Chapter 1 - A New Leaf

Chapter 1 - A New Leaf

Hello everyone, my name is Isaac. You will probably, no definitely not heard of me at all. I was abandoned by my parents when I was 7 and just straight up left on the side of a street near an orphanage because of certain... talents I had. Soon the headmistress had found me on the way home for the day and gave me a room at the orphanage. Not creepy at all.

No one ever truly knew me, besides being known as 'The Nobody' by the other orphans. The headmistress wasn't the most supportive of people and always shamed you in some way if you did even the slightest of thing wrong. I never said anything to anything to anyone, scared of revealing my true abilities. I had no one to look up to, no one who cared for me. My life was miserable. Really, it just plain sucked. The one thing that diverted my attentions and kept me vaguely happy was a computer I found under a loose floorboard under my bed. I found it when I was bored one day and decided to barricade the door to my room to keep people out. It was rather lucky it came with a charger too or else I would have used the power up within a day. And what did I do? Played games and watched YouTube.

Several miserable years of my life rolled on by and roughly around the time I was 16 the newly released My Little Pony had come out and I started watching it. Don't judge me I was truly miserable and thought it might brighten my mood. By then I had finally left the orphanage to find a job and new home.

I got a job in delivery services, mainly for moving really heavy furniture. It wasn't much of a good pay but it was sufficient to pay the bill on my apartment rent, I even occasionally got paid a little extra - I always had a knack for getting places really early, heh. For a while, life was simple and calm. Just to be safe I only used my power when I was absolutely certain I was alone, though every time I felt as if someone was watching behind my back and waiting for a specific moment... That was always how it was but strangely enough I never saw anything or anyone of considerable threat.

A couple of months later:

My life was turned around on this day, even now I despise it. I had been fired by my boss despite several months of infallible service because the old one had retired and the new one wanted to 'start a fresh business', I hated him so much. It was also a day away from the when I had to turn my rent in but without my pay I couldn't stay any more, I left just like that. Just me, my computer and it's charger.

I was wandering the park alone with my thoughts, it had only been a few days since being fired and I was even more miserable than I was as an orphan. Just when I thought my life was going to turn a new leaf it stopped, punched me in the face so hard it dented my very soul and left me in the dust, homeless and jobless.

I got bored of thinking and I decided go find a bench and get my laptop out to watch some my little pony videos, it was the only thing that allowed me to keep my sanity now. I knew it wasn't any trouble to get WiFi as I could just leech it off any router in any of the nearby houses, I never used it against anyone because I didn't feel as if making other people miserable was going to help me in any way. I sat there watching episode after episode and I wondered, if I can get any place I want why not go to Equestria? I then heard someone clearing their throat. I looked up from my computer screen and standing there was a tall man in a black hooded cloak with the hood pulled over his face so I couldn't see it.

I looked him annoyed. "What is your problem, never seen a homeless person before?" I then looked back at my computer and realised something. "Wait, is it you that has been stalking me? I knew there was someone following me!"

The hooded figure just stood there still as a tree on a windless night.

"Does this mean that you know about my powers? If so then you'll probably want to say something about it," I stared at the unresponsive figure. "Ok then... Can you um go away?" Yet the man did not move.

Finally he quietly spoke in a rather croaky voice. "If you are wondering if it is possible to transverse into a fictional world where the dominating species is colourful cartoon ponies then, yes, it is possible," He pointed a gnarled finger at me. "However I warn you Isaac, if you step one foot, or hoof out of the path that has been set before you it will awaken a sinister evil."

I looked at my computer screen, mind running through all the events. "Who are you? How do you know me?" I looked around, then looked back to him but he was gone. "Oh well, I suppose I should try."

I searched up 'mlp season 1 episode 1' and paused it just before Twilight landed in Ponyville. I then looked at a wall and drew upon my powers. A purple, blue and black cartoon portal appeared on in the video. "This is it I'm never going back, I may lose my laptop but for a new life, well I think it's decided," I then created a portal on a tree close to me.

I put the laptop on the seat and stood up, walking towards the portal. "Goodbye world," I said and stepped into the portal.

Author's Notes:

Hello everypony! :pinkiehappy: My, it has been a while since I wrote something of tolerable content. Probably because I have been planning The Vortex Chronicles and NZ college (high school for some) is now finally over. So now I have a ton of time to write fanfics.
This is a remake of my story on FanFiction which is discontinued due to the fact it needed more work, this one however is much fuller and is actually apart of a series.
Btw everything written in italic is thought if with speech marks, not speech and other italic stuff is a memory or flashback.
Anyway keep tuned for the future chapters. Cya later everypony and brohoof to you all! /)

Chapter 2 - Equestria part 1

Chapter 2 - Equestria Part 1

I was spat out of the portal onto the ground with a heavy thud. "Well that could've been more comfortable," I said as I shook my head. I turned around to see the portal disappear, did it work? I looked down to see four hooves instead of two hands and feet. "Hell yeah, vortices for the win!" I shouted.

"I knew you could do it," I turned to see the cloaked man again.

"Did you follow me here? How did you know? Why did you want to come to Equestria?" I flung numerous unusual questions at him but he didn't respond.

After I had finished pinging him with questions he spoke, this time in a much clearer and healthier voice. "Young Isaac, you have the power of creating portals, with or without the magic that lives in Equestria. Because of this you have been reborn as an alicorn."

I looked over my shoulder to see two enormously large wings, them felt for the space above my head to find a horn protruding it's way from my skull.

"By the way you are now my student, whether or not you want to be. Meet me at the Castle of Two Sisters in the Everfree forest for tuitions every month from now. Enjoy your life in Equestria, make sure you don't talk to any of the mane six or bad things will come to pass. Goodbye," Then the mysterious man vanished into thin air.

"Ok then," I said, now alone. I looked up and saw a pegasus chariot pulled by two royal guards fly by. "Is that the chariot that Twilight arrived in?" I walked on over to the central square, hiding behind a wall. "No way. I get to witness every event that has happened so far but I can't even communicate with the main characters. Jeez that sucks."

I thought up things to do, I could try to use these sexy wings and fly to the clouds or I could see if I can use this awesome horn of mine for magic. Actually I should probably make up a name for myself as Isaac is rather uncommon for ponies. TheVortexEquilizer was my username for everything on earth, so I guess I should to call myself Vortex. "What about a job?" I always liked the thought being a palace guard maybe I should trial for that, I could even learn how to properly fly and use magic too.

It was decided then, I was going to Canterlot to pledge myself to Princess Celestia. Sure it was going to take about an hour or so to walk there seen as I can't fly or teleport, I'll still get there.

An hour later:

I finally arrived at Canterlot, by then I was exhausted and wherever I went someone was staring at me intensely, why, had they not seen an alicorn before? Probably don't want another ruler I guess. I was pulled away from all my thoughts when a guard noticed me waiting outside the gates.

"Halt! State your name and business!" He shouted from the wall.

"I am Vortex and I am here to see Princess Celestia!" I yelled back at him. He got one good look at me and murmured to the other guards.

Eventually he shouted behind the wall. "Let him in," "Sorry for the trouble your highness," He said and the other guards let me through. "Oh yes, I'm in a fantasy world and I get treated like royalty. What a life!" A part of me wanted to shout at him. "BOW DOWN BEFORE YOUR RULER, VORTEX THE LORD OF... " Never mind, that would have gone down terribly.

In about ten minutes I had arrived in the throne room, I had to ask around a lot, I had never actually been here after all. On both walls there were huge windows which stretched from floor to ceiling. I looked at two stained glass windows in particular that interested me, the ones that pictured the Princesses defeating Discord and the one when Celestia was forced to banish her sister to the moon using the elements of harmony.

"Welcome, Vortex, to Canterlot," I heard a voice say. Princess Celestia had appeared next to me. "I understand that you wish to speak to me, am I correct?"

"Yes, I have come to offer my servitude to you as a royal guard," I bowed down low to her.

"Vortex, fellow alicorn, surely you have more to say than that?" She said questioningly. "Earthling."

"Uh..." I just stood there with my mouth opening and closing like a fish, dumbfounded. "I um..." "No! This can't be happening! How did she know? How can she know?"

"Do not worry young Isaac, I'm not going to treat you anyway different to other ponies. Also I would love to have you as a royal guard, my personal elite? How does that sound?" She smiled with friendliness

I still stood there like a fish, but instead of in shock it was in surprise. "YES!" I said in excitement.

"Great, go to the training grounds. Tell the trainer I sent you, oh and can you give this to him but do not open it," She passed me a piece of paper with her magic but realised I probably couldn't lift it and talk to her at the same time. "Never mind, I'll just send it later."

"Thank you Princess," I bowed again and then turned away to leave but Princess Celestia stopped me.

"Please, call me Celestia. And one more thing before you go-"

I turned back. "Yes?"

"Can you write a book for me about your stay in Equestria."

I nodded and left her looking at the stained glass windows. I could have sworn that she said something like. "I shall see you soon, sister..."

It took me a while to get to the training grounds, I still hadn't learnt my way around the palace. I found the trainer, a grey pegasus with a white mane and a big scar across his cheek sat at desk in a room to the side of the grounds, he looked very busy. "Excuse me sir," I said.

"What is it?" He said in a gruff voice.

"Princess Celestia sent me," I said and at that moment a letter appeared at his desk, probably the one Celestia wanted me to send.

He opened the letter and read through it for a bit. Then after looking at something absurd to him on the letter he said. "You, a palace guard? The Princess' personal elite too? Pah!" He got a good, long, judgemental look at me. "Oh you're an alicorn. She must think you're important, nopony has ever gotten a place so dedicated for the Princess like this before in history! Consider yourself lucky."

"Yes sir," I said, he squinted at me.

"Your training starts this afternoon, be here or else I'm kicking you out," He stated firmly.

"Yes sir."

"That's Skyridge, to you," he said and smiled.

"Ok, I can get used to this guy,"

"Oh and here's a key to your quarters, room 147, second floor on the left. The last pony to use that room was also an alicorn, somehow it seems fitting that you take over where he left off."

"Thanks Skyridge," I walked away and started looking around the palace, I had learn my way around somehow. I then went off in search for my room, room 147. It took me a fair while to find my room, but hey, at least I got to see most of the palace by now. It was a fairly plain room, not much character. It looked as if the alicorn to live here had moved on a very long time ago. All it had was a bed, a single set of drawers and a blue shield hanging on the wall with the letters L.B engraved on its centre. It must've belonged to the previous alicorn who lived here.

"Lightning Blitz was his name," I jumped and turned around to see an old purple unicorn guard standing there, in the doorway to my room.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Midnight Dust. I was there the day Lightning Blitz had vanished. Yes he just vanished without a trace. He was on a mission for Celestia in the Frozen North, he was the personal elite of her guard like you," That surprised me.

"But the trainer said nopony had ever gotten a rank that high in history," I said.

"Oh that was because when Lightning had disappeared the Princess demanded all information on him to be removed, besides his shield and some memories. Skyridge and I are the only guards that still remember him," The old guard was sad, he was obviously good friends with Lightning. "Anyway I shall leave you to accommodate to your new room," He said and slowly trotted off.

Later that day:

I woke up to the clanging of a bell, probably telling me that training was about to begin. "Damn, I shouldn't have slept so long," I grabbed an apple from a bowl that must have been put there before I woke up and rushed off to the training grounds. I got there early because, of course, I used portals to fling my way around. Come on, who wouldn't? Anyway Skyridge was waiting there for me and the other elites to arrive, unlike me though they were just like normal troops that mainly went on infiltration missions.

"Got here early I see, well I'm not surprised. I expected no less of you. You're going to have to wait for a bit for the others to arrive though. Go take a look around the grounds for a few minutes, I will call you when ready," he said in his usual gruff voice.

"Ok Skyridge," I said. I didn't mind looking around the place, it was absolutely huge.

"Oh and by the way call me sir around the others, just because I don't want the guards to think that they aren't as special as you. A guard who has low morale and self esteem is not great to train," He said as if this wasn't the first time. "Yes, I did train Lightning Blitz, Midnight told me of the conversation you had earlier," He said in a sad voice. "Well off you go."

I left thinking about Lightning Blitz, his disappearance obviously caused the two ponies quite a lot of sadness. Thinking of that made me sad and I made a silent vow. "I will find Lightning Blitz. Nothing will stop me," I thought about it for a second and shook it off. How could I find him, even if I knew where he was I wouldn't be able to help much. I wandered the grounds aimlessly like a lost soul for around five minutes until I could hear Skyridge calling to me and quickly ran towards his voice.

"Great Vortex you're back," He said his voice sounding gruff once more. He then turned to the other guards. "Alright boys this our newest member, Vortex," He said and gestured towards me with his head.

The guards just looked at me and by the looks in their eyes they were judging me pretty intensely. They all looked very buff compared to me which made me feel even more awkward with the silence. Until one of them spoke up in a voice full of spite. "You're the Princesses personal elite, really? Skyridge, has the guard really gone this low to accept this pathetic pony," He was a red unicorn with an orange mane.

"Flameburst, stop teasing the poor pony," Said a pegasus with a brown coat and blue mane.

"Oh yeah, what you gonna do about it Streamline?" He said with a mocking voice.

"Flameburst! What did I say about picking your fights wisely, we don't want you bursting into flames again," Skyridge said.

"Well I'm sure I can take on these two morons, I mean I do have most of the elite to back me up, as captain," He said in a cocky voice.

"You and me are going to have lots of fun together," I thought sadly.

"Flameburst!" Skyridge roared. "Get back to training!" Flameburst sneered at me and walked off. I looked at Streamline.

"Thanks for backing me up," He just shrugged.

"No problem, Flameburst does have a bad habit on picking on the newbies. I know I was there, the newbie then was me. I tried to fight back but Flameburst burst into flames and scorched me and a couple of others, including Skyridge. He was relieved of duty and put in jail to cool down for a month or so until recently."

"Oh great, a pyromaniac for a captain," "Well looks like we have our hands full. Lets get to training," I said and walked off with Streamline by my side.

Several hours passed by quickly and I was exhausted, both physically and mentally. Until finally we were dismissed. I was glad about it so I teleported back to my room. Then I realised that tonight was the summer sun celebration and Nightmare Moon was going to come back, I had to tell the Princess. I ran off to the throne room.

"Celestia?" I called.

"I'm in the library," I heard her call back from a room to the right and I walked towards it. I found Celestia standing and reading a letter over and over again. "You have come to tell me about Nightmare Moon haven't you?" She said unexpectedly.

"Yes, is that the letter Twilight sent before she came to Ponyville?"

"It is, however I cannot interfere with my sister's return. It will mean that Twilight will never understand the magic of friendship, so I will ask you please, do not try to help."

"But-" I was cut off but Celestia raising her hoof.

"I know you mean good but I need something else of you. Watch over Twilight, make sure no harm comes to her."

"Ok Princess, I will protect her with my life," I said.

"Thank you Vortex. Go back to Ponyville, and look after her."

I bowed and turned to face a wall, created a portal and stepped through.

Chapter 3 - Equestria Part 2

Chapter 3 - Equestria Part 2

I found myself in the hall just before the celebration was about to begin, not wanting to draw attention I hid in the shadows and listened carefully.

I saw the mayor of Ponyville walk on stage. "Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyville it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the summer sun celebration," A huge cheer of ponies swept across the hall, I almost couldn't bear to keep in what was about to happen.

I spotted Twilight in the crowd looking about nervously, she knew that on the thousandth moon Nightmare Moon was to return and bring eternal night to Equestria.

"In just a few moments out town will witness the magic of the sunrise and celebrate this, the longest day of the year. And now, it is my great honour to introduce to you the ruler of our land. The very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria... Princess Celestia!"

I saw Rarity pull open the curtains to reveal an empty space, I saw all the shocked pony faces. I could hear people whispering to each other, Rarity had then looked behind the curtain to see nothing. "She's gone!" I heard Rarity say and the crowd gasped in shock.

Soon a blue, shimmering smoke wafted out from behind the curtain. The smoke dissipated to reveal Nightmare Moon. "Damn, I wish I could at least say something. I cannot reveal myself though," I thought, it was really annoying to just stand there and watch in the shadows.

"Oh my beloved subjects, it's been so long since I've seen your precious, little, sun loving faces," She said in a voice full of spite and hatred.

I heard Rainbow Dash shout. "What did you do with our Princess?!" She tried to fly up but Applejack caught her by the tail before she could do anything.

"Rainbow's very courageous." I thought. "Definitely more so than me."

Nightmare laughed a wicked laugh. "Why, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?" Her tone darkened. "Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years? Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?"

"I did," I heard Twilight say. "And I know who you are, you're the mare in the moon, Nightmare Moon," The large crowd gasped.

"Well well well, somepony who remembers me. Then you also know why I'm here."

A nervous Twilight spoke in a shaky voice. "You're here to... to."

Nightmare Moon laughed. "Remember this day little ponies, for it was you're last. From this moment forth the night will last forever!" Lightning struck down behind Nightmare and she began to laugh hysterically.

"Seize her! Only she knows where the Princess is!" Three guards flew up to her.

"Stand back you fools!" Lightning struck, forcing the guards off course.

Nightmare Moon began laughing again and turned into blue smoke which flew out the doors and towards the Everfree forest. Rainbow flew off chased after her for a bit but couldn't keep up.

Twilight ran out of the hall and back to the library with Spike, I followed her and flew up to the window.

I saw her put Spike to sleep and went back down to the library, I moved down to the window on that floor to see Twilight frantically pulling out books, looking for something on the elements of harmony.

I then saw Rainbow Dash barge in fly up to Twilights face with an angry look only to be pulled back by Applejack. The other three walked in, too bad I couldn't hear what they were saying. Twilight started saying something, probably explaining why she knew this was going to happen. Pinkie looked at a book shelf and said something that made Twilight push past her and take it out.

She started reading the words on the page but I couldn't read them because I was too far away. I turned to my side to see a blue smoke out side the window next to me, it was Nightmare Moon.

"Hey Nightmare Moon, over here." I said hoping to attract Nightmare's attention. The blue smoke just turned and disappeared into the forest. The six ponies then ran off to the forest too, with me following behind at a safe distance so I wouldn't be spotted.

A few minutes later the six stopped on the borders of the Everfree forest and I screeched to a halt in the air above them, hoping they wouldn't look up. They started talking but I couldn't go down to hear the or they'll notice me. Everypony except Twilight started walking into the forest, Twilight sighed and followed on behind them. I swooped low above the trees so that I could see them through the thick canopy of trees. They stopped at the edge of a cliff and a saw a blue smoke seep in to the rocks. "Nightmare just won't give up will she?" They started talking and from memory Rainbow would talking about the creepiness of the forest, trying to scare them.

I was going to fly down to help Twilight but I was engulfed by a blue smoke. "Going somewhere young alicorn?" A female voice whispered.

"I know it's you Nightmare Moon. You cannot hide in shadow forever." I saw a pony figure move past me and I lunged forwards, growling, only to hit the trunk of a tree, getting my horn stuck.

"Haha, I think I'll keep you. You are a rather quaint pony."

Nightmare Moon revealed herself. "Tell me, young alicorn, what is your name?" I growled.

"I would tell you... but I can't if my horn stays lodged in a tree," I felt my tail being tugged and my horn became loose enough for me to pull out.

"Better? So tell me, who are you?"

"I am Vortex, Celestia's personal elite guard and hidden protector of The Elements of Harmony," I said while rubbing my horn, still cautious.

"So, Vortex, why are you an alicorn but not a royal?" She said, some suspicion tells me she wants something out of me.

"I come from a distant land, far from Equestria. That is why I am not acknowledged as royalty here."

I waited for the bribe of royalty to come but it didn't come exactly the way I expected. "We could rule the eternal night together, if that is what you wish," Her face was a few millimetres from my own. "We could rule as a couple," She whispered quietly and kissed me.

I pushed her away from me. "You know what, seen as you just ruined my entire relationship life, I'm going to have to say no." She looked at me furious.

"How dare you refused such an offer from your Princess!" She shouted in her royal Canterlot voice.

"Well too bad. Bye," I pulled a face at her, then I opened up a portal and ran through it not wanting to witness the full power of the dark magic which possessed Celestia's sister.

I then found myself outside The Castle of the Two Sisters. "Strange, this is where the cloaked man wanted to meet me."

"And I still do," I turned to see the very guy himself standing next to a pillar, casually leaning on a staff. "Well done for not interacting with the six so far, I know it's hard but you have to keep it up. Don't worry, once the four elements have been found you will not need to hide any longer. Oh, and hows your lover heehee," He said cheekily with a wheezy laugh.

I rolled my eyes. "Shut up, old guy."

He laughed. "Oh, I'm dead serious about this. Do you like her or no." He walked up to me and looked me dead in the eye, well, he would have if his hood didn't conceal his face. "Oh is this better." He took off his cloak, and what surprised me was that he was a golden furred monkey with a white beard.

"At least I can look you in the eye now that I can see you," I said.

"So tell me, Vortex, do you like her?" He leaned on his staff in a casual way.

"No," I said assertively.

"Good," He whacked my head with his staff. "You will have a chance with Rainbow when the time comes, the one you actually like. Lucky pony."

I was surprised. "What, when?"

He whacked me again. "Vortex, use your thick head for once. I said when the time comes."

"Stupid monkey," He whacked me again. "Ow. That's really starting to hurt."

"My name is Razziel, not stupid monkey," He said, then looked around. "Looks like Nightmare is here," He pointed towards a tower, blue smoke had started to seep in there and lights flashed. I turned back around to see that Razziel had disappeared.

"Stupid monkey," As if Razziel were still here my head started to hurt again as if he whacked me. I grumbled. "Ouch, if Razziel keeps hitting me my horn will get dented, even with this thick skull of mine."

I flew up to the window which Razziel had pointed at and watched. I saw Nightmare Moon with the elements of harmony and Twilight was in front of her, and she didn't look the slightest bit happy.

"You're kidding, you're kidding right?" Nightmare said, I could hear them from the window because, well, there was no window, just a gaping hole where the window should be.

They charged at each other, just before they could collide Twilight teleported behind Nightmare with the elements, her horn started to glow. "Just one spark. Come on, come on..." An aura of purple light began to surround the elements of harmony and her horn began to glow brighter.

Nightmare had teleported in front of Twilight and stopped her with a strike of lightning, sending Twilight flying backwards. The elements began to spark with lightning, Nightmare Moon was surprised. Just before the sparks began greater it stopped, leaving the sixth element still unknown. Nightmare Moon began to laugh hysterically and stomped her hooves, shattering the elements into several pieces. Twilight looked shocked.

"You little fool, thinking you could defeat me?! Now you will never see your princess or your sun. The night will last forever!" Nightmare Moon laughed hysterically. I facehooved, knowing perfectly what will happen next.

I heard the voices of Twilights friends and she turned, a look realization on her face. "You think you can destroy the elements of harmony just like that? Well you're wrong because the spirits of the elements are right here!" Twilights friends had gathered behind her and the shattered pieces of the elements of harmony lit up and floated in the air around Nightmare Moon.

"Applejack, who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of... Honesty," The orange glowing shards flew up to Applejack and spun around her.
"Fluttershy, who tamed the manticore with her compassion, represents the spirit of... Kindness," The pink glowing shards flew up to Fluttershy and spun around her.
"Pinkie Pie, who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger, represents the spirit of... Laughter," The blue glowing shards flew up to Pinkie and spun around her.
"Rarity, who calm a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift, represents the spirit of... Generosity," The white glowing shards flew up to Rarity and spun around her.
"And Rainbow Dash, who could not have abandoned her friends for her own hearts desire, represents the spirit of... Loyalty," The red glowing shards flew up to Rainbow and spun around her.

"The spirits of these five ponies got us through any challenge you threw at us," She said.

Nightmare Moon looked furious. "You still don't have the sixth element, the spark didn't work!"

"But it did, a different kind of spark. I felt the very moment I realized how happy I was to hear you, to see you. How much I cared about you, the spark ignited inside me. When I realized you all are my friends," Twilight turned to face Nightmare Moon and a flash of white light appeared above her, it was the sixth element, the element of magic.

The light grew brighter and I had to shield my eyes.

"You see Nightmare Moon, when those elements are ignited by the... the spark that resides in heart of a soul it creates the sixth element, the element of... magic."

The light grew even brighter and soon it was so unbearable I couldn't even look. The shards assembled on their corresponding hosts in the forms of necklaces and a crown, they then created a rainbow which twisted up and down on Nightmare Moon. "Nooooo!" She screamed and the rainbow light wrapped around her, covering her completely. The the white light flashed again and I could see or hear a thing.

By the time my sight came back the six were lying on the ground and one by one they woke up, groaning. I couldn't quite hear what they were saying but by the proud look on Rarity's face they were admiring their necklaces, which were the same shape as their cutie marks.

"Indeed you do," I saw the sun rise up and a light came down and landed in front of the six, revealing itself to be Princess Celestia. The six ponies bowed.

Princess Celestia!" Twilight said as she galloped over to her and hugged her. Well, at least it was considered a hug in pony terms.

"Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student. I knew you could do it," She said.

"But you told me it was all an old pony tail," Twilight said.

I told you that you needed to make some friends, nothing more. I saw the signs of Nightmare Moon's return and I knew it was you who had the magic inside to defeat her. But you could not unleash it until you let true friendship into your heart," She replied. "Now if only another will as well..."

"Princess Luna, it has been a thousand years since I have seen you like this. Time to put our differences behind us, we were meant to rule together little sister."

"Sister?" All the other six asked surprised by this, however I knew it all along.

Celestia continued. "Will you accept my friendship?" All the ponies waited anxiously for a response.

"I'm so sorry, I missed you so much big sister." Tears of friendship spilled from the two Princesses eyes.

"SHE NEVER SAID YES, DAMMIT!" Was the one thought going through my head.

"I missed you too." Celestia said.

This made Pinkie cry rather loudly, enough for me to hear anyway. "Hey you know what this calls for... A PARTY!" She said changing moods extraordinarily quickly.

A few hours later:

I did not attend the party at Ponyville, however much Celestia insisted. I couldn't let myself be revealed. I had told Celestia and Luna about Razziel, the monkey who always wore black robes and hit me with his staff. This made them laugh, it felt good to see them so happy.

Celestia had left for Ponyville but Luna had stayed behind for a bit. "I'm sorry for what I did as Nightmare Moon... You know," she said uneasy about how I will react.

"Hey no problem, just don't do it again. I have eyes, and ears for somepony else."

She laughed, thanked me and galloped off to join her sister. "Maybe she did mean what she said earlier..."

I was satisfied, everything was normal for now anyway. I knew many other terrible events were yet to come, having watched the start of season 2 of my little pony. But that will have to wait.

Somewhere dark in Equestria:

I gasped, defeated by the mane six. They had ripped me away from Luna's mind, leaving me exhausted and weary. "Brother, I have failed my mission," I said in a low, dark voice. I turned to see my brother, a deathly grey alicorn, looking disappointed.

"We will just have to strike next time chaos is let loose. Don't forget, we have a captive that we can use to our advantage," He said in a cruel deathly chilling voice.

"Perhaps, only fate can decide. But for now we sleep and wait," I said quietly.

Author's Notes:

I told you this will be up soon! Very soon! :pinkiehappy:
Yes, a large amount of this is from the first two episodes of my little pony but I'll try my best to throw in as much originality into it as possible. Next chapter will be up eventually but until then cya later everpony an brohoof to you all! /)

A Message From the Heart

If you are reading this then you are about to see things I haven’t said to anyone. It will probably be rather emotional for me but that doesn’t matter. If you want to skip my rant and read the final chapter, go to the first thing you see in bold.

The project The Vortex Chronicles is now discontinued and will never been seen again. I released TheVortexEquilizer: Bronyhood on FimFiction a less than a week ago and it wasn’t a big hit. Probably hated more than loved, it scored 7 dislikes in 12 hours and 3 likes in the whole time it’s been there. I am never going to use my accounts on both Fim and Fanfiction again as I will no longer be writing. I will probably no longer be a brony too and remove all evidence of me being one, which includes my brony youtube channel that was never used (in exception for my email because I use it for games). Here’s why:

When I uploaded my story to fimfiction I was unaware that there were fanfic groups totally dedicated to being awful. My story successfully got into five of them and the feeling of it really weighed me down. Now, I don’t handle certain emotions very well and some things hit me really hard such as: stress, anxiety, embarrassment and nervousness. This however, was a feeling I have never felt and it made me feel terrible. So terrible I actually felt physically sick. No really, for the past few days I have felt like I could throw up any second.

People judged my fic on what they could see in front of them, not the hidden message I was going to send.

Let me tell you something. In New Zealand where I live, our childhood teachers always encourage you to put yourself out into the world. They would tell us that people will always judge and you can’t do anything about it, so respect their opinion and don’t drag others down just because you disapprove of something. On fimfiction that rule doesn’t seem to exist. If you were to do even the slightest thing wrong it will be put into a group of fanfics that is specifically there to shun you and bring you down instead of motivating you to do better next time. Even if you fix your mistake it doesn’t change anything. It is basically like putting a sign on someone’s back saying in bright red ‘THIS PERSON WRITES HORRIBLE FANFICS’ for the whole world to see, and I got five of them. FIVE! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

It is very sad that I had to stop writing because I was enjoying it AND some people were enjoying it too. The whole point of The Vortex Chronicles was to tell a story about my life so that people might have a chance to understand how I feel about my life as a brony. No, I’m not going through a stage of depression. Here is what my story was going to represent:

Before I became a brony and wrote fanfics, I transcribed music in my spare time. Eventually I found the MLP theme song on a channel where I was transcribing stuff from. This made me curious because there were grown men that were older than me watching the show and eventually I persuaded myself to watch the first episode. After watching that I realised I actually liked it and continued to watch every single video out there. I became addicted to it and after only four days I had watched every episode from start to finish up to season 5 episode 12 and waited in anticipation for the 13 episode to be released. After that had come out I got bored waiting for the second half of the season to come out and started searching things on ‘mlp irl’. I found tons of videos and fanfics where people would edit in ponies into the real world. I then came across the video of ‘My Little Dashie’ and it made me very sad that I was crying for an hour straight. I usually am as a ‘heartless’ person because I never smiled, laughed, cried or even talked in general and the fact I had a preferability to the cold. So to brighten my mood I again searched up and found the fanfic ‘a wish come true’ by frontdoor6. This gave me an inspiration to write my little pony fanfics on fanfiction. And so Two Dimensions, One Destiny was born. Once the first chapter was released and I had started working on the second, I looked at the viewer stats and noticed that a few hundred people had read what I had released. So then I thought up of a prequel to the story that I would run at the same time, thus TheVortexEquilizer: Bronyhood was created. For the first time I was truly happy and felt like I had a purpose in this world. Soon after roughly seven chapters in 2 D, 1 D and three chapters in TVE: B, I was pulled away from my computer because some of my very good friends had some form of a fallout which then became a six way argument. Me being the mellow middle man, I had to try to sort things out, I failed miserably and one of my friends left to Australia while one keeps fighting with the now remade couple. I still have to put up with it even now. This kept me from my brony life and when things had settled a bit I just got lazy and stopped writing completely. I had reverted back to my old life again. Soon after, the second half of season five came out and yet again I was becoming motivated to write. So I decided to revive my fanfics and create a proper storyline to it, The Vortex Chronicles. Then I released my first fanfic on fimfiction, TheVortexEquilizer: Bronyhood. [After that it was going to show how hard it was to keep my secret from the world outside as I knew even if people knew I was a brony and didn’t mind, they would still see me as a person that is not (My Name) but as Vortex the brony. I used the build up to the time where I went insane in The Coming of Insanity (4th story in The Vortex Chronicles) to show this. Then I left Equestria to search for the Elements of Insanity to bring them back to Equestria so that they could see what had happened in their absence and hope that they may become The Elements of Harmony once again.] *Everything in the brackets before the star is supposed to represent what would happen when I finally come to accept the fact that I was a brony and others should know that I am whatever should come to pass.

But here I am now, telling you my story because people didn’t give me a chance. So none of this will ever happen.

If you have read the first chapter than you might recognise this:
[No one ever truly knew me, besides being known as 'The Nobody' by the other orphans.
Don't judge me I was truly miserable and thought it might brighten my mood.]
This was there to show what my life was like before I discovered my little pony and then what I thought about it when I did find it. I’ve spent my whole life so far trying to find what I was good at and enjoyed but things have just dragged me down ever since I became a brony. I was only a random guy who was extremely anti-social, who spent hours on his computer with headphones because he liked transcribing songs back then. I had no purpose.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. I’m no longer a brony and I will probably go back to transcribing songs because that and being miserable seems to be the only things I’m good at.

Remember that anything I write is meant to represent something in my life. As for an end to my series, well it may not be what you or I would want but here goes nothing:

Chapter 4 - The End

After a long time of peace and happiness I realised that I couldn’t stay in Equestria forever. It was not my real world. Heck, I would sure come to miss it but the memories are definitely worth the time coming. Sometimes it is great to have an amazing memory, even if you always end up remembering the bad things. I had told Razziel that I could no longer live in Equestria and surprisingly, he understood. He said that if I felt the urge to return home then that was my destiny. So later that day I went to Canterlot to ask Celestia if she could return me home.

“Celestia?” I called.

From behind me I heard a “Yes?” And there was Princess Celestia and Princess Luna standing, silently waiting for me to say something.

I took a deep breath in… “You may not like what I have to say but I shall say it anyway… I want to return home.”

I looked towards the two alicorns to see two confused faces. “But Vortex, I thought you wanted a new life?” Said Celestia.

I nodded. “I do, and everything that has happened to me here was the best thing that has happened to me, however this place… This world is not my home.”

“We understand, but returning back to your home would be easier by portal for you wouldn’t it?” Said Luna.

Again I nodded. “But I can only travel to places I can see, either in picture or in reality.”

“I understand, but if I send you back you will only have a few hours left to live,” Celestia said gravely.

I gave a watery smile. “Don’t worry about me, just remember me for the good things I did.”

The sisters looked at each other and came to a silent agreement. “We will send you back,” Luna said.

“You will be missed Isaac,” Celestia said.

Then the two alicorns moved off to each side of me and spoke in unison, horns flashing in the colours of their realm. “Send the alicorn Vortex back to the world he came from, return his life back to normal and let him live his final moments in happiness.”

I was surrounded in a white light that obscured my vision, all I could here was the sound of the Princess’ voices getting more distant. “Goodbye, Isaac.”

Earth:

I awoke to find myself lying on the park bench with my laptop on my lap. I sat up and looked at my forehooves, which were hands once more. “Better make the most of what time I had left,” I thought, putting down my laptop and ran off.

The next day:

Last night an abandoned orphanage was burnt to the ground and the charred body of a homeless man was found and identified soon after the fire was extinguished. The cause for the fire is uncertain but it is suspected that the homeless man was Isaac, who was raised up in the orphanage, had started the fire because of past experiences at the orphanage but failed to escape before the roof came down on him.

His funeral was arranged but no one knows anything about his family. Only until after this was established two sisters and apparently friends to Isaac had come to say their goodbyes to him and disappeared without a trace shortly after.

The only remaining evidence on the scene of the fire was a dead tree with the words “All good things must come to an end, so make them the best thing that ever happened to you,” scribed onto the tree trunk.

This will be the last thing I ever write publically and for the final time, cya later everpony and brohoof to you all. /)
