As the car pulled up to the large building, the outside seeming to have the same plating of the CyCorp building, the group got out of the vehicle. Shard and Ditzy locked arms as did Octavia and Mise. They began walking up to the brightly lit entrance atop a few clean blue steps.they saw a few more groups of well dressed people walking into the building as they approached.

Just as they were about to enter the building Shard heard a familiar voice speak behind him. "Oh, so you got invited to this too then?" Shards smile turned to a frown as he turned around to see Cybe standing there. His metal face mask was still on, covering the bottom half of his face, he wore a simple black tuxedo, his mechanical right arm, to Shards surprise, was actually coved by a sleeve rather than left to the open air.

"Cybe." Shard said simply.

"Shard." The cyborg replied emotionlessly as he walked past the group.

"Was uh...was that guy a cyborg?" Mise asked in surprise.

"Yes, yes it was." Octavia answered wide eyed.

Mise just shook his head and took a swing of his flask. "I'm not drunk enough for this." He looked yo his flask and found that it was empty after that last swing. "Damnit."

"Don't worry, there's a bar inside, drinks are on me." Shard stated, trying not to let the cat that his mortal enemy was attending the same party that would be his first real outing with his girlfriend get the better of him.

Mise walked up to him and patted his shoulder. "You are a true friend sir." With that the group walked through the front doors and stood at the top of a large staircase that overlooked a grand hall. A stage with a small orchestra sat at the back of the hall as groups of people young and old walked around chatting or dancing to the music provided, there was also a few bits of electro placed in with the orchestral music playing in the background.

"Shādo, watashi no subarashī oi!" A woman's voice exclaimed. Shard turned and was immediately brought into a hug by a tall woman with tan skin, long straight lapis blue hair with a generous bust, wearing a sparkling blue strapless dress and long white gloves. "Anata ni watashi no hansamuna oi o mite totemo yoidesu!"

"It's good to see you too Aunt Lapis." Shards voice was muffled as Lapis hel him close and had his head buried in her chest which was making him very uncomfortable. He managed to free himself from his affectionate aunts grasp and smiled up to her.

"Look at you all grown up, your hair is brighter than ever!" Lapis said in English as she fiddled with a lock of Shards hair. "I see you've gotten that little 'thing' under control now."

"Yes, it was tough but I finally was able to take control over it." Shard answered.

"Well that great news! We don't need a repeat of your great grandfather Fracture." Shard and Lapis both shivered at the mention of the name. Lapis looked past Shard and saw Ditzy behind him holding his hand in hers. "Oh my, I see you've found yourself a partner. Wonderful! Someone else to welcome into the family!" Lapis held out her hand to shake Ditzy's. "I am Lapis Phoenix, who might you be, and how is it that you managed to capture my handsome nephews heart?"

"Wait, Phoenix? Shouldn't your last name be Storm?" Ditzy asked in confusion.

"She married a man named Nathan Phoenix and took his last name but has decided to stay in the family." Shard explained before turning to Lapis. "This is Ditzy Doo. We met at Canterlot High when she was selected to give me a tour. We hung around each other for awhile before we found ourselves in a romantic atmosphere and then we kinda just went with the mood, after that I kissed her on the lips."

That last part caused Lapis to gasp happily. "You performed the seal?"

"Yeah...I feel like she's the one, and our ancestors seem to have played some part in our meeting."

Lapis laughed in joy as she hugged the two tightly. "Oh I'm so happy for you my darling nephew!" She broke away fro the hug and gasped. "I have to tell everyone in the family about this! Enjoy the party dears!" With that she dashed off.

Shard just chuckled. "That's my Aunt Lapis alright, never a dull moment."

"While I'd love to see your family members show up one by one I'd much rather get this party started." Mise said as he led Octavia to the dance floor.

"He's hust in a bad mood, if he gets a few drinks he'll be ok. Don't worry, he doesn't get drunk too easily and I'll keep him from overdoing it." Octavia whispered before allowing Mise to take her down to the dance floor.

"Your family is kinda weird." Ditzy said adorably as she hugged Shards arm.

"Yeah I know, but that's what make them lovable. Most of them have pleasant personalities. Well except for my cousin Sapphire, total Tsundere." Shard chuckled.

"Really?"

"Yep, she'll act like she's annoyed or angry but inside she's a total sweetheart."

"Oh good, you've arrived." A voice spoke.

"Speak of the devil." Shard said quietly as he turned to see his cousin, Sapphire Phoenix, standing there with a neutral expression. "Hey cus, how's it going?"

Sapphire had long sapphire blue hair, wearing a similar dress to Lapis, only not sparkling. "It's going fine thank you." She said with a hint of hostility, but Shard picked up on some joy in her voice.

"Heard you were staring to attend Canterlot High now, I can't wait to see you there."

Sapphire huffed and walked by them. "Enjoy the party." She spoke aggressively, but Shard sensed the happiness anyway.

"Strange, usually she's more talkative." Shard laughed as he led Ditzy down the staircase. As the reached the bottom of the stairs and walked towards the dance floor Shard stood in front of Ditzy, bowed slightly and held out his hand. "Shall we dance my lady?" He spoke in a voice similar to a particular demon butler from a certain anime causing Ditzy to giggle before placing her hand in Shards.

"Lead the way."

Shard smirked and pulled his adorable girlfriend to the dance floor where he placed one hand on her hip while placing the other on her shoulder as they began to slow dance.

Little fun fact, all of the females in Shards family are named after gems and gem-like materials while the males are named after words relating to something that is broken
