She knew it was coming. King Bullion was becoming elderly, and she was nearly an adult. Equestria has seen peace for a thousand years now. The signs lined up for the prophecy to come true. But she didn't know where this darkness would come from, in what form, and when. Nor did she know who this chosen bearer would be, and how they would meet.

She'll find out soon enough, as she attends the public execution of the Pegasus criminal mastermind; Twilight Sparkle.

If anyone's wondering about the cover-art, I literally just took a screenshot of the last frame Twilight has her eyes closed when she first appears as an Alicorn in MMC and removed the horn & wings.

Might need a gore tag. Not sure yet.
