timothy's story
there had been mist and fog around for a long period of time, sometimes stories where brought up when these types of fog and mist hang about.
however one story was brought up that was so terrifying that it gave children nightmares in the worst way.
Once upon a time, there was an engine who use to work on Sodor, long before Thomas came in 1915. The story went something like this.
Early one night, there was a steam engine waiting at the docks to take his passengers home. He had a similar shape like Thomas with six small wheels except he was painted sliver and had the number zero on his side. His name was Timothy. He was an old but kind engine with broad smile and wrinkles at the end of his mouth. All of the passengers climbed on board the coaches and guard blew his whistle.
"All steam ahead Timothy!" call out the driver.
"Sure thing!" replied Timothy.
And with that, the little engine set off. Timothy was soon puffing down the line in the countryside, with the rails humming and the carriages clattered behind him. The moon was full, the signals were down and the wind was blowing gracefully. As they approach the first station... it happened. The driver applied the brakes but Timothy kept on going and shot passed the station. He started going faster and faster.
"Timothy! What are you doing?!" shouted his driver.
Timothy didn't answer. He just kept on going. Suddenly they were switched onto the wrong line, heading away from the mainline. Then the driver and fireman saw in horror that they were heading towards a cliff where a viaduct was to be built.
"TIMOTHY DON'T! YOU WILL KILL US ALL!" screamed the driver.
He and the fireman scrambled and fiddled with the controls, desperately trying their best to stop him but it was not use. Timothy had a very scary but angry, evil and aggressive look, his eyes were black with tiny red ires with zombie like teeth.
"I'M GONNA SEND YOU ALL THE GRAVEYARD!!!!" he bellowed in a deep demonic voice as he charged to the edge of the cliff. Timothy crashed threw the blockade and he, along with his crew, the coaches and passengers fell to their deaths below.
There was no eye witnesses and no survivors... the wreck was found by the workmen but they couldn't identify who the engine was due to being blown up and charred. When investigates came, they had very little evidence to go on. But the bodies of both driver and fireman were found and they thought that they had tried to save the locomotive and the passengers but couldn't in time. Investigators ruled it as a normal tragic train accident with mechanical failure to the controls as the course of the crash.
Years later, the construction the viaduct was commenced... however after the rails where laid and the final works to it were being made, many workmen and railway staff reported seeing a ghost train rushing by, whistling fit to burst and cursing in a demonic voice before screaming into the darkness and disappearing. But these supernatural occurrences did not come often. However many witnesses didn't know that it was the ghost of Timothy, haunting the viaduct but nobody really knew whether to believe it or not... but it was, according to those who had heard about the story.
And every year on the date of his of suicidal accident, Timothy runs again, as warning to others, plunging into gap, shrieking like a lost soul...
the untold story of timothy part two.
The legend of Timothy's untold story was so dark that if any children were told by mishap they would get nightmares and scream out at night. But the story was never revealed to the Fat Controller's engines... until now.
One foggy evening, Percy was returning home after a hard days work at the docks. He was tired and in need of a long rest. He was traveling along a route he knew of, which was a short cut to get home. Percy knew where he was, even in the dark.
"I shan't be long now for I'm nearing Crowe's Farm Crossing." he said.
Crowe's Farm Crossing was located near Hackenbeck, which was a small hamlet, serving as a halt on Thomas' Branch Line. As Percy continued his run, the rails hummed and the signal lights shone green. Then he heard a whistle that was not familiar to him and then a voice, echoing in the darkness.
"Children... Children..."
Percy was confused. He slowed down and whistled back.
"Hello? Is someone there?" he asked.
The voice came again, repeating, "I like children... I like children..."
Percy was getting more confused. As he rounded the curve and about to cross Crowe's Farm Crossing... he and his driver and firepony both gasped in horror as another engine shot out of the fog, whistling fit to burst with a face that had a very demonic look.
"WELCOME TO YOUR GRAVESTONE!!!" it shrieking out loudly.
Percy wailed out, whistling long and loud as he closed his eyes, expecting a crash... but then silence quickly fell. Cautiously, Percy opened one eye as did pinkie and Rachel Marie ravens, both shaking in fright looked out from opposites sides of the cab.
"What in satin's name was that?!" asked pinkie.
"It looked like an engine... but that was no kind of engine but... but it looked enough." said miss ravens.
"Tha...tha..tha... tha... that... was... was.. was a... ghost train!" Percy said, quivering, his eyes very close to tears. "But it's not like the ones that we're told about... that was so realistic and terrifying!"
Then miss ravens paused... she began to remember something from long ago.
"Percy, remember the time, I told you about that ghost story about the one that I saw the night before and was to be a pretend ghost on television?" she said.
"Yes... yes I do," Percy replied, remembering. "Why? What's made you bring that up?"
"I'm just beginning to think that... possibly... no I'm not kidding here... I believe that now it was not a fake story... it was real... I was wrong... the ghost train was real..."
"What? What do you mean?" asked pinkie.
"I'm just starting to get this realization feeling in my stomach," said miss ravens. "I'm remembering about the story that I told Percy long ago when I claimed to have seen the ghost train running along the line, warning us while as it plunged into the mist."
Percy's wheel's shivered at the thought if miss ravens was believing the story that she told him. Be even he was starting to have second doubts about it and he was still thinking about it when he made it back the sheds. But just who was the mysterious and horrifying ghost engine that he and his crew saw?
the untold story of timothy part three.
The next morning, Percy was still feeling shocked from last night. All day, he kept on thinking about who the ghost train was and whether or not his driver's story was really true or sill made up. Percy could remember the time, years ago, he was told about it and then telling it to Thomas and Toby. Thomas didn't believe it and later got a fright from Percy after his accident with a cart of lime. It all seemed like yesterday, but both Thomas and Percy had not forgotten it.
Thomas was working at the quarry, shunting some trucks. He was getting them ready for Toby who was to deliver them to the docks where some new building materials were being carried by ship from the mainlands. The weather was warm with a few clouds and Thomas was worked very hard. He went backwards and forwards all day, proving to be really useful. When dusk fell, the little blue engine was tired. The quarry master came walking up to him.
"There is a small night special that needs to be taken to Edward's station," he said. "Can you take it for us, please?"
"Sure." said Thomas. But he really didn't want to.
It was dark by the time the train was shunted into place. Thomas was soon coupled to it and he set off. He was making good timing, passing though green signals and hearing the rails humming beneath him. There was a full moon in the sky along with stars twinkling. Thomas made it to Edward's station and placed the trucks into a siding and went home.
At the sheds, Thomas and Toby were being looked at by engineers. Outside, the weather had changed. The mist had come down and it was crawling along the rails. At that moment, Percy puffed in, after delivering the mail train.
"Hello Percy, how did the delivery of the mail go?" ask Toby.
"It was ok, but really tiring." said Percy. But Thomas could see that his friend was not looking his normal self.
"Percy, are you ok? You don't seem like your usual self." he said.
The little green engine was unsure about wanting to. But he decided to pluck up courage.
"Thomas, you might find this crazy and hard to believe, but... but I saw a ghost train but not like any other. It looked so scary and very demonic as if it came from the underworld and when I saw it, it was coming straight at me and by the time I opened my eyes, it was gone."
"That's some story," Thomas said, slightly frowning. "and most of all over the top. A ghost train that looks demonic? That's mostly like seeing something out of a horror movie."
"Did you get a good view of it?" asked Toby. "What did he looked like?"
"I couldn't tell, it all happened so fast." Percy said.
"Surely, your mind was only playing a trick on you," Thomas said. "Or perhaps you're remember about that event years ago when you pulled off that ghost prank on me when you were pretending to the ghost train from that made up story your driver told you."
"THAT'S JUST IT!" Percy squealed. "You remember when my driver told me about that story... well she now thinks that it wasn't made up at all. He now thinks it's real and the ghost train does indeed existed."
"Wait, wait, wait," Thomas replied, now confused. "That was all made up and now years later your driver's changed it to thinking it's real? Come on Percy, ghost stories are there only give us a scare not like in scaring us to death or something."
"I believed it," Toby said. "But I never really thought about it seriously."
The three engines continued on this chatting until their drivers interrupted.
"You can all go on about this," said Mr. Holden "But that ghost train story that I told miss ravens who told Percy a long time ago seems to have come back to haunt me."
"What do you mean?" asked Thomas and applejack.
"The story that I told was for real," explained MR. Holden . "When I was looking through the documents of past accidents and incidents, I stumbled across one that had not been looked at in a very long time. The records showed about an engine who had a tragic crash and left behind a haunting story that has only been recently told. The event happened along time ago, way before Thomas, Percy and Toby came to the railway, including myself. The train was talking passengers home when, according to the reports from the investigators, it's breaks failed an the engine continued on going and going until ran of the edge of a cliff, which was where the viaduct was built many years later. The engine crashed, killing everyone. But as the decades went by, witnesses claimed to have seen a ghost train running along on the anniversary of it's accident. Even I saw it... but I got a better look at it and saw it's face."
Thomas, Percy, and Toby were very silent as was everyone else who had been listening.
"The engine had a very cold presence, one that I never felt before," continued Mr. Holden. "He had the look of a sadistic madman, an evil and demonic look that only the devil himself could describe. The engine had a number zero on his sides, with six small wheels and painted silver."
"An engine with six small wheels, painted silver and the number zero?" Thomas said. "Who was he?"
Mr. Holden took a deep breath for what he was about to say next.
"The engine's overall appearance was just like you, Thomas... and his name... was Timothy."
Thomas' eyes widened in shock as did Percy's and Toby's.
"Why bless my bell!" Toby said in a stunned tone.
"So... so... so the ghost train that I saw was him?!" Percy said, shaking a little.
"It seems to be," said miss ravens. "Now that I remember it, it fitted the story of how it came together."
"Timothy... was an engine who looked me?" Thomas said, looking bewildered. "But I never saw him or even met him before. How is this possible that he can resemble me?"
"I can't tell." Toby said.
"Yeah, it baffles me," added Percy. "If Timothy's haunting our line, what purpose does he have?"
No one replied... the shed had gone quiet. Thomas was still in a state or shock, Toby was confused and Percy was left with so many questions flying around in his smokebox. The truth in finding out who the ghost train was had been told at last but the other engines on Sodor were not aware this. Just then the sound of an engine's whistle broke the silence, which made everyone jump. They saw it was only Gordon taking the evening Express, much to their relief... but they could escape the cold thought of Timothy, which was floating around in their minds in the worst ways possible.

The next day, things on the branch line ran as normal, Thomas, Toby and Daisy took passengers while Percy was shunting in the yard.
The branch line was getting more busy as the week went on as the Summer Season progressed. Thomas soon had to do some yard shunting while Percy took over in pulling his coaches. One day, Daisy was taken ill and had to be taken to the works to be mended. Toby was later sent to help out with Percy take stone trucks from the quarry to the docks while Thomas was busy taking passengers and workmen. By the time the week had gone, the engines were totally exhausted.
"Phew," sighed Thomas. "All that working made me feel like there was no ending."
"I got so tired that I thought I would work myself apart." Toby said.
"And I thought I was going to get so overworked that I would go insane." added Percy.
Toby and Thomas thought that the little green engine was over reacting again but yet they understood where he was coming from.
Some days later, Percy was making his way back home after delivering the milk train. The weather was similar to when it was a few nights ago, he wondered if he was going to encounter Timothy's evil spirit. He followed the same short cut to get home, passing Crowe's Farm Crossing and going through green signals. Just then he saw Toby in a siding, by a signal box and came to a stop.
"Hey, Toby, what are you doing here at this time of the evening?" asked the little green engine.
"I've been here for hours," Toby said. "The points are jammed so I can't go anywhere. My driver's calling for help and a group of workmen are coming to mend the failed points."
The old tram engine suddenly noticed that the mist was rolling in quite fast with a slight blow from the wind, which was now howling against the trees and the moon's bright light from above was starting to become blocked.
"My word what unpleasant weather this is." he said.
Suddenly he and Percy heard a whistle of another engine, which was coming from the darkness ahead of them. It was then heard again, followed by an echoing voice.
"Children... Children... I love children... I love children..."
"Oh no... it's him!" Percy said as he shook in fear.
"Bless my bell, it can't be..." Toby said, his eyes slightly widened.
The echoing voice got louder and louder, repeating the same words over and over. Then they saw the shape of an engine silhouetting in the mist with it's lamp shining brightly. Toby and Percy remained silent... they couldn't see the mysterious engine's face but it was for certain that it was the evil spirit of Timothy.
"MY REIGN OF HORROR WILL NEVER END!!!" he suddenly said in his demonic voice. "MY WRATH WILL BE FELT AND ONE... BY ONE... ALL OF YOU WILL BE SENT TO YOUR GRAVES... AND THEN 'HE' WILL BE MINE AND WILL JOIN ME IN HELL!!!!"
Suddenly Timothy shot forward, shrieking out loudly. In fright and crying out, Percy and Toby got a quick glimpse of his sadistic face as he about to have a collision. They shut their eyes as they anticipated a crash... but then after hearing Timothy's whistle sounded... total silence fell... Percy opened his eyes first... then Toby. They looked around, but no one was there. Timothy had vanished as did the mist and the wind had died out.
"So... so... that... that was Timothy?" Toby said, shaking.
"...Yes... Toby... it was..." Percy replied, stuttering and trembling.
