Encounter At Farpoint part 1

Captain's Log Supplemental

I am on my way to Farpoint Station, beyond which is the mass of the unexplored galaxy. My orders are to investigate this Starbase, built by the inhabitants of that world. Meanwhile, I am becoming better acquainted with my command, the Celestial class USS Enterprise. It surprises me how far pony technology and magic have come. This ship could easily have 1,000 crew members on board and still have room for many more ponies. Speaking of the crew, we are still short in several key positions, but Princess Celestia has informed me that we'll be picking up the rest of the crew at Farpoint. Including my new first officer, an extremely experienced Commander Applejack.

Captain Twilight Sparkle exited the turbolift to the new workstation she would be spending most of her time at. The bridge. And she would have a large responsibility, commanding that bridge. As she continued to the Captain's chair she looked upon her crew, wearing different colored jump suits to represent the sections of the ship they worked in. She wore red, signifying the rank of command and diplomacy. Science and magic officers would wear blue uniforms, while security and engineers would wear gold uniforms. She was comfortable in her usual blue uniform, but the Princess gave her a direct order to take command of the Enterprise so it appeared red would have to be her new favorite color. She also was not very social in her time as a science officer, so the prospect of commanding a crew was very difficult for her. But the princess gave her an order, and she knew she had to follow it. She thought that striking up a conversation with her main officers would perhaps lighten things up. She looked over to her science officer, a Lt. Commander Luna. Luna was a Princess under the royalty of Equestria, but she had just risen from a thousand year banishment and was eager to learn about everything there was about the future, or present. Luna was very mechanical with her thinking, a thousand years has made her very devoid of emotion. Twilight was ordered to treat Luna as any other member of the crew. She addressed her. “Do you agree, Luna, that Starfleet's orders are difficult?”

Luna turned around from her station at the helm and replied, “Difficult?” giving a blank stare to Twilight. “All we have to do is solve the mystery of Farpoint Station.”

“As simple as that Luna?” Twilight asked raising an eyebrow.

“Oh my, Farpoint Station!” exclaimed the ship's consular, Rarity. “Even the name sounds like a mystery.” Rarity was staring off with a dreamy look in her eye. “Plus I hear it has all the best clothes you could possibly dream of. I must learn their craft if it's true.”

Twilight shook her head, “It's hardly simple, Luna, not only do we have to make a treaty with the people there on behalf of Starfleet, but we also have to snoop around finding everything we can about their world”

“What do you mean by 'snoop' Captain?” asked Luna with an inquisitive look on her face.

“Luna you don't know what Snoop means? I thought you said you had a complete understanding of pony culture?” Twilight had to admit, “snoop” was a very old word.

“It could be that, it is one part of pony culture that I did not study.” Luna flatly replied.

“It means to spy, to sneak.” Twilight said with a smile on her face.

“Oh!” Luna appeared to have an epiphany “To seek covertly, to go stealthily, to slink, slither-”

“Yes you got it” Twilight tried to interject but to no avail.

“Glide, creep, skulk, pussyfoot-”

“That's enough.” Twilight said loudly.

“Captain . . .” Rarity said with horn glowing. “I'm sensing a powerful mind.” Rarity was not an ordinary unicorn. She had the ability to feel how other ponies were feeling and act on that.

Suddenly, on the ships view-screen, appeared a large energy web that surrounded the ship. The ship's alarm rung throughout the ship. A brown pony with an hourglass cutie mark was typing away at a console in front of Twilight and yelled, “Captain! The 'web' appears to be solid.”

“All stop!” Yelled Twilight. “Go to yellow alert and scan the web.” A bright flash shined through the bridge abruptly, making the entire bridge crew turn their heads to where the flash originated from. Before them, stood a pink pony in old royal guard armor.

“Thou are notified that thy kind hath infiltrated the galaxy too far already. Thou art directed to return to thine own solar system immediately!” The pink pony stated in the old Canterlot voice.

Twilight looked around at the other crewmen in surprise and looked back at the pony before them and said, “That's quite the order.” Twilight rose an eyebrow, “Do you mind telling me who you are?”

The pink pony hopped around the bridge with a serious look. With each jump, she seemed to have a spring sound effect. “We call ourselves the Q. Or thou mayst call me that. It's all much the same thing. I present myself to thee, as a fellow ship captain. And I warn you to turn back now!”

The brown pony, an ensign Hooves, rose up with a stun gun.

“Stay where you are!” Screamed the pink pony. She rose a hoof and blasted the ensign with an ice blast the froze him in place. Rarity and Luna rushed over to the ensign.

Twilight joined them and ordered the two to take him down to the medical bay. She turned back to the strange entity before her. “This was a non lethal weapon! He wasn't going to hurt you!”

“A weapon is still a weapon silly, and I won't have you 'quadropedal' creatures pointing weapons at me.” Twilight could only stare at this strange creature. “Now go back the way you came, or you will certainly die . . .”

“Captain Sparkle?” Twilight's communication badge went off.

“Go ahead.” Twilight said still staring at this “Q”.

“We got ensign Hooves down here and he is going to be alright.”

“My my, I don't think you understand Captain. Perhaps my costume doesn't fit the time period, you ponies go through history so fast. How about this?”

Q stomped the ground and with a bright flash she was dressed in a new uniform, the one worn in the time of the war between the Equestria and the Griffon Kingdom

“The problem here is patriotism. You must return to your planet to stop the Griffon menace from destroying your way of life, all it takes is a few good ponies.”

Twilight simply chuckled at this costume, “We haven't worn that uniform, or had that mind set in hundreds of years.”

“Oh yes, because the hundreds of years after this uniform was used was SO peaceful” announced the exuberant pink Q. With a flash she was wearing a set of “power armor” from when the fallout of a great war engulfed Equestria. “Yes this armor is peaceful indeed is it not?” She trotted around the bridge with her suit and moved to the security station to where a Buffalo named “Worf” and a pegasus pony by the name of “Colgate” were waiting.

“Captain?” Worf asked. “Permission to clean up the bridge?” The Buffalo were known to be peaceful but when provoked, they were the mightiest warriors in the galaxy.

Colgate turned to the captain and said, “Captain! Ensign Worf is right! As chief of security it is my duty to-” Twilight raised a hoof and interrupted her.

“Your duty is to follow orders for now Colgate!” Twilight wanted to hear what this cosmic being wanted to say. Luna and Rarity returned to the bridge at that moment.

Another flash appeared, Pinkie Q was now in a Starfleet uniform similar to Twilight Sparkle's. “And now here we are. Ponies left Equestria and have found themselves battling against other races too. It's the same old story isn't it Captain?”

Twilight then rose her voice and said, “The 'same old story' is what is going on here! A being with little fact to go on, in a self righteous position believes it has the right to judge and prosecute a species and claim itself to know better.”

Pinkie Q smiled, “'Judge and prosecute?' That doesn't sound like a bad idea Captain. But what if we understand pony kind all too well?”

Twilight glared at Pinkie Q. “We have no fear about the facts of who we are.”

Pinkie laughed. “Then I will go and make the arrangements, but when I return, we will proceed as you recommended.” And with a flash, Pinkie Q disappeared. Twilight and the bridge crew were satisfied, at least for the moment, that she was gone.

Worf stepped forward. “Captain . . . I respectively submit that our only choice is to fight. If we buffalo understand anything, it's the meaning of that kind of talk.”

Colgate joined in. “I agree Captain, we fight or try to escape at least.”

Twilight looked over to Rarity and said, “Do you feel her presence anymore?”

Rarity was in distress. “Captain, her mind is far too powerful and random to understand. We should get away as soon as possible.”

“Understood.” Twilight activated her communicator. “All hands this is the Captain. All hands must move to the saucer section of the ship immediately. Only essential crew members are allowed to stay in the body of the ship. We will be preparing for saucer separation.” Twilight turned to Luna. “Luna, is it possible for a saucer separation at FTL(Faster than light) speeds?”

Luna looked down for a moment and shot her head back up. “It is possible Captain, but there cannot be a single error.”

“Right, so here's the plan. The majority of the crew will be making their way back to Equestria as the being demanded. We will stay behind and try to distract it. Ensign Worf, you have command of the saucer section, the rest of you are with me. We're going down to the secondary bridge.” Twilight and the majority of the bridge crew made their way down to the secondary bridge while Worf ordered the ship to go to warp. “Warp.” Twilight thought. “Funny word we use to for FTL travel.” Twilight and company made it to the secondary bridge and took their posts. “Worf? Have we achieved maximum speed yet?”

“Yes we have Captain, and the crew has made it to their posts.” Worf was a buffalo of honor, Twilight knew she would be able to count on him. “We are ready for saucer separation.”

“Alright stand by. Luna, please begin the sequence.” Twilight said to Luna.

“Yes Captain.” Luna pressed a few buttons into her console. And with that, the ship separated from the saucer section of the ship.

“All stop!” yelled Twilight Sparkle. The ship slowed down, and the bridge crew could only watch as their fellow crewponies, and the rest of their ship, went off towards Equestria. As the ship came to a stop, the web that encircled them once before returned, holding the Enterprise. Twilight rose from her seat. “Luna, send this message on all channels and languages: We surrender.” The bridge crew looked to Twilight who had her head down low. It was up to Pinkie Q, on what would happen next.

Encounter At Farpoint part 2

Previously on Star Ponies: The Next Generation

On her first mission, Captain Twilight Sparkle has found herself facing a being with godlike powers. With little to no options, she evacuated most of her crew and surrendered to the creature, waiting for it's next move.

And now the continuation.

Twilight Sparkle and her crew stared at the energy web that encompassed her ship. Even though their ship was the most powerful ship in Starfleet, they knew they didn't have a chance against a being that could make anything possible. The ship then started to shake violently, putting the crew into a greater sense of fear than before. But then with a flash, the bridge crew was taken from their ship and placed in an old chamber, similar to that of an old court room in Canterlot. They were surrounded by an audience of ponies that looked to be demented and deformed, almost evil. They yelled at the heroes with much hatred in their voices.

“Captain,” Luna said. “The courtroom, it resembles-”

“Canterlot after the fallout, where Celestia disappeared and the ponies were left to fend for themselves.” Twilight Sparkle could only look down. Even though it was a long time ago she still couldn't believe that pony kind came from a past as twisted as this one.

A pony in an ancient eastern garb stood up and announced: “All rise for the judge of pink!” This pony seem to be the bailiff. The audience seemed to settle down and stood up, looking towards an empty black void. Twilight didn't stand up, she didn't want to give this, “Pinkie Q” the satisfaction. The hall then went completely silent as Pinkie Q, wearing a read robe and strange hat, entered the room on a rather large throne. The bailiff motioned two power armored ponies to raise their weapons at Twilight and the others. “You will rise for the Pink Judge!” Twilight and the others cringed at the very old, but very brutal weapons. But Colgate jumped out of her seat and flew to the power armored pony to the left of them. The guard tried to fire at Colgate but missed, giving Colgate ample time to kick the guard in the face and knocking him over. The other guard came up to Colgate and held a gun to her head. Pinkie Q arose from her throne.

“Stop!” She yelled. Colgate was forcefully returned to her seat. Pinkie Q looked over to the guard that was knocked over and motioned the other guard to kill him. The guard used more than enough bullets by Twilight's count. She cringed and looked to Pinkie Q.

“I presume this will be a fair trial? No harm will come to the prisoners?” she asked with a face of authority. In truth, Twilight had never felt so scared in her life. The only thing she could cling to was her ethics and the proof that pony kind had since passed this time period.

“Oh yes, absolutely Twi'” Pinkie said with a big smile. Twilight did not appreciate the nickname. The bailiff moved forward and spoke.

“Before this gracious court now appear these prisoners to answer for the multiple and grievous savageries of their species. How plead you, criminal?”

Twilight was about to answer but Luna tapped her shoulder and said: “Captain, may I? I have an objection.” Twilight allowed her to speak. “Objection, your honor. 1,253 years ago, the Celestial Hierarchy declared that no Equestrian citizen could be made to answer for the crimes of their race or forbears.”

Pinkie smiled slyly and said, “Objection denied, this court is from 800 years ago and the Celestial Hierarchy had disappeared and the Equestrian Wasteland was what ruled.” Colgate rose again with tears in her eyes. Twilight stood up and faced her.

“Colgate wait-”

“No Captain, I'm from a world that was ruled just like this while it was under control by an alien threat. If anything, this court should just get down on it's knees and praise Starfleet!” Pinkie Q raised a hoof and a force of wind pushed Colgate into a wall and knocking her out. Luna and Rarity rushed over to her, trying to get her back on her hooves. Twilight rushed over.

“Is she okay?” Twilight asked with a worried look.

Luna frowned and said, “Uncertain Captain, she has appeared to have broken her wings but beyond that we don't have any way of knowing.” Rarity put on a face of pure anger with tears welling up and yelled:

“You monster! How dare you-”

The business end of a rifle was pointed at Rarity's head by the guard. The bailiff smiled and said, “Criminals stay silent.”

“You've got a lot to learn about ponies if you think torturing us or frightening us will move us into silence.” Twilight Sparkle at this point didn't care that Pinkie Q was omnipotent, she hurt two of her crew mates.

“You will answer these charges criminal!” The bailiff yelled sadistically.

“Or what? My death? Hers? I refuse to answer these charges if the court doesn't even play by it's own rules.” Twilight was adamant. She would not lose this trial. Pinkie Q smiled and with a stomp of her hoof, Colgate was back on her feet as a good as new. “How can you even begin to judge ponies when you know nothing of the current civilization and base all your fact on ponies who have long since perished from this time?”

“What would you suggest then, Twi'?” Pinkie Q said as she leaned forward.

“That we be tested! Our mission has us on a long road discovering new things about the galaxy and ourselves.” Twilight knew it was a shot in the dark, but it was all she had.

“Another splendid idea Captain. But your test hardly requires a long mission. Your immediate destination offers far more challenge than you can possibly imagine. Yes, this Farpoint station will be an excellent test.” Pinkie Q gave a devious smile, further cementing within Twilight that this creature was truly one of the greatest threats and mysteries she has ever faced, or perhaps ever will face.

“All rise!” The bailiff announced, hitting a rather large gong in the room.

“These ponies are to be tested on this mission of theirs.” Pinkie rose, if only to look down on Twilight and the others. “Captain, you may find you are not nearly clever enough to deal with what lies ahead for you. It may have been better to accept sentence here.”

And with a flash, the crew returned to the secondary bridge of the Enterprise. The other crewman that were on the bridge with them didn't even seem to notice them being gone. Luna turned to the Ensign on the conn and said, “What is a current heading crewpony?”

The crewpony had an accent, “On course for Farpoint ma'am.”

Luna looked at her console, “Confirmed Captain, we're on course for Farpoint.”

“Know anything about the station Ma'am?” The crewpony asked Twilight.

“We'll soon find out . . . what's your name?” Twilight asked.

“O'Caramel ma'am, Apple O'Caramel.” said O'Caramel continued working the console.

“Yes well, we were told that it's rather interesting O'Caramel.” The ship continued on it's way to Farpoint station.

Edit: Sorry Folks, didn't mean for it to end abruptly like that, just me derping.

Encounter At Farpoint part 3

Personal Log, Commander Applejack,

The USS Star Swirl has dropped me off at Farpoint Station, where ah await the arrival of the new USS Enterprise to which Ah've been assigned as First Officer. Meanwhile ah have been asked to visit the Farpoint Administrator's Office, in the old city.

Applejack entered the administrator's office, looking at the rather dark scenery. She looked over to the administrator, an earth pony with a white coat, a long white mane, red eyes, and clothes even Applejack the farm pony would cringe at. The administrator waved his hoof to Applejack and said, “Ah Commander Applejack come in, come in. I thought you'd want to know that we have received no contact from your vessel. I trust we've made your wait . . . comfortable?”

“More like luxurious Administrator.” Applejack didn't get treatment this good anywhere in the Federation, even on Riza, the paradise planet.

“Please Commander, call me Zorn! Everyone does!”

"Oh, well ah was wondering Zorn, if Ah could trouble ye for some information.”

Zorn reclined in his chair. “Anything Commander.”

“Well, the materials that you used for this Space Port are really advanced.”

“One of the many blessings of this planet Commander. Great materials, amazing energy from the planet-”

“And you managed to build this place so quickly after you proposed it to Starfleet. Ah have to admit, Ah'm a farm pony and we couldn't get a building up in the time you took to get a this entire Space Port up.”

“Would you like an Equestrian delicacy, Commander?” Zorn asked with a smile, motioning towards a bowl of fruit.

“Well if ya'll have an apple, that'd be swell.” Applejack hadn't had an apple in months.

Zorn looked disappointed and said, “I'm sorry Commander.”

“Aw, don't get so down on yourself Zorn, it don't ma-”Applejack looked to where the bowl was and found another bowl right next to it and it was filled with big red apples. “Well, Ah'll be damned.”

“Oh yes, there was another selection there.” Zorn grew a big smile on his face.

“Zorn, Ah could have sworn that it wasn't here a minute ago.”

“And did your failure to notice it make it unwelcome?” Zorn appeared to be putting on the all knowing face, the kind of face that a first year teacher put on.

“Not at all Zorn.” Applejack was being completely honest, but also being very suspicious of Zorn.

“I trust it will be the same with Farpoint Station, Commander. A few easily answered questions about it won't make Starfleet appreciate it less.” Applejack ate the apple in one bite.

“And this is mighty delicious Zorn!” Applejack's mood was always brightened with a red delicious.

“Thank you Commander, I have a good morning.” Applejack took another apple and left the room, leaving Zorn alone. He then looked down, looking at nothing in particular and said, “You have been told not to do that. Why can't you understand? It will arouse their suspicion. And if that happens, we will have to punish you. We will, I promise you.” Zorn reclined in his chair and clasped his hands together.

Applejack entered the Farpoint Markets, hopeful that she would find the assigned medical officer for Enterprise, Doctor Fluttershy. Fortunately, her hopes were proven true and she found the doctor, along with a tiny filly named Scootaloo. “Doctor Crusher!” yelled Applejack. Fluttershy jumped and hid behind the filly for a second. Scootaloo turned to her mom with a disappointed look and said:

“Aw mom, calm down, it's just Commander Applejack.”

“Hey Scoots, enjoying Farpoint Station?” Applejack asked.

“Yes Ma'am, this place has EVERYTHING!” Scootaloo said with excitement. Applejack laughed a little at the young one.

“Oh . . . hello Commander, we were just doing a little shopping before the Enterprise arrived.” Fluttershy said with a soft voice.

“Ah've been meaning to visit the mall myself, would ya'll mind if ah joined ya?” Applejack asked with a big smile.

“Oh um, of course.” Fluttershy said with a weak smile.

“If you're wondering about mom, Commander Applejack, she isn't unfriendly, she's just really shy. I mean REALLY shy.”

“Scootaloo!” Fluttershy yelled in a whisper. “She means, she'd like us to be friends, Commander.”

Applejack was confused at first, but then put on a big smile, took Fluttershy's hoof and started shaking it repeatedly. “Well of course Ah'd be willing to be your friend doctor. But in the meantime, while the Enterprise ain't here, Ah was thinkin, we could serve Starfleet in another capacity.”

“How do you mean Applejack?” Fluttershy asked.

“Well, Ah've been seeing a lot of strange things around here, things that just ain't natural. My first piece of evidence is with this red delicious.” Applejack showed the apple to Fluttershy.

“What does a piece of fruit have to do with it?” Fluttershy asked as she was looking at animals in the market pet shop.

“Well, Ah wanted an Apple, and it just appeared.” Applejack had an inquisitive look on her face.

“You know Applejack, it could be that these beings have an advanced Replicator system, and they just haven't fully presented it to us yet.” Fluttershy then saw the a beautiful bird cage, where she could keep some pets if she ever came across any. “Hmm, it'd look a lot nicer if there was a bit of gold on the cage, it'd give it a bit more personality.”

“Doctor, this apple doesn't taste like any old apple or any replicator apple. It tastes like the apples from Sweet Apple Acres. And that's a taste that can't be copied.” Applejack said with a stern and serious face.

“Oh Applejack you're taking things too-” as she turned towards the cage she saw that the gold that she thought would look good on the cage had in fact appeared on the cage. “But I could have sworn that-”

“Mom, that gold wasn't there before.” Scootaloo said with a curious look on her face.

“Yes well . . .” Fluttershy was at a loss for words. She turned to the vendor of the store and said: “I'll take the cage, send it to the Enterprise when it arrives please.” The vendor gave a nod and took the cage to some place in the back. “Sorry Commander, I thought you were being paranoid but it looks like it was well founded.”

“It's alright Doctor, no problems here.” Applejack said with a smile on her face.

“Maybe this is something Twi' could investigate.” Fluttershy said with her hoof to her chin.

“'Twi'? You mean Twilight Sparkle? As in Captain Twilight Sparkle of the Enterprise?” Applejack asked in astonishment.

“Yes, we have known each other for years, since I was little in fact.” Fluttershy said with a smile.

“Yeah,” Scootaloo said, “I know her too . . . she brought my father home when . . .when . . .” Scootaloo could only look down.

“It's okay Scootaloo.” Fluttershy said with a caring face. “We better be on our way, we will see you later Commander.”

“It was a pleasure. Scoots.” Applejack said. Scootaloo looked up, “Ah'll see you on board okay?”

Scootaloo put on a big smile. “Yes ma'am! I can't wait.” Applejack turned from the Pegasi and continued on her way. Suddenly, a gray mare with blonde hair in a red uniform approached her. But there was something strange about her. She was wearing some sort of visor on her face. Applejack would have to inquire about this later.

“Commander, the Enterprise just arrived.” the gray mare said.

“Is this an official report Lieutenant?” Applejack asked with a hard face.

“Oh. My apologies.” The mare straightened up. “Ma'am, Lieutenant Ditzy Doo reporting in. The Enterprise has arrived but without her saucer section ma'am.”

“Only the Stardrive portion?” Applejack asked. “What in tarnation happened?”

“I don't know ma'am, I do know that Captain Sparkle has ordered for you to be notified to beam up to the Enterprise immediately.” Ditzy said with a smile.

“Our new Captain doesn't waste time does she?” Applejack said with a smile. “Thank you Lieutenant.”

“Aye Ma'am” Ditzy said with a salute.

Applejack moved into a clear position and tapped her communicator. “Enteprise, this is Commander Applejack at Farpoint Station, standing by for beam up.”

“Roger that Commander, stand by.” the communicator said.

Suddenly, Applejack began to glow and with that she was teleported away.

Announcement

Hey guys,

So as you can probably tell, I'm invested in this project. Both as a Trekkie and as a Brony. So I'm making this announcement to ask all the Tronies out there( I are clever, dur.) to start writing fics like these too and add their own little twist to the universe. The Star Trek shows were a success because of their diverse writers, if you had the same writer for too long, you get Star Trek Enterprise. So I submit to you guys to write your Pony Trek stories and we'll publish them. Here are some parameters though. Characters cannot be reused in different series if you plan on doing a cross between MLP and Deep Space Nine. The Captains for the different shows will be as follows, DS9- Big Mac, VOY- Rainbow Dash, and as for Enterprise, well I'd be insulting the series and those that like it if I chose Snips or Snails as Archer so in that case it's up to whoever writes the story first. TOS on the other hand must be taken with great care. I had originally thought Blueblood would be a good choice but I'm not sure. While there is a fan base for Enterprise somewhere out there, there's a WAY larger fan base out there for TOS so let me know what you guys think and we'll try to produce the best stories possible. I'm not trying to start an Empire here or anything, I just think it'd be great if we were all connected and checked our work to create the best stories possible. I'm almost half way finished the Pilot for TNG, but other writers would improve it dramatically. So let me know what you guys think in the comments and in messages.

Encounter At Farpoint part 4

As Applejack materialized onto a transporter pad she got a bearing on her surroundings. She saw the transporter chief at his post and a Lieutenant in front of her and the transporter pad.

“Lieutenant Colgate of security ma'am, welcome aboard the Enterprise.” The young lieutenant said. In Applejack's opinion, the lieutenant seemed to have a short fuse. “Captain Sparkle is waiting for you on the bridge.” Applejack nodded and allowed Colgate to lead her to bridge.

“With the saucer section gone, Ah assume something interesting happened along the way here?” Applejack said with a concerned look on her face. The two entered an elevator and went on their way towards the bridge.

“That's for the Captain to explain ma'am.” Colgate didn't look Applejack in the eye when she said this. Applejack decided to leave it alone, she'd find out soon enough. The elevator reached the battle bridge where the Captain and other crew members were getting the ship into orbit.

“Do we have clearance?” Twilight asked Luna.

“Yes ma'am,” Luna said, “we have permission to go into geosynchronous orbit with the planet.”

“Excellent, make it so.” Twilight said with a smile. Colgate and Applejack approached Twilight.

“Commander Applejack ma'am.” Colgate said as she presented Applejack to Twilight.

“Commander Applejack reporting for duty ma'am.” Applejack said with her chest out and head in there air.

Twilight was thinking about how she was going to treat her new Commander. She wanted to make sure that she was the one in charge, and not some push over Captain. So she decided to simply nod and asked Colgate, “Is the viewer ready Colgate?”

“Yes ma'am!” Colgate said standing at attention. Twilight still had to figure Colgate out, she was a bundle of emotions just waiting to explode. Twilight turned to Applejack.

“We'll bring you up to speed on the” Twilight had no idea what to call whatever it was that happened to them. She decided to call it, “-little adventure we had on the way here.” She motioned for Applejack to sit down in front of the view screen. She did so and saw the “little adventure” unfold in front of her.

“Captain,” Luna said to Twilight, “the saucer section is reporting in, they'll be here in about fifty one minutes.” Twilight nodded and said:

“Tell them that we'll reconnect as soon as they arrive. And send the commander to me when she's finished.”

“Aye Captain.” Luna said while looking at the console. Applejack knew that there was something strange about that dark alicorn. She made a mental note to find out what later. She continued watching the viewer. This, “Pinkie Q” seemed to have placed the crew on trial for the past sins of pony-kind. Applejack had to admit, she thought the past of the ponies was very violent but they had moved past that point in their history. They only wanted peace, and nothing more. The viewer went blank. Applejack got up, turned to Colgate and said: “And she calls that a little adventure?” She continued on to the meeting room of senior officers where Twilight was waiting for her. She made it to the entrance of the room and activated the door bell system.

“Come” Twilight said in a commanding voice. Applejack entered the room and stood before Twilight at attention.

“Reporting as ordered Captain.” Applejack stood proudly but in her head she was unsure of the commanding officer before her. She had heard many rumors about Twilight Sparkle, ranging from being a lover of Princess Celestia and coaxing a command out of her to her being a blood thirsty pony that would only be satisfied if the enemy was devoid of life. Either way, she knew that the Captain in front of her was facing a challenge she would never think a Starfleet Officer would face.

“Good to see you Commander. I'd like to confirm some things about your record if you would feel comfortable answering.” Twilight knew she had one of the best officers in Starfleet. Commander Applejack was quote, “a paragon of honesty, a brilliant tactician, and a hard working officer”. “I see that you served time aboard the 'Star Sight' for a while, under the command of Captain Cheerilee?”

“Yes Ma'am,” Applejack replied. “Ah was a Lieutenant at the time and served at tactical.”

“Yes, your report says as much.” Twilight closed the folder. “Cheerilee is a friend of mine, she and I went to the academy together.” Twilight stood up and looked out the window to the stars. “She was also the one who recommended you for this position. Tell me Commander, what do you know about me?” Twilight asked, looking back and arching an eyebrow.

“Ma'am?” Applejack was a little surprised by this question. “Ah don't know what you mean.”

“I mean, it's likely that you've heard many different rumors about my past.” Twilight continued to walk around the meeting hall. “I heard one rumor that I was a concubine for the Princess, and another that I inherited the command through fear.” Twilight turned to Applejack and said, “Your record says that you give the honest truth about everything you do, one of the guiding principles of Starfleet, Equestria, and the Federation that we all serve. So I'll be honest about how I got my command. After that do you think you'll be able to follow me? Explore the galaxy and discover all that is unknown?”

Applejack smiled and said, “That'd be mighty swell, Captain.” Twilight smiled and said:

“Well then let me tell you the tale of how I got here.”

TWO YEARS AGO

Lt. Commanders Log supplemental,

We have been flying around the Furor cluster for about 8 weeks now, scanning many different nebulas. I have been told that after we finish scanning this cluster we'd be heading back to Equestria where I'd give a report to the Princess. But first, Captain Nimaru wants me to conduct the final scan. Another exciting intellectual day aboard the Idle Prose.

Twilight stepped on to the bridge and went to her science station. The Captain turned to her and said. “Twilight, you're 10 minutes early.”

“Sorry Captain, but you know you can't turn me away from studying a nebula.”

Nimaru laughed, “Of course Twilight, just remember that you have other duties aboard too. Not that you don't complete them, and perfectly I might add, but remember that your crew needs you too.” Twilight looked down at her console. She was never really good at making friends, or commanding respect within the crew, she'd always thought that she'd play it safe and just get a role at the Science Academy at Starfleet, teaching or studying.

“I understand Captain. I'll try harder.” Twilight said with a weak smile.

Nimaru laughed, “Don't worry about it Twilight. I know it's a temporary assignment for you but between you and me we all feel a little safer with a pony who takes her duties so seriously.”

Twilight gave a big smile and said. “I'm only doing what Princess Celestia, Equestria, Starfleet and the Federation expects of me sir.”

“And we wouldn't have it--” Nimaru was interrupted by an Ensign at the helm.

“Sir, we have a ship dropping out of warp in front of us. Scans says it's a Diamond Dog ship.”

The Captain put on a stern face and said, “Hail them.”

A negative beep came from the console. “No Response Captain.” Twilight scanned the ship and saw that a large energy spike arose within the ship.

“Captain!” Twilight yelled, “They're charging weapons!”

“Raise the shields!” Captain Nimaru yelled. But it was too late. The Dogs fired a torpedo near the bridge. Everybody was thrown from their stations. Twilight was delirious but got up. She went over to where the Captain was lying. He was either knocked out, or dead. Either way, she was the senior officer aboard the ship. “Captain Nimaru is down!” Twilight yelled. She saw ponies returning to their stations and said. “Damage report?”

A Lieutenant said, “Damage on decks 2 through 10. Radiation leak on Deck 12.”

“How about weapons and shields?” Twilight asked.

“Shields are up and weapons are nominal. Looks like they started working after we were hit.” The lieutenant said weakly. “What are we going to do now Twilight?”

Twilight stared back at the Dog ship on the view-screen. She knew what she had to do, but she had many reservations, many thoughts. “What if I get the crew killed? What if I get myself killed?” But all the thoughts that plagued her disappeared and she gave a stern look and said. “Ready weapons and lock them on those Dogs. I'm taking command of the Prose.” Twilight took off to the Captains chair. “Charge phasers and prepare to fire.” The crew on the bridge immediately went to work.

“Tactical reporting in Captain.” Tactical was being run by a pony named Centauri. “Phasers are charge and torpedoes loaded.”

“Tactical, target the Dog's engines and weapons.” Twilight commanded. “Helm, we're going to close up the distance with a warp jump.” The crew looked to Twilight.

“But Ma'am that's suicide!” the Ensign said.

“Not if you use these calculations Ensign Moondancer.” Twilight handed Moondancer a pad with all the calculations she would need. Twilight would sometimes write up Tactical Situations and perform them in the simulator, when she needed a breather. “Now prepare to warp on my mark.” The crew turned back to their consoles. Some with worry on their face, others with determination. “Ready?” There was a moment of silence, with only the Dog's phasers and torpedoes in the background. “Mark.” Twilight said. And as soon as Moondancer pushed that final button, the ship moved with incredible speed to the Dog ship, closing up the gap. “Centauri, fire everything you've got!” Twilight yelled. The Idle Prose lit up with phasers and torpedoes, all directed towards the Dog ship, which received a lot of punishment from the Prose. The Dog ship could only fire a few more shots until the reactor inside the ship went critical and exploded. The explosion rocked the Prose, causing an impressive amount of damage. The crew recovered from the shockwave, when Centauri looked up and said,

“Captain, the outer hull took some damage but it looks like we're okay at the moment. Has that maneuver ever been performed?”

Twilight looked back and gave a sigh, “No, I think that's a first.”

“Cheers to the Sparkle Maneuver!” said Moondancer. The crew gave a large cheer for Twilight. She looked to the body of her Captain. A medic had been taking scans of the Captain. The medic looked at Twilight and shook his head. Twilight looked down and said,

“Cheers to the Nimaru Maneuver.” Twilight then gave the order to repair everything the crew could repair and ordered the ship to the nearest Starbase.

Present

“So wait.” Applejack said, “You invented the Nimaru Maneuver?”

Twilight smiled and said, “That's right, I didn't want Captain Nimaru to be forgotten, he was a good Captain.” Applejack took a moment to grieve for the good Captain, but then recovered when she heard someone over the Comm.

“Saucer section to the Star Drive? This is Ensign Worf to Captain Twilight Sparkle.” Twilight tapped her communicator.

“Go ahead Ensign Worf.” Twilight replied.

“Ma'am, we have just arrived in the system and are awaiting further orders.”

“Acknowledged, Sparkle out.” Twilight tapped her badge and stepped towards Applejack. “Let's keep it honest and friendly between us Commander, okay?”

“Sure thing Twi- I mean, Captain.” Applejack said correcting herself. They smiled and went off to the bridge. Twilight tapped her Comm badge again. “Luna, begin automatic docking procedure with the Saucer section.”

“Acknowledged, Captain.” Luna replied.

Applejack stopped and said, “Ya sure you don't want me to dock it manually or something?”

Twilight chuckled a bit. “That'd take too long and besides, I trust you to get things done. I've read your file remember?” Applejack smiled and continued walking with Twilight. They heard the ship connect and made their way towards their regular bridge.

Encounter At Farpoint part 5

Forrest was a doctor. He saw ponies live and ponies die. He unfortunately saw much of the latter. Many of his friends, the ones that he held close to himself in all of his years were now gone. “Rainbow, you left me alone damn it.” Never once did Forrest see his old friend and superior as a lover, but as a sister. Somepony that he held dearly. He looked around the Enterprise's decks with nostalgia. He remembered facing off against alien threats like the Buffalo, those “Romulan” ponies, and many other threats he had forgotten for lack of caring. Didn't seem like it mattered in his old age. He came aboard with many other ponies who were to become the blood of this ship. Normally security would stop an unauthorized entry like his, but he guessed it seemed like he wouldn't be a threat. He continued to hobble through the ship until a voice came from behind him.

“Excuse me sir? Are you lost?” It was Princess Luna, wearing a yellow uniform.

“No your highness.” Forrest tried his best to bow, but his body had trouble moving. “I'm simply taking a tour of the descendant of my old ship.”

“Please,” Luna said. “You know I have not earned my royalty back yet. Please address me like a regular officer.” Forrest was taken back by this.

“Well alright 'Lieutenant Commander'” Forrest said mockingly. “Tell me 'Officer',” Forrest always liked to poke fun at young ponies, “Will the crew accept you for you? Or will they treat you like a charity case and just simply humble you?” Luna looked down and said:

“I do not know sir.” Luna said. “But I am determined to become more than what I am, and make myself a much better pony.” Forrest had a smirk on his face.

“Just like a damned Unicorn to go and make big proclamations like that. But I guess with pegasus wings, you'll either balance out or make yourself boast more. I better be off kid.” Forrest started to hobble towards the exit. Luna joined him and supported him back to his ship. “You know, you might have gone and done bad things when you were young, but let's face it,” Forrest said with a solemn face, “we all have skeletons in our closets.” Luna gave a confused look to Forrest.

“Forgive me sir, I know you were a doctor, but did you really take the time to store skeletons in your closet?” Luna thought about the situation he proposed over and over again in her head and she cross examined everything from Pony medical books to horror stories such as “Cupcakes” and could only find the worst examples. Orion shook his head.

“Careful kid, you're starting to sound like those damned green blooded goblin ponies.” Luna decided that, like a lot of what the old doctor said, was not to be taken seriously.

“Sir, I thought that the Vulcan ponies were an accepted and welcomed part of the Federation?” Luna was a little taken back with this revelation of racism the doctor displayed.

“They are kid, they are. But they're damned annoying.” Forrest went into his memories and thought of his old friend. “Damned pointy eared bastard.” He said silently to himself. He looked back to Luna. “Now listen here kid, your ship has a good name attached to her, so I don't want disrespect towards her you got that?” Luna gave a sharp nod. “Good, cause if you respect her, then she'll always take you home.” Forrest continued to where his ship was docked and gave a final good bye to the Enterprise “D”.

The Enterprise continued to stay in orbit as the other ship, the USS Star Swirl left orbit and went on it's way. Applejack was on the bridge sending the farewell message, “Bon voyage mon ami”, to the ship. It was a special message from Twilight Sparkle, she figured she and the other Captain liked to speak in Fancy sometimes. Twilight entered the bridge.

“Commander, did you send the message?” Twilight asked approaching Applejack.

“Ah sure did Captain, one 'Bon voyage mon ami' to the USS Star Swirl.” Applejack gave a big smile to Twilight.

“Great! How did they respond?” Twilight was checking the console when a bright flash appeared on the bridge, revealing a ghostly figure of Pinkie Q on the view-screen. Worf was quick to react and had a weapon ready. “Worf stand down!” Twilight yelled. Worf lowered his weapon. “It wouldn't do any good, you'd just ruin the view-screen. Worf relaxed a bit and said:

“Sorry Captain, I'll keep that in mind, next time.” He sat back at his station.

“Oh don't get so down on yourself Micro Brain.” Pinkie Q said with a smile. “By the way, I hope you haven't forgotten our little test. The little test of pony kind, if they're truly worthy? You have 24 hours to prove it by the way.” Pinkie Q then disappeared with another flash. Twilight looked at Worf.

“Worf I know you come from a warrior culture, and that this is a big change for you, but keep in mind that patience is a virtue every warrior should have.” Twilight said with a smile.

“Yes Ma'am, I'll try to do better Ma'am.” Worf went back to work at his station near the helm.

“We've got a long voyage ahead of us, so I have no doubt about that.” Twilight said going back to the Captain's chair.

“Captain what do we do? She- they- it can watch our every move.” Applejack asked with a serious look on her face.

“Commander,” Twilight said with a stern face. “what we will do is what we normally do.” Twilight clasped her hooves together. “If we're to be damned, let's be damned for who we are.”

To Be Continued in . . . A painful revelation

Edit. Forrest is now officially the name of the doctor on the original Enterprise. Orion will now take the place of the Vulcan we all know and love.

Encounter at Farpoint part 6

Twilight and Applejack were trotting towards the transporter bay to beam down to the station. Twilight wanted to talk to the administrator himself, the whole situation was very troubling. From what Applejack told her, everything on the station appears soley based on the desires of the pony. True, the new replicator technology exists but these things just appeared without any materialization. If one wanted something, it just simply appeared. And if it already existed, it could be changed instantly based on desire.

Applejack turned to Twilight, “It don't make any sense ma'am. It's true this planet has a lot of geothermal energy to power the station but the materials are way to advanced for this planet to have.”

“Maybe the materials appeared because of this magic you told me about.” Twilight knew unicorns had the ability to materialize things but not on the scale these ponies used. Twilight knew that if she was going to get answers out of the administrator, she would need an ace up her sleeve. She and Applejack stopped at Rarity's quarters, who was working on some fabric. “Rarity, I need you to come down to the station on an away mission. We need to get answers out of the administrator.” Twilight knew that Rarity's emotional reading would give her some help. Twilight would be able to tell if Zorn was lying or not. “Oh and this is our new first officer, Commander Applejack. Rarity turned around and glared at Applejack.

Do you remember what I said to you a long time ago in Appleooza, Imzadi? Rarity was beaming her thoughts into Applejack's head. Rarity had the ability to do this if she got on a personal level with a pony, an extremely personal level. Applejack could only stare back with a disgruntled look. Twilight looked at the two confusingly.

“I'm sorry do you two know each other?” Twilight asked.

“Yes, Captain.” That's all Applejack could say on the matter. Discussing their relationship right now wouldn't really help anything. Twilight decided to leave it alone.

“Good, I'm happy I have officers that know each others abilities right off the bat.” Twilight gave a big smile.

“We do Captain, we do.” Rarity looked to Applejack again. I never did say good bye that day did I? Applejack's stomach turned. After that the three continued to the Transporter pad and beamed down to Administrator Zorn's office. They materialized there where Zorn was sitting.

“Oh, this must be Captain Twilight Sparkle.” Zorn said enthusiastically. “It is a pleasure to meet you Captain.”

“Likewise Zorn, my crew and I want to discuss a few more things before we negotiate anything.” Twilight said as she sat down. Zorn looked over to Rarity.

“It won't be a problem Captain, however I am troubled about one of your crew mates, that Beta Pony of yours. Is she going to probe my thoughts?”

Rarity gave a heavy sigh, “Sir, my abilities allow me to feel your emotions, not probe your thoughts.” Rarity was giving a very annoyed look to Zorn.

“I'm sorry for getting it wrong. But I have nothing to hide regardless.” Rarity rolled her eyes.

“Oh it's quite alright darling, everypony makes that mistake.” Rarity trotted up to one of the seats in the office. “Quite the office you have-” Rarity stopped, her face beamed with a great sense of pain.

“Rarity, are you okay?” Twilight asked.

“I'm feeling very strong emotions here Captain. And they're not coming from Zorn.” Rarity began to cry a little bit. Zorn began shifting around a little bit.

“What is it that you're feeling Rarity?” Applejack asked. Rarity began to sob a little bit.

“Pain, pure pain and loneliness.” Rarity said with her body buckling under the stress. Twilight turned to Zorn.

“Can you explain this Zorn? These emotions she's feeling?” Twilight looked to see how depressed Rarity was, she had gotten worse. “No one pony could be able to cripple her like this.”

“I have no idea what's wrong Captain.” Zorn said with a look of fear on his face. “And frankly, I find this session most distasteful.” Twilight gave a glare to Zorn and was about to say something when her communicator went off.

“Enterprise to Captain Sparkle. This is Lt. Colgate.” Twilight tapped her badge.

“Go ahead Lieutenant.” Twilight heard the distress in Colgate's voice.

“Ma'am there's a large object coming towards the planet at high speeds. We've tried hailing it but there has been no response.” Twilight frowned.

“Alright Lieutenant, I need you and Ensign Doo to beam down here and assist with the investigation while I beam up. I'll handle the ship.” Twilight knew that if there was going to be a crisis, the best place she could be would be commanding her ship. Twilight turned to Applejack.

“Commander, you, counselor Rarity, Lieutenant Colgate, and Ensign Doo will investigate this place further. Find anything out of the ordinary.” Applejack nodded and said,

“No problem Captain, but why do yah need Ensign Doo down here ma'am? She's an engineer.” Twilight nodded.

“That she is Commander, but her special condition with her eyes, grants her the use of a visor that enhances her eye sight and grants her the ability to detect energy anomalies. You would be wise to make use of her.”

“Aye Captain.” Applejack gave a salute and went to assist Rarity who was still recovering from the large burst emotions that hit her. Twilight turned to Zorn.

“We'll continue this discussion later Zorn. And next time, I hope you will be of better assistance to us.”

“We've done nothing wrong Captain. If . . . you're not interested in our wears, then perhaps we should negotiate this station to another potential buyer, such as the Diamond Dogs or the Romulans.” Zorn was trying to play negotiator with Twilight, but she knew how both the Diamond Dogs and the Romulans worked. They would exploit the station and the people to no end.

“If you think they would treat you better, then by all means administrator, go play ball with them. Just remember that if a Diamond Dog is not satisfied with a deal,” Twilight went face to face with Zorn, “they have a tendency to eat whoever is on the opposing side of the deal.” Twilight stepped back, leaving Zorn with a face of horror. Twilight went to a clear area and tapped her Comm Badge. “Twilight to Enterprise, One to beam up.” And with that Twilight transported herself to the ship. She made her way to bridge as fast as she could. She exited the turbo lift and trotted on to the bridge. “Status report Mr. Worf?” Twilight asked.

“Still no response from the ship Ma'am. However it has gained speed.” Twilight turned from Worf and made her way to her chair. She turned to Luna who was sitting at the helm.

“Is it within visual range?” Twilight asked.

“Aye Captain.” Luna said.

“On screen.” The viewer displayed a large “disk” shaped ship. It was, in a word, titanic. Luna tapped a few buttons on her console.

“Ma'am, sensors show that the ship is approximately five times the size of the Enterprise.” Luna said looking at the view-screen. Twilight could only stare at the object before them. The Enterprise had been one of the largest ships ever built by the Federation. Just then, Luna's console went off. Luna looked down and then turned to Twilight.

“Captain, there is a large spike in energy coming from the ship. It would appear to be weapons of some sort.” Twilight turned her head to the view-screen and saw the ship light up.

“Charge those shields Mr. Worf, the Enterprise may be put through its paces today.”

Cancellation

I'm sorry but new projects have come up and I simply don't have time to work on this one anymore. Besides, all I've been doing is basically copying the plot from the episode. Does this mean I'm done with Star Trek? Oh hell no. One of the new projects will be based off of TOS. I promise to give the series as much respect as I can muster- and I'll try to meet the fans needs. Casting? Well as I said in a blog post, the role of James T. Kirk will be filled by Rainbow Dash. Spock's character will be filled by Twilight Sparkle. Montgomery Scott will be played by Applejack. An OC named Forest will play Dr. McCoy's character (The name is in honor of the actor who played him in the show, Deforest Kelly). Chekov will be played by Spike. Hikaru Sulu will be played by Pinkie Pie. Uhura will be played by Fluttershy. If anyone has an idea for Rarity I'd be happy to take it :)

Thank you all for understanding, and know that maybe we'll come back to TNG- once my writing improves or when another writer takes on the project. The adventure continues on as they say. Now... thrusters on full.
