A brony from earth is thrust into Equestria, but as a changeling.
After a little incident, probably involving magic, a man from earth finds himself in Equestria, but as a changeling. He knows what he is of course, but he can't explain his enormous magical reserves. And after getting in trouble with a certain butter coated, overprotective pegasus due to a misunderstanding, what adventures will this guy turned changeling find for himself?

Chpt 1. First Encounter
This wasn’t what I had in mind. One minute I was in New York City, watching MLP, wishing I could get out of the loud NYC. Next thing I know, I got zapped by some probably magical lightning, and thrust into the magical land of Equestria. I could almost instantly tell where I was due to the sight of a rather angry looking cartoon bunny, probably angel bunny, staring down at me, angrily.
Now, I’m a rather smart guy, and I’m also a brony, so instead of screaming like any normal person would do, I just waited, and waited, and waited. Waited for him to make a move. He then lift up his left hand and pointed downward.
I looked down to my right. It was a carrot patch. I likely crushed it, making him angry. What I also saw almost made my heart stop, if I even had one. I saw black, hard skin, or was it chitin, on my right side. I slowly got up, only to confirm my fear: I was a changeling. I had holes in my legs, two fangs, a horn and a pair of wings. I almost screamed right then and there, but I remembered something. ‘Changelings are considered enemies.’ If I screamed, someone would likely come see who or what it is. I’d be found out, and most likely executed, or banished to the badlands, neither of which sound too good.
Angel bunny was still glaring daggers at me. 'Better fix this carrot patch before Fluttershy comes looking for him and finds me.' Most of the carrots were snapped in half, an easy fix if I can use magic, ‘If’ being the key word. So I tried what almost every fanfiction I’ve ever read on FIMFiction.net said about magic. 'Imagine the object floating in front of you, then pour magic into your horn.' To my not so much surprise, it worked. Two carrot halves were floating in front of me. 'Understand what you’re doing on an atomic level.' Welding is the closest word I can think of to what I’m doing, Lining up the two carrot halves, I imagined the atoms at the ends closest to each half bonding. Again to my not so much surprise, the two halves were one, as if there was never even a break. I continued with all the other carrot halves, I was very surprised with how good I was at magic already, maybe I just understood it better than most people. My thoughts were cut short with a familiar voice.
“Angel bunny? Angel where are you?” Dammit, I was hoping I’d have a bit more time than this. “Angel?” She’s getting closer, better make a break for it.
I ran as fast as I could. This was the first time I got a look at my surroundings. It appears to be a forest. The only forests I know close enough to ponyville for angel bunny to come here are ‘Whitetail Woods’, and the ‘Everfree’. I honestly hopped it was the latter, as no one in their right mind would come here without a very good reason to.
I hopped beyond hope that Angel didn’t tell Fluttershy about me. Oh that would be bad. She would instantaneously interpret me as a threat, especially if angel made it sound like I attacked him. And I really don’t want to find out what happens if Fluttershy gets enraged when one of her animals are ‘attacked’. My thoughts were cut short again by a very loud familiar voice.
“YOU DARE HURT MY ANGEL!!?”
Talk about when shit hits the fan. I turned around and I almost died right there. Fluttershy was quickly approaching me at speeds which would make Rainbow Dash jealous. I needed to fly and try to lose her. I quickly formed a plan in my head. Let’s just hope the atmosphere works at least close to what it does back on earth.
I started to buzz my wings as fast as I could, almost instantly taking off. I steadied myself before I flew straight up. Hoping I could get high enough. I knew if Fluttershy was really that mad, then she would follow me. I hope that she doesn’t know too much about aeronautics, if it even applies to magical organic cartoon ponies. Just as I suspected, she’s following me, straight up. Hopefully my faster wing beat can keep me up higher then she can. I looked to the side, and for the 3rd time I almost had a heart attack.
Rainbow Dash was speeding towards me.
I had to go higher faster than what I previously should've needed. I looked back down to Fluttershy, who was slowing down. Slower… slower… slower… she stopped, unable to go any higher. She started falling. I made it.
She was stalling.
My face took on a look of horror. She wasn’t flapping her wings. She was unconscious. Faster than what I’ve ever seen even Rainbow go, I instantly stopped my wings from flapping, tilting myself straight down for less air resistance, making me go faster than her falling. But it wasn’t enough, I started flapping my wings to gain more speed. I also looked to the side to see Rainbow right besides me, completely ignoring me. That’s the 4th time I’ve almost died from panic. But Rainbow didn’t even seem to care I was there, she was doing the same thing I was: trying to save Fluttershy.
I beat my wings faster than before, getting more speed. The ground was quickly approaching. I had to do something. Then an idea formed in my head. Less wind resistance = more speed. I’ve never seen nor heard of anyone who’s ever tried what I was about to attempt.
I’m going to move the air molecules out of the way before they have a chance to slow me down.
I started up my magic, hoping this was even possible. I imagined a vacuum around me, and while I know that I would likely suffocate with the lack of air, I can hold my breath for more than long enough than what was required. And I think my chitin is strong enough to keep the pressure before my blood can boil.
To my surprise it actually worked, I couldn’t hear anything due to the lack of air, but I was going fast enough that I quickly caught up to Fluttershy. I quickly shut off the spell and grabbed her around the waist at the same time. I started slowing down, eventually to where Rainbow could catch up. She held her by the shoulders, and gently placed her on the ground before Rainbow turned to me. I expected her to attack, kill, destroy, threaten me, glare daggers, tell Twilight about me so she could execute me herself. But what I got was completely unexpected.
“Who are you? And what are you?” Ok… the first part I can understand, wanting to know who I am. But that second part took me by surprise. Shouldn’t she already know what I am? That I’m designated as an enemy? That she shouldn’t trust me ever? That she should just- It hit me like a moon crashing down onto its home planet: It hasn’t happened yet, the invasion hasn’t happened yet. That thought gave me hope.
“Hello? You in there?” Rainbow asked.
Let’s see, last time I checked, most changelings couldn’t talk unless changed. But i’m not revealing that just yet, so I decided on changing just my voice box. A green flash of light covered my throat. And I spoke in a machine like voice, almost like what I’m saying plays back a 10th of a second later
“Name’s Paladin.” A name of one of my ocs. “As for what I am, you will find out soon enough, or maybe in a couple of months, I’m not sure actually.”
“What do you mean ‘not sure’? And why can’t you tell me what you are?”
“For that first question, I can’t tell you, and for the second one, I can’t tell you.”
Rainbow gave out a huff of frustration, and then got up and said:
“Well, I thank you for helping to save Fluttershy, although it kind of is your fault, but I need to get her back home.”
“Well don’t let me stop you.” I said as I flew off, she also doing the same, to where I assume is Fluttershy’s cottage.
-
After Rainbow dropped Fluttershy off at her cottage, she shot right over to Twilight’s. Almost knocking down the door to her castle, she sped around the place looking for Twilight, passing guards who looked slightly irritated afterwards. She finally came to a stop at her bedroom door. Knocking furiously, the door opened to reveal a tired looking Twilight.
Twilight blinked a few times, before finally speaking up. “Rainbow? What brings you here?”
“I have something to tell you!”
“Well come in then.” Twilight stepped aside to let Rainbow in the room. Rainbow looked pretty worried.
“Twilight, you're not gonna believe what I found today.”
“What did you find?” Twilight asked in a ‘not interested’ kind of way.
“I found a changeling.”
Twilight instantly grimaced at that. “Wha? a changeling? But we got rid of those almost a year ago!”
“I know, but I know what I saw. In fact after it almost killed Fluttershy, but it saved her, but you’re not gonna believe how.”
“Almost killed Fluttershy!? Did it attack her?”
“No, not directly. It flew really high and when she tried to follow it, she passed out!”
“Did you save her?” Twilight asked worried.
“No.” Twilight almost fainted, but before she could do anything, Rainbow continued. “It did.” Twilight gasped.
“How!? Why!?”
“I’m not sure, but it flew down towards her, I thought it wouldn’t be fast enough, so I was right beside it. It was like neither of us even registered the other’s presence. When I thought Fluttershy would, you know, it suddenly sped up like nothing I’ve ever seen. It easily passed the sound barrier, but there was no shock wave.” Twilight took on a curious look. “It easily caught up with Fluttershy, when I caught up, we set Fluttershy down on the ground, and I looked at it, it instantly looked almost, fearful, like it thought I would attack it. I decided to act like I had no Idea what it was, and I asked its name.” Rainbow paused.
“And what was it?” Twilight asked almost excitedly.
“Its name is Paladin.” Rainbow responded.
-
I was flying towards Canterlot. I looked back to Ponyville one last time, what I saw made my blood run cold. In the distance, I saw a large, crystal, out of place castle. It was Twilight’s castle. Any hope I had was instantly crushed upon seeing that castle. That being there means the Canterlot invasion has already happened. They knew what I was. But why did Rainbow act like she didn’t know what I was?
But one thing was clear: I needed to hide. I looked around, and spotted the Everfree. ‘Not going back there. Whitetail Woods it is!’ I decided to stay in there. I quickly dashed over there, it was a pretty long ways off, but my speed didn’t make it seem so. I was a lot faster than what I thought a normal changeling could go. I arrived over the forest, I paused, then dashed under the tree line.
“Well, better make the most of it.” I said depressedly. If I don’t find someway back home, someone will eventually find me, tell the princess(es), and I’d be imprisoned just for how I look. It wasn’t fair, it just wasn’t fair at all! I actually wouldn’t mind staying if the time-stamp I got dumped in was before the invasion, I might of actually had a chance, but since this is after, there’s no way I’d gain their trust.

Told you it was horribly written, I did say that didn't I?
Chpt 2. Becoming Me (light gore)
I saw some thick trees off to the side, and I decided to take a short nap. I walked over there and laid down. Sleep did not come easy for me though. Every time I almost fell asleep I swear I heard growling from somewhere around me, but nothing came out to attack me.
After the third time of failed sleep, I knew this wasn’t going to work. I was bored stiff. I tried humming some of my favorite songs, practicing magic, which I was really good at, I found. A high pitched scream, followed by some words, cut off my thinking.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHH! GET AWAY FROM ME!” After that I could hear several magic shots being fired, followed by more screaming. Then I heard another scream from the first pony, I swear I know that voice. The scream was cut off, though. I knew I needed to help, whether they like me or not, I’m not going to just name myself Paladin and not try to be one.
I started galloping towards the direction I heard the screams from. It was in a clearing. When I arrived at what I assume was the scene of the crime, I almost gasped at what I saw. There were no bodies, so that meant whoever it was, they took them as their prisoner. In the middle of the clearing was a very recognizable wagon.
“Trixie…” That won’t stand, not on my watch, time to knock that tower down. I started looking for hoof prints. I found some off and out of the clearing. I started following the trail, on alert for any movement at all. There were a few shaking bushes, but they all turned out to be bunnies or some other non-threatening animal.
I kept following the trail, almost out of the woods, before I found a small house. I assumed that that’s the kidnapper’s hideout due to the trails leading right up to the door. I need a plan. But before I could think of anything, I heard someone speak.
“Hey boss, look over here, I think someone followed us.” Said one voice.
“What is it?” Said another who I assume is the ‘boss’.
“Some black thing followed us out here, what should we do?” Said a third voice
Well, there goes the element of surprise, guess I’ll have to go in ‘guns blazin’ as they’d say. I got out from behind the very little cover I had, and got to thinking about how I could best incapacitant them without killing them. I had the most gorey Idea I’ve ever had, though that isn’t saying much as I’m not really that kind of person.
I started charging up my magic. I slowly walked out of the bushes, trying on my best ‘you done fucked up’ face. They immediately charged me, oh how stupid can they be, never underestimate your opponents. I set my plans into action, and I instantly heard screaming.
“AHHHH! MY EYE!” The first voice said again. He was a white earth pony with a short brown mane.
“AHHHH! MINE TO!” The third voice added. He was a brown pegasus with a short blonde mane.
“I’M BLIND!” Said a fourth. He was a yellow pegasus with a brown mane.
That’s right, I blew up their eyes in their heads. What? It’s not like I knew how to fight physically in a quadrupedal form! I left the ‘boss’ with no injures. All his three men were down on the ground, writhing in pain. That just left the ‘big bad boss’ to deal with. He simply looked at me with fear, and proceeded to run the other way. I stopped him with my magic, brought him over to me, and turned him around. I simply, and calmly said:
“Where is she?” I was giving him one chance to play nice.
“W-w-which o-one?” He asked. The 'boss' was a pudgy blue earth pony with a very short purple mane.
“The one with the wizard hat.”
“Inside, i-in a c-cage.”
“Good.” I said happily. “Now, I suggest you leave, and never do anything like this ever again.” I dropped him, and naturally he started running away. I had no intention of letting my guard down, criminals like this always have a backup plan. I used my magic to reinforce the molecules of my chitin, now it felt like titanium armor.
I started walking to the little house, expecting a very one sided fight. When I opened the door, there was no one there except a few ponies in cages scattered around the room. When they looked at me, it was fear in their eyes. I was kind of expecting that too, but I had other plans than to hurt them. Again using my magic, I flung the doors to their cages and motioned out the door. Some of them ran out, while others were hesitant, but they to soon left. Two of them were asleep, one was some background pony I didn’t recognize, and the other was Trixie. I walked over to the one I didn’t know and woke her, at first, of course, she squeaked in fear, but when she saw all the cages were opened, she nodded and ran. Next was Trixie, who I saw had more than just a few cuts and bruises. I decided not to wake her yet, as I didn’t want her to feel any of that pain, so I decided to take her to the Ponyville hospital. I knew something like that would be dangerous, but being a Paladin means that my life doesn’t matter to me, it’s who I decide to be the Paladin of that matters to me, so if helping her means that I go to prison for being a changeling, then so be it.
I lifted her up on my back and headed out to Ponyville. It was a pretty short flight, as I was going so fast. I was using my magic to keep the wind out of her face, while also making the chitin on my back really soft, it kind of hurt, actually, but that’s what being a Paladin means. I was almost over Ponyville, when a light blue blur in front of me made me slow down. I knew it was Rainbow, but I had more important things to do than getting killed by Rainbow Dash.
“Hey Paladin! What’s up?” Still trying to lie to me? I might as well play along, them not knowing that I know that they know what I am might be helpful; Actually, that line of thinking might be similar to what they were thinking.
“Just escorting Trixie here to the hospital.” I told her.
Rainbow looked over to Trixie, then instantly regretted it. “W-what happened?” She said through almost throwing up.
“She was kidnapped, I was nearby when I heard her screaming, I followed them, beat them senseless, and released all their prisoners. I’m guessing she put up a pretty good fight, as I don’t see any reason to harm somepony that’s complying willingly.” Rainbow flinched at that last statement, I’m guessing she was planning to attack me when she first saw me returning. Then she looked disgusted and confused.
“Wait, all their prisoners?” Rainbow gulped. “H-how many were there?”
“Nine others, but none of them had any wounds, so they didn’t need any medical attention.”
“WHAT!? NINE!? Kidnapped? They’re going to pay!” Rainbow said angrily.
I just rolled my eyes. “They did, three of them lost an eye, and I was going to do much worse to the boss if he didn’t tell me where they were keeping her. Luckily for him, he was a coward and withheld no information. So he got away unscathed, maybe.”
Rainbow almost puked at the ‘lost an eye’ statement, then grew curious at the last part. “Maybe? What does that mean?”
“When I released everypony, some of them ran out quickly, I’m guessing some of them are going to exact their revenge on him.” That would be fun to watch, not that I’d ever tell an Element of Harmony that.
“Well that’s good, I’d hate to see what they could do to him.” Rainbow said through an obviously forced smile.
I said nothing, still looking for the hospital, when I finally spotted it. “Well, I’m taking Trixie to the hospital, so if you don’t mind, I need to land now.” I said with a slight bit of sarcasm near the end.
“I’ll come with you!” Now, of course I knew she wouldn’t trust me just like that, but there’s like 24/7 hospital personnel, I didn’t think she would be that protective over her friend’s arch nemesis, but I guess she is.
“Fine, whatever.” I said through gritted teeth, but she didn’t seem to take notice on that.
I started flying downward with her right besides me. When we landed, I, of course, got a few looks, most consisting of disgust. I did my best not to let Rainbow notice I noticed. I walked in the doors, getting a few looks from the ponies in the lobby. I walked straight up to the front desk, when the receptionist’s eyes fell on Trixie, she motioned for a stretcher to get her to a room.
“Uh, miss?” The receptionist turned towards me. “Is there any rule against me staying with her during her recovery? I want to be there when she wakes up.”
“Are you family?” The receptionist questioned.
“No.” I replied back.
“Then you’ll only be able to visit during visiting hours.”
“Ok, good day miss.” I turned around and started walking to the door. When I got out, I decided I needed a nap. I flew off towards Whitetail Woods. I was going to have to do something about those growling sounds. Little did I know, however, Rainbow was following me on the ground, along with Pinkie Pie, ‘cause she’s Pinkie.

Don't know why you're still reading, but whatever.
Chpt 3.
I was frozen in fear. Apparently, I didn’t go to Whitetail Woods, I accidentally went in the Everfree. How does one even make a mistake that dire? And there was a dragon right in front of me. I knew the best thing to do was stand still and hope it thinks I’m a tree or a rock. Thankfully it was nighttime and this was the Everfree after all, so it was already dark. And along with my black chitin, it made it almost impossible for anyone or anything to see me.
-
“What’s it doing?” Rainbow asked Pinkie as they were watching Paladin.
“Not it, he. And I don’t know.” Pinkie replied.
“Wait, how do you know it’s a he anyway.” Rainbow questioned.
“Eh, just a hunch.” Pinkie answered.
Rainbow just rolled her eyes. They didn’t see the dragon as Paladin did, and they didn’t know why he was just standing there. But then they suddenly heard a loud roar.
“RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!” The easily noticeable rawr of a dragon. When they finally got their ears to stop ringing, they looked back to where Paladin was standing, and he was still there, and he was ready to fight.
-
“I really didn’t wish it had to come to this, Mr. Dragon, but you leave me no choice.” I said as it began to launch its head forward. I activated my molecular reinforcement spell… what? I made a spell. I put on a deadpan stare as its head came down on me.
CRACK!
I was completely unharmed, my magically reinforced chitin holding up like Titanium. Its teeth were almost completely shattered, though. It still hadn’t moved his head back up, so that’s when I decided to make my move. I grabbed Its tongue with my magic and stabbed it with molecules of air held strongly together with magic. I knew that would make it scream, so I put soundproof bubbles around my ears. Sure enough, I could feel the vibrations all through out my body.
It started to lift its head up, now’s my chance for escape. I moved all of the broken tooth bits out of the way with my magic so they don’t scratch me. The dragon was now at its full height. It opened its mouth to, I assume, spew fire in my general direction. I quickly flew up, its head locked on me. I could see its throat glowing, so I started flying above and around it.
It finally started the flames up, trying to hit me with the flames. It wasn’t hard to avoid, as the dragon was too stupid to realize it was shooting at me when it should be firing ahead of me.
“A little more fun, then I’ll finish this fight.” I stated as I started to do tricks in the air, sometimes going under him just to confuse him. I then started to make faces as if I’m taunting it. That made it really mad, to which I responded by mocking him even further.
“IT’S ANGRY! IT’S ANGRY!” I screamed as I flew in vertical circles in the air. I was on the verge of tears, barely able to contain my amusement. It started firing in the middle of the circle. The flames finally caught up to me. I started coughing, while the dragon just smirked.
Through coughs, I said. “Alright then, *cough* I guess *cough* it’s time *cough* to end *cough* this!” I waited for it to get closer, when it did, I shot off into the sky. The dragon just looked up, confused at my actions.
Little did it know, I was planning on coming back down, just not to play. It was time to end this little quarrel. Ever since my little escape from Fluttermaniac, I’ve been practicing my flight, and I’ve gotten a lot faster.
When I came to a stop, I wasn’t sure If I was even in the lower atmosphere anymore. I took one look at Equis, and closed my eyes. I focused on the point of impact, necessary speed, and proper angle. When I got done with those calculations, I opened my eyes, still buzzing my wings, I looked down to the Everfree. I tilted downwards for less air resistance, and then I sped forwards. I started gaining speed quickly, I had to blink rapidly to keep my eyes from drying out. I passed the cloud layer, going straight through one cloud. I didn’t hear any boom when I passed the sound barrier, but I could see the black ring behind me. I decided a rainbow colored nuke cloud would look cooler than a black one, so I changed into a Rainbow Dash copy, and I could see a rainbow colored trail behind me. Mach one wasn’t fast enough, though, so I used my pegasus magic to keep flying at this speed, and again used magic to move the air molecules in front of me out of the way, while the molecules at the back would propel me even faster due to the vacuum in front of me. With all these factors, I was finally able to pass mach three, fast enough for this amount of mass, and with the assistance of a bit of explosive multiplier magic, this would easily be able to end this little, simple, unnecessary quarrel.
“Tick... tick…”
BOOOOOOOM!
Let’s just say there was no more dragon after that, take that anyway you want.
-
“Where’s he going?” Rainbow again began the questioning.
“How am I supposed to know?” Pinkie counter-questioned.
“I don’t know, can’t you use your Pinkie sense?” Rainbow counter-counter-questioned.
Just then, Pinkie’s tail started to twitch.
“Rainbow…” Pinkie said in a very worried kind of voice.
“Did you find out where he went?”
“I did, and I think we should leave, like right now.”
“Wha? Why?”
Pinkie grabbed Rainbow’s face in her hooves. “Leave. Now.” She said in a ‘you better damn listen or you gonna die bitch’ voice.
“O-ok.” Rainbow picked Pinkie up and sped off back towards Ponyville.
-
“... and then Pinkie’s tail started twitching and she demanded that we left.”
Twilight and the rest of the Mane 6 besides Pinkie and Rainbow had their mouths agape in shock of what they just heard. After the massive blue light somewhere in the Everfree and the resulting shockwave, Twilight summoned the Elements of Harmony in case of a threat. She didn’t know how to deal with a changeling with that much destructive capability, neither did her friends. While there was next to no damage or any injured, if that kind of thing happened in the middle of town, let’s just say there wouldn’t be a town left.
Just then Spike burped up a letter. Twilight took it in her magic, undid the ribbon, unscrolled the scroll, and began reading the letter aloud.
“Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle,
I’m sure you have many questions about what happened over the Everfree, I'm afraid I don’t have the answers to many of those questions. My guards have investigated the scene. We have found nothing other than a large crater. We would like you to personally investigate the scene and attempt to find anything more of use.”
Twilight reread the letter twice to make sure she didn’t miss anything.
“Spike. Take a letter.” Spike immediately found a scroll and quill and stood at attention, ready to write her message.
“Dear Princess Celestia…”
-
“I am never doing that again.” I stated as I started to get up. I looked around for the dragon, nowhere to be seen. Must of disintegrated it. I started to try and fly, but I found that that little stunt took more out of me than I thought. I looked off towards Canterlot, and, for what, like, the 7th time? I almost had a heart attack. There were a bunch of Royal Guards coming my way.
“Shit, I need to hide.” I scrambled to under some debris of the unfortunate trees that happened to be in the immediate vicinity. I knew the guards were idiots, but one lucky guard could notice me.
-
“Search the area. We’ve got to find him.”
“Yes sir, Prince Armor.”
"Who exactly are we looking for?" questioned a guard.
"You'll know him when you see him," Shinning replied.
The guards continued searching through the crater, and after finding nothing, returned to Shining Armor.
“Sir, we couldn’t find anything.” Said one guard.
“Very well, you return to Canterlot to notify the princesses of this, I'll return to Princess Cadence .” Shining Armor replied.
-
“Whew, that was too close. But shouldn't Shinning Armor be in the Crystal Empire? Why would he be here?” I said getting up from my temporary hideout. I looked around the blast site. I just now got a good enough look to realize what kind of destruction I caused. “I did that?” I was shocked at the size of the crater. It was at least 300 feet across! And probably around 50 feet deep. And I was at the bottom. “Well, better get going.” I started for the edge of the crater. I then started to think to myself, ‘I haven’t even slept since I came here, and I’m tired as fuck.’ I started to try and fly again, and, unlike last time, I actually took off, but it was pretty shaky as I haven’t slept yet. I then headed off towards Whitetail Woods, this time making sure I don’t go the wrong way.
Author's Notes:
So, the fight with the kidnappers in the last chapter was a little (a lot) on the short side, but that was sort of intentional, as I wanted to emphasize how the main character fights. Fast and determined when serous, and slow and playful when only he is in danger.
But another reason it was so short, is because I'm a terrible writer, and don't ever forget that.
Chpt 4. Failed Revenge
Celestia was in her bedroom room, sipping some tea just after sending the letter to Twilight. Luna was right next to her talking about what happened.
“What do you think that blue light was, Tia?”
“I do not know, sister. But I am confident Princess Twilight will further investigate.” Celestia replied.
Just then, a letter popped up right in front of Celestia. She Unrolled it and began reading aloud.
“Dear Princess Celestia,
Yesterday afternoon, Rainbow Dash come to me with news. A changeling with abnormal abilities has been found. Pinkie believes that he was the source of the event. Currently, we are watching him from afar. I am going to continue to investigate the site in hopes to find him and talk to him.
Your friend and former student,
Twilight Sparkle.”
Celestia looked puzzled for a second, then took a look of concern. A changeling? With abnormal abilities? This can't be good.
-
I found my way to the spot I was before the whole ‘Trixie getting kidnapped’ incident. I can still hear that growling.
“Whoever or whatever’s making that growling sound, you better either stop, or you’re getting the same fate as that dragon.” I said.
The growling stopped for a few seconds, but started back up again.
“Alright, don’t say I didn’t give you a chance.” I said as I started to get up. I already had a plan as how to get rid of them, but first I needed to find them. I hopped it was a creature that came from the Everfree. Oh this is going to be good. I started walking in a random direction, hopping that it would get louder. It did. I kept walking closer. Now it was really loud, and there was a bush right in front of me. I stopped for a minute, before saying. “Last chance to stop.” It didn’t heed my words. “Alright, prepare to get exploded.” The growling continued. I used my magic to uproot the bush. And so the thing is revealed.
It was a baby Timberwolf. Now, I know Timberwolves are supposed to only be native to the Everfree, so one being here meant something was up. It was asleep, and I guess the snoring was what was making the growling sound. I eyed it for a minute before decided not to explode it.
I simply put a sound bubble around it so I couldn’t hear its snoring, and went to sleep.

After Twilight sent the letter to Celestia, she got her friends together to investigate the site. They started looking around for anything that could lead to the location of the mysterious changeling. Nothing.
“Ugh, there’s nothing here.” Rainbow eventually stated.
Twilight thought for a second, before speaking. “I got an idea!”
“What is it?” Rainbow asked.
“Well, I’ve been working on a tracking spell.”
“Ok, power it up.”
Twilight did just that, and quickly found a trail of magical residue. But tracking isn’t the only thing the spell is good for. Twilight gasped at what else the spell implied.
“What is it?” Everyone else asked.
Twilight looked at them, before saying. “Well, you see, the spell works by sort of ‘sniffing out’ the pony’s magical reserve. The bigger the magical reserve, the more magical residue is released, and the easier it it to pick up. My spell almost instantly picked it up, usually it takes at least 30 seconds to find a trail, but getting one so fast either means it has a really big magical reserve, or it used a lot of magic at once.”
“So, what’s that mean?” Applejack asked worriedly.
“I think that changeling is what caused this.” Twilight stated. They all gasped.
“B-but h-how?” Fluttershy asked.
“I don’t know, so that’s why we’re going to follow its trail and ask it.” Twilight said.
“So let’s git’ goin’!” Applejack replied. “So which way?”
Twilight turned around. “That way!”
-
I awoke to the sound of growling, which is weird, as I’m a pretty heavy sleeper. But wait, that would mean that that Timberwolf left the soundproof bubble. I lifted my head up to look around, finding nothing. I felt a breath on my stomach. I looked down, and for the… 8th time? I almost jumped out of my skin.
The baby Timberwolf was curled up against me. Still sleeping. Now that I calmed myself down, I could finally think straight.
“That’s adorable.” I whispered, not wanting to wake the sleeping Timberwolf.
I gently nuzzled it. If it’s going to stay with me, then I need to name it.
…
…
“Paradox!” I decided. It finally awoke and looked up at me. I suddenly felt good, like really good. ‘Must be changeling biology, I mean they do feed off love after all.’ But I thought changelings had to do some kind of special magic to feed, I’m going to have to experiment with that later. I decided I should do something with it, so I gently picked it up, and put it on my back, and started walking in a random direction.
When I reached a clearing, I decided to have a little fun with Paradox. I took him off my back, which invoked a few whimpers, and put him on the ground.
“Stay here.” I told him. He nodded and sat down.
I needed to find a stick. What? It has ‘wolf’ in the name, and wolves like sticks, right? I went to the edge of the clearing, and picked up a stick.
I came back and waved the stick in front of Paradox, which immediately caught his attention. I threw it to almost the edge of the clearing. He immediately darted off for it. He came back and I threw it again, and again, and again.
-
“We’re getting closer, just a little bit more.” Twilight said to her friends.
They almost got to a large clearing, when they heard something hit the ground. They walked behind a bush. It was a stick. Then something came out to grab it and leave.
“W-was that a T-timberwolf?” Asked Fluttershy fearfully.
“I think it was, but that can’t be right, Timberwolves are only native to the Everfree.” Answered Twilight.
“Well then what’s it doin’ here?” Applejack continued the questioning.
“I don’t know.” Twilight answered again.
Just then, they all heard a loud whimper, likely from the Timberwolf. They all turned their heads to the direction of the sound. Twilight slowly started to walk forward, the rest following a bit behind. They kept walking until they heard talking.
“This will teach him to not mess with us.”
“Yeah boss, he won’t know what’s coming.”
“Do you think he’ll do something like last time?”
“Not with his little friend on the line.”
After that was just laughter. The Mane six, especially Fluttershy were appalled at what that could mean.
“Well, let’s go, we got’a do this fast.”
“Start walking then.”
They got up and started walking to the clearing. The Mane 6 started walking after them, slowly and far behind as to not attract their attention. They eventually started to reach a large clearing. The kidnappers stopped.
“Well, there he is. Let’s get going.”
-
“Where is he?” I asked worriedly.
Just then I heard a loud voice.
“Turn around slowly, or your little pal here gets it.”
What went through my mind at that moment:
Pal = Paradox.
Voice = Kidnapper.
Kidnappers = Apparent idiots.
‘Get’s it’ = Knife to the wooden throat?
Plan = Use my superior intelligence to outsmart them.
I turned around as slow as I could trying to hold in my laughter at their stupidity.
“Your gonna come with us, or your friend here gets it.”
“No.” Their eyes, or eye, in three cases, went wide.
“W-what?” One said.
“I’m going to give you one chance to put him down peacefully, and just walk away.”
“Don’t you care for your little pet here? ‘Cause we will kill him” Another one asked with obvious fear.
“How stupid can you get? If you did kill him, I’d have no reason not to make a move. So go ahead and just try.” I said confidently, I knew that wasn’t the only reason they couldn’t kill him., but better to not let them know that.
They looked at each other for a second, before the one who I assumed was the boss said: “Do it.” I winced internally at how stupid one can get in this dimension, I’m glad I wasn’t born here.
The one holding Paradox drew back the knife he was holding, and trust it at Paradox.
…
…
Nothing. The knife caught in the wood, completely non lethal. They all looked puzzled, but when they looked back to me, I was already in their faces.
“Strike two.” I simply said. “You don’t seem to have any unicorns, that’s going to be detrimental to your little revenge plan. I’m faster than any pegasus and I can use magic to make myself stronger than any earth pony.” I slowly walked away with Paradox in my magic. I set the sleeping baby Timberwolf down in a magic shield box. “So, are we going to fight again or what?” I asked them, getting in a defensive position. There was only four of them, two earth ponies and two pegasi, even if they doubled their numbers with two unicorns, this would still be an easy fight.
“GET HIM!’ I heard the ‘boss’ say. The other three started to run towards me. I simply activated my molecular reinforcement spell and waited for them to get close and punch me.
…
…
CRACK!
I had to choke back laughter at the look on their faces. I was finding it increasingly difficult to keep my poker face. I’m pretty sure they should start writhing in pain right… about…
“OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!”
… now. Wow that took a while for the pain to register. All three of them were immediately rolling back and fourth on the ground in pain. That’s when I simply left, picking up a now awake Paradox as I passed by him.
“Hey! You can’t just leave!” I heard the ‘boss’ say.
I turned only my head around swiftly, changed into a Rainbow Dash copy, and said in the most cocky tone of voice I could muster: “I kinda can!” I again had to choke back laughter at that reference. I changed back into my natural form, and walked out of the clearing, into the thick of the forest. I just left behind one really angry pony, three ponies who need to go to the hospital, four dumbfounded ponies, and two slightly ticked off ponies.
I’m sure you can guess which one is which.

Chpt 5. Research
Twilight was completely frozen from what she saw. A changeling just took out three ponies without even doing anything. She knew she sensed some strange magic going on with that changeling. The kidnappers were already gone, presumably to the hospital.
The rest of them were somewhat fine, though, at least they could speak, albeit incomprehensible.
-
With Paradox on my back, I continued through the forest with little other than one thought on my mind:
‘I need a defense against Celestia.’ While I knew I had heightened abilities, Celestia can move the freaking sun like it’s nothing. And I know that that massive explosion is going to draw Celestia’s attention, as nothing that could produce that level of destruction could ever pass under her radar, and that’s why I need to find something that can counter her level of magic should she think I'm a threat and attack me.
I pondered the question in my mind for a while, until I saw a small pond. It definitely wasn’t any pond I’ve ever seen from the show. I decided to practice some more magic here for a while.
“Ok, what are some spells I can remember from the show? Let’s see… there’s teleportation, cloud walking, shield spells… wow, my memory’s crap, I know there’s more than three.” I said to myself. Well, time to get started.
“You just sit there and watch.” I told Paradox. He sat down. Wow, does he know English? Like, I don’t think even a dog that’s had an owner for years is this good at understanding English. Anyway, I’m getting off track. Back to practicing magic… and flying, yeah that too.
I decided to start with shield spells, how different could they be from a molecular reinforcement spell?
Little did I know I would regret that statement later.
-
“Come on girls, we have to find him.” Twilight said to the rest.
Twilight fired up her tracking spell, and they were all on there way again.
-
I was on the ground, with a bit of fire coming from my horn. “What… the hell… happened?” Paradox just came over to me and nudged my side. Apparently decompressing air is a lot easier than compressing it. I tried to compress the air around me into a relatively thick sheet of air… didn’t work. “I need to get some books on spells if I’m going to be able to do anything more complicated.” I formed a plan in my head, and then headed off to my destination, telling Paradox to stay here at the pond.
-
The Mane 6 arrive at the pond, with the Timberwolf still sitting there. They all froze. It was tiny and was facing away from them, but that didn’t stop them from being scared of it. They went around it and continued walking. They kept following the trail until they reached Ponyville.
“What could he be doing in Ponyville?” Questioned Twilight worriedly.
Now they all were worried.
-
I was about to walk in the giant doors to Twilight’s castle as Twilight, but then stopped as I realized there was something wrong with my little research plan:
‘I don’t know where the library is in her castle.’
No one was looking, and I had two options: ABORT! Or look for the library and hope I don’t run into spike, or any guards. After pondering the question for a while, I decided on the latter.
I opened the door.
…
…
“Twilight? You're back already?” SHIT! I was caught.
“Yes. Yes I am.” I said with a unnoticably forced smile.
“What two colors were my birth egg?” Wasn’t expecting a changeling-exclusion question.
“Light purple with darker purple spots.”
“Correct. Come on in.” Spike moved to the side to let me in. I walked in.
“So did you find the changeling?” Spike asked.
“I did.” I answered.
“And is it a threat?”
“I found no evidence of it, now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go to the Library to study.” I said as I started walking down the right hallway.
“Uh, Twilight? The library’s that way.” Spike stated as he pointed the opposite direction. I blushed, or I would have if I PHYSICALLY KNEW HOW! In truth, I’ve never blushed before, not once, I’ve even tried on several occasions, but I digress, I’m getting off track again.
“Oh, right. It’s been a bit stressful trying to find the changeling and all, I guess I just forgot.” I explained.
“Whatever.” Spike just shrugged. “If you need me, I’ll be in the kitchen.”
I didn’t respond, I just nodded, and walked off to the direction Spike pointed out.
Little did I know, or hoped against at least, was that spike is a lot smarter than he let’s on.
-
“I tracked him all the way to the castle, I wonder what he’s doing in there.” Twilight said worriedly.
When they knocked on the door, Spike answered. Spike wasn’t surprised to see another Twilight, as he already knew the other Twilight is a fake.
“The changeling is here.” Was all he said.
“Where!?” All six of them asked at once.
“Library, I’ve been watching it from out of sight since it came here about an hour ago. It’s looking at magic books. So far the spells I’ve seen it researching are: teleportation, shield casting, and cloud walking. It hasn’t left the Library yet, except once to go to the bathroom.” Spike said with pride in his voice.
Twilight was shocked at how efficient spike was with this. “Ok, but how did you know he was a changeling in the first place?”
“When it first saw me, it had eyes with fear in them. When I asked if it found the changeling, it said ‘I did’ instead of ‘We did’. It went the wrong way to the library, and when I pointed the right direction out, it didn’t blush at its mistake as you usually do. It tried to explain that ‘it was under too much stress trying to find the changeling that it forgot’, first, you would never forgot where the library is, and second, even if you did forget where it is, you would still subconsciously know.” Spike said with even more pride in his voice. Twilight’s only comprehensible response was a mouth drop.
“I didn’t know you were…” Twilight couldn’t finish such an insulting sentence.
“That smart? Make sure you keep it a secret, in truth I study almost as much as you do when you’re not around.” Twilight just pulled spike into a hug.
“Alright, let’s find that changeling!” Twilight said.
-
“Teleportation: Check. Shield casting: Check. Cloud walking: Check.” I said somewhat bored. Of course the first book I looked at was the mind spell book, specifically to for a photographic memory spell, so I never forget the spells I learn here today.
I felt a shiver of fear run up my spine, I know that aura, as I’ve been using it for the last hour or so.
Twilight Sparkle has returned.
I knew how she of course found me, as I read all her notes for her tracking spell. She must have tracked me using it. I of course memorized the spell and burned the notes, without them Twilight will eventually forget the spell, and without her notes she won’t be able to recreate them.
I also looked up some luck enhancing spells, pony anatomy, a more efficient levitation spell, warmth and cold spells, and a few combat spells.
All in all I think it was a pretty educational day! Ugh, I feel like I’m betraying myself for thinking that.
But Twilight’s still getting closer, I needed to think of something. I also read her notes on the passive spells put upon the castle. No teleportation directly across the perimeter, the crystals are almost as hard as diamonds, so no just flying through the wall, and anything bigger than two square inches will be fried if it tries to go through the window. I also memorized the guard patrol routes and timetables. There’s only one way out, straight through the front door.
-
“He’s still in the library, come on.” Twilight said to her five closest friends and number one assistant.
They kept walking quietly to the library. Twilight could sense her own magical aura, which didn’t came as too much of a surprise, as Twilight knew if he was in her castle, then he would take her form.
They finally reached the door to the library, where she could hear books softly hitting the floor. Twilight whispered quietly to the rest of the group: “Is everyone ready?”
They all nodded and Twilight put her hoof on the door.
-
“She’s getting closer, and I still don’t have a plan.” I said quietly, as not to alert of her of my presence.
“Come on, think, think, thi-” I was cut off by an idea. I quickly arranged all the books into 3D maze shape. There was more than enough books for it, there must be at least 500,000 books in here.
Just then I heard the doorknob turning, this is it. This is either the end, or the beginning.

Let me know of any and all spelling/grammatical/punctuation errors, as I consider all of them cancer.
Chpt 6. Concerns put to Rest
Twilight slowly turned the doorknob, not sure what to expect with the soft noise he made. When the door knob wouldn’t turn anymore, she pushed the door.
What she saw was not what she expected, although she wasn’t sure what she was expecting, a six foot wide hallway of books wasn’t it.
“Wasn’t what you were expecting?” They all heard, but were unable to tell from where. The voice was definitely male, but not rough like the changeling’s normal voice, so he must of been using a unique design.
“Where are you?” Twilight shouted.
They heard a noise off to the side. Rainbow immediately shot through a two foot wide hole in the wall toward the noise. She stopped when the pathway broke off into two directions. Not knowing which way to go, she chose the one on the right, which lead to two more pathways. Each time she chose a path, it just broke off into more pathways.
“Rainbow, stop! We’re never going to find him in this maze like that!” Twilight yelled through the mountains of books.
“Well then how do you expect us to find him?” Rainbow asked as she was crawling out of the initial hole, a feat done using her amazing memory when flying.
“Like this.” The voice said. Just then the ones who were looking in the right direction saw a tanish blur zip between two pathways.
“Over there!” Applejack, Rarity, and Spike said. Everypony present immediately turned their heads towards where the three were pointing. “He went that way!” The three of them said at once. They immediately started running in that direction.
-
‘How stupid are they?’ I thought as I watched them through the Magical Observation Enchantment I strategically put on certain books throughout the maze. ‘Did they really just leave the door unguarded? Oh Twilight, you make this too easy.’ I thought again. I started to make my way to the door, having completely memorized the maze layout, it wasn’t hard.
I checked all the ‘cameras’, as I’m going to call them for simplicity, to make sure my way was clear. I instantly noticed not a single hallway leading to the door was unoccupied. ‘Why did I jinx myself?’ I thought. Why would I do that? I swear the Universe is going out of its way just to fuck me over. I needed to divert one of them to get the path clear. One thing is clear at least. ‘Don’t underestimate Twilight’s intelligence, that’s a good way to fuck yourself over.’
I refuse to hurt anyone, so replacing one of them is out of the question. I checked back on the cameras. ‘There's my opening, Twilight isn’t even paying attention to the hallway, she’s just staring at the wall.’ I started making my towards her hallway, planning to sneak past her quietly and fly if she notices.
There’s a reason I told myself not to underestimate Twilight.
-
‘He should've randomized the book order, if this organization pattern keeps up through the whole maze, it won’t be hard tracking him down.’ Twilight thought as she continued eyeing the book pattern before she heard a sound behind her. It was a light page ruffling sound. She quickly turned around, fully expecting to find the changeling.
She was… sorta right.
The disguised changeling form staring back at her was a pegasus with a light tan colored coat, and a slightly glossy somewhat short light brown mane and tail with a slight curl. His eyes were a slightly darkish yellow, easily mistakable for hazel by an untrained eye. He was wearing a light grey, very close to silver, chestpiece that ended just above the base of his neck and just before the middle of his barrel, with bright red edges at the ends.
“Um… hi?” He said to Twilight.
-
That didn’t go as planned. “Um… hi?” I said with a dry mouth in a desperate attempt to calm the situation, ready to flee in a microsecond if need be. I saw her horn glow for a split second, indicating that she cast a spell. I quickly did a scan on the magic code, hoping it was a spell that I learned a while ago.
It wasn’t, or at least she knew I would try and decipher it and coded it.
That didn’t sit well with my stomach, not knowing what she could be doing. Neither I nor she moved for what felt like an hour. I couldn’t even tell what she was looking at me with. It was a poker face, the one face I can’t decrypt. I didn’t dare to do more than just breath, worried the slightest movement would set her off. I suddenly snapped out of it when I heard hoofsteps down the book lined corridor. I immediately turned my head towards the sound. I couldn’t see any details, but I could see: Orange, blue, or cyan to be exact, a rainbow, yellow, pink, white, and purple. I Instantly realized what the spell did.
Hopefully I don’t have to fight them.
-
Twilight just stared at the disguised changeling. She cast a spell to alert her friends she found him. She didn’t even move until her friends finally caught up to her.
“So ya found it?” Applejack started when she got closer.
“Yes, I did.” Twilight answered.
“So, what are you gonna do with it?” Rainbow inquired.
“Like I said, ask it some questions.” Twilight replied.
-
“Like I said, ask it some questions.” I instantly untensed at that, now learning I’m not going to have to send them to the hospital. But what questions? I only hope I don’t have to explain mass x acceleration + magic = nuclear explosion. But I’d like to see the look on her face if I do, so I won’t avoid it if it comes up.
I was thinking so hard that I didn't even notice that a makeshift table of books was forming, when I found myself on a chair… somehow… I snapped out of deep thought mode.
-
Twilight and the still disguised changeling sat at the table with her friends around just in case something went haywire. Mainly him blowing up, again.
Twilight began the questioning. “Ok, it’s pretty obvious you’re not a normal changeling, so what in Tartarus are you?” Everyone present except Paladin winced at her strong language.
He didn’t respond, except writing dots and dashes on a piece of paper he conjured up.
“..-. ..- -. -. -.-- / -.-- --- ..- / ... .... --- ..- .-.. -.. / .- ... -.- / - .... .- - --..-- / - .-- .. .-.. .. --. .... - --..-- / .. / .-- --- ..- .-.. -.. / . -..- .--. . -.-. - / -.-- --- ..- / - --- / -... . / ... --- / -... .-. .. --. .... - .-.-.- / .-- .... .. .-.. . / .. / -.. --- -. .----. - / --.- ..- .. - . / -.- -. --- .-- / - .... .- - / .- -.-. - ..- .- .-.. .-.. -.-- --..-- / .. / -.-. .- -. / - . .-.. .-.. / -.-- --- ..- / .. - .----. ... / -. --- - / .-- .... .- - / -.-- --- ..- .-. / ..-. .-. .. . -. -.. / ... . -.-. .-. . - .-.. -.-- / .--. .-.. . .- .-.-.-”
“Wait, you know horse code?” Twilight asked with wonder. She immediately decoded it faster than Paladin even encoded it. She then grew disappointed. “Well, that’s good and all, but how could you not know what you are? And what’s with the rhyming?” Paladin again began to scribble.
“-- . -. - .- .-.. / . -..- . .-. -.-. .. ... . --..-- / -... ..- - / .. / -.-. .- -. / ... - --- .--. / .. ..-. / -.-- --- ..- / - .... .. -. -.- / - .... . -.-- .----. .-. . / .-.. .. . ... .-.-.- / .. / .... .- ...- . / - .... . --- .-. .. . ... / .- -... --- ..- - / -- -.-- / --- .-. .. --. .. -. ... / .- -. -.. / .... ..- -. --. . .-. .----. ... / .- -... ... . -. -.-. . --..-- / -... ..- - / .-- .. - .... --- ..- - / ... --- .-.. .. -.. / . ...- .. -.. . -. -.-. . / -- -.-- / - .... . --- .-. .. . ... / -.-. .- -. -. --- - / -.-. --- -. -.. . -. ... . .-.-.-”
“Half of that doesn’t even make sense.” Twilight protested.
“... .- -.- . / --- ..-. / - .... . / .-. .... -.-- -- .”
“Whatever, whether or not you’re really a changeling is irelavent. Are you a threat?”
“-- -.-- / -. .- -- . / .. ... / -. --- - / .- / .-.. .. . .-.-.-”
“Paladin? But what’s your cause then?”
“.--. .-. --- - . -.-. - .. --- -. .-.-.-”

“So what’s your real name, I know Paladin isn’t it.”

“Fine, but we're continuing this tomorrow.” Twilight said firmly.
-
After a bit more talking, I finally rearranged all the books back on Twilight’s shelves and removed the enchantments I had on them. Of course Twilight checked to make sure they were in place, which she was surprised when not a single one of them was out of place. She asked me how I did it, which I told her about all of the studying I did in the library, which included the photographic memory spell, which I removed right after the meeting.
I changed back into my normal form. We were about to walk out the door, before I remembered something. ‘Her tracking spell notes.’ I instantly rewrote the notes without even looking at them from halfway across the castle, and set them down in the exact same spot they were when I burned them, best not let Twilight know that.
We walked out the door, only to be pulled away with an orange aura, one I recognize all too well.
Princess Celestia officially thinks I’m a threat.
‘SHIT!’

Chpt 7. You Can't Hold Me
Author's Notes:
This chapter is shit, don't even think about thinking otherwise. It was horribly written, not long as I'd like it to be, and to top it all off I CANNOT BUCKING WRITE AN ANGRY CELESTIA!
And it's also rushed as shit.
Let me know of any and all spelling/grammatical/punctuation errors, as I consider all of them cancer.
‘SHIT!’ was the last thing I could think before I was suddenly teleported.
I ended up in white square room, with what looked like tiles for the walls as I can see the lines between them, with no windows, and one door. I guess Celestia teleported elsewhere, considering she’s nowhere to be seen.
“Torture room, didn’t think the princess had it in her.” I said.
“This is not a torture room, it’s an interrogation room.” I heard Celestia’s voice in my head.
“Well, can’t say for talking equines with improper anatomy, but If I’m in a room that’s all white, It’s considered psychological torture.” I said in hopes to annoy the shit out of her. I heard grunt, which I can only assume means it’s working.
“What do you mean ‘improper anatomy’?” I heard her say.
“Not going there. No way no how.” I replied.
“You will tell us if you plan on getting out of here any time soon.”
“Oh please, I could break out of here in 30 seconds flat if I wanted.” That should get her angry. There was a long pause before she decided to speak again.
“Try.” Did she just taunt me? DID SHE JUST BUCKING TAUNT ME!? I was never good with insults, but if can hold back my anger… somewhat, if someone’s ’holding me down’ as you could call it. But since no one else is here to get in my way or could possibly get hurt, no reason in holding back, right?
I scanned the walls for… there! Misaligned panels on the wall, indicating a one way window or something behind that wall. I started walking towards it. When I arrived, I put a hoof on the right side of the line, and tapped it.
Cling. Glass.
I moved my hoof to the other side and did the same.
Thump. Wall.
All I needed to know. Just for fun I changed and added a white lab coat on my natural form.
“Observation room behind hidden one way window, how cute.” To which I heard a gasp, to which I rolled my eyes in response.
I moved towards the middle of the ‘wall’, and got to thinking about how I could break it and looking badass while doing it.
‘Nuclear explosion? Too flashy, and could blow up half the mountain. Assuming I’m in Canterlot, that is. Buck it? Not flashy enough. Vibrate through the molecules? Too… flash. Just, wow, that pun. Melt it? I’d need to know which type of glass it is… TRIAL AND ERROR IT IS!’
“Ok, maybe not 30 seconds, but faster than you can imagine.” I said. I quickly performed a few molecular scan spells, but I didn’t pick up anything I recognized. Enchanted maybe? Probably. I thought the situation over for a few seconds before I got an idea.
I almost immediately performed a sub-atomic scan on the glass to look for anything that could be interfering with the atomic structure of the wall. My eyes went wide at what I found. Each and every atom was covered in a orange aura, which seemed to be giving off incorrect measurements for my scanning spell. I was PISSED. NO one, messes with MY domain in science. Subatomic energy research was my occupation. I was so angry I didn’t even notice I was growling like a madman, but quickly took notice seconds later.
“No one…” I took a step back. “Messes…” I prepared a total meltdown spell. (A spell which simulates the temperature of the core of the sun, while keeping the user unharmed.) “With my…” I aimed for the wall, and prayed to all gods in every religion that Celestia was the only one behind that window.
“SCIENCE!!” I screamed and fired the spell.
-
Celestia was sitting in the observation room, almost unable to comprehend what she just witnessed.
“No one… messes…” At that moment, she sense the changeling preparing a spell she hasn’t had to use in over a millenia. Total meltdown. She turned around to address the two guards standing behind her.
“You need to leave, seal off the entire complex, and inform Prince Armor to cast heat shields on every surface within the area.” She commanded. The guards were about to protest about leaving their princess unguarded, but they were quickly teleported involuntarily to Shining Armor.
“With my… SCIENCE!!” Celestia knew she could survive such temperatures, but she also knew there were other ponies here who could not. She cast several layers of shield spells of all types, but she didn’t have a talent for shields and wasn’t as effective as Shining at doing so.
…
…
And everything went white. Celestia covered her eyes with her hooves to prevent going blind. She was left weak after trying to keep the shield spells up and failing, which took much more out of her than expected. When the whiteness finally subsided, she opened her eyes, and almost fainted at the sight of a changeling smiling devilishly.
“Told you so. Oh, and don’t worry about anyone else who was in the complex, I traced the metal you used to create that room to every edge of the site, and teleported everyone out. Might I add, you have a pretty nice secret underground laboratory here, I’m almost jealous.” He said, before turning around. “But it doesn’t have a hyper-advanced, super-intelligent A.I. like mine does, or did rather, considering I’ll never see it again.” He said again, before turning around back towards Celestia. “I’m an intelligent creature, not just by animal standards, I was one of the smartest beings on the planet, even more so on this one. I’m not your enemy, Celestia, and if you think about making me one…” He said before turning around… again. “I might just have to comply.” And then he teleported to who knows where.
Celestia was left dumbfounded and too tired to respond, only capable of thinking about what he said. Hyper-advanced, super-intelligent A.I.? Never see it again? One of the smartest beings on the planet? Even more so on this one? What does that mean?

“I think that could’ve gone better.” I said out loud as I petted Paradox. “Let’s see, I have trixie to visit in the hospital, you to take care of, a potential entire nation against me. It’s been a long day.” I said as I started making my way to my makeshift bed, and went to sleep, Paradox of course right next to me. The moon was just coming up as I drifted off to sleep.
Chpt 8. Plot and Preperation
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU LOST THEM!?” Chrysalis yelled at the cowering changeling general.
“W-well th-there was a-a rogue changeling that messed up our plans,” replied said cowering changeling general.
“Did it have a number?”
“Changeling 5613463.”
Chrysalis’ eyes went wide. “But...but...but…” Chrysalis started, but was unable to find the words. “Bring 5613463 here,” Chrysalis simply said.
The changeling general saluted and walked off to get a squad. But before he left the room, he turned around to ask something.
“If I may ask, your highness, who exactly is 5613463?”
“5613463 is the one of the only ones in the entire hive that could passively feed off love, due to an extremely rare genetic mutation. He was sent on a mission to gather love by being near ponies, to feed it back to the hive. Out of 23 Changelings that could do that, about 3 are in our hive.” Chrysalis
The changeling general saluted and walked off to get a squad… again.
-
I woke up to the sound of hoofsteps… again. But something about these were… off. I just couldn’t put my finger on it, though. I decided to just wait it out to see if they were lost or something.
“This way.” I heard one of them say in a voice that sounded way too much like a crystal guard to not be a crystal guard.
‘Well, if they have malicious intentions, at least I know I’m not in too much danger. I mean I can freakin’ nuke the place,’ I thought.
Ok, I have two choices: See what they want, and if they’re out to get me: nuke the place. Orrrrrr: Run.
Something about the former makes me tingle.
I hope I’m not turning sadistic.
But before I confront them, I should at least see if I’m their target. ‘Make a noise only a changeling could make.’
Buzzzzzz
I vibrated my wings at the appropriate frequency for a loud enough noise that they could hear me, but not loud enough if they weren’t focusing on me.
“Over there!” I could hear from another. It was completely monotone and filled with… I actually haven’t tried to see if I could read emotions yet. Not that I know how anyway.
“Found you.” Curse deep thought mode. Although i’m not very good at reading emotions, that wasn’t the ‘I hate you’ kind of voice, that was the ‘I really don’t give a shit’ kind of voice.
I turned around when I felt breathe on my neck, only to stare in those all too familiar light purple eyes. Well, maybe not for casual fans, but for me, who is completely obsessed with the show, it isn’t hard for me to remember fine details. Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
“Could you not?” He slowly began moving back.
“Sorry, just needed to get your attention.” Ok, something isn’t right if they're saying ‘sorry’ to a changeling. “Princess Cadence requests your presence in the Crystal Empire.” That was a little too unhostile for something not to be up.
“Whatever.” Hopping off my haunches, I followed the guard, which didn’t even show up with a whole platoon or with the intention to put me down, just one other guard.
Ok, something is definitely up.
“Sup,” the other guard said. Wait… that doesn’t sound like uniformed guard speech patterns.
“Sup,” the first guard said.
-
Ok, I’m in the Crystal Empire, and not a single gives a shit that I’m here, but the citizens are glaring like it’s nobody’s business, wonder why. Oh, and it’s also almost sundown.
It didn’t take long to reach the doors to the castle, which was just one of the corners holding it up. How does that thing not fall under it’s own weight? I will never know, also it’s a lot bigger on the inside, damn you Tardis magic!
Anyway, getting off track, we stepped through, which was probably the most weird part about my entire time here, which does include me getting struck by lightning and teleported across dimensions. Which was, whenever we passed by a guard, they would salute while looking directly at my face. Whatever, I just keep walking past them until we reach the throne room. The two guards at the sides of the door magicked it opened and we walked through.
“Ah, hello there, Techree. I trust my husband’s guards didn’t give you too much trouble?” Princess Cadence, who was on the throne, obviously. ‘Wait wait wait all the fuckin waits. When the hell did I ever mention that name to anyone?' I raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t recall telling you about that. In fact I don’t recall ever seeing you recently enough to tell you about that.” I said with narrowed eyes.
Cadence facehoofed. “I knew when Shining threw you out you would hit your head on something.” Which made me facehoof.
“Memory loss?” I asked.
“Memory loss.”
“Well then, what exactly did you tell me that I may have forgotten?” Cadence got off her throne and walked to the side while motioning me to follow. And of course I did follow.
When we were out of earshot, Cadence started talking.
“Anyway, as I was saying, before Shining bucked you out the window, I basically pulled you from another dimension to learn about it,” she said like we were talking about everyday topics.
I just shrugged my shoulders. “I’m not even going to argue with that.” Which made Cadence stop moving and turn to me.
“Your taking this rather well…”
“I assume you were planning on sending me back, right?”
“Well, yeah, I was in the process of performing the spell when Shining burst through the doors and, without thinking, bucked you out the window.”
“That dumbass,” was the only reply I could think of at the time, along with a face hoof.
“Due to the circumstances I’m going to let that slide, or I’d have to blast you to pieces.”
“Like you even could, I broke out of Celestia’s secret base with only one spell.”
Ok, I can freaking feel the smugness coming right off her right now. “You wanna go?” she said.
I thought about it for a minute, before just deciding what the hell and go along with it. “Sure, but I don’t we should fight in the city, I don’t think there would be a city if we did.”
“We hundreds of miles outside the city for it.”
“Oh what the hell. Did you hear about that big blue light above the Everfree?”
“I could feel it.”
“That was me.” Cadence flinched with an expression of absolute horror.
“THAT WAS YOU!? I thought the dragon blew up or something!"
It was my turn to feel smug. “Oh, it did, just not on it’s own accord,” I said, before continuing to walk, a few seconds later Cadence did the same.
“I feel a sudden urge not to fight you anymore,” she said with a sad expression.
“Bring Celestia, I’m sure she would like some revenge”
Cadence brightened up. “Will do, what time?”
“Tomorrow, just before sunset, it’ll give Celestia a slight advantage if she doesn’t have to divide her attention for long.”
“I suppose that makes sense. Oh, and, if we’re going to fight and all that, I may not be able to perform the spell to get you home for a couple of days.”
“That’s fine, I like it here anyway… although did you have to make me a changeling?”
“I couldn’t control what you came as!”
“Whatever, just make sure to tell Shining about the fight, I don’t want him showing up with a ton of guards just to blow up from what I assume will be out very epic battle.”
Cadence grimaced. “Will do.”
Anyway, we continued walking until Cadence had to go back to throne room to finish court, and she told me to ask a guard if I needed anything, which I wanted to know where I could sleep, and also if they allowed pets, which they do, btw.
I flew out the window and headed to the Everfree to pick up Paradox, which was a long ways off even at almost rainboom speeds. Anyway, it was almost midnight when I came back with him. At first the maid, which was cleaning my room, almost peed herself when she saw a timberwolf, but I assured her it was fine and she calmed down a bit.
Better get my sleep, don’t want to be drowsy for my battle with two freaking alicorns…
… I’m starting to wonder if this is a good idea or not.
Eh, buck it, it's a good idea.

Reveal plot yessssss?
Chpt 9. The battle. [A bit overpoweredness]
Ok, I know you want to see the fight, so let’s skip all the boring stuff. Cadence informed Celestia of our dual and decided to join in, making it 2v1, I also said Celestia can bring Luna and/or Twilight into this if she’s feeling unsure, but she declined. I’m actually kind of disappointed; it would’ve been cool to fight all four alicorn princesses at once, but t’was not to be. So nothing really happened today. Luna and Twilight will be watching from very far away, hopefully several miles.
It’s about six o’clock, me and Celestia and Cadence are on opposite ends of the battlefield, ready to battle all out, which I informed that it’s no holds back, btw, except killing obviously, as Cadence is my only way home.
Also, I went to the royal library to research some more offensive spells. So, I’m here, with my spells in mind, which are: MR, Foresight, and Mana Stack, which would build up my mana pool over time, and the more I devoted to it the faster it builds, which I devoted basically all of mine. So now my magic’s like bucking insanely high.
“ARE THE COMBATANTS READY?” Ow, I can hear Luna’s RCV all the way from here, and they’re like 2 miles away. I didn’t even research the RCV, although I’m sure I could figure out a fake version in a minute or two. I see Celestia nod from about 1,000 feet away and I do the same, although I’m not exactly sure how Luna could see us from there.
“Then the fight will begin in three!”
I applied my MR spell.
“Two”
I applied Foresight.
“One”
“FIGHT!”
A beam of magic. I don’t exactly know how I knew that, but I just knew, I just felt it, ya’know?
I side stepped just as a thick beam of magic flew exactly where I was standing. It wouldn’t have killed me anyway, I just like being the badass that I am and not even get hit.
I suddenly felt like Cadence would try to hit me directly, and, sure enough, as I side stepped again, Cadence flew right where I was again. After she missed, she slowed down and turned around, facing me. I felt another beam behind me and side stepped, which made the beam singe a few hairs from Cadence’s mane, who was flying at me now. I felt Celestia coming up behind me and I flew straight up to avoid it and below me Celestia and Cadence crashed into each other.
After they stopped their worlds from spinning, they Celestia shot up to me, with Cadence right after her. I decided this is where I make my first moved. Right as Celestia passed me, I grabbed her by the shoulders. Using her momentum, I flipped her back down to crash right into Cadence again, but she was to quick and teleported right behind me. Even with foresight I wasn’t fast enough to evade her beam of magic.
Ow that hurts. Like, a lot. Anyway, I landed in the snow after a few seconds of falling. I could hear them landing a few feet away from me.
“Give up yet?” I could hear in a smug tone from Cadence.
“Oh, but we’re just getting started,” I said as I started to get up, and when Celestia landed right beside Cadence.
“YEILD!” Celestia screamed.
“Not a chance, Sunbutt,” I responded, before I took off to the sky, with them right behind me.
I started dodging and weaving lazas like it’s nobody's business. I turned around a shot a few of my own, none of which hit. Instead, I flew right at them with them doing the same. Two thick beams of magic shot from below me and I responded by doing the same. The beams below me combined and collided with mine.
I can’t really put words here to describe the sound it made, so just imagine some DBZ shiz all up in here. Anyway, so I’m here, using pretty much all I have to keep their beam from gaining distance. It wasn’t enough and their beam slowly started gaining up on me, so right before it would of hit me, I simply moved of of the way and watched in awe at the explosion that it made.
As Celestia tried to hit me with her own hoof, I side stepped again. I wasted no time in pulling her over me and slammed my hoof in her back as I got behind her. I wasn’t paying attention and Cadence came up behind me and pushed me out of the way with another beam of magic.
“He’s toying with us,” Celestia said.
“What!? He almost broke your back. How can you say he’s toying with us!?” Cadence asked in disbelief.
“Because, he held back from that hit, I could feel it.” Celestia said, before turning to me. “STOP TOYING WITH US!!” she said before launching herself at me, with Cadence in tow.
“You want me to get serious!? FINE! I WILL!” I retorted angrily.
I flew at them while they flew at me. Right before we hit, I quickly teleported behind Celestia.
My world felt like it was going in slow motion as my hoof made contact with Celestia’s back again, but this time much harder. I could feel the shockwave. I could hear the bones crack. I could see the blood. My world suddenly sped up back to reality as she started falling down.
‘That’s gonna hurt in the morning.’
I looked over to Cadence, expecting a revenge blow, but the only thing that greeted me was a horrified princess with a bit of a jaw drop.
“What? Never seen blood?” I said with a smirk. I knew Celestia needed help, and even though I’m technically her enemy right now, I can’t really let her get permanently hurt, or I might make all of Equestria an enemy.
Also Luna. Don’t mess with an angry Luna.
I flew down to Celestia, intent on healing her. I landed, and performed a diagnostics spell.
‘Three fractured ribs, two dislocated vertebra, ruptured stomach. Damn, I really did a number on her.’
I needed to do something quick, and decided to use logical use of levitation to it's finest.
I leaned up towards her face, which was coughing up a bit of blood.
“The pain you are about to feel will make Hell itself look like a joke, but it won’t last long, I promise.” I said, to which I could see her nod silently.
I pulled my magic over her midsection, and started moving the individual cells back to where they should be. The bloodcurdling scream she let out would make a banshee look ashamed to call itself ‘scary’. Then, as fast as it came, it ended.
“Better?” I asked her, as she started to get up.
“I feel fine, but how did you do that? Medical spells usually take at least a day to finish,” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Oh, that wasn’t a medical spell. I just moved the individual cells, with simple levitation, back to their original position,” I stated smugly.
“That’s… oh… well… I’ll keep that in mind.” I could feel the confusion pouring off her face.
“Anyway, I think you’re out of this fight. I gotta get back to my now duel with Cadence, or see if she want to end it now and call it a tie.” I sped off before she could respond.
“AYE! CADENCE! You saw what I did to Celestia, do you want to stop fighting and call it a tie? Or keep fighting and go through what Celestia went through?” I asked, which finally broke her out of her stupor.
“Wha… oh… uh… yeah… I think… I’ll… go with that,” she said with a stutter.
We came down in front of Celestia a few feet away, who was being questioned by Luna and Twilight, probably about her injuries. Celestia turned towards me.
“I’m guessing she took the offer?” Celestia asked.
“Yep. I’d hate to face the wrath of Shining Armor if he found out I put his wife in the hospital. Or Luna’s if I didn’t heal you,” I said.
We all stood there in silence for a minute, before the snow finally got on my nerves.
“Welp, I’m goin’ back to the castle. I’d suggest you do the same if you don’t want to freeze to death.” I said, right before I teleported back to my room, which startled a maid cleaning up my room. I hugged her and went to sleep when she left.
I may of noticed the shadows moving, but I was so tired I didn’t care.
