Since before the age of Harmony and Friendship, the Immortal Throne has been the seat of power in the sunless lands of the dead. For eons it has remained empty with no worthy soul to claim it. Now, its rightful owner has returned from exile to reclaim what is rightfully his. But first he has to find it. His quest has lead him to Equestria and the good ponies that call it home. There, he must contend with the likes of ambitious nobles, suspicious Alicorns, and the constant threat of imprisonment or worse should his true nature be revealed.
But he is not the only one making plans. Down in the depths of Tartarus, whispers of a growing army circulate amongst the wretched inmates. These rumors have reached the ears of two old enemies of Equestria and they now endeavor to follow them to their source: the capital of Hell itself. There, they may just find a way to return to the surface and exact bloody vengeance on the unsuspecting ponies above.
