Celestia's faithful student has been living in Canterlot for many years of her life, and even after that much time since becoming Celestia's fine student, there was still times when the curiosity of such a seeker of knowledge would guide her off to places not many ponies tread. Many areas of Canterlot can easily be recognized by the general public, from foals, to the highest authority, though some areas remained as ancient relics to the Princesses, and Canterlot's founding.

On one of these curiosity-driven investigations, a young Twilight Sparkle ventured off into one of the more ancient and secluded areas of Canterlot. While it is not the first time the filly has done such a thing, it is the first time it led to such an unexpected meeting. . .
