"Open wide~" Ditzy sang as she sat on the side of Shards bed with a bowl of soup in one hand and a spoon in the other. Shard lay with a bandage wrapped around his head, a few around his torso and his leg. He groaned as he opened his mouth for Ditzy to feed him. She smiled and put the spoon in his mouth, allowing him to drink the soup on the spoon before taking it out and scooping up some more.

"This is just weird..." Shard said quietly as Rayleigh floated in with a glass filled with a thick light blue liquid.

"Don't feel embarrassed Master Shard, just be glad that it is not your mother doing this. Speaking of which, Mrs Aquamarine has sent up her herbal remedy to help you recover." The robot said while setting the glass on Shards bedside table.

"Moms healing herbs eh? Finally managed to grow a decent batch." Shard said weakly as he took another spoonful of soup.

"Do they actually heal you like in videogames?" Ditzy asked with curiousity.

"Not exactly. They have certain mixtures of different substances that all boost your natural healing, making it more efficient and effective as well as speeding up the process considerably." Shard explained as Ditzy took the glass and he slowy sat up, she held the glass up to his mouth as he began to drink the contents slowly. "Thanks..."

"You're welcome." Ditzy said happily as she set the one empty glass and bowl down. As she was about to get up she felt her phone buzz. "Uh oh, it's my mom, she wants me over at the house for something."

"It's fine Ditzy, you go do whatever it is your mom wants, Ray can take care of me, right bud?"

"With pleasure Master Shard! Do not worry Miss Doo, the young master is in good hands!" Rayleigh spoke with his cheery voice as he gave a quick salute to Ditzy, causing her to giggle and pay his head.

"Thank you Ray, I'll just grab my bag and then I'll head out." She leaned over and gave Shard a quick kiss. "Love you, see you later."

"Love you too Ditzy." Shard said with a smile as he watched his girlfriend walk out of his room. As she left he felt his own phone beginning to buzz. Taking it out of his pocket he saw that it was Octavia calling him. He hit answer and held it up to his ear. "Hello?"

"Shard?"

"Yeah, it's me, what's up Octavia?"

"I was just calling to make sure you're prepared to deal with Mise in a few days."

Shard groaned as he remembered what he would have to do. "I'm a little bit roughed up right now, but I'll be able to make it of its in a few days."

"Roughed up? What happened to you?"

"Tavi, you wouldn't believe me if I told you." Shard groaned a s he held his side.

"Shard, I have watched my best friend battle sirens with a transforming dubstep car, watched my other friends use magic, turn into she-demons and Angels, been attacked by other worldly sentient plants and am friends with Treble Mix. There isn't much that can suprise me."

"Alright, I had a battle to the death with a vengeful cyborg and was sent into another realm of existence to help defeat a living glitch in reality which was destroyed by an orbital bass cannon and met another worlds version of Roden." He said was a bored tone, tired of all the weird shit that was happening to him in the recent weeks.

Octavia remained silent for a few moments to think over what she was told. "Ok, that's a new one...and I do find it hard to believe..."

"Told you."

"Anyway, if you are able to make it then please make sure that you do, please for the love of God make sure Mise doesn't get hurt."

"I'll do my best Octavia. Talk to you later."

"Thank you, see you at school." With that said Octavia hung up and Shard placed his phone on his bedside table.

"Why do I get the feeling that I will gave to deal with a lot more shit with Mise after this?" Shard asked to no one as he lay back in his bed, Rayleigh settling down in a chair beside the bed.

"I don't know sir, but I'm certain that whatever comes your way that involves that Irish gentleman, you'll be able to push through it to become stronger." The Mr Handy unit responded cheerfully.

Shard rolled his eyes and closed them, trying to rest up to let the herbs take effect. A half an hour later he found no hope of falling asleep, so he sat up slowly and looked to his desk where a notebook was placed with multiple sticky notes and page markers sticking out of its sides. "Hey Ray, could you pass me over my notebook?"

"Of course." Rayleigh took the book from the desk with his pincher and placed it in his creators hands. "There you go, looking over your ideas for new upgrades or inventions?"

"Nah, I've already git enough gadgets and such for myself, plus the Swingshot from CyCorp. I'm developing another design, just stop a few more tweaks and I can get to building with the parts I still have." Shard opened up the book and began flicking past pages which contained failed designs for Rayleigh abs a few other gadgets. He then reached the latest page and began adjusting a few of the design choices and rearranging certain things to make the design possible. Soon he was finished and set the notebook down on the bed. "Ray, grab the spare components and my tools from my closet for me please?"

Rayleigh returned with a box full of wires, metals etc and a small tool case.

"Alright, let's get to work." Shard cracked his fingers before lifting out a screwdriver and picking out suitable pieces of the well kept components. As Shard began building Rayleigh saw the name of the project.
