mind telling me what happened?"

"Well I was stabbed by somepony that I pissed off. He also did a number on my friend...wait did you say there were two others near me?"

Blitz responded "yeah...wait why."

"would one of them by any chance be a grey Pegasus?" I asked

"Yes one of them was a grey pegasus now answer my question!"

"I think that Pegasus was the one who stabbed me."

"Hold on" she then picked up a small folder and rummaged through it and held a description of a patient and the description matched Wind Breaker.

"Yeah that's the one." I responded

"What did you do to get him that angry?"

"I didn't do anything. I was up for trial and he argued with Sombra about my sentence and then Sombra got angry at him and used some fancy dark magic spell that causes intense pain."

"Interesting...well anyway um, so we pushed Sombra and his army into the city but we couldn't get in cause those crystal walls are tough so we camped outside the walls for a while and during the night they attacked us so we fell back to our previous camp location...well I'm bored."Blitz then turned around and began walking away.

"Did you explain everything to him Blitz?"

"why wouldn't I Red Cross?" she called back

"You have a tendency to rush things." Red Cross replied

Blitz just rolled her eyes and walked off and later I could hear her say "hey princess one of them woke up and had an interesting story. turns out that one we captured stabbed him and did a beating on his friend."

Soon after I herd a beautiful voice say "Is it possible for me to visit this stallion? I'd like to see if he will tell me more."

"Well that would be for Red Cross to answer." Blitz said

Blitz then entered the tent again and called out "hey Red Cross the Princess wants to see if she can visit the one who just woke up."

When Blitz spoke he turned and listened and then turned back to the patent and said some words then turned back and said "yeah it's okay if she comes in" Blitz then exited and soon a very tall, white unicorn...wait, she has wings...ah that's right, alicorn entered the room and approached me.

she picked up a nearby clipboard "hello Lunar Aurora as you probably know I'm Princess Celestia. Do you mind pointing out which pony stabbed you?"

I responded "sure" I then started getting up slightly wincing in pain.

Princess Celestia then put a hoof up to stop me "I don't think you're ready to get up."

"This is nothing compared to what Sombra puts us through...were forced to leave soon after we wake up no matter the injury."

She then thought about is for a second then put her hoof back down and I continued to get up

"um...Princess another one of them is waking up." Red Cross said

The Princess and I then approached and I saw it was Wind Beaker

"Is that...Wind Breaker?" Celestia asked

"wait...you know him?" I asked

"yes...he was one of my generals that went missing a while ago...why was he fighting for Sombra...he was one of the most loyal ponies I've seen." Celestia replied

"He still is very loyal just not with you and also he's now one of Sombra's generals and so am I."

"Wait, you're one of Sombra's generals?"

"well...yes but I don't ever want to go back." I said nervously

Her horn began to glow and shortly after shot the spell at me. I tensed up before it hit me and when it did I only felt a bit of a tingle "what was that?" I asked

"It was just a spell to tell if what you said was a lie." Celestia responded "and fortunately the result was that you did not lie."

We turned to look at Wind Breaker which started opening his eyes slowly and soon they shot open "oh um Princess I didn't expect to see you...wait what happened during the attack?"

"We pushed Sombra back into the Crystal Empire but in the night they attacked." Celestia responded

"um...how long was I out? I was talking about when Sombra ambushed us just south of Baltimare."

"Are you talking about the battle that happened over two years ago when you went missing?" Celestia asked

"TWO YEARS?!? How in equestria did I forget two entire years."

"Lunar Aurora here said that you're one of Sombra's generals."

"You think I want to fight FOR Somb..." he suddenly stopped and clamped his hooves onto head

"Wind Breaker are you okay?" Celestia asked with a worried look on her face

Wind Breaker put his hooves down and stared at them and had a look of absolute terror "No I couldn't have done that." he said with a bit of a twitch

"Done what?" Celestia asked

"How can I live with myself after knowing that I've killed hundreds of innocent ponies and put thousands of others into slavery."

"Don't worry Wind Breaker I don't think you had a choice." Celestia reassured

"Didn't have a choice? I could have sneaked out easily but I didn't, I continued to kill."

"Wind Breaker...Sombra knows a spell that can manipulate and bend a pony's mind to do whatever he wants."

"How did you know that Sombra knew a spell that can do that?" I asked

"Um...well...I taught him the spell." Celestia responded

Me and Wind Breaker stared at her, eyes wide open and Red Cross who was on the opposite side of the room looked over with the same look on his face "you taught King Sombra an evil king that wants to enslave all ponykind a spell that helps him enslave more ponies?!"

"He was not always an evil king...he was once a good friend of mine and I trusted him with any of my knowledge...including some

dark magic...I thought his mind would be able to hold back the corruption of dark magic but that was a terrible mistake...he grew power hungry and stole some books containing the most powerful spells known to ponykind." Celestia said

Wind Breaker had a look of relief but still with a bit of distressed look "thank you Princess for telling me about that spell."

"Well I think you should get some sleep for that concussion." Celestia said

"I have a concussion?" Wind Breaker asked

"Yeah...I might have smashed a rock into your head after you stabbed me." I said

"Sorry about that." Wind Breaker apologized. "well you can leave now. I don't want you to be watching me sleep."

"That would be quite creepy." I said then Celestia and I turned around and left the tent.

We sat for a bit until she broke the silence "do you have anypony to go to."

"My family was killed in Sombra's initial attack." I responded

"oh...I'm sorry for your loss."

"I barely knew them...I was very young when it happened."

We awkwardly sat for a while longer until Celestia broke the silence again "If you want you can move south to try to get away from Sombra...everypony that's not fighting has moved south already."

"Is it possible for me to join your army? I asked

"You will need to sign some papers but yes." Celestia replied "I'm surprised you would even want to get close Sombra when you saw what he does first hand."

"That's one of the reasons I'm doing it. I want to help put an end to Sombra's reign." I said

"Okay if you really want to." Celestia said and then her horn started glowing and a green flame started swirling and dissipated revealing some papers "just sign these papers to join."

"Bit difficult without a pen." I said

"oops" her horn began glowing again and a pen levitated out of the tent and from inside the tent I heard "Hey!".

I took the pen out of the air and signed all the papers then after I finished I handed them to Celestia "that's it?"

"Yes...you are now fighting for a greater cause." Celestia said

Lunar Aurora's promotion is supposed to show that Sombra is very desperate for solders and how bad of a leader he is.

if you couldn't tell Lunar Aurora woke up in Celestia's military camp.

"So what’s the next course of action?" I asked

"Wind Breaker will take over this army for me and will be heading south east to Baltimare. I will be meeting up with my sister Luna to discuss farther plans" Celestia replied

"Might I ask why are we heading to Baltimare?"

"Some runaway slaves of Sombra has told us that he is planning to attack Baltimare but we haven't been able to find out when the attack is. Your one of his generals...shouldn't you know this?"

"Well I have been trapped in the dungeons for two months so I wasn't provided with any information or plans."

"That is true...guess we should start packing up the camp." Celestia finishes

After several days, Thunder and Wind Breaker healed and we got the military camp packed up. We soon got moving south east.

I heard some Celestial guards in awe. I approached to see what they were looking at and soon my eyes widened and jaw fell open.

"So, this is what Neighagra Falls looks like." one of the guards said "Wow."

We started crossing a bridge which at the beginning there was a sign titled Rainbow Bridge with a picture of a cloud with a lightning bolt made up of the colors blue, yellow, and red coming from it and under the picture it read (This memorial is to honor Rainbow Dash for assisting in the defeat of Nightmare Moon and Discord.)

Soon after we crossed we approached a wall of trees and a path piercing through the thick forest. The path had smaller plants jetting in the way and you would not be able to see ten feet farther into the forest

As we entered, the unicorns began pulling the obtruding plants to the side and soon illuminated their horns due to the dark abyss.

There was the occasional rattle of a solders armor when they jumped because of a shadow, some are saying that the shadows are actually moving.

I even start seeing them move and hearing shuffles in the bushes. “seems like the animals are being frightened by us” Wind Breaker said.

“Or everyponies going crazy” Thunder added

“Or something much worse” I said as we entered a burnt part of the forest

“Like what?” Thunder said but something caught my eye, some more movement but as a unicorn passed the dark location was illuminated and I very clearly saw at least three of Sombra’s solders.

I immediately yelled “AMBUSH!” as they realized that I saw them and jumped out, then a cascade of Sombra’s solders jumped out. 15, 20, 60, an entire army revealed themselves.

Most of them were unicorns and Pegasi. The unicorns most likely used some sound dampening spell on their hooves in order to have an entire army follow us for that long.

Soon we were completely surrounded and many of the unicorns were casting spells while the pegisi were preventing the Solar Guards pegasi from taking off. Fireballs filled the air and many shields went up, blocking the fireballs.

The Solar Guards and Sombra’s Empire intertwined in battle. I heard Wind Breaker yell out some orders “FOCUS ATTACK THE SOLDERS DIRECTLY AHEAD, HOLD OFF THE SOLDERS ON THE SIDES”

Not too long after he yelled those orders a massive fireball made it through the shields killing countless Solar Guards. But the large hole in the forces were filled with solders towards the center of the circle.

After a while in battle a large hole was made in Sombra’s forces in which we were able to get out of the trap. Not too long after, the battle continued. We kept getting pushed back by the constant barrage of fireballs and pegisi that swooped down.

Eventually we found ourselves passing a sign that said “Welcome to Fillydelphia.” But we had the advantage now that we were out in the open, causing Sombra’s army to fully emerge from the forest. In the mix of solders I saw one that looked familiar, it was Lavan. I saw that Wind Breaker had a very worried look on his face.

“What’s wrong Windy?” asked thunder

“You remember Lavan from your trial?”

“Yeah.” replied Thunder

“Well, that’s him over there and he’s one of Sombra’s most ruthless killers and he does not take prisoners.” Wind Breaker then yelled some orders “FALL BACK AND TAKE COVER IN THE BUILDINGS.”

The small amount of solders left quickly took action, rounding the street loosing Lavan’s vision then hid within the surrounding. Not too long after, Lavan rounded the corner with several other ponies and began walking down the street

“Come out come out where ever you are” Lavan called out with a maniacal grin on his face “you can’t hide forever.”

His horn began glowing and shot out a massive blaze of fire engulfing a building while the other ones shot fireballs at two others causing the hidden solders to run out of the burning structure in which Lavan redirected the flame coming out of his horn toward the solders

As quickly as I could, I created a shield around the solders blocking them from the flames

“Who Did That!” Lavan yelled. He then used another spell “There you are.” he said as he looked directly at me

His horn began glowing as he started casting another spell “GET OUT OF THERE” I heard Wind yell from a nearby building as a large sphere grew above Lavan’s horn and not too long after it shot out but before it reached us I teleported everypony in the structure outside in the street

Immediately after there was a massive explosion that destroyed all the surrounding buildings. One of the solders Created a shield around everypony as the flames engulfed everything. As it cleared up the solders next to Lavan began creating more fireballs.

They began the barrage. During the countless impacts, I could see that the solder was having difficulty keeping the shield up so I started funneling my magical energy to him, strengthening the shield but then I could not hold up the shield that was protecting the other solders that escaped the burning building so I had to drop it and teleport them away. But that was the last straw, it strained my magic too much and it fried out, in which unicorns can’t use their magic for a time and if they strain it way too much then they can completely lose their magic forever.

Suddenly, the barrage stopped and when the smoke cleared away we looked skyward seeing a swarm of pegasi with one grey Pegasus leading the swarm, Wind Breaker. They turned back and made another swoop down quickly grabbing all of the solders around Lavan. The one who tried to grab Lavan was quickly incinerated. A bit later, I could see small dots plummeting to the ground.

On the next dive, Lavan readied a spell and when Wind Breaker and the others grew near Lavan threw a massive tower of fire causing half of the pegasi to plummet to the ground in a ball of fire.

“Now, where were we? Oh, that’s right” Lavan said as he turned back to us and quickly shot another fireball at us. My magic came back and I immediately made a deflecting shield that makes spells go a different direction. The fireball bounced off and struck a sky scrapper farther in the city igniting the base of it.

The solder next to me was able to put up the shield again before Lavan fired another shot. During a few minutes of constant fire Lavan was heating up the ground under us to turn it to lava but we caught on before we were burned alive. We teleported farther away but the pony who made the shield burned out so I put up another shield.

One of the solders stated that the sky scrapper was about to fall and we could probably get away when the dust and ash fills the air. I looked at it and made a different plan. “can you take over the shield” I asked. one of the solders quickly took over. I moved to the side to focus. I reached my magic far out, touching the sky scrapper. Encompassing the support beams and with a hard pull, ripping out the supports causing the building to topple over but before it struck the ground I used all my magic to lift the building and two of the solders saw what I was doing and funneled their magic to me. I let it drift in the air. When it got above Lavan I released the structure.

In a massive explosion of rubble and debris, Lavan’s flame went out.
