Chapter 7: Someone you don't want to angry
Previous Chapter Next ChapterGeralt took another swig of Cider before turning back to Bonecruncher.
"Who am I?" Geralt asked "I'm someone you want to be angry."
"That makes two of us." Boncruncher replied, cracking his fists. Geralt turned to the attender.
"Since you've been nice to me, I'll make sure there's not a huge mess and try to take this outside." Bonecruncher charged at Geralt, though the Witcher dodged quickly. He used Aard on the minotaur, pushing and blowing him right out of the window, destroying it, but brought the problem outside. Geralt jumped out of the window , standing in front of a standing Bonecruncher, red with anger. The Witcher took his steel sword out, prepared for combat.
"Battling me with a toy!? This will be over quickly!"
"I've heard that before." Both charged at each other, though Bonecruncher was much faster with his horn aimed right at Geralt. Geralt jumped in the air and sliced Bonecruncher's right horn off. Bonecruncher saw his horn fall to the floor and Geralt unharmed. He snorted loudly, his whole body now red.
"GET HIM!!!" The Griffin and Pegasus came out, both wielding swords of their own as Bonecruncher ripped a board from the Tavern. The Pegasus mercenary charged at Geralt first, sword in his mouth and swung at Geralt. Geralt swung back, both of their swords clashing.
"Fighting with a sword in your mouth? Well, I feel sad for you." Both of their swords clashed, but with a swing, Geralt sliced the pegasus mercenary's throat, causing him to fall down, clamping his throat for air, then died on the street. The griffin let out a loud shriek, charging Geralt, but with the sword in his claws. His and Geralt's sword's clashed with each other, and the two stared into each other's faces.
"You're good for a nobody," the griffin spoke "but I'm the best Swordsmen in these parts!" Geralt smirked.
"Funny; back where I come from, your kind are nothing more but beasts that I decapitate and parade around on my steed."
"You're a madman!"
"And you're a fool!" The two clashed their sword together, looking like a dance, but everyone watching knew that this was serious and they needed to stay away from the fight. Bonecruncher swung a huge plank of wood right behind Geralt, knocking the unicorn down!
"Now's the fun part!" He spoke, marching to the fallen Witcher. Geralt opened his eyes, dazed, but not down for the count. His sword was in front of him, and he saw Bonecruncher pridefully walking to him while cracking his knuckles. Very quickly, Geralt rolled across the floor, picking up his sword, and delivered a sideways slice across the Minotaur's chest! Bonecrucher screamed in pain as his new scar bleed. The griffin saw his boss harmed and ran towards Geralt, preparing to swing his sword. Geralt used an Igni on the griffin, making him stop and scream in pain as he was burning all over his body. The Witcher quickly ended the griffin's life, quickly decapitating the griffin with a clean swing. Bonecruncher saw his other follower dead, yelling and charged at Geralt again. Geralt swung his sword into the minotaur, but Bonecruncher ignored the pain, grabbing Geralt by his neck with his right hand, and repeatedly punched Geralt across the face with the other. Geralt took the blows to his face, and took a devestating headbutt from Bonecruncher's thick skull. While many of these things could kill a normal human, or pony, in Geralt's case, this wasn't, thanks to Geralt's training. Bonecrusncher pulled the sword from his chest, wincing in pain, but saw Geralt getting up from his beating, cracking his neck. Geralt walked to the kneeling Bonecruncher, taking his sword, but leqaving a large cut in the minotaur's hand.
"Y-You..." Bonecruncher breathed hard, exhausted "You're a unicorn! That should've killed you! H-How are you alive!?" Geralt stood, taking his sword in his hooves.
"I'm special that way." Geralt simply replied. He lunged the sword into Bonecruncher's throat and pulled it right out. Before the minotaur coule grab his own throat, Geralt swung his sword again, decapitating the minotaur! The crowd watching gasped at what h had done, most backing up and running away! Geralt hobbled his way to the Tavern, entering through the door. The young Thestral and the changelings cowered in fear, not wanting to die from his hands. Gerat pointed at the Thestral "You. Get out of here."
"Y-yes sir!" The thestral whimpered, her bat wings flapping before she flew right out of the broken window. Geralt took out his sword and sliced the chain on the changelings. They both cowered at the Witcher. "Both of you; get out as well." Their 'ears' flattened to the side of their heads, both cowardly walking away, right before their wings buzzed and they flew outside. Geralt walked to the mare behind the counter, who ducked behind just as she saw him.
"P-Please!" she begged "I-i-i don't want any trouble!" Geralt pointed to the broken window.
"How much will that cost?"
"There he is!" A gruff voice yelled "Get him!" Geralt turned to see Thestrals, all wearing black armor with white moon crescents on them, entering and surrounding the Tavern. They held their spears at Geralt, all ready for combat. Geralt sheathed his weapon, slowly getting his mug and drank the rest of the cider. He finished with a small 'Ah' from the refreshment, turning to the gurads, all staring at him with their cat-like eyes.
"To be honest, he started it."
Geralt was taken to the Royal Canterlot Castle, albeit, in chains around him. The halls were remarkably huge, compared to the other castles he has been in, but with how tall Luna was, it was probably reasonable. The smell of cake invaded his nostrils, followed by the scent of a strange fruit that he had never had before, and the staff noticed Geralt, many of them whispered about his looks or asking what he had done. They entered the royal throne room, which Geralt saw was ginormous, followed by many windows holding what was the history of the land. He was surprised to see and quikcly learn that the six mares he had encountered were, in fact, the heroes of this land, using some sort of magic to blast two of their enemies away, but with what looked like a small, humanoid dragon, and Twilight didn't have her wings, but received them, along with what seemed like royalty.
If having a horn and wings make you royalty, then why isn't she worried about assassinations? Geralt thought, though not caring much about Twilight, just wondering why she isn't protected by some men like what Celestia and Luna are doing. Perhaps her friends are her security? It's a start. He saw Princess Luna sitting on the throne, looking rather impatient at him, but he also saw the silhouette of another alicorn, but her mane didn't move like Luna's, and he heard the familiar 'caws' of a crow.
"I see you've been getting along with the locals," the all to familiar voice spoke from the silhouetted pony "Tell me, how was it like battling with no fingers?"
"Strange, but familiar, just like you, Yennefer of Vengerberg." The pony stepped out of the shadows, revealing the new form of Yennefer: an alicorn mare with a coat that was strangely similar to her skin, a long black mane & tail, and was in her dress, similar to Geralt's.
"Oh please, just call me Yennefer, Geralt."
"You know this brute!?" Luna asked in surprise
"And you know this horse?" Geralt asked. Yennefer scoffed.
"Oh hush, the both of you. Geralt, this is where I learned all of my years of magic from. And Luna, I've known Geralt for years now; he's the... special somepony, I mentioned." Geralt groaned
"You're using their terms?"
"Yes, Geralt, but know that I haven't used them when you were around."
"Fair enough."
"Enough!" Luna spoke "Guards, release Geralt, we have much to discuss."
"Yes, your majesty." the guards spoke in unison. They freed Geralt from his chains and left the room.
"They're very loyal to you, your majesty." Geralt commented.
"Yes, they are," Luna replied "they're like children to me, but so is every foal. Tell me, why didn't you meet my sister in the morning? She was expecting you, yet you never came. Quite rude of you."
"Two of her guards prevented me to enter, all because of my 'Thestral eyes'."
"Yes, everyone under my sister's sun tends to do that. But why not teleport inside? Surely, somepony who uses a sword and magic must know how to teleport past some guards."
"I don't know how to teleport, and I hate portals."
"... You are right; he has many excuses."
"Yes," Yennefer spoke "but at least he had the patience to wait, something that neither of us can do. And I must say, Geralt, I'm glad that you didn't go to the whorehouse for pleasure."
"I'm doing my best, Yennefer." Geralt replied "I only go in there for legitimate business."
"Right, of course you do. You do know what's happening here?"
"Of course; Yaks aren't working with them, a winter is growing strong, and your best men can't solve it."
"It was Celestia's soldiers," Luna corrected "but yes, that is what's happening. Something is going on with the Yaks, and you need to-"
"It was the Wild Hunt."
"...The what?"
"The wild hunt. They're hunting my daughter, Ciri, to become the most powerful force in the world. Winter is their way of getting power: make everyone starve to death before they bow to their masters. I need to find Ciri before the Wild Hunt does, or at least, help her escape from this land."
"... I see. What does she look like? When she falls asleep, I can-"
"She's a witcher, like me. Witcher's don't require sleep, and she's on the run, so it's going to be very difficult for the Wild Hunt to catch her."
"Hm... this is going to be difficult then. It seems I won't be of help here, but my sister, Celestia, should be helpful. I will explain to her once she wakes up."
"So I should wait for her?"
"Yes. But that is if you want to. But I think Princess Cadence and her husband, Shining Armor, can be helpful in your situation. Head North to the Crystal Empire, help them in whatever they need helping with, and they shall help you."
"And from what I've heard," Yennefer added "The yaks don't take too kindly to strangers, let alone, us ponies. Geralt, I believe you should find some contracts, start low, then make a name for yourself."
"I should also get paid for these." Geralt replied dryly
"Yes, of course, but start from the bottom, then make your way to the top. Also I think you'll be excited to hear that, though you're initially hired for this job, there has been a small accident."
"Care to elaborate the 'small accident'."
"Go on, Luna. Tell him what happened." Luna's cheeks blushed from embarrassment.
"Well," she began "I only meant to summon you, Geralt, but my magic overreacted and... some other guests entered Equestria."
"'Guests'?" Geralt asked
"It's... kinda hard to explain."
"Many of our allies have entered Equestria," Yennefer explained "Close friends and other Witchers. They're separated and are in different locations around Equestria. You arrived in Ponyville, and I am here, in Canterlot."
"So I have to travel around this land to find our friends?" Geralt asked
"Precisely."
"Hm, have they changed as well?"
"Most likely, but I'm sure you can tell who they are just as you have with me."
"Can't argue with that. I do wonder what many of their ugly faces will look like now."
"You'll see, and who knows, perhaps you'll find some more Gwent cards around here."
"Gwent?" Luna asked
"It's a popular card game back where Geralt and I came from. He can't stop himself from getting all of them, including the rare cards from some certain individuals."
"It's very addicting." Geralt admitted. Yennefer stepped down from the throne and walked to Geralt. She stood a bit taller than him, but Geralt hated to admit it, she was still as beautiful as when she was a human. She leaned down and kissed on Geralt's left cheek.
"I'm sure it is. Please, Geralt, find Ciri and our friends. This land, though it's strange to you, needs saving, and you're the professional it needs. I will be in my chambers the next time you're here."
"What about tonight?"
"Hm, I'm alright with it, and it could be fun."
"Yeah, especially when Roach isn't around."
"Where is your steed?"
"Don't know and I don't care."
Roach sat near the campfire, waiting with a smile on her face.
"He'll call soon." She spoke to herself. A bush shook. "MONSTER!!!" She jumped into another bush and hid away. Out of the other bush came a red stallion with an orange-yellow mane, wearing a yoke around his neck and held a lantern in his hooves. Behind him, he was pulling a wagon. Roach saw the stallion. She drooled as she saw how muscular he was, his more stoic face, and the apple on his ass looked so delicious! She came out of the bush, walking seductively to the stallion. He saw Roach approaching to him, but stopped and froze with confusion as the mare rubbed herself on him.
"...Can ah help you?" the stallion asked.
"Oh, hey there you stallion. The name's Roach, and, I must say, you've got a nice body. Tell me, is that apple real?"
"... NOPE!!!" He turned and ran away with the wagon. Roach chased him.
"I WANT YOUR FOALS!!!"
