Chapter 18: The Party, The Meltdown, and the Element of Generosity

The next had arrived, and that day was the Welcome New Students Party. Everyone arrived in the gym and could see Pinkie's decorations all scattered across the walls and ceilings to brighten up the room. Along with the decorations, Vinyl Scratch was sitting at a table with her equipment playing music to make the party go on, a disco ball was spinning around shining lights, and all of the new students went to mingle with the already attending students. Celestia and Cinch watched as everyone was enjoying themselves, and continued to help unload the food.

"I must say Principal Celestia, Canterlot High certainly knows how to party."

"We have thrown a few parties from time to time."

In Twilight's lab she was attempting to fix Toxigo's arm but had little to no luck. The technology that was built into it was difficult to understand and she was only making it worse and worse trying to fix it. "Sunset I can't fix it. I haven't seen this kind of technology before and I don't know how to fix it."

"How did he ever manage to fix this?" Sunset asked.

Rainbow Dash then entered the room, took a look at the arm, and then responded with "I think I know how. He used his own mind to make the metal bend back into shape I think. I was there when he did it. But as for how it bends back into shape, I don't know."

"It bends back, like this." Came a voice out of nowhere.

Suddenly the metal on Toxigo's arm started bending back into shape forming its normal self again. The finger circuits and wires reconnected, the control panel buttons started going back into their sockets, and the metal covered itself back up again. Then it levitated into the air and violently reconnected with Toxigo as he moved it until it was back to normal. Then opening one menacing yellow eye he faced them. "Sorry I ran off like that yesterday."

"Don't be, it wasn't your fault." Twilight responded.

"Are you okay?" Sunset asked while also grabbing him in a strong hug. Toxigo wrapped his arms around her back exchanging a hug as well, and responded. "I'm fine. Glad my arm's back though. I'm sorry to run off like that, I didn't mean to worry you."

"I just hoped you were okay. And I'm glad to see you're alright." Sunset said with a smile.

"Thanks Shimmer-cakes. So, is there anything I missed?"

"A little bit, but we'll explain later. Any chance you can follow me?"

"Sure, I guess."

Sunset led Toxigo to a room where she tried experimenting on the girls to see how their magic worked but failed horribly, and she led Toxigo into the room where she stayed in while trying to experiment on Rainbow Dash, and then the minute he walked in Sunset immediately closed the door and locked it. Toxigo looked back and tried speaking but the room was soundproof. Luckily Twilight activated a sound system so they could talk to him and hear him.

"Sorry, can you say that again?" Sunset asked.

"I said, why did you lock me in here?"

"Because we needed you in there for something."

"For what?"

At that moment, the five Shadowbolt girls walked into the room where he was, and they got locked in as well.

"No no no no no no no! Why'd you lock them in here with me!?"

"Because they wanted to apologize."

"I don't want to hear it!"

Sunset groaned at what she had heard. But then with a gentle voice to Twilight, "Can you keep an eye on them for a few minutes? I'm going to step out for a bit."

"Of course." Twilight responded.

So then Sunset left the room and walked over to the gym where the girls were hanging out in. Everyone was enjoying the party and not a single interruption had occurred. They watched as guests were enjoying the music, the food, and all of the festivities around them. But then Rainbow came charging to them with a look of worry.

"That supposed robot double of me is back again." Rainbow said.

They looked and saw the double of Rainbow Dash enter in, dressed in black war boots, long blue and somewhat shredded pants tucked into them along with a lightning bolt belt buckle. She also had on a white tank top with a gear shooting a lightning bolt on it. She also had her hair extended out which was covering the right side of her face, and from the bit of black that was on the side underneath the rainbow hair they could tell she was wearing an eye-patch, and her left eye was shown to be orange instead of magenta. The double looked around for a bit and then walked on the outside of the crowd and went through the double doors down into the hallways, and the girls then followed after her. The double Rainbow Dash then walked in with her black war boots into the room where Twilight was hanging at, and everyone else came in.

"Well we found the double of Rainbow Dash. Any chance you can do a scan on her?"

"Sure, I guess." Twilight responded. She then pulled out the pendant which did a quick scan on her, but the results came back saying 'Android'. She scanned again and again and again, but she got the same results. "I think we'll be safe guys. Whoever, she is, isn't someone from Equestria, and she hasn't done anything to cause us harm."

The robot continued to stand still and stared back at the group, but then looked at Toxigo standing far away from the Shadowbolt girls which got everyone's attention.

"How long have they been like this?" Applejack asked.

"Only 10 minutes, but I don't think its good for them to be alone too long. We know he's got magic in his arm, and what if he uses it against them? He could possibly kill them." Twilight replied with worry.

Rainbow then thought of an idea and fired up the laptop next to the control panel. Then going onto YouTube she pulled up a video. "I think this will get them to talk to each other." She hit play with a cyan finger and soon the audio began carrying over in the small booth room.

"Next on TMZ..."

All six of them immediately freaked out at what they were hearing. "No!" Tox yelled banging his fists against the glass. "Don't play that! Those who watch that show lose their minds and become stupid!!!" Even the girls were freaking out over what they were hearing.

"I was hanging out with Countess Coloratura once and they stalked her around! They called her a mean lady when she wanted them to stop asking questions that were just wrong and way too personal!" yelled Lemon Zest

"We won't keep you all in there if you promise to make up!"

"Make up!? Why would I make up with them!?" Tox yelled in anger and then transformed his arm into a cannon, and all five of them backed up in fear raising their arms in surrender and all were clearly terrified. "All of you from day one kept on bullying me and tried to make my life living Tartarus! You didn't care about how I feel, and you never did! And suddenly now you want to see I'm okay? I'm sure you'll get brownie points for doing that!"

"Um, Tox? Dearie... you're not gonna kill us? Are you?" Sunny asked sounding scared and looking absolutely terrified as she clenched onto Sour Sweet's hand.

"Oh I'm going to do more than kill you Flare. I've wanted to attack you all for so long after everything you've done, and its time that all of you learn that you should never mess with an entity from another dimension!"

"Girls? I think we've made him worse..." Sour Sweet said scared.

"Worse? Oh I'm much more than worse Sour Lips. I should be thanking you for what you've done. All of your harassment has made me stronger and more powerful than ever before. But I think hurting you for your abuse, blackmail, and stupidity is worth much more. And now that I've got a weapon in my system, you all are finally going to pay for what you've done... And I will... I..."

Tox tried pointing his arm straight where the shot would be fired from but he couldn't control it. He was shaking up, and he couldn't get himself to shoot them.

"I... ERGH!!!!!!! I can't do it! I can't get myself to shoot a bunch of soulless, lowlife, teenagers! I cannot get myself to kill a human being, and I never will! But I hope you understand that I wish you went to the gates of Tartarus and I hope that Lord Tirek sucks all the life out of you!"

He then fired the blast against the wall which shot down the door. Once the smoke had cleared, they could see Tox was on the floor crying from the pain and anger. Then out of nowhere, Indigo slowly moved towards him and held him in a hug.

"I am so sorry... I know you don't forgive us and I don't expect you to, but... I am sorry!" Indigo said as tears came out. Suddenly Sugarcoat started tearing up as well and crouched down to where they are.

"I.. I'm actually blunt to you and everyone because, my mother told me honesty was the best key. She told me that after finding out that my adult brother had gotten kicked out of college for blowing something up. Eventually she ranted and raved and told me to be 100% honest with her for the rest of my days. I... I never wanted to say anything hurtful to you, I just thought... I don't know anymore." Sugarcoat said with tears coming from her, and she then joined in on the hug as well. It wasn't long until Sour Sweet joined as well.

"I shouldn't have been mean either. I may act like I'm bipolar, but actually, I only act mean because I didn't want people to see me as a pushover. So whenever I start to be nice, I ended up being mean. And... Now I see me being mean has almost destroyed you!" Sour yelled and cried at the same time, and then she joined in as well. Soon Lemon and Sunny joined in and all 6 were then hugging each other. Eventually after a little bit, they all calmed down and got themselves back up. Toxigo then cleared his face of his crying emotion and they all began talking like mature adults.

"Toxy I understand if you don't want to forgive us easily. We don't expect you to, and you didn't deserve our abuse. And if you hate us, I understand."

Toxigo then paused for a moment to breath in and out, and then talked back, looking her in the eyes. "I don't hate you Zappy. I am however still mad at you that you all got away with it. But, if you all really want to make it up, you're going owe me. Big time."

"I understand Toxy. And we kind of made a start for it."

"How so Zappy?"

"We heard that you were getting harassed by the hospital for not having enough money to pay for your medical bills for the robotic limb replacements, so we all chipped in and used our money to pay for your bill. You won't have to worry about them anymore dearie." Sunny Flare replied.

Toxigo then gave a bit of a weak smile and looked at Flare and said, "Thank you, Flare. All of you, for that."

"Not a problem dude."

"No worry at all."

So the group then exited out of the booth still clearing their faces from tears, but were shown to be okay.

"So, are you guys okay?"

"I'll be fine Sunset. They still have a lot to do if they're going to earn my respect though. But I suppose for now I can drop the grudge."

Sunset then gave a smile back and a head movement that was suggesting to look behind him. So the Shadowbolts and Tox turned to see the android Rainbow Dash. The Shadowbolt girls all gave a small yell of "AH!" and backed off. Tox however moved forward and tried to see if he could get a better look. He observed the android but he couldn't tell anything about it. He slowly walked around it, observing every square inch as possible, but so far nothing.

"Where exactly did you see her?" Tox asked raising a brow.

"She appeared during the Friendship Games redo round. Twilight ran a scan on her, she's a robot." Sunset finished.

"What makes you say that?"

"When her skin was torn off she had bronze metal revealed and she looks exactly like Rainbow Dash." Twilight responded.

Tox looked back at the blue skinned automaton who just stood there looking at him. She didn't make any movement, and the minute Tox started moving to the door, she followed after him. But because he didn't know what to do, he said, "I don't know where you came from, but you should go home. Okay?"

"Okay."

The robot then walked out of the room and exited out of the school.

After a bit of questioning their world's logic, they walked back to the gym and joined in on the party. Soon they all sat at a table and continued to talk.

"So, they have to earn his respect if he's going to fully forgive them?" Applejack asked.

"Yep. Simple as that."

"Well at least you're all finally making up. Heaven forbid we have another rivalry fight again." Rarity replied.

Everyone nodded at that, and proceeded to join in on the party festivities. The group sitting at the table watched as the Shadowbolts jammed out and had fun with everyone in the disco shining party. Tox heard Abacus Cinch call for his name, and he walked over to talk to her.

"Yes Principal Cinch?"

"First of all I'd like to apologize for not doing anything to stop all of the bullying you had to deal with all of the years. I should never have run Crystal Prep with the idea of being one on top and having no mercy that it drove them to the point of abusing anyone that stood in their way."

"I don't understand the logic behind that, but keep going." Tox replied.

"But most importantly, I am glad to see you're alright. It's probably for the best you come here to Canterlot High. It seems they understand a lot more on the concept of being proper than anyone at Crystal Prep. But if there's anything you need or want to talk about, my door is always open."

"Thank you Abacus Cinch. Although I must ask, what was going on in your head when you were gonna have Twilight unleash the magic?"

"That was all my anger and competition side speaking. My mind wasn't in the right place at the time and I should have known better to not mess with a power you don't understand nor control."

"Okay. Just promise you won't do something like that again?"

Giving a friendly smile, Abacus looked at Tox and said. "That is a promise, I plan to keep."

Tox gave a smile to Abacus, and then proceeded to have a seat at the table with everyone else as they enjoyed the party. Tox however noticed Sunset was looking a little sad, but he figured out why. She had been watching some of the young couples that were dancing out on the floor, and just by the look on her face, he could tell what was up with her. Eventually at some point, Tox gestured Rarity to follow him out of the gym and back into their music room.

"What is it darling?"

"I uh.. You good with clothes?"

"Yes I am. Why do you ask?"

"I need a suit. I want to ask Sunset if she wants to dance."

"Well of course!"

Toxigo didn't remember what had happened, but he remember being tossed into a separate room where he went through several suit changes. Eventually he found just the one he wanted. He now wore a dark green blazer, with the sleeves tucked up, black pants, and wore a minty green tie. He looked into a mirror staring at his reflection finding himself to be a very handsome stallion, er man.

"I appreciate you helping me Rarity. I know it seems a little much to ask..-"

"Oh its not trouble at all darling. Helping my friends in need is what gives me energy!" At that moment, Rarity ponied up, once again sprouting the ears, and the long ponytail. Eventually she died down and turned back to her normal self, and exited the room. Tox faced himself in the mirror just checking himself one last time, and exited out of the room, walking into the gym room and sat down at the table Sunset Shimmer was sitting at.

"Hey Shimmer-cakes." Tox said with a smile.

"Hey Toxy. Nice suit." Sunset replied.

"Thanks. I love your dress."

"Thank you."

"So, uh, how's the party going? Looks like everyone's getting along pretty well."

"They are. And the party hasn't been interrupted once, not even by Abacus Cinch."

"That's good to hear." Tox replied. He then paused for a bit and could see Sunset was feeling a little down. "You alright Sunset?"

"Yeah I'm fine, just remembering when I used to have Flash. But as I've said before, he was just for popularity. But now that I think about it, I do kind of wish I was dating. Someone to hold hands with, someone to go on romantic dates with, someone... to love, you know?"

"I know Shimmer-cakes. I know."

After a bit of silence Toxigo thought over how she was feeling. Even thought they both were friends, they still had feelings towards one another. And he wanted to take her out on a date, but tonight wasn't going to be the night for it. But he got an idea as to how to cheer her up. So he got up, faced her and asked--

"Hey uh, you want to go out on the dance floor?" He asked extending a metallic hand. Sunset gave a smile and took his hand. And just like before, he ponied up again, and he died down once more. Soon the both of them walked down onto the dance floor as now they were playing a slow song. But the song that was playing now was We Belong Together by Robert and Johnny.

You're mine... and we belong together....

Toxy and Sunset both then danced together to the slow moving song enjoying each others company, and both stared into each others eyes and eye as they danced to the music. In the backgrounds, there were other couples who were dancing as well, and Flash was dancing with Sci-Twi as well. And as they danced, the Shadowbolts sat at a table and smiled as they watched their new soon to be friend finally relaxing from all of their terror. As the Shadowbolts watched him dance with Sunset, they all made an agreement from there on, they would all settle at Canterlot High School to study the Magic of Friendship, that way they could live much better lives, pay for all of their mistakes, and be better friends with Toxigo, but for now, they would enjoy the party.

Little did any of them know that they were all watched by a pair of monstrous green eyes, who had watched everything. And little do any of them know they soon will be in something very bad...
