Shard drunkenly got to his feet and glared at the girl in front of him, holding himself up with an arm on the bar. "Seras... fucking... Bismona... to what do I owe the pleasure?" He spat angrily, Mise slowly climbing back to his feet.

Seras had long silver hair with three large curls at each side. Her eyes were a deep blue and her grey fancy dress flowed with an almost magical breeze. The girl smirked and took a step forward, causing Shard to growl slightly. "What? Have you forgotten what is to take place in a weeks time? Surely a man such as yourself would remember something important like that."

Mise managed to prop himself on a table. "The fucks she talkin' about?"

Shard's eyes widened and he glared. "Didn't I already tell you!? It's off! I found someone! The deal is void!" He yelled with an unusual amount of anger present in his voice, a mixture of his own anger and confusion over everything that had happened during that day, the alcohol lifting any mental restraints he had placed upon himself to avoid snapping.

"Seriously the fuck ya's talking 'bout?"

Seras frowned and took in a breath. "I remember, a Miss Ditzy Doo was it? Adorable little girl if I do say so myself."

Shard's glare hardened. "How the hell do you know what she looks like?"

Seras giggled and turned around towards the bars exit. "Poor dear, suffering nightmares. By now she can't even look at you without becoming scared for her life."

"Nightmares?" That tiny piece of Shard that managed to stay sober was at full attention, but his alcohol fuelled rage was starting to become increasingly unstable.

"I knew that since you found the girl you thought you'd fallen in love with her. Shadō, you were lying to yourself, you promised yourself to me long ago. As long as you're within the Arashi family you're-"

"I'm no longer a...part of the Storm family you stupid bitch..." Shard muttered, leaning his back against the bar. "I left it...I was tired of their stupid traditions...they were goin' ta cast me out anyway...so...I'll repeat...the deal, is, VOID!!!" He exclaimed as he threw an empty bottle that smashed just beside her.

After a moment of silence, Seras just giggled. "No matter. Even now, that little girl is too afraid to even go near you, your relationship is finished."

"You're the reason she's afraid aren't you? What did you do to her?!" Shard demanded as he reached for his sword, only to end up grasping nothing. 'Damn, why did I leave it in the car? Oh right, I planned to get drunk...and I am drunk...crap.'

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't have something to do with her fears. Although, what actually helped cause it was something developed by someone you might know~" Seras sang as she stepped out of the bar.

"I'm going to kill her..." Shard grumbled angrily as he tried to run out after her, only to end up slipping on a spilled drink and falling to his knees. When he tried to get up again Mise grabbed his arm to hold him back.

"Woah... woah... settle down man, calm yourself." He whispered in a drunken slur.

"Calm myself?! That pathetic excuse for a woman has sabotaged my relationship! How can I keep calm when the person who has ruined my love life is right outside that door?!"

"Is violence gonna fix whatever bullshit that woman caused? Look, we're both drunk, I've been in the same situation before man, I've had multiple friends holding me back, trust me, it's best to get the hangover out of the way first and then dealing with the bullshit." Mise stated, struggling to form complete and meaningful sentences, but pushing through to try and help his new drinking buddy.

Shard's anger slowly began to subside. After a few moments Mise let go of his arm and he put a hand to his head. "Alright...alright..."

"Hey, I know what'll cheer ya up."

"What?"

"Let's go kick Treble in the dick a few times."

Once she turned around a corner, Seras pulled out a small silver phone and placed it to her ear. "Hello?"

"So? Did he believe it?" Soledad's voice spoke from the small device.

"Very much so, he seemed to be very angry with me."

"Well, he's smart enough to put two and two together. You get back here and wait for him to find out where you are, then I'll deal with him."

"You remember the deal right? You beat him down, do a bit of reworking and give him back to me, while you get out into the world, free from the walls and systems of CyCorp."

"Seras, I am a super advanced artificial intelligence, of course I remember the damn deal. I'm just surprised he believed you had some way of instilling fear into his soon to be former love."

"He's drunk, confused and angry, he'll believe anything right now."

"Right...as much as I'd like to chat, I have some...guests...to attend to. Just make sure he brings his robot, it is necessary for my plan."

With that, the phone went silent. Seras smirked while putting the phone away, watching from afar as Mise and Shard stumbled out of the bar. "Soon Shadō...enjoy your freedom while it lasts." With those words spoken, she vanished into the night, eagerly awaiting the next time she would see Shard.

Soon everything would fall into place, the many stories told in this tale shall soon meet their end, even I do not know the outcome, there are many ways this could end. Some endings bringing joy and sadness, laughter and love, some bringing hope, some bringing despair and heartbreak.

Don't you just love an unpredictable ending?
