A few minutes later

The group stood around the medical bed that Shard was lying in, having been escorted to the medical wing for immediate treatment by the nurses. He had fallen unconscious on his way there, the injuries finally taking their effect on his body and causing him to collapse in the middle of the hallway.

Now he lay still on that bed with his friends looking at him in worry as Ditzt stood at his side holding one of his hands while Rayleigh floated on the other side making sure his creator and best friend was alright and floating protectively near him, still untrusting of some of the CyCorp employees.

Turner had remained silent during the whole ordeal. He saw how Shard had fought, paid attention to his skill and paid close attention to what had happened after the battle. It was clear to him that this was indeed someone who would be able to protect Ditzy and everyone else close to him, so Turner did not have to worry about her safety. He had heard the stories from his father, of how many companions he had lost in his adventures, and that had made Turner very protective of his friends, as to not end up like his father.

"It may be awhile before he wakes up, you should probably go home and let him rest." Plas suggested as he stood leaning his back against a wall with his hands in his lab coat pockets. "Although, I doubt that Miss Doo will be willing to leave his side."

"Yeah, I'm staying right here for when he wakes up. You guys should go home I'll talk to you all later." Ditzy said quietly as she gripped Shards hand tighter.

The group looked to each other and nodded, deciding to give the couple their privacy. They walked out of the room with Plas following close behind. Rayleigh just retracted his legs and sat as a metal ball on one of the chairs beside the bed, still having his eyes out to keep a look out for anything or anyone that would try to harm his creator.

Ditzy crawled onto the bed and cuddled up to Shard, her forehead pressed against his chest. As she closed her eyes she felt Shard shift. While still unconscious, his body instinctively wrapped his arms around her protectively and pulled her closer slightly. She snuggled into the embrace and closed her eyes again, allowing the protective embrace to calm her nerves and send her into a deep sleep.

As Ditzy opened her eyes she found she was no longer in a bed I the medical wing, she was in a fancy bedroom in a large bed with thin blue covers. She started to get confused until she saw a CyCorp logo on one of the walls. She tried to move but felt herself being held by something. Looking down she saw that Shards arms were wrapped around her body just under her chest. Turning her head slightly she saw Shards head, his eyes closed and was nuzzling the back of her head slowly while sleeping.

Ditzy blushed slightly but smiled as she enjoyed the show of genuine affection, plus, it felt really nice to her. Sighing happily she tilted her head back to lean into Shards cheek.

As she lay there in the embrace of her partner she tried to figure out how they had gotten there, or how they were moved. Looking over a bit she saw Rayleigh in his ball on a sofa on the other end of the room playing chess with a small monkey from one of the labs with a small metal helmet on. "Alright monkey, your move." He said quietly

The monkey scratched it's chin fir a second before taking one of his pieces and taking out Ray's queen.

"...that's a good move."

Ditzt raised a brow at the scene in front of her, but with what she had been seeing lately hardly made it surprising to her, it just looked weird.

About a half an hour later Ditzy felt Shard starting to stir as he let out a quite groan. He let go of her and turned on his back, but grunted in pain at the sudden movement. Can you blame him? When you get punched repeatedly with a robot arm you're bound to come out with some broken bones and bruises.

Ditzy sat up and watched as the orange haired swordsman began to open his eyes very slowly. Looking to the clock to make sure she knew what to say, she scooted over to Shard and leaned over him with a caring smile, wanting not to be the first thing he saw waking up in an effort to cheer him up. "Morning sleepy head~" She sang in a soothing, quiet voice as to help him wake up in a relaxed manner.

He squinted at the change in ought before finally opening his eyes and looking up to see Ditzy's smiling face. "Oh...morning Ditzy...um, it is morning right?"

"Yep, you probably slept for a good sixteen hours from my guess."

Shard just lay there quiet while moving his uninjured hand to rub the sleep out of his eye before continuing. "Did you bring me home or something?"

"Nope, I think we're still at CyCorp considering the logo over there."

"Fan...fucking...tastic." Shard groaned as he closed his eyes again. "I'm goin back to sleep."

"Oh no you're not." Ditzy began to rapidly pat Shards cheek with gentle slaps that were becoming increasingly irritating to the swordsman.

"Alright alright, I'm up I'm up!" Shard, momentarily forgetting about his injuries, tried to sit up but fell back down. "...or not."

"You were beat pretty bad, but the doctors and nurses had said you should be back to normal in a few days with their advanced medicine healing you." Ditzy explained as she got off the bed and walked around to Shards side, looking at him and with a huge grin.

"What're you planning exactly and should I be scared?" Shard blurted out.

"No no silly, I'm not gonna do any of that. I'm going to take care of you until you're healed!'

Shard just chuckled nervously and looked to Rayleigh who nodded while glancing to Ditzy, signalling Ahard that he'd keep Ditzy out of trouble.

"Did the doctors say when I cane go home?"

"Oh, later on today after a few checkups. Other than that, it's just you, me and Ray,"

Fun times ahead.
