The Witcher 3 -DLC: The Witcher of Equestria
Chapter 5: Sparing the dragon
Previous Chapter Next ChapterGeralt looked at the dragon for one last time. He took a deep breath and stood up, turning around and walking away.
"Get out."
"What?"
"Get out of here. I've defeated you, and it's only fair that you get out of here."
"But I-"
"You were under control by something else. If you weren't under control, then I'd personally cut your heart out and parade it into the next town and get higher paying customers. But since I'm in a generous mood, you go back to wherever you came from and live." The Dragon and Geralt stared down at each other. It got up, wincing in pain and groaning, walking weakly away. It stopped and turned it's head around.
"What is your name, pony?"
"... It's Geralt of Rivia, the witcher."
"Fair thee well, Geralt." The dragon walked away weakly. Geralt turned ahead, only to see the six mares from earlier, staring with their mouths wide open.
"You... you just took down a dragon." Twilight gasped
"I did." Geralt replied with a smirk.
"That... was... AWESOME!!!" Rainbow Dash cheered, flying to Geralt's face "Please-please-PLEASE teach me how I can be like that! I won't complain at all, and I'll be the best student you can-" She was muffled by Applejack, who used her forelegs to drag and cover the other mare's mouth.
"Sorry 'bout that, sugarcube. We ain't ever seen anypony fight a dragon like that."
"Unless we count Fluttershy shouting at that dragon before." Pinkie added. Fluttershy cowered at the mention.
"Oh, I didn't want to do that," she spoke "and it's nothing compared to what Geralt did. That was very violent."
"It'll live. Geralt replied "This isn't my first time battling a dragon."
"You fought a dragon before!?" Rarity exclaimed.
"I did. Though, looking at it now, that was easier, and not as interesting, as this. That dragon was impaled by a tree and was, how shall we say, naked."
"What did you do to it?" Fluttershy asked
"...I'd rather not say to strangers. Now, if you excuse me." Placing his right hoof in his mouth, he whistled. Roach came out of the bushes in a blinding speed, halting near Geralt.
"Did you got rid of the monster, master?" she asked "Oh, please tell me you didn't kill it! I hate parading those heads near my side, especially when they're fresh."
"I didn't, Roach."
"Why'd you let it live!? It's gonna kill us all!!!"
"...Quite the double standard partner you have there." Twilight commented.
"Oh shut up, Roach!" Geralt replied, mounting Roach.
"Wait! Where are you going?"
"I'm going to meet my employer, Princess Celestia and Luna, find out more information on what's happening, and get out of here before Roach decides to mount me."
"How'd you know my plan, master!?" Roach asked.
"SHUT UP!!! Move!" Roach moved a head a couple of steps, but stopped as Twilight stood in the way.
"Wait!" She yelled
"What is it?"
"Look, earlier, you casted a spell on me."
"Yeah, apologies for that. Assumed you weren't as bright as you look." she gave him a death glare.
"I'm going to let that pass for now, but I want to thank you for your noble actions and wish to repay you."
"Really? What do you have to offer?"
"You're still curious about this land, right? And you certainly don't act like any other pony. Look, I have some books here that will help you get to know this land, it's creatures, and our culture." Her horn glowed and she conjured up some books, giving them to Geralt. Geralt took the books from her, placing them on Roach's back.
"Thanks."
"Do you even know where you're going?"
"To the only castle here, up on that mountain when I was on the Dragon's back. Move, Roach." Roach moved forward. Twilight walked next to them.
"Will we see you again?"
"... Maybe. If Ciri is here, keep her with you, then we'll see each other soon. HEYA!!!" With a flick, Roach galloped ahead, running and the two vanished into the forest.
The journey to Canterlot, as Geralt read, took them a few days, which would've been shorter, had Roach not needed sleep. Geralt learned about the pony races, and how he, a unicorn, was magically gifted while Roach, an Earth Pony, was physically faster and stronger than him. Many of the creatures were much more different than from his homeland, from the obscure looking Ahuizotl and Draconequus, to the new found Tantabus and Changelings, he studied each carefully, and meditated, to find the perfect to dispatch these new, and surprisingly, mostly sentient creatures. He learned how Equestria was made, and got a vibe from the so called Wendigos, with how they were like The Wild Hunt, spreading winter, though the hunt didn't need hatred to be powerful. The strange thing were the Alicorns; From what he read, the royal sisters, Celestia and Luna, not only ruled the land, but were responsible for the rotation of both the sun and the moon. This, he doubted, as being powerful was one thing, but controlling the rotation of the sun and moon, they sounded like tyrants he worked before and that everyone has been brainwashed by them. Hopefully, they won't keep him as a means to defend themselves from rebels; fighting monsters was one thing, but working for monsters was another. Of course, with each stop, Roach was getting closer to Geralt with each night, leaving the Witcher to be both angered, and awkward feeling at the same time.
Geralt opened his eyes from meditation again, feeling hugged by Roach.
"How's my Master feeling?" she asked "Had another good night sleep? I sure did."
"For the last time," Geralt lowly growled "I'm a Witcher; I don't need sleep, I was meditating on what I learned, and GET OFF OF ME!!!" He pushed Roach off before standing up again. Roach stood up, smiling, though in a more seductive way.
"Ooh, wanna play rough now? I'm gonna enjoy this!"
"No! I don't want to play!"
"Ooh! Want to have it nice & slow? I'm down with it."
"Shut up!"
"Or do you wanna ride me again, master? I will admit, I enjoy it, but I want to know what it'll be like if I rode you." Geralt groaned to himself in frustration, turning and running away. Roach stood there, then sat on her rump. "I'll wait for you, then!" She moaned to herself as her new found fantasies came to mind. Geralt, for his part, ran ahead, just a few miles away from Canterlot.
It was Afternoon, and Geralt arrived to Canterlot, to which he was quite surprised to see many of the sentient species around with the ponies, acting like normal citizens to each other. True, Geralt figured that, just like humans, the ponies may not have trusted other species, as his kind is to Elves & Dwarves, but they seem to be in harmony. All around, Geralt saw what he felt was natural: beggars on the floor, asking for food or money; guards (mostly making up of the three main pony kinds) in golden armor, patrolling while keeping an eye out for criminals; vendors selling whatever they have on them; blacksmiths and weapons dealers selling armor & swords to customers, some wanting it for decorations for their homes, others for what could be mercenary or guard business; groups of mercenaries stood around, some, as Geralt could tell, were part of a group while others were just freelancers; and finally, the last thing he saw, was a whorehouse, something that his past self told him to 'Do it', but he's now trying his best to resist it, for Yennefer. He walked across the floors of the busy market, getting stares from many eyes. Undoubtly, the Blacksmiths & Weapon crafters took notice of him, writing down what may be their best armor for him at a hefty cost (which, Geralt admit, he'll most likely do), with the mercenaries looking at him, some in fear, some showing respect, and others being cocky, believing that they're better than him. Many of the citizens who saw Geralt quickly stepped aside, by not only his weapons & armor, but more for his scars and eyes, some calling him "Thestral Blood." Whether this was a compliment or an insult, he'd have to figure out himself, but he made his way to the castle. He saw a whole row of guards, all in their golden armor, standing outside the gates of the castle. Geralt approached to the castle, preparing himself for any conflict.
"Halt!" One of the guards ordered. Geralt followed.
"Who goes there?" Another asked.
"The name's Geralt," Geralt answered "Geralt of Rivia."
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to see my employers, the royal sisters." The two guards began switching from each other.
"Neither of the princesses told us about any 'Geralt of Rivia'."
"How do we know you aren't here to assassinate any of the princesses?"
"Why should we let some freak like you inside?"
"If you're here to join the Nightguard, just wait until Celestia sets the sun and Luna raises the moon."
"Otherwise, beat it!"
