Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Three times he had come back to life since his last defeat. Three times he had tried to take over the empire since his last attempt. Twice more had my friends and I destroyed his body. Twice had we failed. It was time to devise a new plan.

"Shining," I said to my older brother. "Take down the shield. I will talk to Sombra"

"Twily, he's not one for talking," Shining objected.

"Trust me," I told him.

Shining looked at me square in the face, searching for any sign of self-doubt. Finding none, he reluctantly let down the shield around the Crystal Empire. I walked up to Sombra, preparing to take flight if he attacked.

"Well, if it isn't the newest princess," Sombra hissed. "Are you ready to give up and hand the empire to it's true king?"

"I wish to negotiate a solution with you. Possibly a trade?" I suggested.

He laughed. "So you are willing to trade something? For what?"

"If you agree to leave the Crystal Empire alone, I'm willing to give you anything you want." I told him.

He looked like he was considering something and then finally came to a conclusion. "I will agree if you give me 1000 crystals and if you agree to become my slave. If you disagree with either of my terms, I will resume my attack on the Crystal Empire."

I glared at him considering my options. Was it really worth putting the Crystal Empire in danger just because I did not wish to become this tyrant's slave? Did I want to be the pony who caused something I could have prevented if the Empire did fall? No. I will not be to blame, if that did in fact happen. "I agree to your terms. I shall meet you at noon with all the crystals. I shall also bring a quill and our written agreement."

"Agreed," Sombra said, placing one hoof under my chin, meeting my defiant glare with a smirk. "I shall make sure that you have not made any mistake."

I jerked my chin away from him. "I'm not your slave yet," I growled.

He turned away from me, his smirk still intact, and walked away. I turned around and looked at my brother, my sister, and my five friends. They looked at me in shock.

"Why did you agree to his terms?" Cadence asked. "We would not have thought any less of you if you had just refused to become his slave."

"He would have kept on attacking," I replied. "Even if we had killed or imprisoned him, he would have come back to full power. I knew that I was walking straight into something potentially dangerous, but I will not regret my decision."

"What if we need to use the elements of harmony to take down a new villain?" Rainbow asked.

"I will add that to the contract," I told them.

Finding that I needed to get ready, everyone ushered me towards my room in the castle. I quickly wrote the contract, making sure that it was beneficial for both parties. Packing my things didn't take long, since I really only had my crown, parchment, quills, the dress Rarity made for me for the Grand Galloping Galla, and the picture of all of my friends, my brother, my sister, the two princesses and I. I grabbed all one thousand crystals and headed for the appointed meeting spot. Earlier, my brother told me that I would have to write to him and my friends every so often. I, of course, agreed with him on the condition that he write back.

"Lovely afternoon, isn't it, Princess?" Sombra asked, with the smirk from earlier still on his face.

Ignoring his question I handed him a quill and the contract I had written up. I had already signed my name. He read through the agreement and then I went over it with him changing a few things here and there, and arguing certain points until we came to an agreement. It wasn't to bad for either side, honestly. Finally, Sombra signed the contract and transported us to where he lived along with my stuff and his pile of crystals. He transported the crystals inside of the cabin. It was just about as big as Applejack's barn.

"I believe I'll need to know your name," Sombra stated. "Then I can show you around this small cabin." If he meant 'small' compared to a castle, then yes, I guess it is 'small'.

"My name is Twilight Sparkle," I told him. "Not that it really matters to you."

He quickly preformed a spell on me. "On the contrary, I just used your name to bind you to this cabin so that you cannot leave without my permission, nor can you use magic against me."

I stood in shock. "W-what?" I stuttered.

"This spell also restricts you from attempting suicide," Sombra added, ignoring me. "Now come along, My Slave. There is quite a bit to show you."

He showed me the kitchen, which looked just like every other kitchen. He showed me where his room was. It was decorated with black carpet and a dark grey four poster bed. Then he showed me were the bathroom was. There was only one so we would have to share, but as long I didn't take to long, it didn't matter that we were sharing. I then learned where I would be sleeping. The only thing in there was a small, rickety bed with a single blanket and a lumpy pillow.

"This is all I shall show you. The rooms I have told you about are the only rooms you are aloud to be in," Sombra notified me.

"Yes, Sombra," I replied.

"Oh, yes. You shall call me either 'King Sombra', 'Master', 'Sir', or 'Lord'," Sombra ordered. "Now, I believe you will be the one to make dinner. We shall be eating in the dining room. Today you will eat with me, then tomorrow on you shall eat in the kitchen by yourself."

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Twilight Sparkle. The one and only Princess of Friendship. The only pony who had gotten through all of my traps without succumbing to fear. She is probably the most interesting mare I've come across in my entire life. Right now she was fixing my dinner along with her own.

"King Sombra, I have finished your dinner," Twilight announced, setting down a well prepared salad in front of me. "Where do I sit?" She was still holding her own food, standing a good distance away from me. It made me suspect that she didn't like me.

"In the chair next to mine," I told her. "Tomorrow you will be making rabbit for dinner."

Her eyes went wide. "I-I can't make rabbit! I've never even ate rabbit before! I don't know a thing about cooking meat!" She panicked.

"I guess you will have to learn then," I said taking a bite of my salad. After finishing, I looked up at her and grabbed something with my crystals with my magic. “This crystal chocker necklace will be a symbol of you being my slave. You will, of course, be required to wear it at all times.”

The choker was black crystal with a small light crystal attached to it. I made it myself, shaping and changing the color of crystals being my ‘special talent’. I quickly put it on Twilight and melded the ends of the necklace to the other as soon as it was on so it would be impossible to take off. It didn’t look to bad on her. It served the double purpose of letting me know where she is while showing that she’s a slave to the king. There was also the spell I put that made her a bit more compliant-not to the point that she turns into a mindless slave, but just enough to get her to stop her from arguing with me on stuff that she doesn’t mind doing for some pony else.

“Thanks,” Twilight said.

I can’t tell if she was actually thanking me or if she was just being sarcastic. Not that it really matters, I though. She is merely a slave.

The rest of our dinner was ate in silence, aside from a few crunching noises coming from Twilight. It wan’t that bad, I had a chance to think of things to keep her busy. My cabin was already clean as it is, and I’m not about to make my house dirty just to give her something to do.

“I’m finished with my meal, King Sombra,” Twilight announced. “Am I excused from the table?”

“Yes, and take my plate as well,” I replied. “Make sure to clean them well.”

“Yes, King Sombra,” She grabbed both plates and brought them into kitchen to start washing them. I followed to make sure she was doing a decent job. She was, surprisingly enough. I didn’t think princesses could do any housework.

“After you finish those, you will fill the bath tub with warm water and hang up my armor, cape, and place my crown on the bedside table,” I instructed.

“I understand, King Sombra,” she replied with a bit of an indignant huff.

I left her to finish cleaning, and went to my library to complete the book I had read earlier. It was a book about what my past subjects thought about me. Technically, it’s a journal shared by all those who had been under my rule. Most of it was just some pony saying how much he or she hates me for what I did, but some pages were actually worth reading. Those pages had more interesting opinions about how I could have done certain things differently or how I could have avoided some situation. Honestly, I knew most of those more peaceful options and chose to ignore them, but there were some options that I didn’t know how to avoid because I was to exasperated to think straight.

I heard a knock on the door. “King Sombra, your bath is ready,” I heard Twilight announce.

I exited my library and told her to take my armor and cape off. I’d do it myself, but I’m seriously too lazy to do it and I’ve got a slave who can do it just as well as I can. She did as she was told with a roll of her eyes, and quickly put my cape and my armor where she was told. I left my crown at the foot of the bed and left the room.

In the bathroom, after I shut the door, I slowly sunk into the warm bath. The water was not too hot and not too cold. Leaning over to grab the soap and quickly washed and rinsed my main and tail. I washed the rest of my body paying special attention to the bace of my horn. A lot of dirt and grime found it’s way there, whether I wanted it to or not. After my thorough washing, I drained the water and used my magic to dry myself.

I left the bathroom and walked into my bedroom. Everything seemed to be in its proper place. Twilight seemed to be a competent slave so far. I would have pushed her harder, but the contract stated that she would get a free day if I pushed her to hard. It was the same with food. I had agreed to her having two meals a day, didn’t matter which two as long as it was two. She had told me that she wanted her own room to sleep in, when I wanted her to sleep outside, but her reasonings were sufficient, so she added that to the contract as well.

I laid down on my bed and kept thinking about the what to have her do. I could have her mine a few more crystals for me every once in a while since the one’s I got from the agreement we made were not going to last for very long. Cleaning all rooms she can actually go in is something I had already planned on having her do.

Hm. This will be interesting, I thought.

Author's note

Sorry everyone for not being on lately, but this thing called life got real obnoxious and demanded I actually do thing off line for quite a long time *shudder*. Also, I did happen to forget where I was taking this story so I'm going to try to figure it out.

BUT until I figure that out I'm going to show just how sorry I am by answering a few of your guy's questions.

I will also answer a few of the comments on previous chapters! I will be replying in this color! So, without further ado~
